Age of Adepts

Order 0957 - 4th Grade Holy Ring

Chapter Four.

Under Grim's command, the elemental magical weapon strode up to this fine coffin bottle and pushed the lid down hard on one side.

A cold, decaying smell emanated from it, causing the temperature in the catacombs to plummet a few degrees.

If this wasn't the Holy Light Chapel, perhaps Grim would have to be careful about the possibility of this 4th order deceased mutating. In the Bit World, 4th rank was already the limit of power for most bits. At this rank, one only needed to take one more step forward, and one step away from immortality.

Therefore, most of the 4th order whose life span boiled over would place their corpses in advance. Without any precautionary treatment, with the strength of a 4th order creature's flesh* body and spirit, the chance of turning into an undead creature after death is almost 100%.

Therefore, the Zambis Empire would store the remains of most of the dead Paladins in the Catacombs of the Chapel of the Holy Light, in order to rely on the pure light of the Holy Light to prevent their bodies from transforming into powerful undead creatures.

As for the outward proclamation of tributes and remembrance, it's just a means to hide it!

Inside the coffin bottle lay on his back a middle-aged strong man with a bold, purple and gold face, wearing a golden body armor, a strange shield with a golden flying lion etched on its surface buckled upside down, and a strange long sword placed on one side of his body.

Although this 4th rank holy knight has been dead for hundreds of years, but the skin and face is still lifelike, suddenly looking at the eyes, it's like taking a lunch break, can't tell that it's already a dead person.

The blue mane in Grim's black pupils flickered and quickly scanned the quiet as usual 4th rank Paladin's body. Not a single hint of soul could be perceived in his body, but his flesh* body strength was kept exceptionally intact.

If a necromancer were to see a 4th level corpse so well preserved, he would be ecstatic. However, Grim isn't good at necromancy, so he can't turn the remains into a powerful undead creature, so I'm afraid he needs to think about how to squeeze the most out of it.

Grim carefully reached out and touched the 4th rank corpse, silently reciting the activation spell, intending to deposit it intact into his storage ring. However, when a faint spatial fluctuation enveloped the corpse, an overflow of magical energy actually blocked Grim's move.

Hey, what's going on?

Grim squinted to investigate and quickly followed the fluctuations in magical energy to the source of the accident!

On the end finger of the right hand of this rank 4 corpse, Grim discovered a magic ring inlaid with a large white crystal. Despite the centuries of silence and vicissitudes, the magic power on it was still glowing and luminous, so it was not an ordinary item at a glance.

Not to mention that magic ring, the armor and weaponry buried on top of the entire corpse were all glowing purple. Based on the residual energy levels of these magical items, Grim dared to assert that they were all 4th level magical equipment.

Such things, whether Grim could use them or not, taking them back to the Wizarding World would be worth a fortune individually, and would definitely make him a fortune.

Grim carefully removed the white crystal magic ring from the cadaver's tail finger and held it up before his eyes for closer analysis.

"Drops, one high-powered magic item found, do we do a depth scan?"

"Scan it!"

For an ordinary magic ring, it either stored some kind of special spell inside or was able to perform status boosting. But the Ring in front of me was of rank 4, and the power it contained was naturally not something that an ordinary Ring could compare to. But until it was discerned, Grim was obviously unable to use it.

Amidst a zinging noise, Grim felt his mental energy rapidly depleting, and finally, after half a quarter of an hour, the chip stopped scanning and parsing.

"Drops, depth scan completed... Magic item base data parsed as follows..."

"Item name: The Holy Ring of Soden."

"Item Level: 4."

"Item Attributes: +5 Strength +3 Constitution +1 Agility."

"Item Characteristics: This is the magic ring that 4th level Paladin Soden loved the most during his lifetime, possessing unspeakable power. It can transform any energy into the purest holy light at the wearer's whim, or attach a 400-degree holy attack to the wearer's attack when it hits an enemy, ignoring defense and magic resistance!"

.........

Grim's eyes suddenly burst open, staring at the Lord of the Rings properties that the chip projected into his mind, and his entire body shuddered slightly.

Damn, it was worthy of being a Tier 4 magic ring, not to mention the extra basic attributes it attached, the last item characteristic alone was powerful as hell!

Each attack has an additional 400 degrees of divine attack attached to it, a terrifying intensity that surpasses even most of Grim's 3rd level sorcery. The problem now was that it was unclear if this additional attack was only effective against melee combat, or if it was also effective against ranged sorcery.

If it worked on long-range sorcery as well, it would be like raising Grim's sorcery strength by 400 degrees out of thin air, and it was a cold divine attribute that ignored defense and magic resistance.

Grim held up the Soden Ring and kissed it furiously for half a day in one breath before he happily and beautifully put it on his right tail finger.

With it, Grim immediately had the chip scan his basic attribute again.

Grim, 3rd level beginner, occupation status: elemental sorcerer (flame specialization), body base data: strength 18+7 physique 21+4 agility 11+2 spirit 32+4, occupation skill: body of flame, body of inflammation....

Now, even if Grim hadn't transformed into an Inferno, he had 25 points of strength and 25 points of physique, and this physical strength even allowed him to fight a Tier 2 Silver Knight with his bare hands without losing a fight. Even without relying on sorcery protection, his body was able to withstand the full force of a Tier 1 Battle Cleric's attack.

After removing the Soden Sacred Ring, this 4th rank corpse would no longer be able to resist the spatial fluctuations of the storage ring.

In one breath, after all the items and remains in the coffin bottle had been put into the storage ring, Grim put his mind at ease and began to circle around to collect those items that had not been damaged by the flame shockwave.

What a rare bumper crop, the magical items in the large crypt almost completely filled up Grim's storage ring. After waiting three times to make sure that nothing more was missing, only then did Grim lead the elemental magical weapons back above the ground.

Grim stayed in the underground catacombs for two hours, and when he stepped out of the cathedral and flew high above the sky, only then did he realize that the Thunder Dragon Ames and the Flame Tiger Sindar had disappeared.

They were, after all, summoned by Grim from a different realm by virtue of a magical contract, and they couldn't have stayed in the Enwick Plane for too long. Once the summoning time was up, they would return to their original planes under the constraints of their sorcery power.

Therefore, Grim wasn't surprised by their disappearance.

Gazing high in the sky, Grim could see clearly that this once beautiful and peaceful otherworldly city was now devastated, almost becoming a huge ruin.

Earlier, the crazy war between the 3rd rank powerhouses had directly bulldozed and destroyed three streets and a large area of house buildings in the center of the city. The Gate of Flame that Grim had summoned had even unleashed thousands of otherworldly flame creatures.

Grim did not restrain these flame creatures in any way, and thus they had treated this human city as a monument to wander and explore at will, wandering aimlessly through Harkans city.

Out of their hatred for life and the flame creatures' own instincts, they spread flames and slaughtered flesh and blood life everywhere they went.

Therefore, it was these flame creatures that caused the most damage to the city of Harkans!

As for the later 3rd level Thunder Dragon Ames and 3rd level Flame Tiger Sindar, they only came here to seek money. As long as those humans didn't stand in their way of digging for treasure, they didn't have the time to go around slaughtering humans.

However, Grim could clearly see from the sky that the magnificent and luxurious City Hall in the distance was already billowing black smoke, large buildings had been dug through the roof, and one by one the treasuries were collapsing and falling down, looking miserable and desolate.

As for the trading district at the other end of the city, it was also in flames and looked like it had been burned through the roof.

Grim shook his head slightly and sighed under his breath, not daring to stop here too much, putting away his elemental magic weapon, summoning a Tier 1 Rock Python, and disappearing with a plunge into the ground.

...........

Wizarding World, High Tower of Fate.

Still on the astrological platform at the top of the tower.

Even in the brightest sunny afternoon of the day, this place is still dark, the dome is filled with the faint light of stars everywhere, the whole hall is dark and deep, a little palpable.

Still in front of that pair of wooden table, Alice wearing the star robe, satin-like smooth and silky long hair spread behind her, while arbitrarily finishing the hands of the tarot cards, while gentle and comfortable and magic mirror in the shadow whispering.

The way they are warm and intimate, outsiders who are unaware of the truth would think they are the best personal friends.

"It's been a month, why, how are things going on your end?" Alice shuffled the cards as she pursed her lips and smiled coquettishly, "But why do I feel like that guy you sent over there, his life breath has become a little weaker? It can't be that those bit natives caught the opportunity to surround and annihilate it!"

Listening to Alice's sarcastic sarcasm without the slightest hint of fireworks, the black shadow in the magic mirror did not say a word, only staring at her coldly through the magic mirror.

The struggle for the power of fate was exceptionally strange and unpredictable, and did not rely on basic strength as much as other areas.

For the alchemic sorcerers, whoever had more power and a higher constitution would have a greater and more advantage in battle. The same reasoning held true in the ranks of the elemental witches, but the elemental witches were more interested in mental strength.

But for these two Fate Witches, great strength would only make her calculate more and deeper, but it would not help in the contest of Fate's power.

When both of their eyes were simultaneously betting on that distant Envik Plane, with the Fate forces interfering with each other, neither of them could actually grasp every step of the changes happening there. They could only rely on some vague perceptions of fate and divination to predict the development and changes of the situation there, with a huge delay.
