Chapter 291 - 194: The Rhythm of a Backdoor?
’I wanted to flex a little, but it backfired. They’re on a damn yacht!’
They were on a completely different level!
"Want to come up and hang out? We bought a lot of stuff."
Zhao Fangfei wasn’t about to miss such a perfect opportunity to show off.
"Of course, of course!"
Feng Qi answered instinctively. She was already fantasizing about taking gorgeous photos on the yacht, completely forgetting to consider Zhou Sui’s feelings.
"Honey, let’s go over there and meet up with them," Feng Qi said excitedly.
Worried about losing face, Zhou Sui couldn’t really object, so he just drove the jet ski over.
With the captain’s help, they pulled Feng Qi aboard.
"Honey, you should come up too."
"I still have the jet ski. I have to take it back first."
"That’s right, we can’t just leave it here," Feng Qi said.
"You take the jet ski back first, then come back and meet us."
"Fine."
Zhou Sui agreed with a stony expression and rode off on the jet ski.
Feng Qi paid him no mind. Her eyes lit up when she saw the red wine and fruit laid out on the boat.
She wasn’t that interested in the food itself.
But a yacht and red wine were the ultimate tools for flexing on social media!
That’s why she was so excited—she had completely forgotten about Zhou Sui.
"You guys really know how to live it up, getting all this good stuff."
"Brother Jiang actually ordered it all. He got the most expensive package, which came out to over ten thousand," Zhao Fangfei flaunted.
"I’m so jealous. You found such a great boyfriend."
Feng Qi was being sincere; there wasn’t a hint of flattery in her words.
When it came to looks, Lin Jiang was leagues more handsome than Zhou Sui.
When they met yesterday, she had consoled herself with the thought that while Lin Jiang was more handsome, Zhou Sui was richer. Comparing the two, Zhou Sui still had the upper hand. After all, good looks can’t pay the bills.
But after coming out to have fun today, she realized Lin Jiang’s wealth didn’t seem to be any less than Zhou Sui’s.
On closer inspection, he might even be wealthier, and his physique was better too. Zhou Sui was utterly outclassed on all fronts, which was a little hard for her to accept.
"Your boyfriend, Zhou Sui, isn’t bad either."
"Alright, let’s not talk about him for now," Feng Qi said, pulling Zhao Fangfei’s arm.
"You’re good at taking pictures. Help me take a few."
"No problem, leave it to me."
Feeling triumphant, Zhao Fangfei was in high spirits, and the two began taking pictures of each other.
Lin Jiang sat at the bow of the boat, watching the two women constantly striking poses for photos.
’If this keeps up,’ he thought, ’not only will I have Zhao Fangfei wrapped around my finger, but I’ll have Feng Qi in the palm of my hand too.’
’The only shame is that she’s a little skinny. If she put on a bit of weight, she’d make a good card-playing buddy.’
"Oh, right, should you give your boyfriend a call?" Zhao Fangfei asked.
"I just asked him. He said he’s not coming; he’ll wait for us on the shore."
"If he’s not in a hurry, we can hang out a little longer."
"Mhm."
Feng Qi was having so much fun she’d completely lost track of things.
She took tons of photos, completely forgetting about Zhou Sui and only remembering him near the end.
As evening fell, the afterglow of the sunset cast a golden light over the water. The trio’s small yacht sailed back to shore.
Zhou Sui’s face was grim. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
’I came out today thinking I’d win over Zhao Fangfei,’ he fumed internally, ’but I never expected to lose my own girlfriend in the process!’
"Honey, it’s such a shame you didn’t come."
Feng Qi linked her arm with Zhou Sui’s. "Being on a yacht out on the sea feels amazing."
"It’s just a yacht. I’ve been on them a million times. The really interesting thing is the fishing festival tonight."
This was Zhou Sui’s trump card. At events like this, the things for sale weren’t cheap.
He could use this opportunity to show off his wealth and turn the tables.
"Now that you mention it, I didn’t even realize. I’m a little hungry after playing all afternoon." Feng Qi rubbed her stomach. "Let’s go check out the fishing festival and grab a bite to eat."
"Let’s go."
It had gotten a bit chilly by the sea in the evening, so the group went back to change. Feng Qi was still left wanting more.
’Now I won’t be able to see Lin Jiang’s abs.’
A separate area was marked off by the sea, specifically for grilled seafood food stalls.
"Why is there a stage here? Is there going to be a performance?" Feng Qi asked, standing on her tiptoes to see ahead.
"Not just a performance, there’s also an auction."
While Lin Jiang’s group was out at sea, Zhou Sui had planned to turn the tables during this part of the evening, so he had already gathered all the relevant information.
"What are they auctioning?"
"Some rare seafood, things you don’t normally see."
"Sounds like it’ll be really lively tonight, then."
"Let’s go, let’s go take a look."
When the group arrived at the dining area, it was already eighty percent full. The only available spots were far from the stage.
"You guys wasted too much time out on the sea and came back a bit late. Now there are no good seats, so we have to sit here."
Zhou Sui complained passive-aggressively,
"You have to plan properly when you go out for fun. Having no sense of time is just not going to work."
"Well..."
Feng Qi tried to smooth things over. "It’s mainly because we got so into taking pictures that we forgot the time."
"You don’t need to blame yourself. It’s not a big deal."
Lin Jiang looked around and saw a staff member directing other workers. He walked over to him.
"How about 1,000 extra for you if you can add a table for us right at the front?"
The staff member, who was wearing a tank top, saw Lin Jiang take out his phone as if to scan a payment code and immediately nodded in agreement.
