Age of Adepts

Chapter 0895 - Bargaining.

"Tell me, what do you want to see me about this time?" Grim didn't have the good sense to speak up.

"My lord, I hear you promised them a shipment of Quillus Alloy in the Goblin Plane?" The air in the steel hall vibrated gently, and the brain monster Gazluvi had to vibrate the air with his mental power to accommodate Grim.

"You're well informed, though!" Grim smiled faintly, "I haven't even warmed up to that in the Goblin Plane, and you've already smelled it in the Lance Plane!"

"Of course, after all, the Goblin Plane was once my homeland as well, so I still have some connections there..." the Brain Monster smiled heedlessly.

"I'm warning you, the focus of your development is now on the Lance Plane, so make sure you hold this forward base to the death, and don't let the dragons expel you. As for the goblin bit over there, you shouldn't interfere recklessly and affect the family's development..." although the brain monster had been behaving well for a while, Grim still couldn't help but knock it around again.

This Brain Monster Gazruvi was a bully, and once it was too lenient with it, it could easily trigger a revolt in its power.

As for loyalty? Grim wasn't so stupid as to trust the loyalty of a 3rd order brain monster!

He and the brain monster Gazruvi were now clearly superiors and the other was his subordinate, but in reality they were more akin to allies. The brand he had once placed in the Brain Monster's soul could actually be erased long ago with its strength.

If it wasn't for the fact that Grim still had some back-up in the Super Magical Melting Pot, and the fact that the Brain Monster didn't have the confidence to withstand the Crimson Family's backlash, I'm afraid that Ghazruvi would've been free of Grim's soul bondage long ago, living his own little life on his own!

Therefore, for this 3rd stage brain monster that flew higher and higher and always had the risk of breaking free of the kite cord, Grim needed to be careful and cautious every time he dealt with it.

"Understood! Don't worry, my lord, those dragons have tried many times. They were able to heavily damage my Eternal Capital, but it's a delusion to uproot the place. If they dare to come again, I will definitely make them regret this!"

"That's good..."

"My lord, you see... the Eternal Capital has entered a bottleneck by now. In the short term, those dragons can't fight in, and we can't attack out... the problem lies in the Quillus Alloy! You see... are you also allocating some Quillus Alloy to the Eternal Capital?" The brain monster carefully tested the waters.

Grim smiled coldly and opened his mouth, "Those goblins have promised to build me a Demonic Armament Puppet Dragon with a strength of Stage 4 within a year or two, that's why I bit the bullet and allocated them Quillus Alloy. How about you? And what do you bring to the table? You're not going to just take my baby away empty-handed, are you?"

Grim's tone was unkind, but the Brain Monster's heart was steeped in excitement.

It was really afraid that Grim only had that little stock in his hands. That way, even if it talked its way out of it, it wouldn't be able to take away that batch of Quillus Alloy from the Goblin camp. After all, the value of a 4th stage Demonic Puppet Dragon was simply incredibly high, and it couldn't take such a large sum of money to cross a bar.

"My lord, I can provide you with another Magic Armament Legion that amounts to a thousand..."

"I don't need the magic armor legions for now, the Crimson Family is currently developing quite steadily and there is no pressing pressure for war. So you'd better use these magic armor legions yourself!"

"My lord, I can attack the Giant Dragon Lords for you..."

"Yeah, with the Magic Armor Legion you're currently hoarding, taking down a few giant dragon territories will definitely not be a problem. But... "Grim couldn't help but narrow his eyes and smile, "How many dragons can you capture for me?"

"....... "The brain monster Gazruvi was embarrassingly silent.

It couldn't be helped, this was actually the shortest part of its strength!

The tens of thousands of Demon Armor legions were like a torrent of steel, enough to flatten the territories and lairs of any dragon lord below 4th level. However, in order to capture the dragon, the brain monster Ghazruvi was helpless.

Although it was up to rank 3 itself, it wasn't good at fighting.

Even though it now possessed psychic abilities as a weapon, it was unwilling to step onto the battlefield for fear of death. And yet the many subordinates it had created were never able to control the sky.

But... which dragon lord from the Lance Dimension couldn't fly?

At the sight of the unstoppable Magic Armament Army, those dragons would not hide in their lair and wait to die. Before the Demon Armor Army could storm its lair, it had already packed its bags and ran away.

Therefore, it was easy for the Magic Armament Legion to defeat the Giant Dragon Lords, but it was a delusion to capture those dragons flying high above the blue sky.

This problem would be solved if... if Grim was willing to provide some magical melting furnaces for the Brain Monster to build a batch of floating giant ships!

So, even though he knew it was a bit humiliating, the brain monster Gazluvi still couldn't resist trying to get some Quillus Alloy early.

Seeing that the brain monster was silent, Grim couldn't help but change the subject.

"Where is Thoron Ames? What is it doing these days?"

The one who answered the question was Fractal Brain Gru.

"Lord Ames occupies a vast territory 300 miles away in the southwest corner of the Eternal Capital, and is living it up there! That female dragon is double-crossing with it again..."

"Well, keep it safe! I'm afraid that by now, most of the dragon lords in the Lance Plane are aware of its connection to us. Be careful not to let the dragons trick it into a trap..." frowned Grim.

"I will see to the safety of Lord Ames' territory!" Brainsplitting Grue still had a flattering expression: "My lord, I heard that you already have a territory in both the central and northern part of the Wizard Continent, and it's the time when you lack a huge air force... Why don't you let me build an invincible air fleet for you! "

"Oh? How exactly?" Grim was rather intrigued by the other party.

"What our Eternal Capital doesn't lack is a large amount of metal, but it lacks magical melting furnaces. As long as you take out two magical melting furnaces, we will help you build a cruising mothership for free. Don't you forget that the magic weapon blueprints in the hands of those little goblins are from my original predecessor..."

The brain monster Gazruvi remained silent, seemingly acquiescing to the proposal of the split-brain Grim.

Grim's eyes couldn't help but narrow.

"I'll give you two magical melting furnaces, and you'll keep one for your own use and one to build a cruiser mothership for me? Is that what it means?"

"Yes!"

"Hey, that sounds like a good proposal. But...those little goblins seem to be able to do it too. And I took out two magical melting pots, and they rewarded me with two cruising carriers!"

Fractal Brain Gru that octopus-like brain covertly and silently communicated with the subject.

Almost without hesitation, Fractal Brain Gru's offer was raised again.

"Two magical melting furnaces, we'll build a cruising mothership for you, and we'll also attach a 300-strong magical armour army, all guaranteed to be of 1st-rank high quality..."

"I'll take out three magical melting pots, and you'll build me two cruising motherships that come with a 500-man magical armada..."

"This..."

"Also, the cruiser mothership you built yourself is subject to deployment in the event of family need. But if any damage occurs, the family will pay for it in full!"

After another half day of silent deliberation between the split-brain Grue and the subject, they finally 'reluctantly' agreed.

In fact, it was just a strategy of the Brain Grouch!

It sounds like a deal like this is going to cost the Brain Monster a lot of dry goods, but when you get down to the nitty-gritty, it doesn't hurt its mettle at all. What does the Brain Monster lose by building the Cruiser Mothership and the Magic Armada?

Just some magic alloys and time!

Magic alloys can be found in the Lance Plane for metal veins to mine, and the factories and magical energy to build them are all owned by the Brain Monster itself. Something like that would literally take as much as it needs, given time and energy!

Therefore, even though the conditions that Grim proposed were so 'harsh', the Brain Monster still considered it worthwhile.

"Then, my lord, how many magical melting furnaces are you planning to provide us with first?" Sub-Brain Gru finally managed to probe Grim's background.

"Let's start with the standard of six magical melting pots! When are you going to show me four cruiser carriers, and when am I going to deliver you six magical melting pots."

Fractal Brain Grew was not ecstatic.

Six cruising motherships... this wasn't that difficult for the Eternal Capital, and I'm afraid that it would only take a month at most to successfully build them. But then, the Eternal Capital's metal stash would be a bit tight.

It seems that we need to hurry up and send out prospecting teams to find all the metal veins near the Eternal Capital sooner....

A quick agreement was reached and both sides landed on a happy ending!

Grim didn't stay too long in the Eternal Capital, turning around and stepping onto the teleportation array to return to the Wizard World.

................

Wizard World, Destiny Gauntlet.

As the dazzling white light of the teleportation array faded away, Grim saw Alice outside the array who had come to welcome her.

She was followed by that berserk witch Sophia and another newly promoted Destiny Witch.

The other looked a bit haggard after not seeing her for all these days, but her mental state was good.

"How is it? I've heard that you lost a lot of Destiny power in this war, and didn't damage your soul origin, right?" Grim took a few steps out of the teleportation and took Alice's waist in his stride.

Although there was already skin to skin, Alice was still not comfortable with Grim making out with her in public. The moment Grim's warm hands helped her waist and limbs, Alice blushed pretty and gave him a fierce white glance, but didn't knock down the big hand that was pounding the monster.

"It's been days since the big victory, and you've been rushed so many times before you were willing to come once. Hmph, it seems there's no place for me in your heart..." grumbled Alice uncharacteristically.

"Don't change the subject, tell me, how much Fate power did you lose in this war?" Grim asked in a low voice again.

Alice couldn't help but sigh softly, "We Fate Witches don't have much fighting power, relying on this hand of fate plus. But fortunately, we still won, otherwise, I would have really lost this time!"
