Age of Adepts

Chapter 0889 - Conspiracy Succeeds

Molten Fire City, underground mine pit defense witch formation control center.

Dozens of sorcerers were lying upside down in various parts of the hall, all with light or heavy wounds on their bodies.

In the center of the hall where the witch formation was, the original witch formation etched on the floor had been destroyed and could no longer function.

As for the rune formation master Dorian, he was covered in blood and collapsed beside a broken stone pillar, silently accepting the treatment from the Fraina witch.

As soon as the Kerak Witch stepped into the place, her face instantly turned pale.

"What's going on? Who sneaked in here?" Kerak growled loudly.

"It's... the flaming tiger..." said Dorian, breaking off through the pain of his injuries.

His left leg seemed to have been rammed by something and had become a pulpy mess, while black snakes of blood were flowing outwards from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose, and it was obvious that his body was not lightly traumatized either.

"Flame Tiger?" Kerak's mouth twitched and he looked like he'd seen a ghost, "How could it be that Flame Tiger? It...it's been tangling with us all over the underground mines just now!"

Dorian looked extremely dispirited after the trauma, but also growled angrily at the news.

"I was going to ask you what happened? Why was that Flaming Tiger attacked just after I arrived here with my men? And...and that bastard summoned out another lava giant and smashed up the central control hall..."

With an incredulous look on his face, Kerak whirled to Frenna and sternly questioned, "Did you see it too?"

"See!" Fraina panicked and nodded repeatedly, but then whirled around and said, "But..."

"But what?"

"I always feel like this Flame Tiger has the same appearance and similar scent as the previous one, but... but it doesn't feel like it's the same..."

Dorian also had a weak mouth to mouth this morning, "I feel the same way! It seems that this Flame Tiger is a little weaker... but the Lava Giant it summoned is exactly the same as last time!"

Kerak sucked in a breath of cold air.

Flame...Flame Tiger...more than one?

If there's more than one Flame Tiger, what have they not shown up for in the past?

While hesitantly chanting, the snake eye ring on Kerak's right index finger suddenly shone with a faint red mane.

It was the summoning ring he used when he contacted some of his trusted men in Molten Fire City.

He stretched out his finger and fought with the snake-eye ring, raising it to his mouth and hated it, "Antok, don't bother me if there's nothing wrong, I'm here..."

"My lord, come quickly, there's an enemy invasion in the lab and warehouse..." as soon as the Snake Eyes ring was connected, a man's hoarse cry came from across the room. And behind his voice, there was a rise and fall of makeshift screams, and faintly, a familiar tiger whistle could be heard.

Kerak's face changed instantly.

And Dorian and Furina who were close to him and heard the communication at the same time also changed color in unison.

Even if the underground mines lost heavily, even if the slave miners died out, it was unlikely that they would move their eyebrows. As long as Melting Fire City was still around, as long as they were still around, everything could return to business as usual.

Being great would only cause Molten Fire City to lose ten days and half a month of ore production!

As the Vice Lord of Melting Fire City, they could still afford this loss.

But that hidden laboratory and supplies warehouse was a place that could not be missed!

Once there was a problem there, I'm afraid that even the City Lord who had been in seclusion for ten years would be forced to leave the mountain. And the consequences of disturbing the City Lord... the few people present were a little frightened just thinking about it.

Dorian, who originally wanted to return to his residence and slowly heal, immediately pulled out a sorcery dagger from his waist, and with a cold flash, cut off Furina's left leg by the roots.

Strangely, there wasn't even half a trace of blood coming out of the severed wound.

Frenna screamed in pain, her face pale and her body trembling, but she didn't dare to move a bit.

Dorian pressed Fraina's broken leg against his own broken leg, and pulled out a bottle of purple potion from his bosom and gently sprinkled it on the junction of the broken leg.

A faint white smoke billowed up, and the break instantly became covered in a large cloud of clear slime that looked disgusting.

But with the next flex of his fingers, Dorian was able to stand up and move his legs to walk normally.

"Take Frenna back to the rescue!" Dorian beckoned over one of the Molten Fire City wizards and left Frenna to him, while he and Kerak hurried to the hidden region.

As they moved quickly through the tunnels, Dorian questioned in a low voice.

"How many supplies are stored there?"

Kerak replied with a pale face, "Usually, it's delivered to the City Lord Witch Tower every three months. The City Lord's Witch Tower hasn't been open for the past ten years, all the inventory is there now..."

Hearing this reply, Dorian only felt a whirlwind and a mouthful of old blood almost didn't come out.

"Don't worry... that Flame Tiger is just a beast, how big can its appetite be? Let it eat with an open belly, how much can it take away? The missing share...we'll bite the bullet and scrape it together, and then we'll have the slaves work overtime digging, and we might be able to make it up..." the Kerak couldn't stop consoling himself along the way.

But by the time he and Dorian arrived at the hidden laboratory along a skid-lined passageway, the place had become a blood-soaked purgatory on earth.

The Noble Alchemy Laboratory was littered with collapsed and broken lab benches and glassware, and none of the alchemists who had been working in the lab were to be seen. However, many scorch marks left by the flames after baking could be seen on the glossy floors of various parts of the laboratory.

In the center of the scorch marks were piles of black powder.

And these, were the only things left behind by those alchemists!

The few metal statues responsible for guarding the lab had been blown apart and scattered all over the lab. The two rank 2 witches stationed here were also nowhere to be found, so it was expected that they would be killed.

They didn't stop here and frantically pounced on the warehouse at the back of the lab.

As soon as they rushed into the warehouse, they saw a terrifying Flame Tiger standing proudly with its head held high.

The other party was leisurely swallowing a storage ring into its stomach. Seeing the two shamans arrive, the tiger grinned slightly, showing an almost human smile, and then disappeared in a flash of fire.

The destruction of the Underground Witch Formation's control center also deprived the place of its ability to ban teleportation.

Even though the two witches hated each other even though their hearts ached, they could not stop the other from leaving.

And after the Flame Tiger left, the two witches looked around the circle at the empty, large warehouse of supplies, and couldn't help but spurt out a mouthful of blood at the same time.

Things were going to get big now!

...................

Deep in the Lava Sea.

Sindar's Lair.

The Flame Tiger emerged in a burst of dense firelight, a red glowing locating rune visible on the floor of the lair.

The Flame Tiger smiled heedlessly, then slowly transformed back into Grim in a strange distortion and deformation.

These days, the Flame Splitter had been silently probing the basic data and body structure of the Flame Tiger Sindar, and had even constructed a Flame Tiger model with an 80% resemblance for this purpose.

And it was according to this Flame Tiger model that Grim used his flame shaping ability to morph himself into the Flame Tiger Sindar. With this shape, and the fact that they were all using flame sorcery, it was really difficult for an ordinary sorcerer to distinguish between the real one and the fake one.

Also, before doing this, Grim had covertly contacted Alice who was far away in the North to blur the branch of her destiny. That way, even if someone found some flaw afterwards, it would be difficult to trace the true intent of the event through prophecy!

Since it was safe to return, it was natural to put on a full show for the rest of the day.

Grim closed his eyes and sensed the situation, before turning around and rushing out of the lair, quickly heading in a certain direction deep into the Lava Sea.

The 'battle' in the depths of the Lava Sea was still going on....

A circle of shock waves stirred the lava sea into darkness, but every time the Unid Witch arrived on the spot, she would find that the two guys had already run elsewhere, and a new wave of shock waves was coming from afar.

The Unid Witch could only grit her teeth and continue her wild chase.

Grim secretly returned to the battlefield and greeted the Flame Tiger Sindar, spitting out a storage ring and tossing it to the flame billet. As soon as they changed positions, Grim continued his 'bitter battle' with Sindar, while that 2nd stage flame billet fled far away through the tremors of the lava sea.

This time, one man and one tiger did not continue to dodge, but fought viciously in place.

Grim also showed his true strength for the first time.

As his soul rippled, a strange piece of sorcery equipment slowly surfaced on his body.

On top of the flaming humanoid head, a beautifully shaped and magnificently styled magic crown emerged. At the same time, a pair of magical arm rings etched with exquisite patterns surfaced at both arms, a dazzling aura shone at his waist, and a sorcery breath of astonishing intensity also surfaced at his feet and neck.

Moreover, these sorcery equipment seemed to be closely related to Grim's soul, building a complete system of sorcery energy with his Idea Heart Core at the center.

Suit... this was a sorcery suit!

The hastily arrived Unid witch almost screamed out in shock, looking at Grim's tall, naked body with intense envy in her eyes.

And that wasn't all.

On Grim's shoulder, a weird wooden doll with dense runic lines engraved all over its body emerged, emitting an eerie and terrifyingly thin wry laugh at the opposite Flame Tiger.

Another soul-armed piece!

And had been born with spiritual intelligence and the ability to conjure a body....

At this moment, the Unid Witch was no longer simply envious, but obscurely jealous!

Damn it...where did this young fire witch get so many souls to arm himself with, he...which 4th rank big man's bastard son was he?
