Age of Adepts

1057. Bloodline Database

It's the blood shackles again!

Grim supported his jaw with his hand, silently sighing as he sized up Billis.

As a Bloodline Sorcerer, in the first half of his career as a sorcerer, he was able to take advantage of many advantages, whether it was the battles between sorcerers or the acquisition of sorcery knowledge. Within the same class of sorcerers, a bloodline sorcerer had both the strengths of a body refining sorcerer and an elemental sorcerer, but not their weaknesses, and their battle strength could be considered tough.

However, once their development touched the bloodline shackles, it was almost an unsolvable problem!

The essence of a Bloodline Shaman is to recreate the terrifying battle prowess of certain powerful creatures of the ancient past by constantly purifying their bloodline. However, they chose thousands of bloodline sources, but not every creature was able to enhance and elevate them indefinitely.

Most bloodline sorcerers could only strive to approach the terrifying power of the ancient demons, but were limited by the contamination and mixing of their bloodlines, making it difficult to reach the same heights as them.

If the source demon chosen by a Bloodline Sorcerer was a Class 6 creature in the ancient times, then after countless thousands of years of changes, a current Sorcerer would be considered to have a pure bloodline if he could recreate most of its power and reach Class 4 or Class 5.

There were only two ways to fully recreate the opponent's power and reach the 6th stage at the peak of their power. Either they could travel over thousands of mountains and rivers, searching for any pure blood descendants that might be left behind by the demon; or they could hide in the voodoo labs for months and years, trying to purify their bloodline factor day after day.

Other than that, there was no other way to continue progressing!

Want to change bloodlines midway? OK, one mountain looks up, and if you want to replace the original lower bloodline with a higher bloodline, then the reversal and mixing between the two bloodlines is a big problem you have to solve as soon as possible.

According to the past records of the Wizard World, replacing a bloodline once isn't a huge impact on a Wizard's origin. But from the second time onwards, the difficulty of replacing a bloodline will skyrocket, even to the extent of damaging the soul's origin.

Moreover, so far, the witches had not found a method or means of 'perfect' bloodline replacement. With every bloodline replacement, the residue of the old bloodline would severely 'contaminate' the new bloodline, thus affecting the deep fusion of the new bloodline and the host's flesh*body with the soul.

The more bloodline replacements there were, the more 'contaminants' that remained.

Once the accumulated instability factor exceeded the limit that the flesh*body could withstand, the body disintegrating and crumbling would be the final outcome.

It was because of the difficulty of bloodline replacement that so many witches used the compromise 'bloodline transformation' method. Instead of replacing the bloodline as a whole, they tinkered with it, extracting some powerful abilities from a certain bloodline and injecting them into their own original bloodline, thus creating a 'mixed blood' situation.

Such a bloodline transformation did reduce the difficulty quite a bit, but it also caused even more serious bloodline pollution!

Those guys who were interested in continuing to increase their power would never resort to such tactics, as it was much more difficult to advance in the ranks of a contaminated bloodline. Once the contamination exceeded a certain level, it would be lighter to lose the hope of advancing to the next level, and heavier to make oneself neither human nor ghost, making it difficult to communicate with other sorcerers.

Within the Crimson Family, the number of Bloodline Sorcerers was also becoming increasingly numerous.

They had yet to rise up in their current equivalency, and were still a distant distance from touching the bloodline shackles, so similar problems weren't that pressing. But those bloodline witches who had stepped into the higher ranks, such as Worm Witch Billis, and Mary, the Queen of Fresh Blood, were afraid that similar problems would occur more or less.

And if the family couldn't come up with an effective solution, for the sake of their own future and future, these high-ranking witches might mass exodus or leave the family to try to join the three major witch organizations.

After all, the problems that were difficult to solve by a single witch family might be able to find workaround solutions in the three major witch organizations.

Therefore, when Billis appeared in front of him, Grim only realized the Crimson Family's lack of materials and backward knowledge in bloodline research. If this situation was allowed to continue, as the sorcerers cultivated by the family gradually advanced to higher levels, the constraints of the bloodline shackles on the family's strength would become more and more prominent.

It was time to establish a bloodline research lab... some bloodline related projects also needed to be started immediately... the family's internal stock of bloodline materials also needed to be expanded by all means....

Briefly placating Billis, a large amount of worm blood, shells, and flesh fibers were collected from him. In the end, when Grim made the pretense of trying to find a way to solve the bloodline shackles problem for him, Billis even bit the bullet and contributed a drop of the original blood taken from within the worm mother's body.

If he wasn't really unable to solve the bloodline shackles problem himself, even killing Billis wouldn't have allowed him to obtain such materials and data. After all, he was now considered a powerful mid-ranked sorcerer. Exposing all of his secrets and data to another sorcerer's eyes was... an extremely bold and risky move, to say the least.

If Grim really had any intentions and malice towards him, with these flesh and blood materials taken from his body, it would already be enough to control his life and death.

After sending Billis away, Grim chanted and finally gave Chip a new task.

"Chip, based on the information and data that is now available, prepare to create a family bloodline database."

"Drops, mission accepted... the database is being built and refined..."

After a long, noisy data retrieval, a nascent catalog of bloodline databases was slowly projected in Grim's mind.

"Drops, the bloodline database has been created... Currently, the database contains a well-organized system of special bloodline branches including: the dragon bloodline (7%), the vampire bloodline (52%), the star beast bloodline (3%), the mechanical witch bloodline (23%), the alien insect bloodline (13%), the serpent bloodline (48%), the elf bloodline (83%), the beast bloodline (26%), the holy light bloodline (92%), and the sporeman bloodline (17%)..."

Grim slowly examined the nascent database.

Every region that he himself had traveled through, every bit he had visited, he would try to gather and organize the sorcery knowledge and magical and indigenous resources there. Unknowingly, the past nearly two hundred years had even touched and explored so many special bloodlines.

The chip also marked the completeness of the bloodline data collected and collated behind each special bloodline.

Once the completeness of a bloodline's data reached 100%, it also meant that the bloodline no longer had any secrets for Grim. As long as there were enough bloodline materials and test subjects, Grim could easily modulate or transform their bloodline.

Even in extreme cases, Grim could directly create some 'pseudo bloodline'!

Although it was a 'pseudo-bloodline', under the chip's fine and subtle terrifying manipulation, the pseudo-bloodline implant created would possess power and battle prowess that was no weaker than that of the real bloodline. The only thing is that the sorcery methods used in it might be too intense or violent, causing the bloodline implant to suffer a small loss in development potential or longevity.

But for most low-ranked sorcerers, as long as it allowed them to have stronger natural abilities and more powerful battle power, what was a little loss of life expectancy!

Grim couldn't help but chant a little as he looked at the list of bloodline catalogues.

Among all the special bloodlines, only the Holy Light bloodline and the Elf bloodline had more complete information.

According to Grim's estimation, this might have something to do with the higher Holy Knight and Elf tiers that he had killed and collected.

Like the Holy Light bloodline, Grim had killed more than double-digit rank 3 Gold Knights in one go in the Enwick Plane, and had also robbed a Holy Light graveyard with rank 4 Paladin skeletons. This meant that he had collected all the basic information for the Paladin profession's 1st-4th level.

If he had the chance to study the skeleton of the 4th rank Paladin in his storage ring a little more closely, there shouldn't be any problem in completing the Holy Light bloodline information to 100%.

As for the Elven bloodline, it was purely related to his crazy killings in the Lance Plane!

In order to help Alice obtain that semi-mythical Scepter of Prophecy, Grim and his party had killed tens of thousands of elves, and had also covered almost all of the fighting and living professions of the Elves. If it wasn't for the lack of information about the 4th level elves, I'm afraid that the completeness of the elven bloodline data would have reached a rather astonishing level.

In addition to that, the completeness of the giant snake bloodline and vampire bloodline in the bloodline database was nearly half as complete.

Grim had already killed two Giant Serpent Shamans and obtained the rare Giant Serpent Bloodline Reconstruction Potion and the Pure Blood Potion. It was entirely with their assistance that the integrity of the Giant Serpent bloodline was so high.

The vampire bloodline, on the other hand, was completely dependent on Mary.

Along the way with Mary's company, the 1st to 3rd level Vampire Witch had also studied quite a bit, yet they had only managed to get the Vampire Bloodline to pass halfway.

Now that Mary had been converted into a pure blood vampire, judging from the current situation, it shouldn't be too difficult to advance to Level 4. However, the way forward after 4th rank was at a loss. If Grim didn't help her, it would be nearly impossible for Mary to figure out a path on her own with her witch and vampire talents!

Moreover, Grim was now transformed into a bloodline sorcerer, and it was an exceptionally rare bloodline of star beasts.

The advantage of this bloodline was the singular chaotic physique, allowing him to directly absorb some of the chaotic magic energy. Moreover, in the records of the Sorcerer's World, the Star Beast was a powerful chaotic creature with a biological level of up to 8th rank.

Even if the Star Beast bloodline that Grim fused with was a little lesser, there would still be no problem for him to be free of bloodline shackles before the 7th level.

So, Grim was now considered to have both the Bloodline Sorcerer and Elemental Sorcerer routes.

The Bloodline Sorcerer would grant him a strong body and powerful bloodline abilities, while the Elemental Sorcerer would give him unparalleled terrifying elemental power.

Either of these two routes would be worthy of a sorcerer's dedication to polishing and cultivating. But now that Grim wanted to have both, he would need to spend at least twice as much rare resources and knowledge reserves on himself as a sorcerer of the same rank.

Such a huge consumption of resources and difficulty in gathering knowledge was already enough to give most of the witches a headache!
