Age of Adepts

Chapter 0860 - Winds of Freedom

The battle that erupted between the Witches of Fate and the Witches of Winter had surprisingly shown a surprising trend of war from the very beginning.

In the hundreds of clashes that had rapidly erupted all over the Northlands within a month, the Fate Witches, who had always given people the impression of being weak and bullying, were unnatural, displaying a fearsome bravery and ferocity.

In a battle at the level of witches, the Witches of Fate were outnumbered, but they did not back down.

They seemed to have achieved one Demonic Puppet Summoning Crystals and one Puppet Amulet in each hand. Once they were at war with the Winter Witches, with the Elemental Demon Puppet on the left, the Metal Demon Armament on the right, and a single Instant Wand and Sorcery Scroll, the Fate Witches turned from little lambs into vicious wolves, devouring double-digit numbers of rank 1 Winter Witches in one go.

Of course, not many of the Winter Witches actually died, and the vast majority were captured in defeat and imprisoned in the Tower of Fate in the Dragonbone Wilderness. Until the war was over, it looked like they would have trouble getting out.

Not only were the Winter Witches dazed by the sudden outburst of power from the Fate Witches, but even the other faction witches who were watching were greatly confused.

One had to know that elemental puppets and metal puppets had always been costly, and with the financial resources of most witch towers, they could only be used as fixed witch tower guards.

Want to take them out?

The market price of a miniaturized puppet amulet could easily be above 20,000 magic crystals, and with a price tag, it was difficult to get such strategic wonders from the Silver Alliance without special means.

If it wasn't too unorthodox for a 1st level witch to suddenly summon an elemental magic puppet and a metal magic weapon of the same level during a battle. Then, when two Sorceress Apprentices were fighting and one side suddenly summoned an Elemental Magic Puppet of the Quasi-Witch Tier, the impact on the battle would be too great.

In the battles that had broken out all over the Northern Lands, most of the two sides involved in the battle were Sorceress Apprentices. How much weight a quasi-witch tier elemental magic puppet carried, the sorceress apprentices on the side of the Winter Witch could tell you slowly with their tragic stories.

Which leads to the fact that the Fate I side has never failed in an apprentice-level battle!

The opposing witch's apprentice was either defeated and captured, or beaten and held her head in her hands.

For a long time, the Winter Witch's apprentices would run away whenever they saw a Fate apprentice, never daring to confront her.

It was safe to say that in the battle between the Fate Witch and the Winter Witch, the Winter Witch had lost the battle and was not far from losing the war.

However, the Winter Witch's decline was instantly reversed with the appearance of their 2nd ranked Witches.

After all, 2nd rank witches were 2nd rank witches, far from being able to resist those 1st rank witches with some elemental magic puppets and metal puppets.

Not to mention, just by comparing the number of 2nd rank witches, the Fate First Department once again revealed the lack of their power.

While the Winter Witch had 11 2nd rank witches, the Fate First Department only had 1, or Alice, the faction leader who couldn't easily take the field.

The Fate First Department was completely defeated in the battle of 2nd rank strength.

When this group of 2nd rank Rinse Witches stepped onto the battlefield and began to sweep the Fate First Department with impunity, the Fate First Department did not sit idly by, instead sending out a large number of exotic 2nd rank from the 'Affiliated Forces'.

2nd Order Vampire Sorcerer, 2nd Order Dragoon, 2nd Order Magic Arms Warrior, 2nd Order Dragon Eater Olivine, 2nd Order Plague Poison Spirit....

These ruthless and vicious alien 2-stages, all without the dignity and honor of the Witch's lineage, ambushed and attacked at every turn, and surrounded multiple people at every turn. They went so far as to take advantage of the fact that the Winter Witch line was unaware of their existence, and cooperated with the Fate Witch to launch multiple raid battles.

At one point, 3 of the Winter Witch's 2 ranks were severely wounded and 2 were captured alive....

Such an achievement spread out and immediately stirred up the entire Northlands, and also made that 3rd rank Mogane who sat in the Ice and Snow Valley no longer sit still.

How did things develop into this?

With the strength of the Winter Witch line, it was almost ten times that of the newly revived Destiny Witch.

The war should have ended in a crushing defeat for the Witches of Destiny line, and Morgana would have easily taken that male witch under her wing. But the reality was a million miles away from the ideal, and now instead the Fate Witches were pressing the Winter Witch's face into the ground and rubbing it repeatedly....

The psychological impact this had on Morgana was undoubtedly unprecedented!

As a last resort, Morgana, a 3rd level witch, could only walk out of the Ice and Snow Valley and join the battlefield herself.

And the other side seemed to have anticipated this, as soon as Morgana had left the Ice Valley, the Fate One Department began a full-scale strategic contraction. They went so far as to abandon all of their outlying territories and resource points, recycling all of their witches and apprentices to the Tower of Destiny in the Dragonbone Wilderness and holding on to it.

Now Mogana was completely cooled off!

With her status and seniority, she couldn't run to the land of the Witch of Destiny and oppress the mortal armies and local nobles, could she? But to attack the Fate Tower... it was the origin tower of the Fate Witch line... even a 4th rank witch wouldn't dare to break into it, let alone her, a 3rd rank witch.

But to let go of the Fate lineage....

Hell, at least thirty Winter Witch captives and hundreds of apprentices were still being held in the Tower of Destiny. If they were left alone, the reputation and glory that the Winter Sorceress lineage had built up over the past 500 years would be ruined.

What's more, there are two rank 2 Winter Witches held in the Tower of Destiny, so giving up on them won't help anyone!

For a time, the farcical dispute descended into untenable circumstances....

...................

After advancing to Level 3, Grim was surprised to find that the Wizard World he knew had suddenly become unfamiliar.

It was like unintentionally opening a door, and the world behind the door gave him a completely different feeling from before.

Step 3, which could already be considered a step into the threshold of a high-ranking wizard, was a completely different world from Step 2.

While Grim was sitting alone in the chamber silently pondering over the new sorcery he had just parsed out, a strange blue light hit the Witch Tower defense system causing him to awaken. The blue light flew straight in front of Grim as the tower's defense system cracked open a small entrance, transforming into a strange invitation.

The invitation was made entirely of blue elemental particles condensed together, and as it floated in front of Grim, a line of text magically appeared on it.

The message on it was simple, inviting Grim to join a wizard organization called 'Free Wind', and the rights and obligations attached to it couldn't be simpler. It seemed that by simply leaving his sorcery mark on it, Grim would also be able to easily become a member of this sorcerer's organization and enjoy a large amount of information, resources, and knowledge that was not available to the outside world.

The only restriction that the organization had on Grim was that when the Scattered Tallinn region was invaded by the three major powers, he had to be brave enough to stand up and use his power to defend the interests of all the witches in the Scattered Tallinn region.

Through this information, Grim immediately understood that this should be the witch organization created by those old guys from the Scattered Earth Tallinn Association. The purpose was of course to unite the witches of the entire central part of the continent against the invasion of the three great witches' powers.

Previously, it was only because Grim's strength wasn't up to par that he couldn't contact such an organization. Now that Grim had become a 3rd rank, the party had received an invitation from the other side.

From this, it could be seen that the entry threshold for this 'Free Wind' wizard organization was 3rd rank!

This was a side effect that showed the huge difference between this organization and other small wizard organizations.

Grim hesitated for a moment, but finally extended a finger that ignited a bright yellow flame and gently pressed it onto the invitation.

Instantly, the bright yellow flame left a Burning Iron Fist imprint on the blue invitation.

With the next flex of his finger, the blue elemental particles crumbled into a diffuse firefly, leaving a strange circular mirror the size of a palm in its place.

Grim prodded and grabbed the round mirror into his hand, and the chip in his brain immediately sent out an alert.

"Drop, strange mental interface found... Initially judged to be a mental network portal... Data scan result: secure..."

A psychic network portal?

Grim was slightly startled at first, and then something dawned on him.

One thing he had been wondering all along was that the form of civilization presented by the Sorcerer's World was too primitive and too low-end. In any case, the Sorcerer's World was, after all, a powerful camp of spell casters in the multiverse, and his own native land should not be so backward in any case.

The current appearance of this circular mirror, however, was a clear indication that Grim had yet to truly cross over into the Wizard civilization. In the past, he was more like a lone ghost, always wandering away from the main civilization of the Wizard.

Thus without hesitation, Grim pierced his mental energy into the circular mirror.

The next flex of his fingers was like plunging headfirst into an ocean of information, and Grim was instantly overwhelmed by the massive amount of information swarming around him.

If Grim was the only one, he would have been holding his head in his mouth at this moment.

Fortunately, the chip existed, and no amount of information could overwhelm Grim's spiritual sea of consciousness.

Grim, who had been sitting in the chamber, felt as if he had suddenly come to a strange spiritual world, where he had become a pure spiritual consciousness.

With only three flexes of his fingers, Grim adapted to this strange conscious body and attempted to open his 'eyes'.

"Welcome to the winds of freedom, I wonder what I can do for you?"

The first to appear in front of Grim was a beautifully gowned, delicate-faced young girl who was now smiling sweetly at Grim and bowing.

Grim looked around in confusion, and then looked at himself.

It was a special stone room that was only ten square meters in size, with no ornaments, no doors, windows or furniture, only a lone pestle standing between himself and the young girl in front of him.

Grim held out his hands and spread them before himself.

As it turned out, what the 'eyes' saw was not his original hands, but a strange, writhing halo of light. And the world in front of him and the young girl were not real either, they were all just an illusion simulated by sorcery.
