Age of Adepts

Chapter 1106 - Blood Moon Killing

Compared to the extravagance of the Holly Witch, Qiu Lisa was a lot more simple and low-key.

Without a powerful puppet to watch the night watch, without a free slave to serve her personally, Qiu Lisa did it herself, and it took a full hour to organize a hut where she could settle down.

After taking care of all this, standing in the central position of the hut, she pulled out a goose-sized green ball from her bosom and tossed it onto the floor, the latter then turned into a puddle of green liquid and merged into the ground.

In the next bend of the finger, a layer of thin, almost imperceptible green boundary enveloped the entire hut, shutting out everything around it. And on top of the boundary, various strange hallucinogenic runes loomed, always spreading psychic illusions to mislead possible prying eyes.

The five wind spirits floated above the village, looking down, the area around the residence of the Holly Witch was white and nothing could be seen. Witch Kewlissa's hut, on the other hand, was unobstructed and could see all her activities inside through the cracks in the boards.

But it was precisely because the sight was so clear that it also made Grim couldn't help but wonder if everything he saw was an illusion. After all, that Qiu Lisa was very good at mental abilities!

The night was already deepening, and the sky was densely covered with a beautiful, shimmering star.

Only a strange dark red always enveloped the vault of the sky in the dark and heavy night, causing the bright moon discs to cast down with a disturbing blood tint.

The blood moon... it was an ominous sign in any bit, and an instinctive emotional outpouring of bit consciousness!

It is often also a sign that on this quiet and peaceful night, there may be terrible bloodshed taking place somewhere within the bitemporal plane. And bloodshed that could trigger a reaction from the consciousness of the bit, the horror of it was obvious.

Grim looked out over the blood moon for a moment before he gently closed the wooden window and sat back down at the wooden table.

He wasn't good at divination prophecies.

If Alice was around at the moment, she would definitely be able to detail everything that happened somewhere far away based on such an obvious bit of signs. Unfortunately, in Grim's place, there would be nothing more than perceiving the distressing scent of murder.

Perhaps there was another bit invasion somewhere in the Morian Plane, or else it couldn't have triggered such a massive killing. Who was invading the Austrian Empire, the Calamity side or the World of the Gods? Or is it a demon of the abyss?

Too many possibilities, too much speculation...it also made Grim extraordinarily distracted.

The threat of that Mesa Witch, the unpredictable future of fate, the harsh and complicated environment of existence, the uncontrollable direction of development... all of these weighed on Grim's shoulders, and made him feel more and more heavy and depressed.

If it were any other sorcerer, under such spiritual weight, he would have become either a mind-twisting pervert or a crazed hedonist who ate and drank f*ck all!

He, on the other hand, could only keep his mind more and more clear under such heavy pressure, and run as fast as he could at a speed that was incomprehensible to normal people, using all means and resources to enhance and strengthen himself.

After all, in the Sorcerer's World, power was what meant everything!

And only with absolute power is he truly safe and able to pause and enjoy life a little!

So, having done all this, the only thing Grim wanted now was, to be alive....

In the past, when he was still an apprentice sorcerer, his enemies coveted and plotted nothing more than his body and soul. But now, as he progressed and grew step by step, his past enemies had all vanished, but new ones were emerging.

To this day, he had achieved astonishing achievements unimaginable to outsiders, but he had also set up some terrifying enemies for himself that were difficult for ordinary people to provoke. And everything that the other side harshly demanded was something he was unable to pay for. Therefore, if he fell into the enemy's traps and snares and was unable to break free, his fate would be no better than that of an apprentice.

And this, too, was a sadness of being a sorcerer!

Often, it's not that they are choosing life, but that life is pushing and prodding them to choose. Once they move forward a little slower, some horrible things can happen that they never want to see happen.

So, when fate has given them a certain wonder, it has also turned their lives onto another rough road of move or die. Fate's hand is behind their backs, whipping and flogging them, and the slightest delay is the end of a legendary life!

And this is the kind of life that Grim has to find a way to transcend, in addition to trying to adapt and endure. Only when he is strong beyond the scope of being manipulated and kneaded by the hand of fate can he truly take control of his own life.

..................

The dark night was deep.

A scarlet blood moon hung high in the firmament.

The moonlight that projected onto the earth was imbued with an unbearable amount of blood.

On a towering cliff, Setanus Evil Hoof stood majestically, slowly examining the world in front of it with a kind of monarchical arrogance.

It was intoxicated and relaxed, sniffing in the smell of blood floating in the air, sensing the thick, almost indestructible scent of killing. Through the rules level, it could even hear the miserable screams of its prey as they lay dying, or see the fleeting glimpses of pain twisting their souls.

Life was also a resource, and the soul of every bit creature was a history that could not be easily erased!

But now, they all became the personal wealth of it, Setanus Evilhoof.

As the great Lord of the Night, if it brought such a huge fortune back to the Calamity Seat, I'm afraid that the favor of the world it could gain would be enough to raise its personal level that had remained unchanged for a thousand years by a small step.

Thousands of different beasts had scattered in this Kantos Continent, attacking the city and invading the door along the way, harvesting uncountable amounts of life energy and souls for it. But unfortunately, there were still too few, too few high-quality souls among them.

Therefore, under the control and command of Certens Evil Hoof, the alienated beasts scattered all over the world began to gather and aimed in one direction, that great arcane city floating high in the middle of the continent - Regent's Garden.

That was the hunting target that it had already circled, and it even went so far as to fight a few fierce fights with the other small Calamity Lords that had come after it. After tasting the violent and ferocious attacks of the Aurous Night Lords, those feeble fellows could only swallow their pride and divert their paths, running to attack the other two floating cities.

Thus, this beautiful and exquisite Floating Hollow City became the target it, Setanus Evil Hoof, wanted to raid and kill the most!

In the night, the army of alienated beasts were still in the midst of their frenzy of slaughter and looting.

The scent of life and soul that drifted in through the rules level continued to blend into Setanus' body and also made it feel more and more comfortable and relaxed, until its enjoyment process was unexpectedly interrupted by some damned intruders.

Settas Evil Hoof stood upright and sniffed hard against the night breeze, detecting a hint in the air of a creature not of Calamity.

There was a hint of order and rigor in the chaos and evil, a touch of intrigue and cunning in the old and conservative....

Damn, it's the breath of a wizard!

A few wizards had wandered into its hunting area and slaughtered some of its people.

The powerful and hideous body of Setas Evil Hoof soared with an evil and cruel air.

Woodland, with all four hooves pushing hard, it leapt down from the top of a high cliff, wildly and wildly rushing towards somewhere in the west.

The cold night wind was whistling around it.

Setanus ran wildly under the moonlit night with a stance like a galloping horse, and its speed far exceeded even that of most flying creatures.

A rice field, a forest, and a stream swept by beneath its feet....

Along the way, it passed through many human villages and towns, where weeping and wailing and fires were raging, and the crazy killing of the alienated beasts could be seen and heard everywhere.

But Setas did not care about this, often a leap can reach a hundred meters away, a human gathering point just abandoned behind it one by one, persistent and determined to pounce somewhere in the west.

And those alienated beasts scattered on the road that were killing madly, after sensing the evil hoof's scent, sped up to finish the harvest, rushed out of the human villages and towns, and followed closely behind it to make a mad advance towards some unknown region in the distance.

Under the night, a small xenomorphic beast attack route was strangely born just like that!

With a leap onto a small mountain pack, the Evil Hoof stopped abruptly, and with a cold and cruel gaze, it swept a glance at the dark human village not far away.

Inside, three soul scents of varying strength could be detected, and around the village, the scent of some elemental life could also be perceived.

If the other party's strength was too feeble, Evil Hoof wouldn't have traveled thousands of miles to this place to give a warning.

In its perception, the scent of the sorcerer hidden in the village in front of it had reached a point where it all needed to pay attention and be on guard. Therefore, it needed to eliminate the unstable elements in the surrounding before it could conduct the final hunt.

And these weak witches were undoubtedly some nasty little insects, not only annoying but abominable!

Although their scent had reached the limit of the power that this dimension could hold, out of their usual contempt for sorcerers, Evil Hoof didn't consider them as their true opponents.

After all, the profession of sorcerer mostly came from some intelligent races with low natural potential.

They were either physically feeble or mentally weak, and there were always all sorts of sneeringly huge flaws. With such a race, with such a base, even if they barely managed to raise their soul strength to the 4th stage, they were still classified as 'prey' in the eyes of the great Certens Evil Hoof.

It was only that today's Evil Hoof already had another prey that was easier to obtain, and thus, lost interest in hunting and killing the spiky prey in front of him.

However, Evil Hoof didn't want to give these witches some bad thoughts because of his momentary 'mercy', thus disturbing the blood feast to come. Thus, some necessary warnings and suppression were necessary!

If these spoilers were too dishy in strength, Evil Hoof didn't mind swallowing a few witches as dessert before the big meal. After all, being able to become a 4th ranked wizard, the soul quality was quite delicious!
