Chapter 130: My Beast Husband is Jealous and Throwing a Tantrum? What Can I Do But Spoil Him?
Sang Mo had been thinking they had enough people already. One more would mean another day he’d have to share. But when Yan Yichen and Yue Junxiao beat the man up, Sang Mo offered a rare compliment, "Nicely done."
Yue Junxiao shot Sang Mo a smug look, raising an eyebrow.
Lang Qiu nodded at them as well. "Just be more mindful of the location next time. This doesn’t look good."
Hearing Lang Qiu, the two of them nodded with genuine earnestness. "Got it. We’ll pick a more deserted spot next time."
Hearing this, Bai Zhi stared at them in utter shock. "...??"
’What’s going on today? Why is everyone so united on this?’
’Even Sang Mo, who usually couldn’t care less, and Lang Qiu, who’s always so prudent, are on board. Lang Qiu even suggested they pick a less crowded place next time!’
Just then, the Beastman on the floor clutched his swollen face and pointed a trembling finger at Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen. "You’re only doing this because you’re afraid I’ll steal her affection from you!"
Bai Zhi: "..."
’I didn’t get a good look at him, but his behavior just now was more than enough to turn my stomach. Forget stealing anyone’s affection; even if Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen hadn’t laid a hand on him, I never would have accepted him.’
’I just couldn’t stomach the thought of watching such a greasy guy parade around in front of me every day. I’d genuinely lose my appetite.’
’Still, it’s pretty amusing to see my Beast Husbands get jealous.’
’What’s a girl to do when her own Beast Husbands get jealous? Spoil them, of course.’
So Bai Zhi tilted her head, peering past the two ’great mountains’ in front of her to address the Beastman on the floor. "I do apologize that they beat you up like this. But what can you do? I’m the one who spoiled them, and I happen to like that they’re not pretentious. As for what you said about stealing their affection, I feel I need to correct you."
"First of all, I have absolutely no interest in greasy guys, and you just so happen to be my least favorite type. Secondly, you’re a bit too old for my taste. I like them younger. So even if they hadn’t beaten you, you’d have zero chance of becoming my Beast Husband. Still, to satisfy them, I suppose I should give you a proper rejection. So, I’m terribly sorry, but I already have five Beast Husbands. I’m quite fond of them and have no intention of taking any others."
Hearing Bai Zhi’s words, the Beastman’s already bruised and swollen face went from pale to livid. His lips trembled as he finally stammered, "You... all of you... I’m going to report them for assault!"
’He couldn’t do anything to Bai Zhi, but surely he could deal with her Beast Husbands?!’
At that, Bai Zhi’s brow furrowed slightly. She adopted a serious expression and said, "If you insist on that path, then I’ll have to report you to the Female Alliance for the mental and physical distress your earlier words and actions have caused me."
The Beastman was instantly indignant. "When did I ever harm you? I was a whole two meters away!"
Bai Zhi replied, "Your behavior overstimulated my eyes, causing them injury. Or to put it plainly: you burned my eyes."
Hearing Bai Zhi’s words, the Beastman was so furious he was rendered speechless.
’This was the first time anyone had ever said his appearance burned their eyes!’
Hearing Bai Zhi’s words and seeing the state their opponent had been angered into, Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen burst out laughing.
Yan Yichen was even more direct. "HAHAHAHA, My Lady, that was brilliant! Why didn’t I think of that?!"
Yue Junxiao was doubled over laughing, clutching his stomach and pointing at the Beastman. "My Lady, you described it perfectly! He really does burn the eyes!"
Even Lang Qiu’s face broke into a smile.
Among the surrounding Beastman onlookers, those without a stake in the matter all started laughing along.
One or two others wore complex expressions, immensely relieved that they hadn’t stepped forward earlier. Otherwise, they would be the ones being ridiculed right now.
Seeing them all mock him, the Beastman on the ground scrambled to his feet, shot everyone a venomous glare, and dragged his injured body away.
The shop’s security guards had noticed the altercation immediately but made no move. After all, Bai Zhi had just spent a hundred million Star Coins in their store, whereas the other Beastman had visited several times without ever making a purchase. They knew which customer was more important.
Besides, their boss had been present for some time now without saying a word, giving them even less reason to intervene.
As long as no one died, it wasn’t a major issue.
Bai Zhi walked over to the man who she presumed was the owner, who had entered the shop when the fight broke out. "I’m so sorry for causing this kind of trouble in your shop," she said apologetically. "I’ll cover all the damages."
The owner was a little surprised to hear her words. "How did you know I’m the owner of this shop?"
Bai Zhi smiled. "Just a guess. But it seems I guessed right."
The owner glanced at the toppled items. "The damages to my shop are negligible. The profit I made from your purchase is more than enough to cover it."
Bai Zhi was taken aback, not expecting the owner to say that.
Someone else might have said something about considering it a favor to a new friend, or simply demanded a specific amount of Star Coins for compensation. This owner, however, didn’t follow the usual script.
’After all, if a shop isn’t for making money, what’s the point of opening one?’
She couldn’t tell if the owner was being sincere or something else, but it gave Bai Zhi a rather good impression of him.
Bai Zhi smiled. "Then thank you for your generosity, sir."
With that, Bai Zhi left with her Beast Husbands.
Just then, one of the shop’s security guards came over. "Boss, what should we do with the items that got scuffed?"
Hearing this, the owner stared after the departing group for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled.
He finally understood how Bai Zhi had recognized him.
’She must have noticed how they all looked to him for a reaction when the fight broke out.’
Thinking about the incident, the owner watched Bai Zhi’s group’s retreating figures and murmured, "Interesting. Truly interesting." The guard asked instinctively, "What’s interesting, Boss?"
The owner retracted his gaze and said in a calm voice, "It’s nothing. Gather up those items. We’ll take them back for the kids to play with."
Then, he smiled at the other customers in the shop. "Just a small incident! To make up for it, everything in the shop is 1% off today. Feel free to pick something out if you like."
After they left the shop, Yan Yichen asked curiously, "My Lady, how did you know that man was the owner?"
Yue Junxiao looked just as curious; he hadn’t noticed anything unusual.
Lang Qiu said, "The staff’s attitude."
Bai Zhi nodded. "That’s right."
She then explained, "When you started fighting, the staff immediately looked toward him. It was a subconscious, conditioned reflex. That told me he’s the decision-maker for this shop. Even if he wasn’t the owner, he clearly had more authority than anyone else on the floor."
