Age of Adepts

Chapter 1069 - The Mighty Grim

These battle demons were all of no more than 1st rank.

From the moment they stepped into the Light Film, their surfaces were burning, and their shells were softening and melting as they burned red and shiny.

However, the magic iron alloy branded on their bodies also gave them a certain degree of elemental resistance. Coupled with their twenty centimeter thick metal shells, even if they could not withstand the burning flames of the burning field, they could still hold on a little longer than flesh and blood creatures.

And they relied on this time difference to quickly approach Grim and frantically weave their metal projectiles and ray waterfalls together, flooding his body.

Grim's pace still didn't stop.

As he moved forward leisurely, he stretched out a finger and quickly drew one flame rune after another in the air. And each flame rune appeared and then quickly disappeared before transforming into a thick and dense lava shield that lingered on Grim's side.

The violent metal curtain struck the lava shield, knocking it to the ground and spilling lava.

A lava shield that was half a meter thick, two meters high, and one meter wide didn't even last seven seconds before it quickly crumbled under the concentrated fire of the many battle magical weapons. However, no matter how fierce the attacks of the battle demons were, they weren't as easy and swift as Grim moving his fingers.

So, even though the battle demons were attacking wildly despite their already somewhat softened and molten bodies, they still couldn't match Grim's speed in replenishing their lava shields.

Instead, under the waterfall-like madness of the fire gathering, the lava shields around Grim's body actually grew more and more. It was so densely lingering that it was about to completely obscure his figure.

After simply blocking the attacks of the battle demons, Grim was not one to take a beating and not fight back.

The flame rune he drew with his outstretched hand changed, quickly outlining an unusually grand door of flame in front of him. And as a flame rune merged into it, the door of flames burst open, and out of it sprang densely packed flame creatures.

The current Grim was at any rate a 4th rank sorcerer, and the flame sorcery he cast was imbued with a hint of rule power. So this batch of flame creatures summoned from the distant fire elemental plane was surprisingly the vast majority of them were 1st stage creatures, and there were some rare 2nd stage small boss level monsters mixed in there as well.

Elite Fire Elementals, Fire Giants, Burning Body Flame Spirits, Lava Dogs, Lava Giants, Fire Crows, Blazing Fire Monsters....

Formidable and strange flame creatures quickly emerged and quickly clashed with those battle demons.

The two sides fiercely fought right on top of this not-so-spacious metal trestle bridge.

And after doing so, Grim smiled slightly and appeared on top of another metal stack bridge at the end of his line of sight with a slight flicker of his body.

On that, it was being densely filled with hundreds of battle fiends, firing wildly at the group of flaming creatures from a distance of over a hundred meters.

With a sudden eruption of a ring of flames, Grim appeared in the center of the Demonic Armament battle group.

The Ring of Flame that swiftly swept through this Demonic Armament battle group possessed two strange properties, Burst and Impact, and in an instant, it blew nearly half of the Demonic Armaments out of the sky, turning them into a flame-covered meteor that fell down the trestle bridge.

It was at least three hundred meters off the ground.

With their heavy bodies, falling to the ground could be declared a complete scrap.

And the magic weapons that had managed to not get blown up didn't have a good time either.

Grim's body was still lingering with a dense lava shield around it, being struck by the rapidly coiling lava boulders, and then being repeatedly washed against the metal body by the streams of hot flames ejected from it. These poor battle demons only fired for five seconds before one by one, like a candle thrown into an oven, softly beaching down.

The burning field was impenetrable.

Without the protection of their magical shields, their metal bodies might be indestructible, but their internal rune and energy systems were unable to withstand the burning of the violent flames. When all the wiring and control centers softened and were damaged, they lost their ability to fight.

Grim just kept jumping over and over again.

Each time, he appeared in the midst of a large number of Demonic Armament Warriors, and then used his terrifying flame power to quickly turn them into a pile of scrap metal.

These battle demonic weapons that had helped the Crimson Family conquer countless enemies, when their opponent was a super terrifying fire witch, they also lost their past sharpness and bravery and became a group of poor 'lambs' that were slaughtered miserably.

The disparity in strength between the two sides was so great that it was so large that it couldn't be compensated by numbers or space!

And half an hour later, Grim stepped onto the last section of the metal trestle bridge.

At the end of the trestle bridge was a huge metal platform, on which were neatly arranged a number of five hundred strange battle demonic weapons. The split-brain Grimm was hiding behind them, and was using a chain of energy light to link himself to these demonic weapons.

Grim slowly stopped and began to seriously examine these strange magic weapons in front of him.

The reason why they were bizarre was because these magic weapons had an almost transparent energy mask lingering on their bodies, protecting them completely and utterly. These light masks, on the other hand, possessed bizarre magical energy properties that were surprisingly able to isolate Grim's spirit scans and chip detection.

And this was an extremely rare occurrence!

If this batch of magic weapons couldn't be resolved quickly, then even with Grim's strength, it wouldn't be that easy to take care of the split-brain Grue who only had advanced strength at the 2nd stage.

After all, a hard confrontation with metal magic weapons that numbered up to five hundred was something that a wizard would frown upon.

Moreover, if the chip detection was correct, the five hundred metal magic weapons in front of us were probably all magic weapon second generation machines that had undergone multiple enhancements. In other words, they were a bunch of 2nd-tier magic weapons!

If such a batch of force was handed over to Grim, I'm afraid that the Crimson Family would immediately have an additional strong card to play. Unfortunately, since the ill-informed split-brain Grim had chosen to confront himself, the probability of this card being retained was infinitely close to zero.

Thus, at this moment, as Grim looked distantly at the split-brain Grue hiding behind the hordes of magic weapons, his gaze took on a cold killing intent for the first time!

The previous battles had always been fought with the mindset of a game and testing his strength.

But at this moment, he really wanted to kill 'someone'!

Behind the metal platform was the steel hall where the 3rd level brain monster Ghazluvi was hiding.

At this moment, it was silent inside, seemingly unaware of what was happening outside.

The tightly closed metal door had a flow of energy luster on it, and was also densely covered with a strange layer of spiritual light, making it impossible for Grim's spiritual perception to penetrate it.

After all, cowards are cowards!

That Gazruvi himself didn't dare to fight on the battlefield himself, so he sent up this batch of magic weapons and split-brain grue. If the Split Brain Grue was able to stop Grim, it would naturally sit back and become the biggest winner, completely freeing itself from the shackles of the Crimson Family and gaining true freedom from then on.

But if the split-brain Guru failed in battle, Grim really had some doubts whether that Ghazluvi had the determination and courage to face himself personally or not. Brain monsters were creatures that might have superior intelligence and knowledge, but they had nothing to do with courage.

And they were also one of the 'cowardly' creatures most likely to bow or submit to the strong!

Yes, cowardice, that was the label that Grim had been putting on the brain monster Ghazruvi all along, deep inside.

If it wasn't cowardly, how could it be threatened by Grim and bow down to a 2nd level sorcerer? If it wasn't cowardly, how could it only have the courage to engage in backstabbing petty schemes that were unorthodox, but never dare to tear Grim apart? If it wasn't cowardly, how could it have given up the powerful combination of 3rd order brain monster + 500 2nd generation magic weapon and instead opted to let the 2nd order advanced split-brain Gru to rule them?

So, as he looked at the sternly awaiting Demon Armour Battlegroup, the doddering split-brain Gru, and the tightly closed door behind them, Grim lamented and smiled, his trademark berserk flames finally rising up.

The battle was intense and boring!

The combination of 2nd stage split-brain + 500 2nd stage magic weapons was a formidable enough force for the vast majority of witches. Moreover, with the energy light chain link of the Split Brain Grue, these magic weapons had almost inexhaustible magic energy and could also hold up the magic shield for a long time.

With the magical energy shield, it became extremely difficult for Grim to quickly finish them off.

Often times, even Grim had to use some strange means to fight them in close combat.

And Combat Magic Weapons would be afraid of a head-on fight? To put it bluntly, the reason they were built was to attack, to fight hard, to storm the enemy....

Unfortunately, they possessed great strength, but lacked a leader of sufficient weight.

Grim changed his tactics even after trying several times to fail to break through the Magic Armament's defenses.

Blocking the trestle bridge with a huge door of flame, he entangled the magic weapons with a steady stream of flaming creatures. Grim, on the other hand, was standing on top of the trestle bridge, gazing at the split-brain Grue from a distance of five hundred meters.

As his eyes sorcerous power flowed, Fractal Brain Grue, who was far from being protected by a heavy magic weapon, screamed in alarm, and the tall metal body outside his body 'spontaneously combusted' without a sound.

If it wasn't for the excessive amount of magical alloy used to build this metal body, it was afraid that if it wasn't for the excessive amount of magical alloy used to build this metal body, its body would have been severely damaged just by this.

Fractal Brain Gru screamed in fright, and its huge and surging mind abilities turned into a strange wave that swept across its body, intending to extinguish this strange flame.

Unfortunately, its 2nd stage mind power was clearly unable to compete with Grim's 4th stage flame power, and the flames around its body not only didn't extinguish, but grew larger and larger, burning more and more fiercely.

In the blink of an eye, the split-brain grue was engulfed by the sudden and violent flames that sprang up!
