Age of Adepts

Chapter 1097 - Gopher Hunting

Grim looked around at the vast dark power that was overwhelming the sky.

He knew in his heart that it wasn't the power of the opposite dark witch herself.

The opponent was able to transform this space into a Shadow-like realm all by herself, which was unimaginable without the assistance of the Witch Tower. Fighting here, the Dark Sorceress would undoubtedly enjoy a great increase in her battle power.

However, the outcome of the battle would still be determined by the basic strength of both sides, as well as their fighting techniques and methods.

And in this regard, the Dark Sorceress still held a great individual advantage!

500 long and short years of fighting had been enough for her to accumulate a wealth of killing experience that novice rookies would never be able to achieve. These, however, were the most fundamental reasons why she had maintained her proud position.

As the Dark Sorceress Shani stepped on the void towards Grim, her body, her heartbeat, and her breathing all resonated strongly with this Class Shadow Realm.

At this moment, her body and consciousness had completely disappeared, completely merging into the endless darkness that was overwhelming the sky.

"Damn it, there really isn't a single Class 4 witch that is easy to deal with!"

Grim spat madly in his heart as he detonated the peripheral flame tentacles without hesitation.

As the wild flame martyrdom blasted the incoming shadow creatures apart, the subsequent flame shockwave was like a raging wave pushing back the dark forces coming from all directions.

And through the rushing of the flame shockwave, the power of flame and the power of shadow exploded throughout the center of the town and began to frantically entangle and annihilate each other.

The dark witch Shani, who had just integrated into the Class Shadow Realm, hadn't even waited to manipulate the power of the field to strike Grim before she was forced out by the collision of energies that exploded throughout the field.

And as soon as her delightfully graceful figure emerged from a dark shadow, that damned legendary fire witch harnessed a boundless sea of fire and quickly rushed over to kill her.

"Bastard, how did this guy know how to deal with the power of the domain..."

Shani cursed angrily as she waved her hand over a hundred Shadow Arrows to intercept the approach.

This Class Shadow Realm was, after all, something she held up with the aid of the Origin Gauntlet, not a part of her own power. Therefore, Shani's compatibility with this domain wasn't very high. That was why she was 'shaken' out due to a field-wide space energy shock.

That fire witch possessed such a means, and to be honest, it really made Shani feel like she had to look at her differently!

As she watched the Legendary Fire Witch dashing towards her, Shani disappeared into the endless darkness with a flash.

In the next second, the spot she had just been in was engulfed by a fiery fireball.

...........

"Dammit, tell her to run away again!"

Sensing the empty breath of life in the bursting flames, Grim couldn't help but whisper a curse.

For a long time, Grim's favorite tactic in wizard battles was to unscrupulously spread and expand the sea of fire, creating a huge battlefield for himself that came and went as he pleased.

But today, besieged inside this Class Shadow Realm, he had tasted the bitterness of entering someone else's home turf!

Inside this Class Shadow Realm, that dark witch also had the space to infinitely jump and travel in battle. As long as she wanted to, she could appear in any geographical area within the domain at any time.

Using this advantage, she would be able to sneak up on Grim with unbridled impunity. And when Grim tried to counterattack, the other party had already slipped away to another territory.

Therefore, in this one-sided transparent space, it was almost impossible for Grim to exert her full strength. If it wasn't for the fact that the chip was barely able to track down the dark witch, Grim would have been stuck in an awkward situation where he was unable to fight back.

As he watched the dark witch disappear, Grim's black pupils flashed blue, and the formerly dark and lightless vision suddenly turned into an extremely monotonous gray world. The entire visual field was filled with randomly flowing dark grey energy masses.

In this grey world, a red trace that was still slowly dissipating was clearly visible.

Grim didn't hesitate to force away the entangling shadow energy, following the direction of the red traces dissipating in a hurry.

Nearly a thousand meters away, that dark witch Shani had just shuttled over from the Shadow Realm and was still mobilizing her shadow energy to find and lock onto the legendary fire witch's location.

But before she could get feedback from the realm space, a violent blazing fireball shook the void and flew over in a graceful arc.

The unprepared Shani's hands and feet were busy blocking the bursting impact of the swift fireball, only then did she realize that the legendary fire witch was about to kill her with a terrifying might.

"Damn it, how did that male witch find me?"

With a strong grudge, Shani could only escape into the void once again, using a dark node to quickly emerge from the other side of the domain.

This time, she finally learned her lesson and didn't pour all of her mental energy into grasping and controlling the domain.

As expected, just before she emerged from the dark node for more than 3 seconds, the male witch rushed over again with boundless power.

At this point, Dark Witch Shani was completely certain that that male witch had used some unknown means to... lock her position!

Damn damn damn damn...what good was the class shadow field she'd gone to such lengths to create if she didn't have the convenience of a home field? You can't let them chase you around the field like a gopher, can you?

The reluctant Shani tried a few more times before she was completely dead.

That bastard... actually had the means to track her down in the Class Shadow Realm!

Although this was somewhat unbelievable, but thinking about the thousands of strange and almost all the strange sorceries of the witchcraft system, Shani could only choose to accept it helplessly.

After once again coming out of a certain dark node, Shani did not choose to hide, but quickly mobilized her shadow energy and began to seriously prepare for battle.

She, Shani, a dark witch who had been promoted for 500 years, didn't rely on trickery to get to her current position. If it came down to it, her name 'Night Raven Shani' wasn't given in vain.

Sensing the agitation and vibrations of the shadow energy around her, Shani quickly judged the direction and angle of the legendary fire witch's rush.

With a fast and clear spell, countless shadow energies that were originally cruising and flowing suddenly gathered together and condensed into a huge core of darkness, and then suddenly seven or eight strange shadow tentacles three or four stories high poked out from it and waved around aimlessly.

When the legendary fire witch roll came swooping down in a huge ball of fire, all the shadow tentacles reached out together and bound it firmly in place like an octopus.

When the shadow tentacles made contact with the giant fireball, a series of small energy martyrs immediately erupted in the field.

The heat and light from the fireball continued to melt the Shadow Tentacle, leaving it limp like toasted ice cream. But the wild surge of shadow energy around it caused the massive dark core to spawn a new tentacle again, hard enough to intercept Grim.

And using this rare opportunity, those 2nd and 3rd level shadow creatures even stepped on the void and tentacles, rushing out of the diffuse darkness and frantically attacking that cluster of light outside of Grim's body.

Every bit of dark power that penetrated and attacked caused the light cluster to tremble and shake endlessly, and Grim, who was inside the light cluster, was even able to clearly perceive the frequency of each tremor and the magnitude of the shaking.

In Grim's hands, a blazing fireball was fired in response like a cannonball, and almost every fireball was capable of destroying a rank 2 or severely wounding a rank 3 Shadow creature. Even if those shadow warriors chose to defend with all their might while attacking, they could not stop the penetration of the blazing flames.

And once the dark core was destroyed, no shadow creature could still maintain their power projection on the alien plane.

After all, having mastered the Laws of Flame, Grim's flame penetration ability was one of the best even among elemental sorcerers!

Furthermore, these shadow creatures that had been killed by Grim himself, their very bodies located in the Shadow Realm also incinerated to ash in a sudden burst of flames. This situation was certainly unknown to Shani, who was still trying to fight, otherwise, her internal pain must have skyrocketed ten times more than it was now.

Why were the shadow creatures so difficult to deal with?

Not least because they were very good at using shadow energy for power projection.

Therefore, while their power projection was blood bathing and sacrificing on the other side, their own bodies were steady as a rock and continued to survive in the Shadow Realm. Even if they died and sacrificed, they only needed to spend some of their mental energy to re-project their own power again.

It was because of this singular characteristic of the shadow creatures that they became a terrifying existence that all flesh and blood creatures were unwilling to face with their near-zero defenses.

But they've met their nemesis when they meet Grim!

With the aid of the powerful Flame Law, those dead shadow creatures would bring back a portion of the Flame's power as their consciousness returned. Thus, their consciousness ontology in the Shadow Realm, the Dark Core, would be instantly annihilated by the power of the Flame.

And this, too, was the most frightening aspect of all Rule Shamans!

When they use Rule Leverage to leverage their power system, they can often use an extremely small force to inflict extremely horrific damage on their enemies. Furthermore, using a rule power strike to damage the enemy, such an attack is almost unbreakable.

Unless you also have a similar rule power to protect yourself, you'll have to suffer in silence!

The fact that the dark witches didn't realize earlier that Grim had already mastered part of the flame law was a sign of a major flaw in their plan. At this point in the battle, they could only break their teeth and swallow blood, weeping and suffering this unexpectedly great loss.
