Age of Adepts

Chapter 1014 - Behind the Scenes

Scattered Earth Tallinn, Keslin Castle.

Within a quiet and mysterious chamber, a group of wizards with different forms were gawking at the dense magic water mirror on the conference table. The light and shadows in it are changing, and the magic power is vibrating, presenting precisely the shocking war between the wizards' families outside Song Tower.

When the Crimson Family's Magic Armament Legion and the Fabres Family's sorcerers and foreign legions were fighting to the death, the group of sorcerers were instead chatting quietly, as if the bloody battlefield where dozens of lives were lost every minute was not worth mentioning at all.

It wasn't until the strongest warriors from both families had successively appeared on stage and a battle had broken out between a 4th rank Body Tempering Sorcerer versus a 4th rank Magic Puppet and a 3rd rank Fire Witch combination, that they put away their careless attitude and began to silently examine the family war that was taking place tens of thousands of miles away.

"They say that Crimson Family has a metal-rich goblin bit saved in their hands, but it seems to be true..." a black-mouthed, black-faced male witch exclaimed softly as he looked at the huge metal puppet that seemed like a moving hill. "Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to scrape together so much magic alloy even if they hollowed out the Alois region!"

"I can't believe that a 3rd stage witch could last so long under Declan... Declan has stepped on a nail this time, huh..." another middle-aged witch with a light veil over her face gloated and laughed.

The rest of the witches even made their own comments about the battle that took place in the distance, but most of them were scornful and sarcastic words about Declan.

As the battle became more and more intense and both sides came up with some amazing tactics, these witches finally began to take a serious look at the 3rd rank Fire Witch who had fought on equal terms with Declan.

"Who can tell what kind of sorcery that kid is using? Why were his attacks able to penetrate Declan's defensive force field? This doesn't make sense..." someone finally raised a question.

A somewhat old-faced, tortoiseshell glasses-wearing, old-school-looking sorcerer intoned, "This should be a very pure element of light! It is precisely because it is so pure that it is ignored by the defensive force field and treated as a natural magic element that it is not isolated from the force field."

The rest of the sorcerers scrutinized it a few more times, nodding their heads in agreement with the old sorcerer's insight.

Light element... this was a very cold and remote natural energy, and it was understandable that it would be treated as an elemental background by the defensive force field.

If that Declan had known earlier that the 3rd Order Fire Witch possessed such a means, he would have found a way to counteract the damage from the light energy, where would he have passively endured the other party's incessant attacks like he did now.

And... that 3rd Order Fire Witch's attack seemed a bit too strong!

"Is that Grim really a 3rd level wizard? Why is his attack power so amazing? I estimated that the strength of his base attack has reached 900 degrees, and it's consistent. This... seems to be beyond what a 3rd stage elemental sorcerer should be." A sorcerer couldn't help but frown and think hard.

"Yeah, most 3rd rank sorcerers have a basic attack of around 400 degrees. Even the Elemental Specialization class can only raise their basic attacks by around 100 degrees, so how can they reach 900 degrees? Wouldn't that already be on par with our 4th rank wizards?" Immediately someone echoed the comment.

"Maybe it was attached to that outfit he was wearing! All those pieces of equipment on this kid look suspicious..." someone speculated.

"Look closely at that ring on his right tail finger..." finally someone seemed to have found something.

The lens of the magical water mirror was peering down from above, as Grim was standing tall on top of the puppet dragon's head, casting spells with both hands quickly, guiding a milky white beam of light to chase after Declan's swiftly flashing body.

On his exposed right hand, a strange and primitive mysterious ring was glittering with a strong magical air. The magical aura of this ring was purple.

"4th rank magic ring..."

"It's a 4th class..."

Many wizards let out a sigh in unison.

If the one who possessed the 4th Order Ring was a 4th Order Sorcerer, there would be nothing strange about it. But when a 4th Order Ring fell into the hands of a 3rd Order Sorcerer, the hearts of all the Sorcerers could not help but sigh in surprise.

The difficulty of crafting a 4th Order Sorcerer's weapon was already well known to all the Sorcerers.

Don't look at the dozen or so sorcerers present, all of whom were of the 4th rank, but there were still only a handful of sorceries on them that could reach the 4th rank. There was no way around it, it was simply too hard to create a witchcraft that was completely in tune with one's soul origin and natural attributes.

And such an item could never be faked by someone else!

So almost everyone was a qualified master alchemist, but even so, High Tier Sorcerers were still so rare. The sudden discovery of a 4th-rank Magic Ring in the hands of a 3rd-rank sorcerer at this moment, the hearts of many 4th-rank sorcerers present were extremely complicated.

"It seems that this magic ring should have been obtained from some other dimension, and is able to convert its own magical energy into pure light energy..." that old learned sorcerer couldn't help but continue to comment.

"In addition to the conversion, in my opinion, that magic ring also has a portion of light damage attached to it, otherwise his basic attack couldn't be that high..." the other sorcerer interjected.

The people present were all 4th stage sorcerers, all of them were knowledgeable and superhumanly learned sorcery people, they commented a few sentences one after another, and they also estimated the strange attribute of this 4th stage magic ring by an eight*nine percent.

The hundreds of damage attached to this magic ring, they might not be able to see it in their eyes, but it was able to convert their own magic energy into light energy with super penetrating power, this strange ability, if utilized properly, could definitely make their enemies suffer a big loss at a critical time.

So as they continued to watch the battle, several witches couldn't help but have a hint of greed in their eyes.

But at this moment, someone suddenly jacked in, "It seems that the idea of wiping out this Crimson Family is no longer possible. Then... what kind of attitude should we treat this fire witch with next?"

For a time, the crowd of witches was silent.

After a long time, someone finally spoke up.

The one who spoke was an old sorcerer with white eyebrows and beard, and judging from the respect the sorcerers had for him, he seemed to be the most distinguished and oldest of them all.

Freed, 4th rank wizard, President of the Scattered Earth Tarin Association.

"Look at the outcome of this battle! If Declan is victorious, banish the fire witch, along with his Crimson family, from the Scattered Tarin. If he does not win or lose...then the entire region of Alois will be his."

"And if he wins?" Someone couldn't help but follow up with a question.

"Is it possible?" Freed sunned calmly, "Don't forget, Declan has been advanced for over seven hundred years, how could he fail."

"I mean if..."

"If that fire witch really defeated Declan, I suggest that it would be a good idea to give him the status and power of a 4th rank wizard and bring him into the association as well..."

"No, I object..." a cold and dry man's voice sounded.

The crowd of witches turned to look, only then did they discover that the one who spoke was Alfred, the Lord of Molten Fire City, who was wearing a grey robe.

"Why, Alfred? Do you have a grudge against that kid too?" Someone asked in surprise.

"Hmph, my Molten Fire City had an invasion of foreign beasts a few decades ago, and this Fire Witch was involved as a taskmaster. At that time, I didn't understand this kid. Now, I'm afraid that the foreign beast invasion at that time was this kid's handiwork. So, if he wants to join the association, we really need to settle that score between us!" Alfred muffled a few simple explanations without good humor.

"So...are there any other objections to this Fire Witch joining the Association?" President Freed began to look around.

"I object too!" This time the one who spoke was the old scholarly looking wizard.

"Matthew, how is it that you..." couldn't help but be slightly startled by Freed.

"I'm not opposing this for myself, but for the Sarupo family. They've sent me a lot of resources, so I have no choice but to stand up against it!" Matthew Sorcerer didn't hold anything back though, and explained everything with a smile.

"Well, since there are objections, let's let go of the matter of pulling this Fire Witch into the Association in advance and see if he can advance to rank 4..."

However, just as the crowd of witches were discussing the lively and unusual situation, some unexpected and bizarre changes suddenly appeared within the magic water mirror in the center of the chamber.

............

The battle outside of Song Tower City was still continuing.

High above the dome of the sky, hidden in the thick clouds, an unusually stealthy falcon was soaring on wings.

Beneath it was the battlefield where two 4th rankers were struggling bitterly.

Sensing the terrifying magical power fluctuations coming in waves, if this falcon was just an ordinary demon, it would have already escaped from the wind, how could it stay in such a dangerous place.

The falcon was holding a sorcery crystal on its sharp and razor-sharp hind claws, and was pointing its lens firmly at the battlefield. As it watched, the battle that had lasted for three hours was nearing its end.

The Declan Sorcerer was actually about to lose the battle!

Yes, facing the strong combination of a 3rd rank Fire Witch and a 4th rank Magic Puppet Dragon, Declan, who was also a 4th rank Body Refining Witch, was no longer able to continue fighting. The reason why his battle power was draining so badly was the strange white light of the Legendary Fire Witch.

Whenever Declan was hit by that white light, apart from the high temperature burns on the surface of his flesh* body, it was the sorcery energy in his body that was being consumed bit by bit.

And the several times that Declan's close assaults were captured by the Grim Chip's Combat Auxiliary System, and then the three energy pillars were aggregated to give the opponent a head-on attack. Even with Declan's superior physique, it was difficult for him to resist this level of energy attack, thus ending up with negative injuries and retreating.

In order to repair these injuries, Declan again had to lose a large amount of sorcery energy.

Thus, after three hours of high-intensity fighting, Declan's stamina had gradually bottomed out!
