Nan Zishi’s expression darkened when she saw the two little cubs covered in injuries.

Even though she, Hu Bai, and his son accepted Little Snake Yang, it was obvious Stone Village did not.

Little Fox Qi was a loyal and kind-hearted cub, and for them, making him abandon Little Snake Yang was absolutely out of the question.

Little Fox Qi and Little Snake Yang were both good kids. To be beaten up so senselessly... there was no way she was going to let this slide without getting payback!

The single Male Beastmen of Stone Village had already started to murmur amongst themselves.

"What a beautiful young female! She’s not from our Stone Village, is she?"

"The females of our Fox Clan are already very beautiful. To think there’s one who’s even prettier."

"Is she from the Mermaid Clan? I heard their females are also very beautiful."

"So pretty. But the little female is frowning. What’s troubling her?"

These Male Beastmen hadn’t even properly met Nan Zishi, yet they were already starting to feel sorry for her.

One particularly bold Male Fox Beastman even approached her.

A sixteen-year-old male, Hu An, boldly stepped forward. "Hello," he said politely. "I’m Hu An, the Fox Beastman who warned you at the entrance to Fox Bai’s Cave. It’s a pleasure to meet you."

Nan Zishi barely registered his words. As she turned her head, Hu An’s expression suddenly changed. Three Beast Patterns materialized on his skin—he was a Three-striped Beast Warrior!

"Beautiful female, may I ask, are you willing to become my mate?"

Despite Hu An’s young age, his mating proposal didn’t seem strange to the other males in Stone Village. Instead, they began to discuss it amongst themselves.

"I heard Hu An awakened a Sub-high-level Bloodline. He was already a Two-Striped Beast Warrior when he awakened, and now he’s actually advanced to a Three-striped Beast Warrior."

"He’s a truly rare genius. A female probably wouldn’t refuse a proposal from a genius like him, right?"

It was as if all the males had forgotten about the cubs’ fight; their attention had shifted entirely to Nan Zishi.

Under the watch of all the Beastmen, Nan Zishi’s expression shifted repeatedly.

She spoke with some awkwardness, "I’m sorry. You’re wonderful and very talented, but... I’m not willing."

Nan Zishi had lived in the Beast World for a year and knew that Beastmen were very single-minded. A gentle refusal would only make them think you were playing around; a rejection had to be direct.

The Male Beastmen were all shocked.

"A sixteen-year-old Three-striped Beast Warrior... rejected?"

"Hu An is handsome, has great potential, and a boundless future. And she doesn’t even want a Beastman like that?"

"Then how powerful must her Beast Husbands be!"

Hu Bai’s gaze shifted to Nan Zishi, a questioning look in his eyes.

Hu An’s beast ears drooped. "Do you think I’m too young? I’ll grow up fast..."

Unconvinced, he reached out to grab Nan Zishi.

Hu Bai stepped around Nan Zishi to stand in front of her, swatting Hu An’s hand away.

His tone was glacial. "She already refused you. Move."

Hu An was already furious at being rejected, and Hu Bai blocking him only made it worse.

"Hu Bai, you’re a male with a female master! Fox Zi is pursuing you and you won’t agree, so what gives you the right to protect another female?! In Stone Village, unfaithful males are drowned in pig cages!"

Hu Bai’s expression grew even colder. He stood firmly in front of Nan Zishi, not yielding an inch. "You want to fight? After we settle things with Fox Qi, I’ll fight you."

Nan Zishi paid the dispute no mind. She pushed through the brawling cubs and pulled Fox Qi and Little Snake Yang from the fray.

With a female now involved, the little fox cubs didn’t dare to keep fighting.

They stood to one side, accusing Fox Qi.

"Female, why are you protecting them? He’s harboring a stray Snake Beastman. He deserves a beating!"

"That’s right! Fox Qi doesn’t have a mother, so he’s gone bad. He’s actually playing with a stray Snake Beastman!"

"Fox Qi’s Beast Slave of a father is about to die from sickness, too. Soon he won’t have a mother or a father!"

"He has neither a mother nor a father to teach him. He’s just a bad cub!"

The cub’s words were vicious, clearly taught to him by someone else.

"Who taught you to speak like that?" Nan Zishi’s face darkened, her expression icy.

Seeing the female’s anger, the little Fox Beastmen froze.

After all, their upbringing had always taught them that you could offend a male, but you must *never* offend a female—and the prettier the female, the more you couldn’t afford to.

The prettier a female was, the more outstanding males would pursue her, and she would definitely have a group of powerful males protecting her.

And the female before them... was indeed very beautiful.

Even the great Hu An was rejected when he tried to pursue her. So she must have an incredibly strong and powerful male protecting her.

And so, the little fox cubs all started to pass the buck.

Little Fox Qi had so many things he wanted to protect.

He wanted to protect his father, he wanted to protect She Yang, he wanted to protect the pretty lady...

And... and he didn’t want the pretty lady to know that their status in Stone Village was so low, or that he was so pathetic...

He didn’t know why, but he just really liked the pretty lady and didn’t want to leave a bad impression on her.

"My mother may not be here, but my father taught me! My father raised me well. You’re the ones who are bad!" Little Fox Qi stared them down.

"You bully the weak and throw your power around! You’re not good cubs!"

Following the outburst from the little Fox Beastman, Fox Qi, the scene fell silent.

The attention of the adult Fox Beastmen and the cubs all fell on him.

Nan Zishi’s heart softened. She understood what Fox Qi wanted to protect. She knelt down and pulled him into an embrace, pressing his head against her shoulder.

"Don’t be afraid. I believe you."

"Mmm-hmm," Fox Qi’s voice was muffled, on the verge of tears.

In this world, the female was the core of a family. When males joined with a female, they could form a more powerful unit within that family, thus banding together for strength.

Powerful families were not easily bullied, but Beastmen like Hu Bai and his son, who had been abandoned by their female master, were alone and thus extremely vulnerable to bullying.

Nan Zishi began to curse the female who had abandoned the father and son in her heart.

’Look at the fine mess you’ve made, leaving this father and son to live so miserably.’

Beastmen loved a spectacle, and it wasn’t long before an even larger crowd gathered to watch.

A few female Beastmen even brought their mates along to join the spectacle.

A charming and seductive female, surrounded by a throng of male Fox Beastmen, made her presence known with her voice before she even arrived.

"Hu Bai, I heard your Fox Qi caused trouble again. Honestly, how do you raise that cub of yours? He’s always getting into trouble."

"Look at you—your health is poor, and you were even sold as a Beast Slave by your female master, yet I’ve never looked down on you. You have a disobedient cub who causes trouble every day, and I’ve never looked down on you for that, either. Where else would you find a female as gentle and magnanimous as me?"

"Join my family, and I’ll help you discipline your cub. I promise to treat him like my own—I’ll beat him when he needs it and teach him when he needs it. I guarantee your Fox Qi won’t be causing trouble all the time."
