Age of Adepts

1037 - Magic Pod

Grim and Sanaza's battle had completely destroyed the vast expanse of forest.

In a short span of three days, their power gradually climbed from the trough to some sort of peak, and then fell down from the peak bit by bit. Two points in time in particular could reveal their unparalleled strength.

The first point in time was the 10th hour after the start of the war, when Grim, who had been crushed by Sanaza's strong strength and terrifying physique, suddenly burst out with amazing strength, and at one point even fought the other party with only flesh* body strength.

And from then on, it became an absurd time when Grim, whose strength had skyrocketed, in turn hung Sanaza.

The super strength that was not weaker than Sanaza's, coupled with the incredibly powerful flame sorcery, and the unguarded and terrifying holy light... These became Grim's crazy battle capital, and in turn forced Sanaza's head, once beating her into a mess.

But the good news was that this situation only lasted for 8 hours.

In the eighteenth hour after they started the battle, Sanaza, who was at a complete disadvantage in the battle situation, also suddenly surged in strength, which was able to resist Grim's madness and return the situation back to its previous delicate and fragile balance.

And these two points in time were naturally the moments when they had resolved the laws of the bit plane, thus initially getting rid of the bit plane suppression. Those who had a mind to use this time gap could naturally also deduce some physical intelligence that they were unwilling to make public.

The two were both 3rd level peak sorcerers, and despite the differences in elemental and bloodline systems, their strengths should have been similar. Yet that Grim had even eliminated the bit suppression a full 8 hours earlier than Sanaza, and the intelligence leaking out behind that number was already enough to cause some people to be wary.

Up to this point, the bit surface suppression of their strength, though present, was minimal.

The terrifying destructive power displayed by the two 3rd ranked sorcerers who were able to exert their full strength was most vividly displayed in this battle.

After 27 hours of frantic fighting and nearly a hundred miles of battle, the green forest was destroyed and its vitality was dim.

Wherever they went, the greenness receded, and everything died out, the scorched black earth was covered with a deep piece of shallow scorch marks and star-spotted pits. The bottom of these pits are either spider web-like scorched earth cracks or dazzling green slime.

From above, the original rolling green sea of forest in the middle of the ten thousand miles like a mangy head like a patch of dark dark spots, the remaining warmth of the dark red lava and green blindingly terrible slime everywhere, but also turned there into a life that is not close to death.

Finally, after 27 hours of bitter fighting, both participants felt exhausted, and had to stop fighting and separate to heal their wounds.

After all, the two only wanted to divide a winner and loser, not to determine life and death, so there was no need to push the other too hard. Moreover, one's own strength was severely reduced, and one might not be able to withstand the other's impromptu counterattack, so it was only right to stop while the going was good and each recovered their strength to above the safety line.

If fighting in blood was a kind of direct battle, then the next thing the two needed to compete was their respective recovery abilities.

Whoever recovers quickly will be able to seize the lead in the next battle; whoever recovers slowly will lack the strength and capital to fight, and can only be suppressed by the other side.

But even during the recovery period, both sides couldn't really allow the other to recover their strength so comfortably.

Grim opened a door of flame in passing, summoning hundreds of flaming creatures from the fire elemental plane to pounce on Sanaza, who was still struggling to heal herself thousands of meters away.

During the battle, Grim didn't summon the Gate of Flame once.

The reason was simple, the summoned flame creatures were too weak to intervene in the battle of a 3rd rank wizard. With that time and energy to summon a Flame Gate, it would be better to replace it with a Raging Fireball, which might even cause a bit more damage to the opponent.

However, now that it was a recovery period, then the advantage of this Flame Gate being able to continuously summon flame creatures would be evident.

Grim hadn't expected these flame creatures to be able to harm Sanaza, and was satisfied with them interfering with the other party's recovery more or less.

Hesitantly, Grim took out the Puppet Talisman and raised his hand to release the Elemental Magic Armament again, driving it towards Sanaza as well.

After all, the Elemental Magic Armament had already made many appearances and it was nearly impossible to hide it from people, so Grim took advantage of this time when both sides' strengths had fallen to a low ebb to release it.

How could Sanaza be unprepared for this signature 3rd level magic weapon beside Grim. An eerie smirk appeared on her face as she watched the huge magic weapon with its entire body clanking metal pull up from the ground.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time!"

With a soft murmur, Sanaza bowed her head and pulled out a grey wooden pot from her belt pouch, throwing it at the elemental demon that was charging towards her. The pot was the size of an ordinary human palm, unassuming in appearance, and didn't seem to have any sorcery protection on it, so it shattered in front of the elemental demon's chest without surprise.

The kettle shattered, and a strange golden pea soaked in the blue liquid splashed all over the floor, and naturally landed at the Elemental Demon's feet.

As soon as the golden pea hit the soil, the round, flattened pods rejoiced, and the six tiny leaves beneath them curled into jagged curls, holding themselves firmly in place. And at some point, the roots beneath the petiole had pierced into the soil like a sword and began to rapidly extend and burrow.

The golden pea....

The chip in Grim's mind took only a thousandth of a second to retrieve the information related to the golden pea, and then quickly transmitted it. Grim instantly browsed through all the information, and his face immediately changed.

"Destroy it... we can't let it take root..."

Grim shouted and gave an order to the Elemental Demon Armament.

There was actually no need to yell, after sensing the warning message from Grim, the Elemental Demon Armament had already raised its metal legs as thick as stone pillars and viciously stepped on the golden pea.

Unfortunately, it was too late!

With a loud, earth-shaking sound, the earth beneath the Elemental Demon Armament ruptured, and a green plant with a diameter of five meters rose from the ground, entangling itself in the sky. Like an endless ladder, the green plant grew and extended endlessly, and almost in the blink of an eye, it disappeared into the clouds with the Elemental Demon Armament, never to be seen again.

And in front of Grim's eyes, the sturdy root of the plant

"Damn, it really is a magic pod... "Grim looked at the thick roots that were still growing wildly upwards in front of him and couldn't help but cursed in a low, hateful voice. Due to the excessive growth speed of the magic pods, the sound of whistling wind could even be heard when you were close enough.

This kind of magic pod was both a sorcery creation and a strange sorcery.

Immersed in the Spring of Regeneration, once it was detached from the wooden kettle, it would grow wildly and reel away all creations within ten meters of itself. Seriously, it had no offensive power, it just 'unintentionally' reeled away elemental magic weapons as it grew crazily.

However, at certain times, it could perform an effect similar to an expulsion or trapping technique.

Of course, more often than not, the sorcerers who cultivated it were using it to stay alive.

At least in the vast majority of sorceries that Grim knew of, there wasn't one that could 'move' the caster hundreds of kilometers away in an instant. It was just that cultivating a magic pod required an inordinate amount of Spawn, which was a little too costly.

Although it was impossible for a sorcery creation like a magic pod to grow forever, the moment its long, long life force that had been stored for decades instantly exploded, it would be difficult for even a 3rd rank sorcerer like Grim to completely destroy it. What's more, in just 3-5 bending, the torso of the magic pod had already extended several hundred kilometers away, and even if Grim had bothered to destroy it, it would be impossible for him to pull the elemental magic weapon back.

That meant that in the next battle, the Elemental Demonic Armament would no longer be able to take the field!

Damn, such a good means of saving his life, but the other party only used it to cancel out his elemental magic weapon... Faced with such an extravagant means of sorcery, and a bloodline wizard who would rather spend a high price to make the elemental magic weapon leave the field, Grim had no choice but to curse a few times under his breath.

Surviving for only seven seconds, the magic pod's short life came to an end.

A sound similar to burning paper sounded, and the entire body of the magic pod that had grown into a giant creature instantly burned up and turned into ash, leaving behind only a crude pit and a puff of ash that scattered across the field.

As for the elemental magic weapon that it had swept away, it had long since disappeared without a trace, probably crashing to a place hundreds of miles away.

Ahem....

Grim really couldn't help but sigh in secret.

People were afraid of being famous and pigs were afraid of being strong, and as he stepped up to the pinnacle, everything he possessed was no longer a secret and became the object of study and deliberation for thousands of witches. I'm afraid that the ones who dared to participate in the battle of the mighty were clutching all sorts of bizarre methods that specifically targeted Grim, just waiting for him to take the lead!

What about your own plague poison spirit, Remy?

As soon as Grim released Remy tentatively, Sanaza, who was far away, pulled out a bizarre scroll of an archaic style with surging sorcery fluctuations.

Spirit Sealing!

The 3rd Order Sorcery Scroll!

The ability to temporarily seal a spirit-like magical creature, imprisoning it to some other dimension.

The Scroll was 3rd level, and it would naturally have no problem using it to deal with Remy who was only a 3rd level beginner, after all, it belonged to a spirit-like creature as well.

With a stiff face, Grim could only let Remy revert to a rune attached to his body.

So how do we fight next? Summon the brontosaurus?

Without having to verify it, however, Grim vetoed the idea.

After all, otherworldly creature summoning also belonged to sorcery, and I'm afraid that if the other party had been prepared, a simple 'banishment' wand would have rendered Thunder Dragon Ames useless. At that time, one would need to lose a large amount of mental energy and sorcery energy, definitely more than enough to compensate for the loss!

Thinking about it, Grim's face grew more and more ugly.
