Chapter 74: Little Female, At Least You’re Not Blind
It was a clear, sunny day.
Nan Zishi emerged from her tent to a pleasant view of the sea.
Before she could admire the coastal scenery for long, her handsome Beast Husband walked over.
Hu Bai had already picked several coconuts. He smiled and handed her one he had opened. "Female master, the juice inside this fruit is drinkable. Would you like to try it?"
Nan Zishi’s eyes lit up. She took the coconut and drank from it in big gulps.
"This is delicious!"
Meanwhile, Lanxing was gathering small sea creatures near the shoreline. He popped his head out of the water, holding up a few, and waved at Nan Zishi.
Nan Zishi waved back at Lanxing, who then deftly dove back into the sea.
Nan Zishi played with Little Lao Liu off to the side. Little Lao Liu was growing quickly, and its crawling speed had increased.
The moment Lanxing surfaced, his massive, blue-purple fishtail slapped against the coast, tracing a beautiful arc across the water and kicking up a spray of waves.
Lanxing swam back to the beach, holding the seafood he had found.
"Sister! Time for seafood!"
Nan Zishi looked excitedly at the seafood in his arms. "Lanxing, what did you bring back?"
Seeing Nan Zishi’s radiant smile, Lanxing smiled back. "Lots of things. There are sea urchins, the caviar you like... and many other things you enjoy."
Upon hearing this, Nan Zishi smiled and called out to the cubs, "Aqi, Little Yang’er, Fufu~ Come and get some seafood!"
The three little ones came running over in their own unique ways.
"Mommy!"
"Mo-mommy~"
"HISS HISS!"
The two males sat down casually to the side. Little Fu sat on Lanxing’s lap, and Fox Qi sat in Hu Bai’s arms. Little Yang’er clung to Nan Zishi.
The little cubs craned their necks, looking on eagerly.
As the head of the family, Nan Zishi began to distribute the food.
"Who should go first? Haha, of course, our cutest little cub, Little Fu. Little Fu, which ones do you like? Pick them yourself."
Little Fu was delighted. She waved her chubby little hands and grabbed two of her favorite sea urchins, then asked Nan Zishi for wasabi.
"Mommy~ Sabi~"
Nan Zishi put the wasabi into a stone bowl.
After Little Fu had taken her seafood, Nan Zishi let Fox Qi and Little Yang’er choose theirs.
After Fox Qi and Little Yang’er had taken their share, the rest of the seafood was for Lanxing, Hu Bai, and Nan Zishi.
She could eat raw fish in the water, but on land, she wanted something cooked.
So, she crushed some garlic, built a fire, and retrieved a griddle from her dimensional space to start making teppanyaki.
She poured oil on the griddle. Her seasonings from the dimensional space were limited, so Nan Zishi took out slices of garlic, crushed them, and pushed them into the circle of sizzling oil.
Once the aroma of the garlic was released, she tossed in the seafood.
The unique savory, salty flavor of the seafood was elevated on the hot griddle!
SLURP. One sniff and it was incredibly fragrant!
Nan Zishi also crushed and fried a lot of garlic, placed it on scallops and other shellfish, and then roasted them in the fire to make grilled garlic scallops.
Before long, the aroma of the garlic scallops wafted out.
SLURP. One sniff, and it was just as fragrant as before!
Little Fox Qi, who had never eaten seafood this way, was practically drooling. He asked cautiously, "Mommy, can I eat this? I want to try..."
"Of course, you can!" Nan Zishi also shared the seafood meal she had prepared.
"You’re growing cubs. Eat as much as you can. You have to eat a lot to grow tall and strong."
Hu Bai was a quick study. After watching a few times, he got the hang of it. He smiled at Nan Zishi and said, "Female master, let me do it."
"Okay." Nan Zishi handed the role of chef over to Hu Bai, who began to cook.
Meanwhile, Nan Zishi was in charge of adding seasonings and distributing the food.
The cubs all ate happily.
It was a pleasant family meal, but halfway through, Nan Zishi suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. She abruptly turned to look behind her.
"What’s wrong?" Hu Bai asked.
’It feels like someone is watching me.’
But the feeling was fleeting and disappeared just as quickly.
Nan Zishi said, "It was probably just my imagination."
Nan Zishi smiled and went back to handing out food.
In the tall grass, a large, black snake slithered slowly.

After the meal, Hu Bai went to clean up, with the cubs happily helping.
Lanxing took Little Fu to play near the ocean’s edge.
Nan Zishi noticed some fruit in the woods, so she headed into the forest by herself.
She scrambled up a large tree in a few quick moves. Just as she picked a piece of fruit and was about to climb down...
...she suddenly saw a large, yellowish-brown snake in the tree!
The snake’s body was as thick as a bowl, and its fangs were sharp. It reared up, and the hood on its back suddenly flared open, revealing a pair of venomous-looking false eyes!
Goosebumps instantly erupted all over Nan Zishi’s skin!
To be fair, she wasn’t afraid of She Yang, but that was because she knew he was a Snake Beastman—which meant he was basically a person.
Besides, he was tiny, just a little thing with no real power to harm her.
But the creature before her was a wild animal! A highly venomous cobra, and a massive one at that!

Nan Zishi felt her hands begin to tremble. She rummaged through her dimensional space, searching for something to deal with the snake.
’Don’t provoke it. I can’t provoke it.’
"HISS HISS." The giant cobra took an attack stance.
Every muscle in Nan Zishi’s body tensed up.
Nan Zishi vaguely remembered something she had learned before. If you encounter a venomous snake, don’t panic. Stay still and slowly back away while facing it.
’But that’s impossible!’
’I’m in a tree right now; there’s no room to retreat!’
’I have to prepare to fight.’
Nan Zishi pulled an Anesthetic Gun from her dimensional space, her forehead covered in cold sweat.
"HISS!" The cobra’s body, coiled like a bow, suddenly shot toward her!
Nan Zishi immediately leaped down from her branch to another one below.
The giant cobra pursued her!

She missed. She quickly fired two more shots! BANG! BANG!
Finally, a hit!
After being hit by the anesthetic dart, the giant cobra’s body coiled into a ball.
After landing on another branch, Nan Zishi quickly scrambled down the tree.
’Thank goodness. I need to get back, now.’
But just then, from the grass behind her, the massive tail of an even larger, black python shot out like lightning and wrapped around her!
Ensnared by such a huge tail, Nan Zishi’s pupils dilated as terror instantly consumed her!
"Hu Bai, Lanxing!" In her terror, Nan Zishi couldn’t help but scream for help.
"Help me!!"
The next moment, however, the snake’s tail covered her mouth and began dragging her deeper into the forest.
Hearing Nan Zishi’s cry for help, Hu Bai instantly dropped what he was holding!
He transformed into his fox form and sprinted in her direction! "Female master!"
Seeing that something was wrong, Lanxing also got out of the water. His pace was slow after he transformed to have human legs, but he was frantic.
He ran as fast as he could, shouting after her, "Sister!"
The Xuan Cold-blooded Snake Beastman glanced back disdainfully, a clear look of contempt in his eyes. His large tail hooked around Nan Zishi, carrying her forward quickly!
It didn’t take long for Nan Zishi to realize the snake holding her was not a wild beast, but a Snake Beastman—and an old acquaintance at that.
"Xuan Jin?"
The great snake’s head glanced at her. Its forked tongue flicked out to lightly lick her neck as it whispered, "Little female, so you’re not blind after all."
