Chapter 333 - 191: A Difficult Battle, an All-Rounder
"They’re here again..."
"Be careful! These big guys are terrifyingly strong!"
On the main battlefront of Silver Stream City, many exceptionally prominent figures could now be seen.
They weren’t Mutated Goblins, but something much taller and stronger.
They were the very same Giant Goblins that Lin Mo and the others had previously encountered in the Caves.
These "Type II Goblins"—mutated variants from among the Goblin Guards—were far more powerful than the mutations of ordinary Goblins. Standing over three meters tall, their Threat Level was at least Level 3.5!
And the one before them was nearly four meters tall; its Threat Level had definitely reached Level 4.
While the members of the Silver Stream City Guard Team were no ordinary people, they still weren’t on the level of true Professionals. They merely had some innate talent and had learned standard-issue Skills in the army, putting their overall strength at roughly that of a Level 0.5-0.7 Professional. Taking on Ordinary Goblins was a cinch for them, but even Mutated Goblins were difficult to handle, let alone these mountain-like monsters.
At times like this, it was naturally up to the officers of the Guard Team to step in. However, even the officers struggled to contend with a Goblin whose Threat Level had reached Level 4.
To prevent the battle line from collapsing, one of the guard captains could only bite the bullet and stand before the monster.
A very human-like, mocking sneer hung on the Giant Goblin’s face. It raised the heavy Iron Rod in its hand and brought it smashing down toward the captain’s head.
The guard captain’s face instantly turned deathly pale, but he could only grit his teeth and swing the blade in his hand.
The moment their weapons clashed, his blade shattered. The immense force sent him flying, and he coughed up blood in mid-air.
His strength was not inconsiderable; he was a Level 2 Warrior who had easily dispatched the Mutated Goblins just moments before. He might even have been able to put up a fight against a Quasi-Bronze Level Goblin.
But a Giant Goblin with a Threat Level of 4 was clearly far beyond his capabilities.
Even though the exchange had been so brief, the immense force was enough to shatter his internal organs, leaving him with almost no chance of survival.
That was why the Giant Goblin didn’t even bother to pursue him.
The world before his eyes grew blurry. His body was numb, unable to feel any pain, yet he couldn’t move a muscle...
However, just as the guard captain closed his eyes, preparing to die, a warm Holy Light suddenly enveloped him.
[Great Healing Skill]!
As the Holy Light showered down, his condition began to recover at a visible rate. His mangled internal organs returned to their proper places, shattered pieces mended, and wounds healed...
While it wasn’t as dramatic as a full recovery, that single Great Healing Skill was enough to restore him to about seventy or eighty percent.
As expected, an Excellent Level Healing Skill was far more effective than an Ordinary Level one.
Of course, this was partly because Lin Mo’s current Magic Attribute was absurdly high, and the person he was healing was only a Level 2 Professional.
For an injury of the same severity on a Level 4 Professional, the effect would have been greatly diminished.
It probably would have only been enough to keep them alive.
After all, an attack capable of inflicting such a severe injury on a Level 4 Professional would be far stronger than a simple swing from a Giant Goblin’s Iron Rod.
However, what puzzled Lin Mo was that while his Basic Magic Attribute had reached 68 Points and his Mage Profession had smoothly advanced to Level 6, making him a Senior Level Mage, his Priest Profession was still stuck at Level 5 and hadn’t been promoted.
Lin Mo had been so immersed in the joy of leveling up and acquiring a New Skill that he hadn’t noticed this before. ’So, what’s the reason?’
’Could it be that Profession advancement... or rather, a leap in Professional Level, has some other requirement?’
As Lin Mo pondered these things, he raised his Steel Splitting Sword and, without any change in expression, effortlessly blocked a swing from the Giant Goblin’s Iron Rod.
His figure remained as still as a mountain. In contrast, the moment its Iron Rod made contact with Lin Mo’s Sword, the Giant Goblin’s expression changed drastically.
Seemingly unconvinced, it gripped the Iron Rod with both hands and continued to press down.
Yet Lin Mo acted as if nothing was happening. He didn’t even spare it a glance, his mouth moving as he muttered something to himself.
The Giant Goblin felt it had been taunted and insulted. It let out a furious roar, veins bulging all over its body as it put every last ounce of its strength into the press.
Lin Mo finally seemed to notice something and glanced at it.
"This is getting annoying..."
The next moment, with a flick of his wrist, he effortlessly knocked the Giant Goblin away. A moment later, the wide blade of his sword plunged directly into its body.
The Giant Goblin looked down in disbelief at its pierced abdomen.
Then, Lin Mo softly uttered, "Sword Storing and Continuous Slash."
’I don’t even need to use Blood Qi Blade. This thing doesn’t deserve it.’
The instantly cast Sword Storing and Continuous Slash unleashed three streams of Sword Qi, slicing the massive body before him in half at the waist.
The heavy body fell, crushing several Ordinary Goblins to death in the process.
[Sword Storing and Continuous Slash] Skill Level +25!
Lin Mo glanced at the notification. The Skill Level for [Sword Storing and Continuous Slash] had reached Level 5 (165/180).
’Compared to Continuous Thrust, this skill is at least an area-of-effect ability, so it should theoretically be easier to grind.’
’I’ve been using it for so long; it’s about time this skill evolved.’
