Age of Adepts

Chapter 0947 - Divine Light.

What came was a group of cavalry.

With thunderous hoof bursts, a cavalry troop of two to three hundred people broke into the wilderness and desperately strangled their horses three hundred meters away from the two witches' bonfire.

This was an elite cavalry unit belonging to the Zambis Empire, and the members of the unit had their breastplates and shield weapons engraved with a striking logo. Unfortunately, neither Grim nor Katy the Knife were citizens of the Zambis Empire, and had only been in this dimension for a short time, so there was no way to know their identities or troop numbers.

However, even if they had that opportunity to learn that information, Grim and Katie would automatically ignore it.

The power level of this dimension was simply not comparable to the Wizard World, and even that made the traditional force of this dimension an object of contempt for the two wizards.

Although Grim and Katie had difficulty exerting 100% of their strength in the Enwick bit, with their powerful fighting abilities and endless layers of bizarre sorcery, they were confident that they could cut down any indigenous 3rd rank that appeared in front of them.

As for those lower ranked bit natives, they were even more likely to kill as many as they came, not caring about the number of opponents at all. As long as they maintained the ability to come and go as they pleased, would there still be creatures on this plane that could leave them behind?

It was with this great confidence and strength that Grim and Katie, facing the menacing Zambis Empire Knights, not only did not have any intention of retreating and hiding, but they turned around and sized them up with interest.

The one who came was the St. Martin's Knights stationed in the largest city nearby, Hakans.

The leader of the group was a stout man with a full beard, a shaved head, and a sturdy but not clumsy body. His cold, knife-like face was full of fortitude, and his strong, straight body was covered with a simple, old-fashioned knight's armor. The overlapping sword and shield knight's insignia on his chest made it easy for people to guess his true identity, Kent, the sub-head of the St. Martin's Knights.

An elite knight corps in Norse, led by nothing more than a District 2 Silver Knight.

Although the radiant light of magic power flowing everywhere could be seen on their bodies, and they were all wearing magic armor and holding magic weapons, the lack of a 3rd ranked strong man to press the battlefield made them a bunch of ants that could be easily destroyed in the eyes of the two sorcerers.

The knights of Saint Martin didn't seem to have any idea about the rank of the two sorcerers. After they arrived at the scene, they dismounted from their horses and straightened their formation 300 meters away.

Less than a hundred meters away from the two bonfires, the team of knights hesitated a little before adjusting their direction, slowly closing in on Grim. The dozen or so knights that remained at the end of the line did not dismount, but kept their charge formation facing the direction of Knife Katy, acting as if they were on alert for the other party's moves.

Mercy for the weak? Or do you choose the weak?

Grim couldn't help but feel a hint of embarrassment at the fact that this group of Gryphons had chosen themselves as the target of their attack, and a bland anger rose within him.

Without hesitation, he summoned his elemental magic weapon and then held up the burning field.

After so many times of fighting with Saberage, Grim hadn't held up the Burning Field once. Not for any other reason, for not wanting to deplete his power.

Against a rank 3 opponent like Knife Katy, attacks below a certain limit were almost ineffective against her. Only highly condensed magical power and physical attacks could break through her protective force field and give her enough damage.

However, when Grim faced an enemy that was a bunch of mole crickets that won by sheer numbers, the burning field that poured over an area of several hundred meters immediately became a deadly field for the enemy to tread on.

Shouting slogans such as 'Holy light be with me' and 'Fight for glory', the Knights of Saint Martin's body was overflowing with layer after layer of radiant and holy pure white aura, and they charged towards Grim.

However, the first thing that greeted them was not Grim's sorcery, but the indestructible and huge body and indestructible violent iron fist of the elemental magic weapon.

Knock knock knock....

Taking heavy steps, the Elemental Demon Armament burst into the ranks of the knights with crimson flames, instantly setting off a bloody and brutal slaughter.

Thud, left and right punches swung, and two tin-can-like Saint Martin knights wearing heavy armor became flying birds, flying out twenty to thirty meters in one breath. Their thick armor resounded with a cracking sound of bones and tendons breaking beneath them, and they flew onto the gravel ground and never moved again.

As far as I could see, the armor on the chests of the two St. Martin's Knights was deeply dented, and the middle fist was already fiery hot, like a red-hot branding iron. A stream of dark red blood slowly swirled out from beneath their bodies, soaking a large portion of the surrounding land.

The rest of the Saint Martin's Knights, on the other hand, raised their magical longswords and shields and gathered around the elemental magic weapons, slashing and clashing wildly.

Holy Light Cross Slash!

Holy Light Judgment!

Sacred Storm!

The Hammer of Justice!

........

It was like suddenly breaking into a blacksmith's shop, the deafening sound of metal clanging ceaselessly to the ears. The deafening metallic clanging sound was accompanied by the dazzling divine light and imposing powerful battle techniques.

Under their crazy impacts and slashes, the metallic bodies of the elemental magic weapons shone with a stream of sparks. But like a rock in the midst of a ferocious torrent, the Elemental Demon Armor's modest body remained unmoved, instead smashing down a large area with one fist and one fireball, wearing down the enemy's numbers with a simple, brutal attack.

Seemingly realizing that the Elemental Demon Armament was just a summon from that terrifying sorcerer, the sub-commander of the Knights of St. Martin, Kent, and a group of his elite men formed into a formation and broke into Grim's pale red burning field.

Dry, suffocating, hot, and ubiquitous magical flames....

As soon as they broke into the Burning Realm, these indigenous knights of the Enewick Dimension got a taste of the power of a rank 3 Fire Witch. That 3rd rank wizard didn't even do anything on his own, he just held up a pale red boundary, allowing the holy knights who had broken into it to experience the pain of being baked by the flames.

"Convert all Sacred Seals to Fire Resistance!" The sturdy, brute bull-like Kent captain shouted loudly.

As he raised his broad-bladed sword, a milky-white divine aura overflowed, attaching a layer of magical luminescence to the bodies of all the nearby divine knights.

Excellent Fire Resistance?

The blue mane in Grim's black pupils flickered, quickly scanning and detecting the aura attribute that the group of holy knights had attached to themselves.

Fire Resistance +50....

With this layer of divine blessing, the flame damage brought to them by the Burning Realm was reduced by half in no time. And the remaining half, with their 'miscellaneous' strange aura, was actually becoming less and less, and was on the verge of reaching the point of primary fire immunity.

Grim couldn't help but narrow his eyes.

It seemed that he had underestimated these bit natives.

Their individual strength might not be very good, but once they were aggregated into groups, with the power of the group, with the common and pure belief in holy light, they could even push themselves to such a high level of strengthening!

But ants are ants after all, and even with layers of strengthening, they're just a bunch of slightly stronger ants!

Grim stretched out his hand and a rank 2 Lava Fireball instantly formed in his palm.

Backhandedly, he threw the lava fireball into the ranks of the knights, and the instantly erupting shockwave of flames sent hundreds of lava fragments flying in all directions like bullets.

Seven or eight 1st rank divine Knights fell silently, their armor now showing a huge hole pierced by the lava shards. The blood, flesh and armor inside was ignited by the heat, raging flames gushed out from the cracks in the armor, and the scorching smell of baking flesh and blood immediately spread in the arena.

The lava fireball was exploded on the shield that that Kent Sub-Leader held aloft.

The shield worth ten thousand gold coins and enchanted with a holy guardian immediately split apart, while the 2nd rank Kent put his long sword in front of him and condensed a holy light shield, which only then blocked the subsequent flame shockwave and the terrifying rain of lava fire.

If the previous Kent didn't know and understand the rank of the sorcerer in front of him, then now that he had experienced the opponent's attack firsthand, he instantly understood that this... was a 3rd rank sorcerer!

The Saint Martin's Knights were a regular knight order stationed in Harkens, the largest city in the northern part of the Zambis Empire, and their strength was well known even in the northern part of the Empire.

Ever since the incident in the border town, the highest commander of the empire stationed in Harkans had sent quite a few eyes and scouts to understand and find out the truth about the destruction of Lakeside Town. And not waiting for them to get the true and accurate information, the two otherworldly sorcerers stalked all the way out of the Cedrak Mountains in a mad dash, also causing untold great harm to the imperial citizens along the way.

Looking at the direction of travel of the two sorcerers, it was obvious that they were heading towards Tara City, the nearest imperial city to the Cedarrak Mountains.

In order to avoid Tara City and its 60,000 inhabitants becoming sacrifices for the two sorcerers, the Holy Light Knights could only abandon the sturdy city walls and the large number of infantry, and gathered some of their elite troops and rushed over directly.

In the middle of this wilderness, not more than 60 miles from the city of Tara, they encountered Grim and Katie, and thus broke out into this unexpected battle.

When Kent quickly judged the strength and class of the wizard in front of him, he also knew that the battle in front of him was hopelessly winnable. Therefore, under his loud shouts, the battered elite knights withdrew from the burning field and attempted to run to a distance to regroup into a formation.

Kent, the 2nd rank Silver Knight, on the other hand, shouted the Holy Light slogan, wrapped in layers of holy light, and madly surged towards Grim's side.

The burning field began to become frantic and fierce under the constant infusion of Grim's mental energy, and an oncoming stream of hot flames made Kent's advance difficult. The armor and sword on the front of his body became red hot and scorching under the impact of the violent flames, which also burnt his skin black.

However, this Kent Sub-Captain was really strong-willed, and even withstood the flame storm and approached Grim step by step. Every step forward would leave a scorching, pitch-black footprint behind him.

By the time Kent was less than twenty meters away from Grim and the bonfire, his entire body had been set on fire by the magical flames, and his surface skin was scorched and splintered. And still he ignored it, like a fish swimming against the current, he continued to move forward one step at a time.

Seeing that the skin on his opponent's surface had been burned to a pile of charcoal, the holy light protection outside his body was even more burned to a thousand holes, and his personal life breath was atrophied to the extreme. But only, the ray of light within the other man's chest grew purer and more divine.

Finally, Grim couldn't hold back any longer, pursed his lips and blew, a transparent flame blew on Kent's body, instantly causing his armor to melt, his flesh and bones to turn to ash, and his entire body to be gone.

And in the air, there was only a touch of pure and utterly milky holy light left behind!
