Age of Adepts

Chapter 1082 - The Way Forward

As the mission period approached, Grim was coming into contact with more people and more information.

The fighting on the front lines began to intensify with each passing day.

The several camps that were each fighting for their own were engaged in a series of bloody battles with the Grand Aurors in front of the Morian Bit Barrier.

It was said that the battles there covered the sky, the bits of the battlefield there were bleeding, and the world there was on the verge of collapse....

And among all the invaders, the power of the Sorcerer's camp was undoubtedly among the lower ranked ones.

Thus, when the Calamity Lords forcefully knocked down the Great Orbital Towers of the Great Orbital Masters with their unparalleled strength, tearing a huge opening in the bit barrier, tidal waves of Calamity Creatures and Star Beasts poured into it, rushing madly towards the huge floating city that was on strict alert.

At the same moment, a huge light mask large enough to cover the entire city rose above the floating city, keeping the Calamity creatures and star beasts out. The arcane towers and protective towers that stood everywhere in the forest even more radiantly* emitted a dazzling arcane light that unceasingly washed over the enemy's huge and hideous body.

For a time, the entire sky was filled with corpses like rain, blood like waterfalls, and everywhere was a terrifying scene of magical tides shocking and shaking!

However, most of the ones that died on the battlefield were only the middle and low level Calamity creatures that the Calamity Lords had forcefully catalyzed, and the Calamity Lords would not feel the slightest bit sorry for their losses. On the contrary, taking advantage of the void where the Floating City was entangled in a mass of Calamity creatures, the Calamity Lords even more swiftly and violently impacted the Great Orbital Towers of the Great Orbital Masters.

With the massive bodies of these Calamity Lords that were easily thousands of meters in length, even without the obstruction of the Great Orbs, it would be difficult for them to squeeze into the Morian Plane. So, they did their best to tear at the bit-walls of the Morian world, allowing more of their underlings to rush into it to harvest life and souls.

And they lay on their stomachs in the breach of the bitumen barrier, trying their best to block the healing of the bitumen barrier while trying their best to absorb the pale golden soul vapors that were floating in sheets.

According to the basic laws of the bit plane, the souls of all creatures that died within the bit plane would re-integrate into the Soul Mother River, and then in a cycle, new bit plane creatures would be born.

However, at the moment the Calamity Lords were like a parasite lying on top of the Morionian Plane, breaking the balance of the system within the Plane and desperately absorbing the souls of the one Olympians and Plane natives who had died in battle on the sands.

The Morian Plane, which had lost a large number of Plane beings, was also like an aging machine that was becoming increasingly inoperative without soul lubrication.

Within the Arcane Empire, two Arcane Emperors (8th rank), seven Great Arcane Masters (7th rank), ninety-eight Arcane Masters (5th-6th rank), and thousands of Arcane Scholars (1st-4th rank) were driving an Arcane Tower capable of flying high in the sky, driving the Floating City high above the skies, rushing to the broken bit barrier! The place.

And in the process, they fought against the Calamity creatures and Star Beasts that had rushed into the interior of the bit, turning almost every square mile of land into a terrifying battlefield of living creatures.

It was due to the recklessness of the Calamity Lords that they had also held back nearly 70% of the Austrian Empire's massive defensive forces. The remaining few invading forces could not help but pick up the pace of their attacks, and even began to secretly organize small groups of elite warriors to break into the Morian Plane and seize the resources, knowledge, and treasures that had been coveted by them for a long time in advance.

............

This was located on top of a high cliff on the western coast of the Morian Plane.

Above the sky, a black hole a hundred meters square was slowly healing, while below the hole, sixteen shadowy and illusory figures were struggling to escape from the shackles of the spatial barrier sooner.

"Go! Follow the tasks assigned to you beforehand, and each of you do your part. On the day of your successful return, I will give you the reward you deserve!"

With an unusually grand and sensual voice echoing through the heavens and earth, the sixteen sorcerers finally broke through the bit barrier, allowing their bodies to manifest themselves a little bit inside the Morionian Plane.

Grim was mixed among these sixteen witches, and finally stabilized himself after enduring the intense dizziness in his head and the overwhelming amount of bit-reflexes that were coming in.

By the time he stood up on top of a boulder with his hand on his forehead, five of his fifteen companions had already recovered to normal like him and began to stand up and take stock of this completely unfamiliar bitworld.

The first few who recovered first took a glance at each other, and couldn't help but feel secretly amazed by each other's strength. When their eyes landed on the figures lying or sitting on the ground, their eyes were filled with contempt.

In particular, when the two-headed wizard Mangus couldn't withstand the huge backlash of the bit and spurted out a mouthful of blood, the crowd even laughed lightly in an unkind manner.

Grim extended his right hand, and the Fire Coral Wand automatically jumped out of the Elder's Ring and into his hand.

With a stroke of his wand, an aura of flames rose from the sky and wrapped around the two-headed wizard who looked a bit disturbed.

With the flame power temporarily isolating the suppression of the bits of consciousness, the two-headed sorcerer immediately got rid of his dizzy state, and quickly pulled out a bottle of medicine from his bosom and poured it into his mouth.

And with the aid of the medicine, he was finally able to resist the difficult bit plane suppression.

"Thanks!" Mangus, who had taken a breath of relief, nodded to Grim with a hard mouthful.

"We're partners, as we should be..." laughed Grim lightly.

There were a total of sixteen 4th rank witches who had crossed over this time, and twelve of them were the main focus of this trip's mission, divided into one or two teams, taking on different tasks of their own. Grim and the other four were the third team, responsible for creating mass killings in order to cover those two elite teams.

As for what the objective of Teams One and Two's mission was, they had no idea at all!

As soon as the two sides were successfully traversed due to their different strengths and mission goals, the two teams of leading witches gathered together and took out their maps and started muttering and discussing.

While Grim, the two-headed witch, the Holly witch, and a cold-looking dark witch were successfully isolated to one side, watching the elite witches take out their wands and crystals and start inspecting the nearby spatial environment, they had no idea what they and the others should do.

One of the two leading witches who were bowing their heads and deliberating, swept their eyes over to Grim and the other four, and pointed out their fingers at Grim, saying, "Hey, you... you're the one, come over here and deliberate on your squad's course of action!"

Although the other party was rude and arrogant, he raised his hands and feet with a powerful aura that dared not be questioned.

Grim's brows furrowed slightly, but he did not speak out against it, but walked over silently.

"According to the information detected so far, our current location is here..." the leading wizard reached out and tapped on the three-dimensional embossed map on the sorcery scroll, leaving behind a small red dot.

Grim swept his gaze over it, blue mane glinting in his eyes, and quickly etched the entire bitmap into his mind.

As a whole, this Morian bit could be divided into six medium-sized bit continents, while the continents were filled with huge oceans between them. Their current location, however, was on the west coast of a continent called Kentos, with the Gem Sea at their backs and the vast territory of the Austrian Empire in front of them.

"You and your companions are on a cover mission, so your route must be able to create a huge attack. Once you leave later, just follow this route, attacking more of the Austrian Empire's cities and Austrian towers along the way. Of course, if there's a chance, this floating city here will be handed over to you guys to deal with along with it!"

With the gentle strokes of the lead wizard's fingers, a striking red line penetrated straight through the Kantos Continent, ending on the other side of the continent.

Grim hesitated for a moment, but still lowered his body and asked in a low voice, "This lord, I wonder where the approximate location of those Calamity creatures that broke into the interior of the bit is currently?"

The lead wizard, a gruff-looking alchemist with a huge scar on his right cheek, had a good look up at Grim and finally grinned grimly.

"Seeing as you're one of the strongest of them all, I'll tell you this! Here..."

Grim looked at a huge circle that the other party had casually circled on the map, and his face changed slightly.

Although the attack route they had been given didn't coincide with the giant red circle, the closest point was only 3000 kilometers away. This distance might be a heavenly barrier for ordinary people, but for those unruly Calamity creatures or star beasts, it would only take half a day to rush over.

This also meant that their advance route would likely encounter those ferocious competitors halfway.

Both sides rushed into the Morian Plane for those treasured resources, treasures, and arcane knowledge of the Arcane Empire. Of course, it was more likely that the other side would just come for the bit origin and crazy killing.

In such a situation, it would be almost a delusion for the two sides to bump into each other and politely pass each other by, and they wouldn't be able to get out of it without going through a killing spree!

Grim's face changed a few times, but finally he nodded silently.

Within the Sorcerer's camp, a miscellaneous 4th rank like them was the least valued.

If there was an argument between the two sides, the bad luck would only be them, not the other side.

Just as the dozen or so witches had just finished discussing their route forward, a mountainous beast roared suddenly from not far away.

Led by a frenzied battle rhino, hundreds of jungle beasts rushed out of the forest and pounced towards the witches' location. As Grim looked up, he could see from afar that they were all red-eyed and foaming at the mouth in a frenzy of madness.

"Hmph, this is the final madness of the Bit Consciousness... to drive a group of beasts whose strength is no more than 1st or 2nd rank to run here to die. Come on, kill them all, then we'll hurry as quickly as possible..."

In the next moment, an overwhelming wave of sorcery overwhelmed this group of beast allies!
