The next morning, the young couple, who had spent a passionate night together, were awakened by the preset alarm on a phone. Shredded black stockings lay scattered beneath the bed, a testament to the previous night’s frenzy.

Jiang Xia turned off the alarm and turned his head to kiss Lin Yanwan’s cheek. Her eyes, heavy with sleep, fluttered open; she still looked like she hadn’t gotten enough rest.

"Babe, time to get up."

"...So sleepy. Let me snooze a little longer," Lin Yanwan murmured. Two bare arms snaked out from under the covers to hug him, and she casually wrapped one of her legs around his waist.

"Don’t you have a class this morning?" Jiang Xia asked, gently stroking her smooth thigh. He couldn’t help but feel the urge for some ’morning exercise.’ But seeing how tired she was, he decided against it.

’A man has to dote on his own wife.’

"Mmm... English class. First period," Lin Yanwan mumbled, snuggling in his arms.

"You can sleep a little longer, then. I’ll go make you some poached eggs."

"Okay. Thanks, hubby. A kiss..." With her eyes still closed, she tilted her head back slightly. Her delicate lips parted, her breath coming out in soft puffs.

Jiang Xia leaned down and captured her lips. Their mouths lingered together for a moment before their two overlapping silhouettes separated.

He threw back the covers, got out of bed, and scooped up the tattered black stockings from the floor. He tossed them into the trash can, covering two small, torn-open red foil packets.

After getting dressed and washing up in the bathroom, he went to the kitchen to make poached eggs for his wife.

A little while later, Lin Yanwan, clad in her pajamas, came into the kitchen and snuck up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist. Seeing the red mark on his neck, her own delicate face flushed slightly.

Jiang Xia smiled and patted her hands. "Go wait in the dining area. It’ll be ready soon."

"Mkay~ Add a little extra sugar for me. I like it sweet."

"Alright."

He took out two small bowls and placed one poached egg in each, sprinkling them with white sugar. Then he took toasted bread slices out of the microwave; the cheese on top was already melted. He added lettuce, tomato, and bacon, squeezed on a little salad dressing, and sliced them diagonally with a knife. The result was two simple sandwiches that looked quite appetizing.

Jiang Xia brought everything to the dining table, only to see that Lin Yanwan had opened her laptop and was once again reading yesterday’s comments.

After brewing for a full day, the view count on her debut video had surpassed one million—higher than even some episodes of *Cat and Mouse* and *Slam Dunk*. Her follower count had also reached 150,000, making her the most-followed person on D Station at the moment.

And she had only posted a single video. Of course, she had the boost of being endlessly featured on the trending page by an admin account, but fundamentally, it was her own excellence that had won her so many fans.

After a quick scan of the comments, her mood soured. She listlessly munched on her sandwich.

"What’s wrong? Mad again?" Jiang Xia asked with a smile.

"They’re all just a bunch of brainless idiots!" Lin Yanwan said, fuming.

Jiang Xia chuckled. "Then don’t look at them. Just eat. I’ll find someone to clear things up in a bit."

"How are you going to clear things up?" Lin Yanwan took a bite of her poached egg and looked up at him.

Jiang Xia winked. "It’s a secret~"

"Are you still going to class today?" she asked.

If she remembered correctly, they both had classes this morning.

Jiang Xia shook his head. "I’m not going."

’Are you kidding me? In this situation, I’d probably get jumped by a mob of people who can’t stand me.’

Lin Yanwan hesitated slightly. "Should I skip too?"

"No, you should go. Why wouldn’t you? You have your genius persona to maintain. A lot of eyes in your class are on you now," Jiang Xia said.

"Oh."

Lin Yanwan suddenly realized that being famous wasn’t all that great. People were watching her every move. She had barely revealed herself, and the rumors were already flying.

’So annoying.’

After breakfast, Lin Yanwan put on a baseball cap and a mask, then rode her bike to campus. She had no desire to be recognized by eager fans the moment she set foot on the Tsinghua campus, only to be swarmed with questions and forced to take pictures.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xia went to his company and had the film crew staff record a few video clips for him.

Thanks to the mask, Lin Yanwan’s trip was uneventful. However, the moment she walked into the classroom, her classmates recognized her immediately.

After all, having a celebrity-like figure suddenly appear in their class was pretty attention-grabbing.

A crowd gathered around her, a mixture of awe and amazement in their voices. Compliments flowed freely, and some even asked about her boyfriend—a question she naturally didn’t answer. She was only rescued from the predicament when Qiuting and her two other friends arrived.

They took a seat in a corner at the back, and the others finally dispersed, looking a bit sheepish. But they kept glancing back at Lin Yanwan, and some were even secretly taking pictures with their phones. It probably wouldn’t be long before new posts about her were all over the internet again.

"Sister Yanwan, what are you doing here today? Shouldn’t you be lying low for a bit? On our way here, we were just saying we should ask the professor for a leave of absence for you," Qiuting whispered.

"It’s fine. I can’t hide forever, can I?" Lin Yanwan tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and let out a soft sigh.

When she decided to hit the submit button yesterday, she had already considered these scenarios. It’s just that the rumors had started a little faster than she’d expected.

"A lot of people came to the dorm looking for you last night. We told them you weren’t there. They asked us a ton of questions about you and Brother Jiang Xia, but we didn’t say a thing."

Qiuting hesitated for a few seconds before continuing, "I was going to try and clear things up for you and Brother Jiang Xia, but Si Si said we shouldn’t make things worse by trying to help, and that it’s best to let you two handle this kind of thing yourselves."

Lin Yanwan smiled faintly. "Si Si is right. Public opinion is a complicated thing, and you need evidence to debunk rumors. Empty words are useless."
