Age of Adepts

Chapter 1063 - The Man Behind the Curtain

Time stood still for an instant!

The mechanical heart that jumped in Winnisha's chest was pulsing and pumping out over the limit with frantic energy. The violent and ferocious sorcerous energy was wildly hoarded in the cold and rigid metal body, reaching the extreme threshold of self-destruction almost instantly.

The pupils of Winnisha's eyes were filled with an unconcealed hatred and indulgent madness.

Although the plan she had worked so hard to plan for over forty years was shattered, if she could take the wretched woman in front of her, she might be able to make the demonically powerful evil wizard feel a hint of regret for his rash invasion of the Goblin Plane.

It wouldn't take much, it couldn't be too much, but as long as she could make that evil devilish man feel 'a hint' of regret, Winnisha would be satisfied!

Unfortunately, while the crazy light was still shining in her pupils, outside of her spiritual consciousness perception, the entire world, this heaven and earth suddenly 'stood still' for a moment.

Actually, the world did not stand still, nor did the heavens and earth stop functioning.

And what really produced change was the speed of 'that damned woman'!

When one's speed steeply increases ten or a hundred times, then I'm afraid that in her vision, everything around her is slow and stagnant.

When the Level 3 Mechanical Heart in Winnisha's chest suddenly went berserk and was about to explode, Mary, the Blood Queen, who was standing ten paces away from her, also suddenly entered a state of hypersensitivity.

In the hypersensitive state, everything around her was suddenly silent and stagnant, and everyone and everything within her vision was flowing in an extremely slow and distorted form and time dimension. In this state, the air, which used to be inoffensive, became sticky and stagnant, causing people to consume more energy when walking in it.

The only one who could move in the entire 'still world' was probably Mary.

Like a beautiful woman walking leisurely, she walked slowly to Winnisha with elegant and leisurely steps, leaned down and looked at the other party's face which was distorted and deformed by anger, and then tapped the chest which was already red hot and penetrating with a dazzling red mane, as if it was loaded with a small sun that was about to explode, before a faint smile appeared on her face.

In the next second, a small, delicate dagger suddenly appeared in Mary's hand, and with a swift motion that was indistinguishable to the naked eye, she quickly stabbed into the tiny, inscrutable crevices of Winnisha's metal body.

The golden dagger was flying.

As if an elegant pianist was playing a beautiful piece of music, in less than two fingertips, Mary effortlessly cut and dismantled all the metal components and connecting hubs below Winnisha's neck, and used the golden dagger to gently pick out the wildly pulsating mechanical heart.

It was only at this point that Marie Fang voluntarily withdrew from her hypersensitive state.

Thus, in the almost imperceptible mental perception of the crowd, Mary suddenly appeared in front of Winnisha like a deity, grasping her head with one hand and picking out a strange metal heart with the dagger with the other. Winnisha's metal body, however, crackled and scattered like a pile of sand that had lost its support.

"...Bar! ......."

Winnisha didn't seem to perceive anything unusual around her, Jude was roaring madly. But with the long sound of the last 'bar' word dragging on for so long, the wild self-destruct in the midst of waiting was delayed, Winnisha couldn't help but shut her mouth and look around in horror.

Only then, to her horror, did she realize that her body had been scattered into an unrecognizable mass of metal parts. And she was now left with a lone head held up in the air by the others.

No, no, no, apart from the head, she also had a heart left, a mechanical heart with 3rd stage energy, which was also being gently played with by the other party in her hand.

As for self-destructing, losing the support of her body and the control of her consciousness, this mechanical heart that had just arrived but a little over a year ago, could not be remotely controlled with the degree of integration between Winnisha and it. So, the mechanical heart that had almost reached its self-destruct threshold, under Mary's almost playful slapping and foot-softening ravaging, the energy inside was rapidly leaking out, like a tire with its valve pulled out, visibly shriveled and withered.

"How many steps have you taken on your wizard's path, little one? With your strength, what kind of tricks do you want to play in front of a high ranked sorcerer? Well, remember, among witches, strength is all that really matters. If I don't want you to die, you'll never die!" After holding Winnisha's head in front of her eyes and taunting her severely, Mary then tossed it far away to the wind witch, Desera.

"This little girl is in your hands, remember to torture everything she knows."

Wind Witch Desera picked up Winnisha's only remaining mechanical head with a hideous and horrifying smile on her face, even as she said, "Don't worry, Lord Mary, I'll squeeze everything out of her brain!"

This time the goblin rebellion had caused too much damage to Mechanical City and had swept away the face of his resident wizard. Therefore, the mastermind behind it fell into his hands, so how could he spare her lightly.

Seriously speaking, this goblin rebellion was actually more like a farce.

With the strength of the goblin clan, they were incapable of resisting or getting out of the Crimson Family's enslavement. Therefore, their plan to secede was doomed to fail and would only attract the wrath and suppression of the family hierarchy.

And the reason why the situation in front of them was so unpleasant, it had to be said that it also contained a part of the responsibility of the hidden 'black hand'. As for who the hidden 'black hand' was, the several people present knew all too well, but they just couldn't come up with the mountain of hard evidence of the other party's involvement.

Losing Winnisha and running away from those goblin dignitaries, the rebel-organized Magic Armament Battlegroup was almost instantly defeated by the Crimson Family's sorcerer troops and routed.

By now, the battle situation had become so obvious that the 'neutral faction' that had been turtled inside the Mechanical City could not hold back, and finally came out to maintain order and attack the rebels.

For a while, the mechanical city was filled with fires of war, and the battle demons belonging to both sides were fighting to the death in various regions.

And while this was going on, Mary led the vampire forces to retake the central witch tower.

A few moments later, a huge projection of a woman appeared in the sky above Mechanical City, and it was Mary with a sweet smile on her face.

"Citizens of Mechanic City, due to some well known reasons, Mechanic City will soon be under a short curfew and military control. As of immediately, guys who continue to stay on the streets will become our enemies and will be attacked by the Witch Guard. All goblins will be required to stay within their dwellings and expel any suspicious outsiders until the insurgents have been thoroughly cleared. If they refuse to carry out this order, they will also be considered accomplices of the insurgents and will be attacked by the Sorcerer's Guard..."

With Mary's shouts and deterrents, the chaotic battle in the streets quickly died down, and all the goblins mounted their land birds and made their way desperately to their dwellings. And in doing so, the outsiders that were in the mix undoubtedly became extremely conspicuous.

More than thirty vampire shamans with flapping bat wings floating above the mechanical city saw how they didn't know that they were their targets, and one by one, they sip and whistle and dive down.

A new battle soon erupted!

And within the central witch tower of Mechanical City, Mary was also silently waiting for news of the Wind Witch Desera.

Soon, Desera walked in with a dignified look along with the goblin Cappy.

"How is it, what kind of harvest?" Mary asked.

"Lord Mary, although there's no direct evidence, the memory fragments extracted from Winnisha's soul show that that fellow was indeed involved in this goblin rebellion. The Magic Armor IIs that appeared in large numbers in the rebellion were reinforcements sent by that guy!" Desera said through gritted teeth.

"And we have captured a few more leaders of the goblin rebels, and found them all showing signs of being invaded by psychic powers..." added the goblin Cappy as well.

Mary's slender fingers tapped the tabletop, narrowing her scarlet blood pupils in serious thought, and finally spoke up.

"Purpose? Who can tell, the purpose of it? To overthrow the Crimson with these unworthy goblin rebels? I don't think that guy should be so retarded! So what the hell was it trying so hard to hang out with these goblin rebels? Isn't it afraid of annoying Grim and settling the general score with it?"

"My lord..." hesitated Desera, finally telling the truth, "I just took an inventory, and the Central Witch Tower's other losses weren't heavy, but... ...But the sixty tons of Quillas Alloy in stock... has gone missing!"

Mary's fingers were abruptly frozen in mid-air.

As a true senior member of the Crimson Family, she knew very well in her heart that these Quillas alloys were the core resources for the family to build a magical furnace. And each magical furnace meant a floating giant ship or a flock of high-grade magic weapons.

And their significance to the Crimson Family was undoubtedly enormous!

"Good, good... it seems that guy is determined to tease the family's psychological bottom line. Well, great, I'll see how far it wants to take things!"

Under the Vampire Sorcerer's full suppression, the rebellious elements in Mechanical City were quickly purged.

Along with that, the Wind Witch Desera also took the opportunity to purge a number of stubborn and old guard elements in the goblin camp, once again firmly taking control of the entire Mechanical City's powerful magical weapon force.

Mary, on the other hand, left Thoros and the vampire forces behind in Mechanic City, temporarily holding down the fort for Desera. As for herself, she turned around and returned to the Wizarding World and promptly found Grim in the Throne of Fire.

How the two sides exchanged and communicated with each other, outsiders naturally did not know.

But after Mary, in a rage, broke the news to Grim, she was never heard from again like a stone sunk into the sea.

After leaving the Flame Throne, Mary returned to the Crimson Family's new headquarters in the Witch Tower, never to mention this matter again. Grim, on the other hand, remained hidden deep inside the Flame Throne, not moving an inch.

The entire family cleaned up the rebellion and never followed up, seemingly uninterested in pursuing the mastermind behind the rebellion.

Thus, time also passed by day by day....
