Age of Adepts

Chapter 1173 - Mullivar, Capital of Trolls

The Hazen Position, Troll Capital.

Mullivar.

As the troll capital that ruled the Hexen Plane, Mullivar was also unimaginably grand and vast to outsiders.

The entire Mullivar was built on a mountain.

In all seriousness, this Troll Capital was almost excavated from inside the mountain.

From the base of the mountain to the top, at every certain height, a gentle slope would be hollowed out of the mountain's belly and solid stone buildings would be built on top of it. The gentle slope is connected to each other by stone steps excavated from the mountain, with stone totems more than two meters high dotted on both sides of the steps, and stone fire pots placed at the entrance of each level.

From the bottom to the top, looking up, there are more than a hundred layers of such distinct, habitable stone platforms.

As far as one could see, the top of this huge stone mountain was densely and cascadingly filled with stone houses, yet it did not give the impression of being crowded and messy in the slightest.

Facing the stone tunnel was a majestic stone staircase that led from the foot of the mountain to the top, making it seem almost unattainable. At the end of the nearly ten thousand stone steps stands an unusually grand and magnificent tall shrine.

Every sunrise or sunset, all the trolls living in Mulivar would gather near this stone staircase and kneel down to pray to the shrine, asking the great Feathered Serpent God to continue to protect the troll tribe and give them great strength, so that the Degu Jungle would have good weather and abundant beasts.

However, in the past few days, with the arrival of the foreign invaders, the trolls added another item to their prayers, and that was that the Feathered Serpent God would be able to show his divine power and protect the troll clan from the plague.

Some time ago, the Troll Expeditionary Force that had been sent into the jungle to search for those invaders had returned in dismal defeat. And along with them came back not only the many wounded, but also the terrifying pestilence!

The Trolls were still living in a primitive state, they did not have an effective medical system in place. Therefore, there were only 30 to 40 witch doctors in the entire Troll Capital, and most of them were of the 1st or 2nd rank.

Although the troll top brass and witch doctors also realized the horror of the plague, and ordered those infected to stay in the temporary camp at the foot of the mountain, and were not allowed to return home or enter the city. But it was clear that this order had not been firmly and thoroughly carried out and enforced!

By some unknown means, the plague still spread to the city.

Almost overnight, half of the 23,000 inhabitants up and down Mullivar were infected with this terrible plague.

For a while, the entire inner city was filled with poor trolls that were covered in dazzling yellow and green poisonous clouds, coughing violently without stopping, and their bodies were so weak that they could hardly get up.

It was actually still their bodies that were strong enough!

If such a plague was placed in a human city, it would probably spawn thousands of plague creatures overnight. And yet the same plague that fell on the trolls would only cause them to lose their ability to move and lie there tormented.

And on top of a tall stone platform in the temple at the top of the mountain, several strong-bodied, temperamental troll leaders were gathering together, angrily chastising a troll witch doctor with a wooden staff in his hand and a rickety, withered figure.

"Jek, is your man alright or not? When exactly will this plague be exorcised?"

"I can't stand it anymore...more than half of my stick boys are already lying down, and you guys are sitting on your asses doing nothing..."

"Hurry...hurry up and come up with a solution. My little Shinra is still suffering from the plague at home! She's going to have an accident, and we of the Zango tribe won't take a single cent of your witch doctor's offering this year..."

Those who were able to gather here were all the chiefs of the various tribes, and they were also all powerful Tier 3 Troll Warriors. However, they were helpless in the face of the sudden plague, and could only roar loudly and frantically at the witch doctor leader in front of them.

Yike, a 3rd rank witch doctor and the only 3rd rank witch doctor in the entire troll kingdom!

It was already over seven hundred years old this year.

Its long life had allowed it to see countless twists and turns and risks, so in the face of the terrifying epidemic, it didn't lose its cool like other trolls, but instead displayed a calm and relaxed demeanor.

"Shut up! All of you bastards, shut up..."

Looking at the unusually grumpy leaders gathered around his side, the Yerk witch doctor fiercely punched his wooden staff, and a violent current of air swept them around and staggered them back a few steps. And at the same time as the violent drink, a huge feathered snake suddenly appeared behind Yike.

It was a powerful creature with strange feathered wings and golden scales, and on top of its flat and wide snake head, two emerald shining pupils burst out with a compelling and fierce gaze, slowly sweeping over the bodies of the people.

The arena immediately quieted down.

All the trolls knelt on one leg and pressed their hands to their chests, offering their reverence and devotion to the manifested Feather Serpent God.

"The enemy is approaching..."

"Due to Kano's incompetence, a trace of my power source also fell into their hands..."

"I need you to go and take it back..."

The Feather Serpent God hissed and screeched, the strange sound constantly hovering in the heavens and earth, so sharp that it could almost tear one's eardrums.

Hearing the Feather Serpent God's command, several troll leaders couldn't help but look at each other.

Finally, one of the trolls battled the audacity to open his mouth.

"Great Feathered Serpent God, I wonder where those enemies are?"

"To the west...the location is so close that I can almost smell the stench coming from them there...the plague that was transmitted in Mullivar was driven by them.... ...The plague cannot be completely eradicated without reclaiming the original source of my power..."

The Feather Serpent God's orders were so clear, naturally there was no room for bargaining for the troll leaders.

The trolls responded to the order and hurriedly left the witch doctor's hut, rushing back to their own tribe to gather their men.

When the troll chiefs left one after another, the Feathered Snake God Void didn't just disappear, but exchanged silently with the Yeerk Witch Doctor for a few more moments before it slowly dispersed.

...........

It was a small, exotic space independent of the Hazenian Plane.

Its area was less than 100,000 square meters.

Yet it was similar to the layout of the city of Trolls, with huge, grey square rocks everywhere, grand statues of gods everywhere, and lush jungles everywhere....

And in the center of this strange space, through a passage covered with moss and small water swamps, is a huge nest of giant rocks.

The air here was sultry and humid, similar to the common rainforest.

On top of a small stone platform, inside a thick layer of whitish bones, rested a huge egg shell over a meter high. The feathered serpent god was lying quietly beside the giant egg, coiling it up with its long, thin tail before gently spitting golden lightning at it.

The violent lightning that used to be filled with destruction appeared gentle and peaceful at this moment, constantly bursting and splattering around the egg into countless tiny scattered currents, which were then engulfed by the egg bit by bit.

Whenever a certain amount of golden lightning was devoured, a strange and satisfied spiritual fluctuation would come out from the egg shell. At this time, the little life inside the egg would stop devouring and fall asleep to digest the golden lightning with a hint of bitmain air.

Only when the egg was asleep, could the giant female Feathered Serpent God rest for a moment, close her eyes and open her mouth, waiting for the few male Feathered Serpents that acted as servants and guards to bring food into its mouth.

In the entire Feathered Serpent Kingdom, apart from a few beasts that were kept as food, the rest were all Feathered Serpents that were worshipped by trolls.

There were only twelve Feathered Serpent Guards, all of them were males, and all of them had a basic strength of 2nd or 3rd rank. The only female was the female Feather Serpent God Zuka, who had grown stronger and stronger under the power of faith, and was also a tribal totem god worshipped and believed in by the jungle trolls.

After thousands of years of imbibing the power of faith, Zuka had mastered some of the divine power without a master. And its basic strength had jumped to a 5th rank primary.

However, out of the beast's instincts, it still expended a massive amount of faith power as well as many divine qualities to give birth to an offspring. During the entire incubation period, its base strength had also fallen from 5th rank beginner to 4th rank advanced, and it had to face a period of weakness of up to three hundred years.

The Feather Serpent God Zuka spewed golden lightning for three days and nights before feeding the little life inside the egg. When it fell asleep, Zuka breathed a sigh of relief, lay down next to the egg and began to take a nap.

However, whenever it tried to perform deep meditation to recover its lost strength, a strange wave of energy was spilled out of its mental sea, disturbing it.

"Bastards... these damn intruders, I'm going to break you into pieces and bruise your bones!"

Disturbed from sleep by this strange foreign fluctuation, the Feathered Serpent God Zuka appeared to be violent and tyrannical.

Its grand, sharp roar instantly resounded through this strange world, causing the entire space to tremble.

All the demons that heard the roar were so frightened that their limbs went limp and they fell to the ground, unable to move.

Even the Feathered Serpent guards were so frightened that they fell to their knees and spread their wings, not knowing what they had done to anger their lord.

The little beings in the dome were also clearly disturbed, hissing and emitting irritated mental fluctuations.

The Feather Serpent God Zuka, who was tyrannical and abnormal at one moment, hurriedly restrained his anger in the next moment and reapplied gentle golden lightning and gentle caresses to lull the giant egg to sleep.

The Feather Serpent God Zuka erected his body, his eyes betting far to the west through this strange space and through the temple that stood high atop the Troll Capital.

"Those damned invaders have already mastered a portion of my origin power and are attacking me there using some special method. Hmph, when I free my hands, I'll make sure to show you guys a good time!"
