Age of Adepts

Chapter 1043 - Conscripting Soldiers from Everywhere

Blue Sea Plane, Nairo City.

It was a medium-sized city with a population of no more than 50,000 to 60,000.

As a city dominated by humans, most of the buildings in Nairo City were made of wood, and the style was similar to that of the Wizard World, though different.

It was the time of day when the sun shone brightest.

Under the warm sunlight, this small human city was filled with tourists, business travelers, and a constant stream of heavy wagons loaded with all kinds of goods.

In the center of the city, a beautiful young girl in a purple lace dress was anxiously talking to a white-robed witch.

"Are you giving up on us now? Why, Miss Jona?"

The white-robed witch was a somewhat old-looking woman, with kind and amiable brows and a look of spoiled helplessness on her face. On the chest of her robe, she wore a strange magic badge, and the style on it was the logo of the Scattered Earth Tallinn Association.

And looking at the fluctuating energy scent on her body, this was only a rank 1 witch.

"Princess Aisha, we've gotten along very well these past few years, and I also like smart and studious students like you. However... the Association has suddenly sent a message for us to evacuate urgently without explaining why, so I can't help it!" The witch frowned and explained calmly.

"Is it...is it...related to the sudden outbreak of the terrible plague in the north?" Princess Aisha hissed and asked.

The white-robed witch was silent for a moment before she finally said, "You are not a member of the Association, and it is reasonable for me not to divulge this information and intelligence to you."

"Teacher... teacher... you've loved and cared for me the most all these years... I... I've always loved you like a mother in my heart ah! "Princess Aisha got even more excited.

"Well, I'll make an exception for once!" The white-robed witch gritted her teeth, "According to the information I received from the association earlier, the association will arrange a witch duel in the northern border of the duchy, Gordon's Heights, in the near future."

"Gordon's Highlands? It's thousands of miles from Nile City!"

"Yes, originally I also thought that this witch duel couldn't possibly spread to Naylor City. Unfortunately, judging from the current plague outbreak in the north, it should be some forbidden means used by a powerful wizard. As far as I know, the dozen or so cities in the north have lost contact, so it should be..."

At this point, the witch's voice became low and gloomy.

"Teacher, teacher, could it be that... with you sitting here, those witchy adults still dare to act recklessly? Teacher Jona, Nairobi is my only fiefdom! If this place is destroyed, I...I'll have nothing!" Princess Aisha struggled to shake the witch's arm, beads of tears rolling down, a miserable look of I see as pity.

The white-robed witch shook her head helplessly.

"If I were you, Aisha, hurry up and lead your relatives and subordinates to hide in the south. It's very dangerous to delay here for even a minute longer. As for the Association, don't count on it... Even if those adults used some forbidden means, the punishment for them will be a thing of the past. And a resident wizard like me can't change the decisions made by the upper echelons of the Association yet..."

At this point, the white-robed witch suddenly turned pale, threw herself in front of the large, shiny, floor-to-ceiling window, and gazed far into the northern sky.

There, above the sky, an inconspicuous black dot was floating and sinking.......

....................

Remy towered nearly a thousand meters above the sky, and beneath him was a huge mountain eagle with faded hair and a body covered in slime and pustules.

Bending down slightly, looking at the neat and beautiful chessboard-like city beneath him, and the dense crowd coming and going through it, Remy had a sardonic smile on his face. With a slight wave of its hand, large groups of black smoke globs emerged from its body, and then rushed down into the sky like a group of living creatures.

As the black smoke clusters continued to lower, they were also rapidly dividing and proliferating, transforming from tiny spores into plague germs that were hard to catch with the naked eye. The black smoke clusters were constantly fading and diluting, gradually disappearing completely.

However, in places that were hard to see, uncountable huge amounts of poisonous germs floated in the air, spreading with the gentle breeze to every corner of the small town.

Immediately, the sounds of violent coughing and vomiting resounded from all over the town, followed by a series of sounds of overturned furniture. Soon, the first batch of 'monsters' that couldn't withstand the plague germs and mutated appeared.

They may have been old and rickety dying men and women in life, or thin and weak young men and women, but when they mutated into poisonous corpses, not only did their own strength increase greatly, even their movements were much more agile than before. And what was even more frightening was their enormous numbers.

With their fast-growing claws and teeth, the crawling poison corpses rampaged through the walls and houses with a swiftness far beyond that of normal people, not caring even if they smashed the three-finger-thick boards with their heads.

In the streets and houses of the town, the miserable and terrifying screams of humans could be heard everywhere, and the fast climbing and leaping figures of poisonous corpses could be seen everywhere.

One by one, the panicked figures, completely unprepared, were thrown to the ground by the poisonous corpses, and in a miserable and frightening scream, the terrifying sound of wild beasts frantically gnawing and biting their prey could be heard.

Those humans who were a little stronger barely managed to resist the first wave of the plague transformation, and then it was not a blessing, but the beginning of an even greater ordeal. They coughed violently as they staggered and ran, their hearts and minds fearful as they dodged the terrifying poisonous corpses.

As the poisoned corpses could be seen leaping all over the city, they hid like headless flies, but had no idea where the real safe place was.

And so, just as the plague germs and poisonous corpses were attacking them inside and out, a second wave of plague transformation frenzy appeared!

Remy was perched high above the small town, indifferently looking down on everything happening below him.

Suddenly, its head turned and it stared coldly at the slightly gorgeous and exquisite building at the center of the small town.

There, a vague elemental fluctuation was emitted there.

Immediately, a female sorcerer in white robes was covered in lingering black smoke and screamed all the way up into the sky.

Association Sorcerer?

At a glimpse of the Society's emblem on the white witch's chest, Remy hesitated and waved away the plague germs that lingered on the witch's side.

"Are you the resident witch here?" Remy hissed.

The white-robed sorceress, Jona, looked in shock at the black smoke that was gradually dissipating around her, and only then did she let go of a bit of her worry. It was only when she heard the 'monster' overhead ask the question that she carefully drove the elemental particles to float herself to the other side.

"Hello, I'm the Association's resident witch assigned to the Duchy of Nisara, I wonder which lord you are?"

As she said that, the white-robed witch Jona secretly looked down on the Nello City below her.

Right now, the originally beautiful and peaceful little city had become a plague and poison dens, with unbearably horrifying scenes to be seen everywhere!

"If you're an Association Witch, then leave! I need to borrow someone here!"

"My lord, there are a few more people in the city I want to take with me...you see?"

"They're from the Association too?"

"Nope. But..."

"Then stay all! If you don't leave, I'll leave you with me..."

Hearing Remy's progressively impatient reply, the white-robed witch, Jona, could only shake her head glumly and leave.

And the moment she turned away, Jona saw very clearly that a group of ugly and hideous monsters rushed out from inside the palace, and one of the monsters still had a partial piece of purple gauze cloth on its body.

Seeing this scene, the last trace of hesitation on Jona's witch's face was completely cut off, and she bit her teeth hard and flew off into the distance without looking back.

The Plague Poison Spirit Remy saw that the small town plague creatures beneath it were already gaining size, and immediately used its Source Master's authority to give the order for them to rush to the distant battlefield to gather. As for itself, it continued to ride the Mountain Eagle and flew to the southwest.

There, 80 kilometers away, was another city.

This was the place where it had to personally go to reap the harvest.

As for the six or seven human towns or villages along the way, Remy would send out his newly evolved Plague Emissaries to gather the gathered troops. It was through this necessary node of accumulation and gathering of armpits that Remy was able to pull together a huge plague army in just ten days.

............

And while Gordon's Heights was fighting blood and gore, and the northern part of the Duchy of Nisara was suffering from a plague of empty space, the Scattered Tallinn Society, far away in the Wizarding World, was already in an uproar.

Although the Blue Ocean Seat was not considered an important resource seat within the Association, it was still a nice place to relax and vacation. Now, nearly 1/5 of the territory of the largest Nisara Duchy within the Circle has been invaded by a plague, and all the people living there have become ugly, horrible beasts.

Under such circumstances, is the Association going to sit back and watch that plague and poison spirit run amok?

The sorcerers within the association have split up into several factions over this issue, arguing over it.

Some of the more radical ones were calling for the association to severely punish the wretched fire witch, who had allowed the spirits to slaughter and destroy the association's property.

Some were more conservative, arguing that the association had placed the battlefield there, and that what the other party had done was clearly justified as a witchcraft tactic. A warning after the fact, and the payment of a few resources is fine.

There are others who have an ambiguous attitude, dissatisfied with the recklessness of the poisonous spirits and unwilling to appear too petty in front of thousands of witches.

As a result, the several parties had a hard time reconciling their opinions, so they were somewhat hardened against each other.

However, these were, after all, the opinions and attitudes of the lower and middle ranked witches. Compared to them, the higher-ranked sorcerers at the upper levels of the association appeared calm and cool, seemingly unconcerned about the temporary chaos of a small resource plane.

On the contrary, there were still some high-ranking sorcerers who were instead unexpectedly appreciative and sentimental about that legendary fire witch's desperate measures.

After all, in a witch battle, only the victor was qualified to defend himself!
