Chapter 210: The Psycho Wife
Rather than answering, the system responded in its own way.
[Calculating previous day’s emotions...]
His eyes remained fixed on the floating dots, each passing second feeling like a countdown to his impending doom.
At the same time, he could clearly feel Aurielle’s arms tightening—slowly, almost imperceptibly—around his neck.
Just enough to remind him that his life currently depended on his next few words.
[Emotions Calculated: Angry / Jealous / Wants to strangle someone’s neck.]
"..."
Luke’s mouth twitched.
’System you added that last one yourself, didn’t you?’
Naturally, the system ignored his accusation.
Instead, another notification appeared.
[New Emotion Detected: *Natal Obsession.*]
[Please develop this emotion completely to unlock the next milestone.]
"..."
Luke’s expression immediately turned blank.
’You’ve got to be kidding me.’
He could already feel Aurielle’s fingers slowly tightening around his neck.
And the system wanted him to develop that emotion even further?
’System if you’re upset with me for something, just say it.’
’Don’t gamble with my life like this, buddy.’
Luke’s face immediately darkened.
"System who asked you to show me that?"
The System, however, acted as though it hadn’t heard a single word.
Instead, it silently enlarged the screen.
[Aurielle’s Thoughts:]
*So the womanizer title was actually accurate.*
*If he can’t give me one convincing reason for disappearing from our bed in the middle of the night.*
*And then returning with another woman.*
*I won’t let him off this time.*
---
’Ok, that’s some dangerous thought.’ Luke sighed slowly, because the system was even making him feel that he was having an affair behind his back.
Meanwhile, inside Lucy’s mind, another thought was going on.
’The psycho wife of Sir Luke.’ She thought about the rumors, how he had married five psycho wives who had never let any men touch them.
But now Sir Luke was handling all of them.
Aurora, who was hiding behind one of the bushes, saw all of this. That how her innocent master would be sacrificed by that crazy woman.
And if she knew Lucy’s thought, she would totally agree with her.
At this time, Luke’s gaze turned and met her for a moment. Hope was born in Luke’s heart.
That Aurora could save him, but Aurora turned her gaze away from him.
’Sorry, master. I don’t want to attend those bad Noble etiquette classes.’ So she sacrificed her master to the crazy woman.
Seeing this, Luke’s eyes filled with betrayal, but no one could come to help him.
As on one tall tree, Vaelira was calmly sitting and was adding another name to her list.
’Lucy Dawnwale, master’s another victim of the womanizer.’
"Master’s womanizer skills seem to have developed, even those outside people are talking about this title."
She muttered under her breath with a thoughtful expression.
But she didn’t know that there was Sophia as well, or another name would be added to that list.
Well, it would be in the future, even if it missed this time.
Luke realized there was no one else around. Letting out a small, helpless smile, he replied in the gentlest voice he could manage.
"Honey, I was just patrolling the territory."
"Ohh~ And why would the great lord personally patrol his territory, in the middle of the dead of night~?"
Her sweet, drawn-out tone sent a chill down Luke’s spine.
Danger.
His instincts screamed at him.
He didn’t hesitate. He chose the simplest. And most effective solution.
"Eek!"
Aurielle let out a startled yelp as Luke suddenly swept her off her feet into a princess carry.
"W-Wait—Luke!"
WHOOSH!
Before she could finish, his figure blurred, carrying her straight toward their house.
Aurora watched the direction they had disappeared for a few seconds before shaking her head.
"Master is going to do that thing again, the one that makes that crazy woman keep shouting in all kinds of voices."
She muttered under her breath.
Fortunately.
No one else heard her.
---
Finally, after several hours of coaxing, apologizing, and an exhausting amount of "hard work," in the bed. Which wet the whole bedsheet, Luke managed to calm Aurielle down.
She now lay quietly on the bed, sleeping peacefully, not a single complaint leaving her lips anymore.
"Huff..." Luke let out a long breath before getting out of bed.
"She lasted much longer this time." A surprised expression appeared on his face.
’Looks like after failing to find me, she spent quite a while training inside the Time Chamber.’ Luke thought to himself as he headed toward the bath.
"System, since Aurielle unlocked a new emotion, shouldn’t I receive a better reward this time?" he asked hopefully.
The system’s mocking voice immediately echoed in his mind.
[Oh?]
[Wasn’t someone saying earlier that he didn’t want her to become obsessive?]
[And now you’re asking for rewards?]
[🤨]
Luke’s footsteps paused. "That’s different."
[Different how?]
Luke coughed awkwardly. "I was speaking from a purely objective perspective."
[Sure you were.]
[(¬‿¬)]
"..."
Luke silently decided that arguing with the system was a complete waste of time.
"Ahem." So he coughed lightly, trying to dispel the awkwardness.
The system ignored his reaction and calmly answered his question.
[That emotion has not fully matured yet.]
[Only after it completely develops will the corresponding rewards be granted.]
Hearing that, Luke’s eyelid twitched.
’So I got excited for nothing?’
He felt as though the system had deliberately tricked him.
Just as he was about to argue. Another notification suddenly appeared before his eyes.
[10x Return Activated]
Reward: Greatswordsman (E-Rank Human Warrior) ×10 (×100 Basic Multiplier)
[REWARD DESCRIPTION]
"A tall warrior clad in full plate armor, wielding a greatsword as tall as a grown man. Slow but unstoppable. Every swing cuts through enemies like wheat before a scythe."
"Hmm..." Luke rubbed his chin thoughtfully, his earlier dissatisfaction disappearing almost instantly.
"That actually looks pretty useful."
As it seemed the system was increasing the variety of its rewards.
Then his gaze shifted to the upgrade option as he weighed the two choices.
One thousand Bronze Knights? or ten Silver Knights?
He still had the option to upgrade the reward.
After thinking for a moment, Luke recalled the current state of his army. He already possessed a large number of Iron Knights, and after spending time training inside the Time Chamber, many of them were already on the verge of breaking through to the Bronze Knight realm.
On top of that, the Iron Knight Tempering Potions were accelerating their progress even further.
’Bronze Knights, I’ll have plenty of them soon.’
’Silver Knights, however, were a different story.’
He nodded to himself.
