"Sorry about the morning, Redo."

Early in the morning Redo, called by Diaz, sat on the couch in the branch manager's office as usual.

"What's up? It's unusual for Cece and the others to call it, so please shorten it."

"Oh? Hmm. It might have something to do with that."

Seeing Diaz narrowing her eyes, Redo had a bad feeling.

And Redo took out the cigarette, and set it on fire, lest he should understand it.

Purple smoke swings between us.

Ledo likes tobacco itself, but apart from that, he recognized it as a useful prop in these negotiating places.

Take it between conversations and roll it in smoke... it's great to create room to keep the other person from taking the lead.

"So? What are you talking about?"

"There was a passing incident on [White Whale Street] last night"

"It's noisy over there. It won't be unusual."

That downtown area is full of pickups, robberies, murders, everything. I wouldn't even call it a lawless zone, but the Metropolitan Police don't actively try to control it either. Well, Ledo was pushing evil that there must be a lot of politics involved anyway.

"Several men and women who had nothing in common were killed on the street. Apart from that, even in the demonic Ajit, the men who seem to be subordinates (...) died (...) (...) (...)"

"Wait, wait, he said it was a Demon Ajito!?

Since last month's Gaddis raid, city police officers, defense forces and adventurer guilds have rarely united to begin washing out the followers of the Demons and [Flaming Worship].

The arrests continued, and the demons or their associates and followers seemed to have swept away from the city.

"Redo, you don't think you could have gotten the smell of a clean fire to that extent?

"No, but Ajito... have you already grabbed the Devil's information?

Redo was also using the rats, the informants, to explore the information, but he didn't get confirmation of what had a suspicious shadow. Naturally I also thought Diaz and [Black Blade (Krone)] would be moving.

"No... unfortunately, it wasn't until later that I found out it was Ajito. If there was an odorous noise and I went to the scene... even after the corpses were cumulative, there would have been something like an altar of [flame worship]. Besides, there were traces of demons."

"I see. So that mass murder was the work of the Demons?

"No... I can't say enough. It's a little bit more... special (...). I'm doing everything I can to find out about the Demons..."

Seeing Diaz say it rarely, an alarm rang in Redo's head.

"Special way to kill?

"Almost all of them had been slashed (...) necked (...). Some have also been slashed in the ankles. The coroner had testified that it would be quite a hands-on job. Yet another man was murdered elsewhere by the same M.O. during yesterday's day, and the first discoverer of it was… [White Dragon Breathing]"

"... you stink. Coincidence, isn't it?"

"It would be a coincidence that they became first discoverers, but we can conclude that all the victims were murdered by the same person"

"And what does that have to do with Cece and the others?

Diaz took a small piece of metal out of the bag and placed it in front of Ledo.

The black blood was creeping, and some more letters appeared to be engraved.

"You know what this is? It was discovered in a demonic Ajito. presumably the remnants of the killer."

"You look like some kind of weapon shard..."

"The research revealed that it was made of special metals."

"Say it without a shame"

Diaz staring straight at Redo. The will to not miss any reaction to that gaze seemed clear to Ledo.

"It's called [broken silver]. Analysis of this special character, which is supposedly only mined and refined in a certain country, further engraved - turns out to be the object used in the [Golden Church] classics. Undoubtedly, this metal belongs to the Siris Festival."

"Siris Festival Country..."

Redo had a certain girl's face on his face. Speaking of which, I also remembered that the letters were inscribed on her sickle.

"The Siris Festival State, although by no means a closed country… has not made any exports with regard to [silver broken]. It would undoubtedly be a weapon of the clergy class, including the inscription of letters used only in the Golden Church's classics."

"It could be something that was sold in the back deal, or it could be something that was taken. So it's dangerous to identify the killer as an associate of the Siris Festival State."

"I know, of course. However, the method of killing and its unusual modus operandi coincide with the characteristics of the dark (...) part (...) of the Siris Festival Nation"

Diaz continued his words without changing his expression.

"They call themselves [harvesters], they say. The harvester, though he prunes the lives of those who disobey the doctrine, and dedicates them to God. They have been educated in murder and assassination skills from an early age and serve the Church until their death. The weapons they use vary, but there are a lot of people who use the Great Sickle… it would be the right weapon for the name of the harvester."

Those were information not even Ledo knew. The Siris Festival State is by no means a closed country, as Diaz put it, but the Golden Church itself is a strict religion that does not recognise the followers of the exotic. Now that there is no radical teaching, I even thought there was no such thing as dark areas. I can't get enough information to make you think so.

"In conclusion, Diaz. I'm confused."

"I'm sorry. There are too many puzzling parts of this information to scrutinize. In conclusion, the culprit is probably [the harvester] … former [the harvester]. Considering the crimes committed by the demons in Azit, which we could not even grasp, he is undoubtedly an intertwined figure with the demons."

"I see... I mean, li (...) - (...) de (...) in (...) doubt (...) and (...) i (...) ru (...) wow (...) it's (...)"

Redo exhaled smoke and laughed.

"Good guess and helpful, but too evil to push. Even I don't think she did it. But there's no doubt that it's involved in some way. I looked through the past of all the members of [White Dragon's Breath], but she was the only one who had nothing to do before I got to this city... nothing came out. You know, the anomaly."

Diaz sighed.

Human beings without a past. Of course Ledo knew the anomaly.

"I knew Reede had something in her possession, and I didn't mean to pry... but I wish I'd heard this would happen."

"She disappeared last night without telling anyone. Perhaps that's what Cece and the others called you about."

"Right... damn, I refrained from undue interference, but did you get behind it?

"No, maybe this was happening either way. Okay, here's the point... I don't even seem to have to ask anymore, do you have any idea? About her past."

Redo desperately tries to remember about Reede from earlier, but all that floats is her slightly shady smile.

He wasn't a very self-assertive kid... but now that I think about her, Redo realized he didn't know one thing about her.

But the only one. Just one thing I care about, no, she cared about something.

"He said... he came to this city to find someone. He said he wished he could see him by the time he died, but for that matter, sometimes in the middle of the night, he went out into the city at night, and he seemed to be searching hard for something, someone. I don't know because I haven't been involved much lately..."

"Looker... I guess that has something to do with the past and this case"

"Probably. Anyway, it seems faster to get Reede himself."

"Can you help me? Of course I'll reward you."

That's what Diaz asked Redo, half sure of the answer.

"Naturally. He's my apprentice."

When Redo said just that, he stood up and just tried to get out of the room saying he was done talking.

"Redo, I think you know, once the place on fire is completely quenched again - burning (...) eh (...) ru (...). There have been a lot of rumors lately that it's not good. Something terrible could happen again."

"I know. I've been going over a lot of things lately, too. Maybe I could use your help someday."

"Oh, say it anytime. Send Emilia as soon as you know what it is."

Hearing that, Redo walked out of the room.

Diaz sighed again when he saw the report coming up to him.

"[Dragon Hunting], [Harvester], and... the Demon Clan"

The more I pushed Mirazelle, my boss, and she didn't even want to go on vacation, the more Diaz was pioneering that the city was getting into trouble again.

The request for that day was a relatively simple one, so I left it to Irene and Ellios and Cece to start a one-man reed search.

Stretch your legs into a downtown area that you haven't usually set foot in.

During the day and yesterday, the streets were idle due to a series of street demons.

I don't know where Reede is. But Cece knew that Reede sometimes leaves the room in the middle of the night and goes somewhere. And the next morning, Reede smelled slightly of cigarettes and booze. From there, I speculated that maybe he was going downtown.

"Where are you... reede..."

Sheath's grievous whining was, however, scratched off by the metal noise he heard on the wind.

…… Fight...... are you?

Cece rushes. I heard something in the back alley that sounded like a fight.

Sheath heading at full speed to the audible. Proceed cleverly avoiding empty bottles and debris that are falling.

Behind the back alley was a little square. In that square where Cece jumped in. But there was no sign of Reede.

"Oh, here comes the funny guy again"

Instead staring happily at Cece was a red-haired beauty in a black biscuit dress.

"That's a lot of room to spare."

One young man in dark haired light armor waves a black sword to the beauty's neck as he says so.

A ferocious blade looming fast enough to catch even a good eyed sheath.

"Danger!"

Cece walks out of the axe sword. But the beauty only had a fierce grin.

"Actually, I can afford it."

The blade stopped a little in front of the beauty's neck though. If you look, a beautiful woman had her left index finger up and that was all she had to prevent the blade.

I had no idea what force and what skin stiffness would stop that slash with one finger on the sheath, as did the person who shook the blade.

"With your fingers?... Ariem."

A young man with a black sword back moves into a poking position this time, but a sheath jumps in front of the beautiful woman.

"What are you doing! I can't believe I'm waving a sword at a woman without weapons."

"Get out of the way, kid. I need to talk to that woman. Eliminate if you want to interrupt."

"Shh, shh, shh."

The young man unleashed a relentless poke at Cece at the same time as the beauty behind him screamed funny.

"Fast!"

Cece waves the axe sword at the man while sidestepping and avoiding its thrust. Adjust the additions and subtractions so they don't hit deep...... think that far and Cece figured it was stupid.

"You're only too late."

From the state of releasing the thrust, the young man played straight back to Cece's axe sword as soon as he returned the sword.

A beautiful woman whistled behind her back at its not too fast and useless movement.

"Oh... I'll do it"

Though not at full strength, Cece, who was played the blow of an axe sword, had a startling look on his face, and understood that he was not a good opponent to play with.

A youth kick is hit by a sheath full of axe swords being played. Kicked with so much force I don't think people do, Cece blows to the sidelines.

"Kaha."

Impact enough to cause bones to fall into the illusion of crushing even from above the armor.

But Sheath, too, dexterously changed his posture in the air and landed. Kick the ground.

"Hmm, not only is swordsmanship a human being away from physical surgery. Human moves have evolved over time."

Beauty plays with her fingers the blow of a young man returning with a slash by a black sword, not words, to the analysis of a beauty in the audience mood.

"Damn... so much so... is there a difference"

All the serial attacks of the repentant youth are caught with one finger.

To the sheath that turned behind him, the young man turned around and released a horizontal giraffe.

Sheath, who took it with an axe sword, steps on it.

Anyway, this young man's blow is too heavy. Yet why can that beauty prevent that heavy and fast slaughter with one finger? Cece had already begun to think of that beautiful woman as someone to be wary of, too.

"Well. Should I leave this for play? Then we'll play again."

When the beautiful woman said so, she tried to escape the scene.

"You think I'll let you get away with it!

"It's not good to ramble on a weak beauty."

A young man approaches a beautiful woman, but suddenly stops moving and backsteps heavily. He exposed his back indefensibly, even if there was a sheath right around the corner, just staring at the beautiful woman.

The beautiful woman had a little black fire in her right hand.

Cece doesn't know what that is, but as soon as she saw it, sweat erupted from all over her body.

"What, that"

"Stupid...... no way subordinate...... books (...) people (...) or (...)?"

Seeing, the youth was also sweating. Sheath felt a similar emotion in fright from this young man so strong by then, but he could not make a fool of it.

It's just a little fire...... more than anything I've ever seen - fear (...) lol (...) and (...) yes (...).

"Dude, what happened to the momentum just now? Don't freak out on such a tiny fire, lads."

Beauty laughs.

Cece was finally able to see the face of the beauty seriously there. I thought it was the most beautiful face I've ever seen from Cece, a woman, but most importantly, it was those golden eyes that caught my eye. The pupil is longitudinal and I can tell it's not a person.

"That... the hell..."

"There's a kid out there who doesn't know anything... that's... not a good area for people to get their hands on"

"I'm not a kid! I'm Cece."

The beautiful woman who heard it distorted her face. It was a vicious enough grin to unconsciously backstep the youth and Cece and even try to distance them from the beauty.

"I see... to the heroic sheath of the border, the dragon hunting lore? That's good. That's funny. But it's another time to play for real. I don't have much time. Bye!"

When a beautiful woman turns her gaze as she calls each name, she flies when she kicks the ground leaving only that behind. It quickly disappeared to the other side of the roof.

The young man did not seek to follow it, but put his sword in his sheath.

"Well, you're the hero of the border. That's a nice place to miss expectations."

"Who are you?"

A nagging sheath glared at the youth without yet serving the axe sword.

"It's lore. [Dragon hunting] What do they call it? Look, Cece, that was my prey earlier. That qualifies as a brave man. Why am I not interested. Except for that woman. The next time I stand in your way - now it's time to eliminate it. Remember."

Youth - When Lore says that, he leaves the spot.

The only thing Cece could do was drop it off.

"... no... not at all... I couldn't stand my teeth"

Cece wasn't serious either. I didn't even use the power of [Hakufu], this axe sword that was new with the sword ceded from Sain.

But I'm sure Lower was with me that I didn't mean it, and Cece didn't want to understand that she was better than herself at the moment.

"I need to find Reede..."

But Lore and that mysterious beauty and - and that black fire like the one that burned the night - never got out of Cece's head.
