Age of Adepts

Chapter 1117 - Chaotic Battlefield

When the place was once again quiet, an inexplicable sound of footsteps sounded softly.

No figure could be seen, no shadow could be seen, and a series of clear footprints suddenly surfaced on the dirty and filthy blood stains on the ground.

The footprints extended until they came to the place where the Holly Witch had disappeared before stopping.

A moment later, the golden flames that wrapped around his body faded, and Grim's young and strong body was revealed.

Inside was a set of red witch robes, and outside was a deep black cloak, with a hood pulled up to cover his face, and only some messy black hair poking out of the opening.

Grim's burning pupils scanned quickly before his eyes, quickly identifying the scent of power of several of the parties involved.

Holly, the werewolf, the fox girl, and...Shani the dark witch!

As it turned out, that Shani didn't really die, but chose to be resurrected again in this different dimension. As a 4th level mid-level dark witch, her appearance had definitely sounded alarm bells for Grim.

I'm afraid this trip to Floating City wouldn't go as smoothly as he thought it would!

The old rival Dark Witch had appeared, and two strange Beast God followers had popped up, and if you added that calamitous little lord Evil Hoof... there were more than five otherworldly powerhouses cruising around the Floating City at this point, looking for hunting grounds and prey.

The Holly Wizard, although his individual strength was good, was clearly overwhelmed by the immediate benefits.

At a time like this, why would one go to the trouble of scavenging resources to rob a fully loaded prey!

It was because he didn't understand this truth that the party was kicked out of the competition by the enemy who had come in companionship at the start of the war. From the scent in front of him, it could be judged that the Holly Wizard had probably fallen into that Shani's hands at the moment.

And the purpose of that Shani's abduction of Holly, Grim could roughly guess it.

Shani had already 'died in battle' once, and had lost all of her wizards and equipment, plus her newly born body couldn't reach the 4th rank standard in a short period of time, her basic battle strength would definitely drop significantly.

Therefore, the current Shani didn't dare to face Grim at all.

Once she bumped into Grim, it wouldn't be a matter of her hunting Grim then, but rather whether or not Grim was willing to let her go.

In order to kill Grim and complete this mission, Shani could only venture out to find some 'helpers'.

Qiu Lisa was too useless, and finding her cooperation wouldn't help Shani's battle power in the slightest. That was why that Shani had her sights set on the poor Holly Witch.

Although an oath contract existed between Grim and Holly, there was no telling how that Holly Wizard would choose when his life was under control.

Looks like the next time we meet, both Shani and Holly are going to be enemies of their own!

Grim was in the middle of bowing his head and chanting when he suddenly looked up into the sky not far away, then a golden flame quickly spread throughout his entire body, causing his form to disappear into the air again.

Through a strange burst of flame.

A majestic and magnificent body suddenly appeared above the sky, leaning over to look at the battlefires burning everywhere on the Floating City and laughing up at the sky with a deafening mania.

The visitor was a terrifying Abyssal Demon.

It was covered in a thick, spiny, sturdy bronze armor that was riddled with huge scratches, almost hiding the patterns on the surface of the armor. From the residual marks, it could be seen that they were of varying depths, and could span as long as several hundred years.

As it stood aloft laughing fiercely, the muscles exposed on the outside of the armor swelled and grew as quickly as inflating, holding the ancient and old bronze armor a bit stronger. The indigo-colored skin was covered with all sorts of strange and twisted magic patterns, and the tombed muscle mass was even stronger and more solid as if it were a piece of hardened iron ingot.

It has a cruel and frightening appearance, with its mouth protruding forward severely, and a fierce face that resembles that of an ape or a draconian. On its back, a pair of dark red tattered bat wings swayed slightly, covered with sharp and sharp hooked claws.

Whenever it opened its mouth, it would spray out a translucent sulfur poisonous fire from its sensible teeth, filling the entire space with a choking, pungent, heavy sulfur smell.

An Abyssal Great Demon with a rank of 4....

Grim hid in the shadows with the aid of flame stealth, silently observing the intruder.

It could be seen that the Calamity creatures' attack on the Floating City had set off the war**, drawing in the alien invaders lurking nearby. It had also made the war even more confusing, making it difficult to predict the exact course of events that would follow.

And that wasn't the end of it!

As the Abyssal Demon flapped its tattered demonic wings and swooped towards a battlefield somewhere in the distance, a streak of light flashed in the sky, once again catching Grim's attention.

It was a pale white strange flame, and inside it hid a skeleton man made of purely fluorescent white skeletons put together.

Looking at its fluorescent white crystal skeleton, at the various magical gems that filled its entire gums, and at the strange soul fire hiding behind the huge ruby in its dark orbits, Grim felt a strange chill from his heart.

A witch demon... a terrifying witch demon of rank 4!

And I'm afraid such a fellow would have been enough to command a complete small skeletal bit!

Hidden in the cold flames of death, this witch demon sliced through Grim's head. As it passed by, its cold, merciless, cruel and evil soul fire fluctuation swept past Grim's invisibility quickly, and stayed for a brief moment.

Seemingly sensing Grim's soul scent that was not weaker than his own, this witch demon did not choose to wage war with him, but flew away with an eerie sneer all the way.

That was the biggest difference between a spellcaster and a battle cleric!

Arrogant guys like Demons, Calamities, and Star Beasts, relying on their strength, often rushed up and did it without saying a word once they realized the existence of their enemies. As for whether they could do it or not, that was a different matter.

And spell casters like witches and wizards were a bit more rational and cunning.

When they encountered enemies, especially those of the same class, they would usually choose to avoid battle, preferring to attack opponents who were a little weaker.

Only when an enemy revealed a more obvious weakness would they rise up and launch a swift and violent attack against them. And once they sensed that they were in danger, they also tended to be the most resolute group of people to flee.

Thus, the witch demon had clearly perceived the fluctuations of the strange rule flames outside of Grim's body. However, after weighing the situation a bit, he decided that he didn't have the capital to take it down quickly and flew elsewhere without hesitation.

From this, Grim was also able to deduce that it was also a fellow that had mastered some of the rule power.

Therefore, it was able to recognize the fluctuations of the flame laws outside of Grim's body, while that Abyssal Demon, who had great power in the air, was not able to detect Grim's presence.

Seeing the sudden appearance of a terrifying and powerful person, Grim's brows could not help but furrow more and more.

This pool of water could be getting more and more mixed.

Moreover, the number of predators mixing in it was also increasing.

Under such circumstances, it would undoubtedly be more than a thousand times harder than originally estimated to gain something!

Originally, with only Evil Hoof and the three of them, Grim was still confident that he had a certain advantage and upper hand, and would be able to obtain whatever he needed at will. But now it seemed that any little gain would probably require a huge price to pay!

In particular, that dark witch was an unexploded bomb.

If she was stalked to death, I'm afraid it would be hard to get something out of her!

But on second thought, Grim couldn't help but feel lofty again.

Calamity, Beast God Believers, Demons, Wraiths... which one of these guys picked out wasn't a prominent party within the bit, and which one hadn't cultivated for centuries to get to where they were now? And yet it had only been 200 years since he was born, and compared to them, the difference in strength wasn't huge.

Even for a few of them, Grim still had great confidence in steadily eating them.

This...already fully indicated that Grim's development potential was far beyond them!

So, instead of being discouraged in the face of a formidable competitor, Grim should be proud of his accomplishments....

As he silently cheered himself up, Grim concealed his form and touched down towards the inner ring area of the Floating Sky City.

It had to be admitted that the size of this Floating Sky City was also unusually huge.

Those arcane masters had literally moved an entire super huge city into the sky.

And the other party was able to make such an almost miraculous great achievement, even Grim couldn't help but be impressed in his heart.

Honestly, if the soul that Grim had crossed over at that moment had descended not into the Sorcerer's World, but into the Austrian Empire, I'm afraid that he would have been able to mix into a great Austrian by now!

After all, advancement in the Austrian Empire relied more on one's level of knowledge of the arcane arts, rather than setting strict fixed standards for each class like the sorcerers did. Therefore, the Arcane Empire's arcane masters rarely hardened their bodies, and even their mental levels were much weaker than their fellow sorcerers.

Some of such guys, once stripped of their arcane towers and arcane facilities, would be as vulnerable as a bunch of bunnies in front of a fellow sorcerer!

Grim was invisible, wandering through the empty streets of Floating City.

Some of the aberrant beasts that were scurrying everywhere raced past his side, knocking down and smashing many of the stores and shops along the way. Whenever they found the arcane facilities that were guarding the arcane facilities, the alienated beasts would hiss and gather to attack.

This caused fires to burst into flames everywhere in Floating Sky City, and the sounds of houses collapsing and roaring and fighting could be heard everywhere.

It was at this time that Grim once again saw the Abyssal Great Demon.

The latter, on the other hand, was fighting against the two Arcane Towers in a mad duel.

Within the arcane towers, the life soul breath of the two 4 ring arcane masters could be faintly detected.
