Age of Adepts

Chapter 0985 - Not One Less

The Paladin squad cautiously approached the Gonsas Volcano.

Although the peak of the volcano's eruption had passed, and the sky was no longer as terrifying as the previous natural disaster, there was still a burning flint spewing out of the volcano's crater, trailing a long tail of black smoke that would smash into the surrounding area.

Wherever it landed, it would burst, raising a high pillar of dust and crumbling into shards of flame all over the ground.

Due to the precautions taken, it was difficult for such a flint to pose much of a threat to the Paladin Squad. If the place where the firestone fell was too close to the squad, the silver knight leading the squad would use the Holy Light Cut to shatter the firestone overhead. As for the shards of the broken flint, it wouldn't hurt the squad members yet.

However, the squad still lost two members while climbing up towards the crater.

As they passed through a dense area of mountain crevices, a sudden eruption of hot flames wrapped the two Paladins in it. By the time the flames died down, only two charred corpses were left in the spot. The armor was still there, but the corpses were scorched and scattered black with flesh and sinew.

Unable to help their companions sort through the bones, the squad members said a few silent prayers in the same spot, and they too were back on their way.

What exactly awaited them ahead, the members of the squad didn't know, they only knew that their party had to find out information about those witches. Only then would they be able to inform the correct decisions of the top brass.

However, as they climbed halfway up the volcano, the mountain beneath their feet began to tremble and sway violently.

Within the belly of the mountain, a huge rumbling roar could not be heard.

And in the midst of the deafening boom, a fury that shook their hearts and minds suddenly descended, making them dizzy, their hearts pounding, and their legs shaking so hard they could barely stand.

Dragon Might...it was Dragon Might!

The silver knight leading the group changed dramatically, quickly identifying the source of the violent atmosphere.

However, without waiting for him to turn around and say something to his companions behind him, an earth-shattering explosion was heard from inside the volcano, followed by the conical crater collapsing downwards.

Hundreds and thousands of tons of volcanic rock, sand, dirt, and tumbling magma thundered down from above, covering almost all of the area around the Gonsas Volcano.

The Paladin squad with only seven people left didn't even make an effort to scream before they were poured down by the mudslide and scalding magma like a running horse. And in the midst of this terrifying scene of natural disaster, three shadows flew out from within the crater and rushed into the distance without hesitation.

Ow....

A long, long dragon roar suddenly sounded.

A blue dragon with a dazzling thunderous light rolling all over its body rose from the volcano crater, and on its back stood an unstoppable and terrifying Infernal Demon. Beneath them, amidst the spewing pillars of lava fire, an astonishingly ferocious Flame Tiger was also looming.

Seemingly discovering the pursuers behind them, the three shadows in front of them immediately changed direction and fled to different regions.

"Thunder Dragon and I will go after that giant snake sorcerer, you go after that mind warlock..." the Grim who was perched high on top of Thunder Dragon's back shouted harshly.

He had simply given too much in this war, and if he let the other party go like this, this bad breath in his chest would fry him.

"You're willing to let that old hag go?" The flaming tiger Sindar inquired with full care, its fluid flame-like tiger body could move through the flames at will, more convenient than Grim's flame jumping, so it didn't care that much who it chased.

"Well, count her unlucky, there's someone waiting for her in the direction she's running!"

With a brief explanation, Grim stepped lightly on the brontosaurus. Ames raised his neck with a long, resounding roar, and his broad dragon wings shook wildly, creating a gale beneath him, carrying Grim into a swift blue lightning and chasing after the ugly serpent figure.

"Jie Jie, a human 3rd rank mind warlock...hmm!" With a soft snort, the flaming tiger Sindar's four feet stepped on the ground, and his entire body had disappeared into the flames.

And in a fire field half a mile away, Sindar surfaced silently, looked up to have a look at the witch who was still flying over the woodland three miles away, and disappeared again as soon as her body sank.

The psychic warlock, Benigia, flew at a frantic pace, frantically charging herself with spirit wing, flight and visual evasion as she flew. Halfway through her flight, she suddenly felt a hot and unpleasantly violent breath surge up to her heart, and she knew immediately that it was bad.

Looking back, she didn't find any enemy chasing her behind her, but the lingering sense of crisis made her tremble.

Without hesitation, Benicia plunged into the jungle below her, took out a bottle of purple medicine from her belt pouch and poured it into her mouth, then strangely transformed into a gray gopher the size of a palm, stood upright and looked around, but didn't find any enemy, before carefully burrowing into the thick underbrush.

A moment later, Flame Tiger Sindar silently jumped down from the surrounding tall ancient trees, lifting his nose to gently sniff the remaining scent in the air.

Mind Warlocks might not be strong enough for anything else, but their disguise and concealment skills were absolutely first-rate.

Coupled with the layers of psychic sorcery, as long as the enemy didn't lock onto her body with their eyes or mind, ordinary investigation and prophecy techniques would be easily diverted to other places by the psychic hints she laid down.

But how could a Flame Tiger be compared to any other creature!

It might not be able to smell the body odor of a mind sorcerer or the scent of mind sorcery, but the flame energy that hadn't been dispelled in time in Benija's body couldn't be hidden from its powerful senses.

The flaming tiger followed the flame scent as it turned left and right among the forest floor, running out intermittently for two or three miles before stopping in front of a tall, ancient tree.

The right foot stepped on the ground, and a bright yellow flame swept away, burning away the thickly rotting dead branches and fallen leaves under the ancient tree, revealing a fist-sized hole in the earth beneath the tree's roots.

Yan Hu Xindar grunted, opened his mouth to the front of the hole and spewed out a stream of hot flames, the terrifying flames flowed everywhere in the twisting and turning passageway underground, and from time to time, a sky-high wave of air would come out from within a hundred meters of the surrounding area.

The flame tiger heard it clearly, and a miserable, sharp scream was immediately heard from somewhere underground!

A moment later, the gopher turned Benicia ran out of a hole covered in scorched black, and before she could disguise herself with her sorcery, a flaming tiger claw the size of a basin pinned her down in the mud.

Benicia looked up in horror and saw a sudden and terrifying tiger mouth.

................

The Plague Poison Spirit Remi Ug, who was leading the Plague Legion's furious march towards the Volcanic Region, slapped the giant beast beneath it and stopped its progress.

After a moment of silent perception, it quickly received a message from Grim.

Hmm, that old poisonous woman was coming in this direction?

Remy's dark green face immediately revealed an unkind sneer, and with a slight nuzzle, the Plague Legion's direction of advance was fine-tuned, rushing towards somewhere between the woodlands.

Next to a forest stream, the Plague Legion led by Remy just happened to 'bump into' the old poisonous woman who was riding on a flying broom and quickly moving through the dense forest.

In order to avoid being tracked by the enemy, Old Poisoness Gwynevere didn't dare to fly high, but instead chose to lower her altitude and weave her way through the leafy, dense forest. This way, although she flew a little slower, she was more stealthy.

To be honest, as she flew along, she kept looking back, but she was completely unprepared for being intercepted from the front.

When she saw the strange creatures leaping and running through the dense forest one by one, and saw Remy standing on the back of a Level 2 beast, the old Poison Woman's ugly and disgusting face became even uglier.

A vial of medicine was thrown down by her, landing on the ground and turning into a bizarrely shaped poisonous voodoo beast, most of which had the strength of rank 2, and a swamp venomous lizard with the strength of rank 3.

Faced with such enemies, Remy didn't care, and with a snap of his fingers, hundreds of poisonous corpses rushed up, instantly drowning the enemies in a sea of soldiers with their terrifying numbers. Those 2nd and 3rd rank enemies were covered with dense poisonous corpses one by one, hardened into an incessantly writhing pile of corpses on the spot.

And those 1st rank servant corpses and 2nd rank plague messengers, on the other hand, hurriedly pounced on the old poisonous woman.

A plague poison arrow, a cloud of plague poison, and a ripple of intense poison... swiftly surrounded that old poison woman from all directions.

The old poison woman waved her hands in faith, and wherever the invisible and qualitative poison casting spell went, even the servant corpse that was already a plague creature would find it hard to resist. As soon as their lean, dry bodies were tainted with the toxin, they quickly softened into mud and then turned into a puddle of purple-black, foul-smelling poisonous water.

Ordinary plague creatures could only tangle with the old poisonous woman, but it was nearly impossible to kill her!

A 3rd rank could only be dealt with by another 3rd rank as well.

Remy drove the plague behemoth beneath him to approach within a hundred meters of her while the old poison woman was busy applying the poison, then blew an invisible poisonous wind at her.

Even with Gwynevere's resistance to toxins, she couldn't help but shiver as the poisonous wind blew onto her body. There was immediately a vague stinging pain in the internal organs of her body, as if completely tiny poisonous insects were frantically gnawing away at her body.

"Damn bastard boy, you're looking for death..." the old poisonous woman screamed in a crazy and miserable manner, her eyes, ears, mouth and nose simultaneously flowing down purple-black blood. And through the scream's suddenly elevated mental energy, an invisible poison also suddenly began to spread over Remy's body.

In terms of poison casting alone, Remy, who had just advanced a few days, was definitely no match for Old Poisoness.

But in the face of Old Poison Woman's lose-lose approach, Pestilence Poison Spirit Remy screamed wildly.

With its fierce screams, the many Plague Poison Corpses that were rushing to the battlefield on the outskirts fell to the ground, and the bit of Plague Essence at the core was mercilessly siphoned away by Remy.

With the replenishment of these plague elixirs, Remy struggled to resist the other party's strange poisoning technique, and also couldn't stop pouring plague seeds into the old poison woman's body.

The two sides screamed miserably and fiercely strangled each other like this!
