Chapter 103: Accusation
Bai Zhi quickly dried off, wrapped herself in a bathrobe, washed her face, and applied some skincare products before walking out.
Sang Mo was sitting on the bed, leaning against the headboard and scrolling through something on his Light Computer. His brows were knitted, though it was unclear what he was looking at. When he heard the bathroom door open, he looked up from the device.
His eyes held a natural coldness as he looked at Bai Zhi. Under his stare, her steps faltered. She instinctively tightened her bathrobe, pursed her lips, and then slowly walked toward the bed.
Sang Mo observed her movements. "Are you nervous?"
Bai Zhi was speechless. "...Anyone would be nervous with you staring at them like that!"
Sang Mo nodded. "Then you’d better get used to it."
Bai Zhi: "..."
’Can I take it back?!’
’Once a month was definitely a better idea!’
’He really had a way of making it impossible for her to go through with this, even with the lights off!’
’What a waste of such a handsome face!’
’No, it’s a perfectly good face, but it just had to come with a mouth!’
Bai Zhi took a deep breath, walked straight over to turn off the light, and then got into bed.
In the darkness, Sang Mo’s breathing was so light it was almost inaudible.
Just as Bai Zhi was mentally preparing herself, something cold suddenly touched her hand. It startled her, and she flinched, instinctively snatching her hand back.
But a moment later, that cold thing gripped her arm, and then his entire body was covering hers.
Only then did Bai Zhi realize that the cold ’thing’ that had touched her was Sang Mo’s hand.
’I can’t believe his body temperature is this low. It would probably be nice in the summer, but unfortunately, it’s almost winter now.’
Sang Mo noticed her body tremble slightly. In the darkness, his eyes, cold and devoid of any emotion, stared down at the person beneath him. "Are you cold?"
Bai Zhi didn’t mention that she had just been startled by the sudden cold, a subconscious reaction. "Yes, your body temperature is too low."
Sang Mo’s body temperature wasn’t extremely low, just a bit lower than a normal person’s.
After all, snakes are cold-blooded animals with low body temperatures.
Hearing this, and perhaps because he still needed Bai Zhi to increase his spiritual power, Sang Mo took the rare step of activating his superpower, raising his surface body temperature to a normal level.
Bai Zhi suddenly felt the skin touching hers gradually grow warmer. She was a little surprised. ’So he can maintain a steady temperature?!’
The next second, Sang Mo began his assault, utterly lacking in technique. To avoid getting hurt, Bai Zhi could only guide him gently.
Since it was his first time, it was over quickly.
Sang Mo looked displeased, but he soon started a second round.
As he got the hang of it, he began to explore.
Everything went rather smoothly. Although it was a little uncomfortable at first, the experience improved later on.
But what she never expected was that after the first time was over, everything changed!
Because satisfying one desire only revealed another... which meant that much more was needed to satisfy both at once.
’I can’t believe those animal documentaries weren’t lying!’
’I always thought they were exaggerating, but reality just gave me a harsh lesson!’
Bai Zhi’s voice was soft and unsteady as she pushed at him. "That’s... enough... I can’t take any more..."
Sang Mo said calmly, "Last time."
Bai Zhi retorted, annoyed, "You said that last time!"
When that didn’t work, she softened her voice. "Sang Mo... my back is sore..."
Sang Mo paid her no mind at first, but in the next second, a strange reaction in his body made him go rigid, and it was over in an instant.
Sang Mo: "..."
He looked at Bai Zhi with a complicated expression.
In the darkness, Bai Zhi’s lips curled in a smug smile, her glistening eyes full of mischief.
But she didn’t know that Sang Mo could see her expression clearly in the dark, and her coy look was imprinted in his mind.
His Adam’s apple bobbed. Unable to resist, he reached out, tilted her chin up, and kissed her.
Bai Zhi’s glistening eyes flew wide. ’Sang Mo didn’t kiss me at all before, so why is he kissing me now that we’re done?’
Sang Mo didn’t know what came over him either. He’d just had a sudden impulse. But the feeling tonight had been far more wonderful than he’d anticipated.
’I never thought physical contact between two people could feel so good, like a current running through me, making me tingle all over.’
He’d never understood the appeal of such things, especially kissing. Just the thought of it used to make him physically uncomfortable, but... it didn’t seem to be as unpleasant as he had imagined.
Sang Mo didn’t release her until she was nearly out of breath.
A thin, silvery strand connected them for a moment as they parted.
Sang Mo’s breathing was ragged. Bai Zhi was sore and limp all over, utterly exhausted. She lay on the bed, not wanting to move a muscle.
Just before falling asleep, Bai Zhi thought she faintly heard the System say something, but she was too exhausted to pay attention and drifted off.
「The next day.」
Bai Zhi woke up in Hu Yan’s private residence on the Main Star.
Bai Zhi woke to find herself in a luxurious room. The bed was unfamiliar, the place was unfamiliar, and even though the decor was magnificent, the strangeness of it all gave her a fright.
Bai Zhi called out nervously, "Sang Mo? Hu Yan?"
But the empty room only echoed with her own voice.
She scrambled out of bed and ran out without even putting on her shoes, only to crash right into the arms of Hu Yan, who was just coming in to see if she was awake.
"OOF—"
Bai Zhi slammed into Hu Yan’s chest. The impact nearly sent her stumbling backward, but Hu Yan reacted in a flash, his arms shooting out to steady her.
Clutching her head, she looked up from his arms to see his exasperated smile. He reached out to gently rub her reddened forehead. "Why were you running so fast? Are you hurt?"
The moment she saw it was Hu Yan, she forgot all about the pain and threw herself into his arms.
A wave of grievance washed over Bai Zhi, and she began to cry, letting out not just her current fear but also the pent-up anxiety from when she first transmigrated into the book. "Hu Yan..." she sobbed accusatorily, "Where did you all go? Where are we?"
When she first transmigrated, she had just died and had no one to lean on, so she had always managed to at least appear accepting of her situation, no matter what happened.
But now, she had come to see Hu Yan and Sang Mo as people she could rely on. That was why seeing him in this strange place made her so emotional.
Hu Yan hadn’t expected such an emotional reaction from her. He hugged her back. "I’m sorry. We scared you."
Bai Zhi clutched his shirt, refusing to let go. Her emotions only stabilized after a little while. She then pulled back slightly, putting some distance between them.
Her eyes were still red-rimmed and misty. "I woke up in a strange place all by myself," she complained.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t think of that." As Hu Yan spoke, his gaze fell on her bare feet. His brow furrowed, and his tone grew stern. "Why aren’t you wearing any shoes?"
