Age of Adepts

Chapter 0874 - Mogana's Despair

As we all know, the position of Witch of Destiny has never been one of combat.

Therefore, most Fate Witches were harmless creatures in the eyes of others.

However, today, Alice was only the first to show her face, making Morgana experience the horror of a high-ranked Fate Witch.

Due to the existence of the Fate Cut, Morgana's luck was very bad from the start of the battle.

This made her invariably miss many good opportunities to kill her enemies quickly.

As a veteran witch who had advanced to Level 3 for over two hundred years, a failed spell casting spell was something that should never have happened to her. However, it had only been half an hour since the battle had started, and Morgana had already failed twice.

One time was when the threads from the silk handkerchief fell off and got mixed up in her mouth, causing her to make a mistake when reciting the spell, which resulted in not catching the moment when Mary burst into the storm circle and her figure suddenly stalled.

The other time was when a counter-current bursting inside the storm circle struck the ice shield outside her body, which was then drained of its power and collapsed on its own. This was why Morgana, who was disturbed by the counter-current, missed a good opportunity to kill Alice directly at point blank range.

These two mistakes seem to have a cause and effect, which can only be seen as a wonderful coincidence and accident.

But Morgana knew deep down that it wasn't a coincidence or accident, but the true manifestation of Lucky -2 after Fate had cut it!

Luck is something that is never out of sight or out of mind.

But it has to be admitted that it is real!

The impact that Lucky +1 and Lucky -1 brought to a person could never be as simple as throwing the dice more or less than once, but would truly affect her coupling with this bit world system.

It should be known that the bit consciousness was originally an aggregation of thousands of life forms and billions of inanimate elemental base matter within the bit. A guy who was lucky -1 on his own would feel the great malevolence from behind everything in heaven and earth when he communicated and interacted with any matter in this bit world.

Any intelligent creature he encountered would develop a natural dislike and hostility upon seeing him at first glance. And the ferocious birds and beasts he encountered would even target him without hesitation.

In addition to that, even those inanimate matter would mess with him at every turn!

An inconspicuous pebble that appeared on the walking route, the wooden stool with no polished wooden thorns, the transparent fish thorns mixed in the fish soup, a trance at the crucial moment of preparing the high-grade witch medicine.......

The guy who has Lucky-1 in his body will feel that the whole world is against you, and will try to trip you up and set you up at every turn. This is the real power of Lucky-1!

And Morgaine is taking a lucky -2 at the moment!

Seriously, if she was not a 3rd rank witch, but just an ordinary human, no kills or arrangements would have been needed, just a series of 'accidents' caused by Lucky-2 would have been enough to make her live or die.

The manifestation on the battlefield, on the other hand, was Morgana's singularly numerous 'mistakes', throwing away many moments that could quickly end the battle for nothing.

That was what allowed this battle, which wasn't evenly matched, to continue for an extended period of time!

And in the meantime, the original 4 guys who were suspicious of each other and distrustful of each other actually began to work together and rely on each other to a limited extent with the bonding of Alice as a super-assistant.

Of the 5 2-steps, Alice clearly became the uncompromising commander with her unique big-picture perspective and bizarre fate sorcery.

Mary, on the other hand, has become a worthy assassin and fireman with her exceptional speed and agility.

Billis, on the other hand, relied on the unpredictable swarms of gathering and scattering insects and the sharp and terrifying war bugs to become guerrillas, fending off the endless layers of ice and snow witch beasts of the 3rd level witches.

The Goblin Tigure, relying on the powerful battle power of the Goblin Tearer, became the main attacker that impacted the outer defenses of Mogana.

Split-Brain Gru, on the other hand, relied on the magical motion furnace inside his body and the powerful magic cannon around his body to act as a long-range heavy artilleryman.

These guys originally each had their own unique abilities and areas of expertise. But today, they gathered in unison on Alice's side, and truly brought out their strongest battle power.

The battle was fierce and bizarre, with a distinctive flavor emanating from everywhere!

Whenever a powerful ice sorcery from Mogane strikes, it's time for the 5 2-steps to match their life-preserving abilities!

Facing a 3rd rank witch, if one wasn't careful, it could be the distance between life and death.

In the hour and a half long battle, Mary died 3 times, Tigure died 5 times, Brainsplitter died once... and Alice, who had many cards to play, and Billis, who was the best at hiding, didn't die once.

The Ice Storm Tornado held up by Morgana was blown up in the 41st minute by a super-powerful magical artillery barrage from Brainsplitter Gru. Since then, Mary has been like a lingering fly on Mogane's side.

As soon as she showed the slightest sign of weakness, Mary would try to break the opponent's cold shield with her own insane dual-attribute attacks.

Even though Tigure was not far away to draw fire, and even though Mary's 29 points of Super Agility allowed her to move in and out with ease, she still inevitably 'died' 3 times at the hands of Morgana.

The first time was when she was too greedy to retreat, and was frozen into an ice sculpture by a sudden burst of a ring of ice when the ice shield outside of Morgana's body was just about to explode.

A freeze that lasted 3 seconds was enough to kill Mary ten times while she was guerrilla in front of Morgana.

The second and final time was when Mary made a melee attack and was bludgeoned into a sieve by a furious Mogane with a wide random frost ray diffusion.

The third and final time, she was killed on the spot by the activation of the icy bloodline of Morgaine with a terrible lonely winter freeze. It should be known that after activating the Ice Cold Bloodline, and then casting the terrifying 3rd level sorcery 'Lonesome Winter', Morgana was completely able to create an extreme cold field within half a mile of her body.

This time, Mary and Tigure were both struck at the same time, and both were frozen to death in the gorgeous and exquisite world of ice and snow.

If it wasn't for the fact that Alice's control over the Hourglass of Time had reached a level of perfection, I'm afraid that at least one of the two would have actually died from this counterattack by Morgana!

After several deaths, the 5 man squad has also finally figured out some tricks to deal with Mogane.

Most of the ice sorceries that Morgana possessed were powerful and incredibly freezing, but they all required 3-7 seconds of holding the spell to cast, and there were also some obvious signs of casting before they were cast.

Once these tricks are mastered, along with Alice's Scepter of Prophecy being able to predict before each attack what Morgana really wants to attack. These factors add up and give the 5 man squad the best chance to escape.

If Morgana wanted to spike a guy alone, Alice would notify the other team in advance. And that guy wouldn't have to think about attacking, he'd just have to run away with all his might. If Morgana wanted to trigger a wide range of powerful sorcery, Alice would also be able to anticipate and report the best safe distance in advance.

So, the 5-member team retreated to a distance away from the so-called safe distance, and easily used long-range sorcery to brush away Morgana who couldn't move easily.

After a few tosses and turns, they made that Mogane furious, but there was nothing they could do about it!

That Alice is just so annoying.

It's not even that she's slick and hard to catch on her own, but she even turns the other 4 guys into greasers, running around and drilling them on her side. Each time, they hid in places where they were powerful and difficult to use, making most of the ice sorcery a pointless and beautiful salute.

Fighting a group of guys like this, the single class sorcery, while powerful, was hard to pinpoint. Only a wide range of 3rd class sorcery could cause them considerable damage.

However, 3rd-rank sorcery wasn't a cabbage after all. Even if Morgana had an icy bloodline and an extremely fast recovery of ice sorcery power, she couldn't withstand such an extravagant one use re-use!

Before you know it, Morgaine has gone from ruling the battlefield to being a panting, rat-catching expert. And her ability to create death pressure on her opponent was diminishing.

Of course, as the leader of the 3rd rank Winter Witch, how could this be all that Moganna had!

Halfway through the battle, in a fit of rage, Morgana summoned a 3rd stage strength Raging Snowman King.

This is a guy who looks like a savage, 4 meters tall, with four strong arms and grey hair, a flat and crude face, and is good at throwing snowballs. The snowballs he threw were not the soft frosty balls of a 1st level wizard, but terrifying snowballs that were one meter in diameter, weighed half a ton, and had a strong splash effect when they hit the ground.

The snowball has a physical attack power of 150 degrees, freezing damage of 120 degrees, and ice crystal splash damage of 110 meters and 70 degrees!

As the Berserk Snowman King attacked the crowd at an insane speed of eight rounds per second, the coordination of the 5-man team was smoothly interrupted.

At the crucial moment, it was the goblin Tigure who made a huge sacrifice to draw the fire of Morgana's attack at his expense. The rest of the crowd used this time to frantically attack the Snowman King.

In the end, it was under the guidance of Alice's weaknesses that Brainsplitter Gru penetrated the Snowman King's chest and blew his Consciousness Core to pieces with a single energy beam that gathered the full power of the Magical Melting Pot.

Of course, Worm Witch Billis contributed 7 Void Predators to pre-break the defense of the Raging Snowman King's chest, which was the key to the split-brain Grue's ability to kill the enemy with a single strike.

Without the assistance of the Berserk Snowman King, without the protection of the Great Tornado of Ice Storm, and without the tidal wave of ice witch beasts to hold her back, Morgana, who was the leader of the 3rd rank Rinse Witch, finally showed a hint of fatigue, and was delayed by Alice and the others into the third hour of the battle.
