Age of Adepts

Chapter 1055 - Disengagement Plan

It was a month before Grim saw the Worm Witch Billis's request for an audience.

During this time, he had been busy with his own bloodline replacement, completely blocking all contact with the outside world. It was only when he took advantage of the time when his bloodline was successfully rebuilt and came out to nurse his body and soul that he saw the request for a meeting list listed up by the Tarin.

Any slight change in the bloodline was no small matter to the subject, let alone this kind of bloodline replacement that changed the world. The balance between the old bloodline and the body and soul was broken, and Grim's strength had fallen wildly to the bottom. Now, he was in dire need of building a power system in his body with the new bloodline at its core.

And this was clearly a long and difficult journey!

So, these days, Grim stepped out of the chamber and began to do his best to nurse his body.

For this retreat, Grim had already planned a few necessary steps for himself in his heart.

The first step, of course, was to adjust the foundation of his bloodline, replacing the human bloodline with the star beast bloodline, as well as giving himself an additional strange bloodline talent out of thin air.

The second stage was to build some necessary energy organs in one's body based on the new bloodline talent to replace those 'backward' original organs. One of the most preferred choices was the Inflammatory Demon Heart.

The current Infernal Heart was not only not beneficial to Grim in the slightest, but it was often reduced to a shortcoming in battle. Therefore, transforming it into a true 'Heart of Flame' could not be delayed!

The third stage was naturally the most important part of this retreat and transformation. That was to use the source mass to comprehend the rule power, thus advancing to the 4th stage.

The first two of these three major steps that Grim had formulated were all determined to further solidify his foundation. Only by rushing to smooth and clear all the power systems related to bloodline and sorcery before advancing to the next step, would it not affect the route of advancement after the 4th step.

And now, Grim had successfully replaced his bloodline with the Star Beast bloodline, had a Chaos physique, and had acquired a good bloodline talent as well. Thus, he had successfully crossed the first stage.

However, before starting the second stage, he still needed to allow the new bloodline in his body to mingle with his flesh*body and soul to a certain extent, thus building a new power system. Therefore, in between the two stages, he had taken the opportunity to learn about the situation within the family by doing nothing.

Most of the briefings presented to him by Taling were the work reports of several core family members, which did not require Grim to personally intervene, but only needed a brief understanding, so as to grasp the internal development of the family was also fine.

Within these intelligence and information, there weren't many things that really needed Grim's nod to decide, but there were still some.

For example, over at the White Tower in the North, Wenliel had sent up a top secret information and was eagerly awaiting Grim's approval. The Magical Energy Society, an underground organization created by the goblin princess Winnisha herself, has shown a hint of breaking away from the Crimson Family's control.

According to the 'nails' lurking in the Magic Energy Society, after more than forty years of development and growth, the Magic Energy Society had developed into a large force with hundreds of core members and nearly a thousand peripheral subordinates. And recently, the feathery and small Magic Energy Society had begun to grow restless, and was brewing an astonishing 'breakaway plan'!

The central idea of this 'detachment plan' is to rid the Goblin Plane of the Crimson Family's rule and allow the Goblins to become the sole rulers there again.

Their initial plan was to collect and organize as much of the Wizarding World's knowledge systems and alchemical achievements as possible, smuggling them into the Goblin Plane little by little. When the senior members of the Magic Council thought they had collected enough, they would unleash their core members to employ a 'suicide' attack while destroying the teleportation array that maintained a link between the Goblin Plane and the Crimson Family.

When the connection between the two sides was severed, they naturally regained their 'freedom' as well!

At that time, the Great Goblin Empire that regained its independence*, sitting on the foundation of the alchemical knowledge accumulated over hundreds of thousands of years in the Sorcerer's World, would take another route in the Goblin Plane to walk out of a magic energy technology development route suitable for goblins.

In this way, the goblin clan might be able to become a new and powerful tribe in the Multiverse, and thus rise to the top of the world!

I have to say that the first time he saw the Magician's Council briefing presented by Winryll, Grim almost cracked a smile. However, when he seriously thought about it, he was inexplicably amazed by the whimsy of these little things.

That Winnisha had really never abandoned her identity as a goblin princess, and was always, moment by moment, planning the independence and rise of the goblin clan*. Although their plans sounded actionable to a certain extent, in reality, they were so absurd and ridiculous.

Not to mention Grim, the legendary head of the family, I'm afraid that just a single core sorcerer of the Crimson Family could easily crush the 'secession plan' that they had been planning for nearly fifty years.

Not to mention, blowing up the teleportation array, which they regarded as the core key, was ridiculous.

Blowing up the teleportation array linking the two places would sever the connection between the Crimson Family and the Goblin Plane? This question is ridiculously childish!

In order to prevent this from happening, the Crimson Family executives had long ago buried special 'locating stones' in five hidden places in the Goblin Plane. Even if the Magic Energy Society's plan did succeed, the Crimson Sorcerers would still be able to calculate the world dowsing markers of the Goblin Plane through those locating stones.

At that time, it would be a matter of minutes to open a portal and pull up an army of elite sorcerers to kill the goblin planes.

Moreover, the goblins' vision and pattern was still too low to see how intense and bloody the development and evolution of the entire multiverse was!

Goblins...a race so low and lowly dared to presume to stand on top of the world?

That Goblin Princess Winnisha would have never dared to be so deluded if she knew what had happened to the Morian Plane.

The Morian Plane... a powerful and vast arcane empire, an arcane system that possessed a power almost comparable to that of sorcery. When they were unwilling to be lonely and wanted to also be among the world's forests, they were attacked by several powers and camps at the same time for no apparent reason.

In this cruel and bloody world, if you want to grow into a top predator, you must have the sharp fangs and sharp claws to drink the enemy away. Otherwise, your mature cries will not bring you the slightest bit of majesty, but will attract hordes of predatory creatures.

In your eyes, you may have been strong enough to have conquered one weakling after another. But in the eyes of those top predators, your gradually plumping and strong flesh is a delicacy they covet.

If you don't have the strength to protect yourself, then instead of rashly exposing yourself to the top predators, you'd be better off hiding in the fetid black mud like you did in the past, and continuing to live a closed and self-contained life of self-satisfaction.

At least, the Multiverse was so big and the endless sea of stars was so vast, no matter how sharp the ears and eyes of the Predators were, it would not be easy for them to find out every single bit world and invade and enslave them.

So, there was actually a paradox in the development of the bit worlds!

If a bitworld chose to close itself off and defend itself, it was true that it would be less likely to be discovered by predators, but it was also often difficult for its own strength to be enhanced. After all, the internal resources of a closed bitworld were limited, and although it could be constantly cycled, the total amount of bitworld origin was there, and the total amount of matter and life it could biochemically conjure up was also fixed.

Why was the Wizarding World so powerful?

Because the wizards stepped out of the plane, they invaded and enslaved many of the secondary planes, bringing back the resources and life within them to the wizarding world. This, too, invariably allowed the Origin of the Subdimensions in the Sorcerer's World to expand and grow, thus being able to biochemically grow more matter and life, and making the matter and life individuals within more 'powerful'.

Why did the witches look down so much on the natives of the secondary plane? In addition to psychological reasons, in terms of their physical structure and soul essence, the beings of the Wizard World were superior to the secondary plane natives.

The bit native nurtures all things and beings of the world and the living, and the powerful beings who bring back their loot to the bit native through various means can also nourish the bit native from the side.

This was a basic law of the development of the surface!

As long as there is no one powerful force to break this cyclical way, any bit can gain an essential improvement through the accumulation of long periods of time.

Only, if the bit is to grow, the beings within must step out of the bit to war, to invade, to enslave, or to trade... in a variety of ways to gain the opportunity for their native bit to grow and develop.

However, stepping out of the bit and lighting the flame of civilization meant exposing oneself from the darkness. At that time, would it be better to devour other bits one by one and thus grow and develop, or would it be better to attract even stronger predators and instead make oneself prey to others.

That... would be unknown!

Therefore, the rise of a bite-sized civilization required not only its own great strength, but also even more powerful luck. And in many cases, the latter was actually far more important than the former!

Now Grim, who was at the pinnacle of the 3rd rank, was on the threshold before stepping onto the limit of the bit. Thus, the world he could touch and understand was only more realistic and colder. And that Goblin Princess Winnisha, in the end, was just a 1st stage advanced mechanical witch.

The world of witches that she could see was actually just an appearance, and the deeper things within that determined the status of the witches' camp were impossible for her to touch.

So, the more she learned about the 'Disengagement Plan' that Winnisha was leading the planning of, the more sad Grim felt for her! It had to be admitted that Winnisha was also a fellow with great ideals and aspirations, but unfortunately... she didn't possess a great strength that was equal to her ideals and aspirations.

Thus, the greater her ideals were, the more terrifying the damage she brought to the goblin clan.

To even put it politely, she would hold her ideals and drag the entire goblin clan, and even the entire goblin throne, down with her....

And that is not to be changed by one's 'fantasy' or 'will'!
