Age of Adepts

Chapter 1077 - Star Realm Hobo

The two sides of the battle, one side was the predominantly human sorcerers, the other side was the astral plane nomads.

They were over 3 meters tall, with humanoid bodies, indigo-colored skin, covered with fancy magical patterns of indecipherable meanings, and their arms protruding a meter-long strange blade of light.

These strange blades of light can be used for attack or defense.

When attacking, they were so sharp that ordinary sorcerer's shields could not withstand several slashes from them. When defending, these light blades could also quickly transform into light shields, covering most of their bodies.

When the sorceries hit the light shields, most of them refracted, while the smaller ones scattered, and there were only a handful of attacks that could truly threaten them.

And the number of these astral plane hobbits amounted to 11 people, with a mix of ranks, half of each of the 2 and 3 ranks. On the other hand, there were only 5 people on the Sorcerer's side, 2 3rd rank and 3 2nd rank, so they were not superior in terms of numbers and strength.

But the good thing was that the Sorcerer squad had a reasonable mix of occupations and their sorcery abilities were highly targeted.

In particular, the 3rd rank plant-based sorcerer summoned a large area of magic vines in one breath, and used the levitating boulder as a foundation to establish a small defensive line, which was able to withstand the attacks of a large number of star hobbits.

Although the overall strength of the astral nomads was above the witch squad, but once they penetrated too deeply and were entangled in the strange magic vines rooted in the rocks, and then were set on fire by a few witches, it would be difficult for even those 3rd stage astral nomads to retreat.

So, with the fight cringing, only then did they give the witch squad a chance to wait for the arrival of Grim, a strong reinforcement.

After all, this was the territory of the human sorcerers, if they had killed these sorcerers and then fled, it would have been difficult for the human sorcerers to find them in the vast starry sea.

But now with the arrival of Grim, the whole battle was instantly flipped.

A gray-robed man with a golden wooden bow on his back in the middle of the group of wizards was delighted at the sight and shouted loudly, "Let's work harder...leave them all behind!"

With that said, he himself put away the wand for defense, grabbed the wooden bow, and swished and shot a few arrows at the Star Realm Hobbits who wanted to escape.

Strangely enough, the wooden bow in his hand and the wooden arrows he shot seemed ordinary, without any patterned magical decorations at all, but they were accurate with every shot. Even if the wooden arrows were blocked by the opponent's light shield, they would strangely pass through and hit the opponent's body as usual.

And all of the Star Realm Hobbits hit by the arrows, regardless of whether they were 2nd or 3rd rank, would suffer a 1-3 second trance, losing the best time to escape.

As for the other wizards, they also changed their sorcery and began to try to leave behind more enemies with their wide range of imprisoning sorcery.

Grim stood frozen in the void, his gaze quickly sweeping over the bodies of these witches as he tsked at their refinement and strength, condensing a burning ball of fire as he whooshed wildly at the Star Realm Hobbits who were fleeing in panic.

These Star Realm Vagabonds were strong in attack and defense as they retreated in front of the Sorcerer Squad, but they had mastered the four types of flame spells. However, in front of Grim, who had mastered the four flame laws, they were as fragile as paper men.

The fireballs fired by Grim appear to be nothing strange, but they were unprecedentedly terrifying. Even for those Level 3 opponents, a single fireball could quickly transform its form and ignite the opponent into a sky-high torch.

It was as if... it was as if the energy in the opponent's body was directly ignited by Grim and burned itself to the ground.

A Rank 2 Star Citizen that looked like a blue ape was entangled in the lower half of his body by a cluster of frightening magic vine tendrils that sprang wildly, and was desperately slashing with his light blade when a large fireball flew across the sky and hit it, quickly setting its entire body on fire.

The other party only hissed and shouted twice before it was incinerated in the bursting flames, incinerated into ashes, and lost in form and spirit.

Seeing the tribe he had brought with him was killed by the 4th rank sorcerer at one point, a 3rd rank star citizen roared, stepped on the void, left shield, right blade, broke through several bursting fireballs one after another, and pounced straight at Grim.

Grim didn't move a muscle, his right hand continued to draw a flame rune, condensing into a violent fireball to hit the fleeing starfolk. His black pupils, on the other hand, gazed silently at the 3rd Order Starfolk hiding behind the transparent light shield.

The fireballs that had been crushed by the 3rd Order Star Citizen had just scattered into fire debris, but before they could blend into the void, they condensed again under the guidance of a strange force, wrapping the other party inside.

The 3rd Order Starman was fiercely startled, then frantically dodged and dodged, but was never able to get rid of the dark red scent that lingered on his side. When the fire element coalesced to a threshold again, a muffled poof sound was heard, and the entire 3rd Order Starfolk was ignited.

It was reasonable to say that with the magic resistance of the Star Realm Hobbits, even an ordinary tide of magic would be able to travel freely without suffering half damage. But in the strange flame that burst into flames, it was burned to a miserable crisp on the outside and inside.

It was as if the moment the flames ignited, its magic resistance, which it was proud of, suddenly disappeared, and its sharkskin skin was no longer able to protect it.

The life of a rank 3 Star Citizen was tough and long enough, even though the flame of the law had ignited the magical energy outside of its body, it still struggled to pounce on Grim with its light blade held high.

Grim's black pupils were fierce.

His right hand finally stopped inspiring the Berserk Fire Ball and instead gave the 3rd rank Star Citizen a fierce grip in the air.

As the Berserk Fire element quickly gathered, a huge flame hand appeared out of nowhere, grabbed the 3rd rank Star Citizen and quickly shrank. After holding on for 5 seconds, he finally couldn't bear the burns of the internal and external flames, and spewed out a horrible stream of flames several meters long, and his entire body began to shrivel and scorch.

A moment later, the battlefield finally calmed down.

Only three of the eleven Star Hobbits escaped, the rest were either captured or turned into ash and were left behind forever.

The gray-robed man with the wooden bow also hurriedly flew over and bowed at Grim.

"It's Lord Grim, isn't it! I have received a summons from Lord Martin earlier, and I am extremely grateful for your timely assistance."

The remaining four witches flew over one after another after briefly cleaning the battlefield, and 1 female and 3 male, who were also gazing enviously at Grim who was standing in the void, bowed in greeting.

"The stuff has arrived, right? If we get there, I'll take you back with me..." inquired Grim bluntly.

"I'm afraid we'll have to wait a little longer..." the grey-robed man smiled awkwardly, "We were surrounded by that group of Star Hobbits in the middle of gathering after we found those Isara Seeds here, and the gathering isn't all done yet. "

"Then do it quickly, and I'll protect you for a little while longer..."

"Yes!"

With a 4th rank wizard backing them up, the witch team was able to let go of their big guns.

The plant-based wizard flew back to the hovering boulder and got inside a dark hole to collect the seeds of Isara that had strayed here for some unknown reason. The rest of the wizards were either on guard duty or flew around gathering up the bodies of the dead astral hobbits and began skinning them.

Grim watched for a while, and was curious enough to take a still intact starbender corpse over and carefully scan it with a chip up close.

It had to be said that although these Star Nomads were humanoid in appearance, their body structure and internal organs had a very different evolutionary path from humans. There were no respiratory organs, no excretion organs, and the strangely shaped 'stomach' in their bodies seemed to be able to digest everything.

From flora and fauna, down to dirt and sand, even hard metal ores, they could grind and crush them, absorbing the beneficial components inside and then regurgitating the digestive residue.

Their skeletons are not as dense and tough as those of the creatures inside the surface, but are like a honeycomb with tiny air bubbles and pouch cavities inside. Each tiny bubble and pouch cavity is a tiny storage organ that can store and release those violent magical energies.

And near their arms and wrists, there was a strange organ that could convert the magic power in their bodies into a strange light element. As for the form of the light element, it relied on the Star Citizen's spiritual power to shape it.

After the chip's deep scan, this kind of star realm nomad no longer possessed any secrets in front of Grim. According to the chip's estimation, the most valuable part of each astral bard was this parasitic organ on their wrist and their skin.

After the parasitic organs were removed and taken back for study, they might be able to figure out the principles of the sorcery produced by that light element. And their skin possessed a good amount of anti-magic properties, transforming it into anti-magic leather armor was still of some value.

The anti-magic skin armor was of little use to Grim, instead it was this parasitic organ that caught his interest. Casually chopping off the arm of a Star Citizen and stowing it away in a magical storage box, it was only then that the rest of the body was thrown back to the wizards.

It was a full 3 hours' flight away from Camp Esoda, and was actually still considered the core of the Eye of the Storm, with a distant space of tens of thousands of miles from the outer storm zone.

It was reasonable to say that in order to obtain some goodies, this team of witches should go to the edge of the storm zone.

But with their strength, once they got too close to the Storm Zone, it would be hard for them to save themselves if something changed. Therefore, they could only search for scavenging at the edge of the camp in this manner in order to find some exotic items that had unexpectedly intruded into the core area.

Ordinary resources like the Isara Seed certainly couldn't make them rich, but if their luck exploded and they found something like Star Sand, Star Core, Source Quality Items or Void Stones. It would be enough to allow these 2nd and 3rd ranked witches to return to the Wizard World at their leisure and enjoy a hundred or two hundred years of a generous life.

It was much simpler and faster than toiling hard as a resident wizard within the bit and performing family missions!

After all, this was the territory of human sorcerers, and the otherworldly existences that were able to get through the Void Storm to reach here were more or less concerned about those great human sorcerers and wouldn't be too unscrupulous. Only a wandering star hobo like the Star Hobo would be able to scurry around like locusts and do everything without any inhibitions.
