Age of Adepts

Chapter 0893 - Magic Puppet Dragon

Goblin Plane, Mechanical City.

It was a huge alchemy laboratory located underneath the Sorcerer's High Tower.

The 13,000 square meter assembly workshop was densely packed with scaffolding that looked like a hive, and countless goblin engineers and technicians were climbing up and down on it, welding, cutting, and banging, making the place look like a boisterous market.

And surrounded by the dense scaffolding, a giant prototype of a magic weapon creation could be faintly seen.

It was an all-metal construction of a gigantic Demonic Armament Puppet Dragon, the entire metal body was a hundred meters long at the head and tail, supported by six pairs of sturdy and solid metal legs underneath, one end and one tail, and every pattern and detail on it was sculpted extremely beautifully and realistically.

Due to the large amount of Fire Dirt Copper used to build this huge Demonic Armament Puppet Dragon, it gave its metal surface a strange dark red color. Once the metal body was struck hard, dazzling sparks would even appear, igniting the clothing on the 'attacker'.

Therefore, there would always be some sort of emergency fire alarm in one or two places on the huge scaffolding every half a quarter of an hour, before the goblin sprinklers that were already on standby rushed in to extinguish the fire.

When Grim arrived at the workshop, accompanied by Wind Witch Desera and a group of senior goblin engineers, it was such a messy, boisterous scene.

A gigantic magic-armed puppet dragon that was a hundred meters tall and long....

Grim narrowed his eyes, silently examining and pondering in silence.

One had to know that even those true dragons that reached a hundred meters in length were some sort of ancient or archaic dragons, starting at least at the 6th stage. And for this group of feeble gnomes the size of a beanpole to be able to create a huge magic weapon of this scale with an exquisite and perfect mechanical forging process, this had to make Grim impress them!

But the goblins, even if they had gathered the advanced technicians and engineers of the entire bit, that was the limit of what they could do. Without the magic motion furnace technology provided by Grim, even if they went all out and retrofitted all the internal space of the puppet dragon with coal-fired steam powerplants, it would be difficult for them to drive such a huge magic weapon construct.

It seemed that Grim had already understood this truth, ever since Grim, the Crimson Clan Chief, had arrived at the Goblin Plane and arrived at Machinery City, the old Goblin who was the smartest and most qualified of the Goblin Engineers had been following him closely, chanting incessantly like a monk chanting 'lack of funds' and 'industrial injuries' like a monk chanting scriptures. Many', 'apprentices are scarce'....

Of course, it was the large magical melting pot on top of that drawing that it recited the most!

According to the current Demonic Puppet Dragon's weight of up to 400 tons, this large Demonic Furnace would have to be at least 1/3 of the power of the Super Demonic Furnace that the brain monster Ghazruvi fused with in order to drive such a large Demonic Armament construct.

If you take into account the many magic weapons that need to be added later, I'm afraid that this new large magic melting pot has to be at least no less powerful than the Super Magic Melting Pot to be able to drive such a large magic weapon.

And to build that Super Magic Melting Furnace, Grim had borrowed a rare 'Magic Source' to achieve success. Now trying to create a magic melting furnace that was on par with it would only deplete even more of the Quillus Alloy!

So, while Grim was scrutinizing the Magic Puppet Dragon by circling around it without stopping, his mind was also rapidly calculating the consumption of the Quillas Alloy.

This time, the total amount of Quiras alloy on hand was 270 tons, and according to the chip's latest optimized model data, it could build about 67 space furnaces, or 26 magic melting furnaces. But if you build a large magic furnace, I'm afraid that all the Quillas alloy together, you can only build 3-4.

Once considering the Cruising Mothership, Goblin Dragon Lance, Space Tearer and the legendary Thor Titan that were already on the build list, Grim had one head and two shoulders, and always felt that his family would be defeated by this feeble group of goblins in one fell swoop.

But the Demonic Puppet Dragon was just an early experiment, to gain a bit of experience in forging Demonic Constructs for the creation of the next few really big killers. The most important thing is that you have to be able to get a good idea of what you are looking for.

This Magic Puppet Dragon, even if its combat power was strong, its basic strength could reach the point where it could fight against 4th-ranked creatures. But after all, it was too clumsy and couldn't fly, so if that 4th level enemy was too cunning and played guerrilla warfare against these weaknesses, I'm afraid the Demon Puppet Dragon would still be difficult to defeat.

This was slightly evident from the fact that Krsuna, the leader of the 4th level Death Witch, could single-handedly fight a 4th level dragon and win.

So, in Grim's mind, even if this future Demonic Armament Puppet Dragon was really successfully built, I'm afraid it would only be a lowest level 4th tier Demonic Armament Construct!

But with the Crimson Family's lack of a 4th rank wizard sitting in the house, the sudden addition of a 4th rank magic weapon still had to be considered a good thing all in all.

Now, the only thing that mattered was whether it was worth it or not!

With that in mind, Grim finally stopped and turned back to the old goblin who had followed him too closely and almost crashed into him.

"You..."

"My name is Gunga, and I am the current director of the Royal Academy of Engineers of the Great Goblin Empire, and the overseer of the construction of this magic weapon puppet dragon!"

"You just seemed to talk too much about the difficulties and technical problems, and I don't want to hear about that right now. All I care about is what you can offer me in return if I provide you with a large magical furnace of sufficient power." Grim had his hands behind his back and his eyebrows were cocky and arrogant.

Hearing Grim's words, the goblins gathered around them all held their breath.

The goblins that could appear here were at least a senior engineer, and they had been involved in the entire creation of the Demonic Puppet Dragon, so they naturally knew the value that a large Demonic Melting Furnace represented. In the past, they had complained countless times to the shamans stationed here about the lack of apprentices, lack of funds, and constant work injuries... but what really bothered them was still the lack of a strong 'heart' strong enough to drive the Demonic Puppet Dragon!

Countless complaints, countless applications, countless expectations....

Each time, they were dismissed by the resident sorcerer without even an explanation, which undoubtedly made the group of goblin engineers anxious and restless, thinking that such a massive plan to forge a magical armament construct would go down the drain.

But today, in the mouth of this Crimson Master, they heard for the first time about a large magic melting furnace. This... how could it not make them extremely excited!

"A powerful 4th-ranked magic weapon puppet dragon!" That Gunga dean pulled his neck and shouted wildly, "Step 4... it's Step 4! It will definitely be able to sweep away all 4th level enemies for you..."

Grim couldn't help but laugh inwardly at the old gnome who shouted hoarsely and frothing at the mouth, looking like he was afraid he wouldn't believe it.

Step 4....

I'm afraid that these gnomes, who were used to being gnomes in Menli Tiger, couldn't imagine how terrifying a true 4th order creature was!

Did it think that those 4th level wizards would run up to the Demonic Puppet Dragon with their battle axes raised like those foolish warriors and play some kind of melee with it?

The power possessed by a true 4th rank wizard was beyond the limits of the world's mundane imagination. And they, too, must have a great deal of means to deal with this kind of clumsy and slow big guy.

So what if they were big enough? What about a solid body made of all-magic metal?

I'm afraid that when you encounter a true 4th rank wizard, you'll only become a pathetic and sad wooden stake. It wasn't a problem at all that the other side could defeat the Demonic Armor Puppet Dragon, the only question was whether or not the other side was willing to pay the huge price of felling a solid wooden stake.

Therefore, Grim wasn't compelled by the old goblin's fanatical propaganda slogans, but instead had a far more accurate and deeper understanding and knowledge of the Demonic Armageddon Puppet Dragon than the old goblin!

"A 4th level magic weapon construct? Good, good..." instead of bursting the bubble of the old goblin Gunga's illusory ideals, Grim turned his tone, "So what practical difficulties do you still have in trying to achieve this goal?"

"This..." the old goblin Gunga hesitated.

Creating such a terrifying magical armament construct, even with Machinery City's current strength, it would take an all-out effort to do so. Not to mention the technology and workers, there were hundreds of goblin transport teams that transported iron ingots alone.

They constantly shuttled to the major mines on a daily basis, transporting the collected ores for miles and miles to Machinery City, where they would be processed one by one by the many smelters, refineries, and purification workshops in the periphery before finally being delivered to the goblin technicians.

The subsequent smelting and forging of magical alloys was done in a small goblin laboratory, and the daily output was only a few hundred kilograms. To make up the amount of magical alloys for this Magic Puppet Dragon, nearly a thousand goblin engineers and technicians worked day and night, and the number of goblins who died from exhaustion in the labs and operating tables alone was as high as a hundred.

And the reason they were working so hard wasn't precisely because they wanted to see a 'divine' magical armament construct being born in their hands!

For some of the indigenous creatures who were caught up in racial limitations and unable to step out of the bit world, the 4th level was indeed already among the strongest tiers within the bit.

Calling it a 'god' was also well deserved!

It was because the goblins had done so much for this that the old goblin gonga was worried that the difficulties he presented would scare the young human wizard away.

"...We can solve all the other difficulties ourselves. But there are three problems that we goblins alone will never be able to solve..."

"Say!"

"First, there is the issue of the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Although Lord Sorcerer has assigned us five sorcerer apprentices, and under their guidance, we are able to perform some rune line etching work. But there are still too few, too few goblins who have mastered this technique... At the very least, in order to etch the runic lines and various effects of the witch array inside this magic weapon puppet dragon, the current number of sorcerer apprentices alone is far from enough.... "

Grim gazed and thought for a moment, quickly obtained some internal information about the family from the chip, and then cut off the old goblin's reply.

"From the day after tomorrow, I will transfer you another hundred apprentice witches from within the family, and the number of witches will increase, so that they can cooperate with you in your work..."

A small cheer immediately erupted among the surrounding goblins!
