Age of Adepts

Chapter 1183 - Assassinating the Feathered Serpent God

Divine Space does not equal the Kingdom of God!

The Kingdom of God was the dwelling place of the gods, a divine space that the deities of the world of the gods had opened up for themselves using their great divine power. Every blade of grass, every tree, every stone and every object in the Kingdom of God is made of the purest divine origin.

Even the people inside were the most devout devotees of the gods in the surface world who had died, and their souls had been drawn by the gods to the divine kingdom and reshaped into forms using the omnipotent divine power.

It was precisely because the relationship between the Kingdom of God and the gods was so close that it became a strange space for the gods to exercise their will and continue their divinity.

It could be politely said that the Divine Kingdom was the true body of a deity, a mysterious and indestructible kingdom used to protect his or her soul.

And the Divine Space was a thousand times worse than the Divine Kingdom!

Some 'deities' with insufficient divine power, who originally did not have the ability to use their divine power to open a separate divine space, simply cut corners and secretly cut out a bit of space from the material world in order to whitewash their face, and then used their divine power to isolate it from the original world.

As for some of the more 'shabby' deities, they didn't even have the ability to invade the entire space with their divine power, and simply circling out a piece of land for their own enjoyment would suffice.

And for such a space, the shamans despicably called it the Divine Space.

This God's Domain space that the Feathered Serpent God had 'opened up' right now was considered the worst even among all God's Domain spaces!

There was no divine power infestation, no children of God, no pond of regeneration, no earthly pantheon, no Holy Spirit angels... the entire God's Domain space was exactly like the rainforest of the Hazen Position, and not even the slightest sign of divine transformation could be seen.

If he hadn't just broken in through the spatial singularity, I'm afraid Grim would only think that he had been caught in a trap and had been thrown into some kind of jungle by that Feathered Serpent God.

The nature of space here was also no different from the outside world, which also allowed Shadow Demon to skip the process of adapting to the spatial laws here.

Once again, Shadow Demon transformed into a wavering black shadow, blending into the backdrop of everything, and began to slowly feel his way towards the core of the Divine Space.

On a lumbering goat path in the middle of the jungle, a troop of male feathered snakes with distinct scaly armor and a body glowing with fine electric light flapped their wings and twisted their sinuous, stretched bodies through the dense forest.

In the area they were patrolling, they could perceive the terrifying scent of a large carnivorous fierce beast, and the beast's dead bones and large piles of dung were clearly visible. However, these fierce beasts were obviously more afraid of the Feathered Snake Guards, and as soon as they sensed the majestic scent of lightning waiting to strike, they panicked and hid in the distance, not daring to approach the patrol at all.

This area of dense forest was not too big, to say the least.

The jungle beasts that lived in it were all hunted by the trolls, in order to provide for the Feathered Snake God. As a totem deity worshipped by the Troll clan, the Feathered Serpent God only needed to feed once a year. But the amount of food it ate each time was astonishing.

Therefore, the trolls had to capture all the large beasts in the Degu Forest and raise them in captivity in this God Realm, waiting for the Feathered Serpent God to select and enjoy them.

The outskirts of the divine Space were all tropical jungles, holding countless beasts and birds in captivity, while at the core, there was an open-air temple filled with troll style.

The number of Feathered Serpent guards patrolling and cruising here was even greater, almost to the point where there was one guard at three paces and one sentry at five paces. But without exception, they were all male Feathered Serpents, none of them females, and none of them foreigners.

Such feathered snake guards were naturally enough to deal with ordinary trespassers, but to be used against Shadow Demon, who possessed magical power, was no different from no man's land.

The Shadow Demon was unmanned as it jumped from one shadow to another, then unscrupulously followed the cruising Feathered Serpent Guards as they strolled freely around the open-air temple.

Long tunnels stacked with huge rock blocks weighing several tons could be seen everywhere, as well as the statues of the Feathered Serpent that stood on either side of the tunnels. And apparently lacking enough manpower and slaves to take care of them, many of them had been swallowed up by the fluffy weeds and sprawling vines and mosses.

Beasts were beasts after all, and although they possessed a hint of divinity due to the convergence of the power of faith, the beast nature in their bones was still indelible.

The entire Divine Space was like a large zoo, and one could not see the magnificence and exquisiteness of the Kingdom of the Gods on Earth, nor the majesty and sanctity of the Kingdom of the Gods, and even the air was filled with a foul and stenchy smell.

The dwelling where the Feathered Serpent God rested in peace was apparently impossible for even ordinary Feathered Serpent guards to set foot in.

Thus, the Shadow Demon fled from inside the shadows beneath a group of Feathered Serpent Guards and flashed into the shadows at the corners of the long stone tunnel, then lightly touched down to the area where the foul odor was strongest.

It was an open-air shrine occupied by a circle of boulders.

A one-meter high, three-meter long and wide blue boulder was simply stacked together, leaving a vast space of nearly ten thousand square feet within. Right at the end of the tunnel was a stone platform, on which were densely and cascadingly stacked the bones of all sorts of beasts.

In the center of the bones, a white jade-like giant egg stood silently.

The feathered serpent god with white wings and pale blue fine snake scales was lying right behind the giant egg, covering it with a glad snake tail and thick wings, and spitting tiny pale blue lightning bolts at it from time to time.

Shadow Demon didn't approach the high platform, but instead cloaked in the shadow of the tall stone pillars on the side of the tunnel, silently observing and perceiving that Feathered Serpent God on the stone platform.

At this point, both Grim and Shadow Demon shut down all active perception, leaving behind only some passive perception abilities. And they both squinted their pupils into slits, only relying on the corner of their eyes to catch each other's position, never placing their sight directly on that Feathered Serpent God's body.

It couldn't be helped, the vigilance of divine creatures was quite high!

Whenever danger fell upon them, the divine power would send them danger alerts through various means. Those more powerful divine creatures could even gain knowledge of the source and obscure process of danger through their divine power.

And those with the gift of prophecy were even more terrifying.

Even if its enemies were only plotting and planning, all of its actions had yet to be carried out. Just the thought of harming it appears in its enemy's mind, and it can get feedback on the dangers of the world, understanding and insight into what might happen to it in the future....

But it was good that the Feathered Serpent God in front of it apparently did not possess the gift of prophecy, nor did it have the ability to see the path of fate, otherwise how could it have tolerated a 'mortal' sneaking into its kingdom, close enough to snoop and plot a surprise attack on it.

To assassinate a 'deity', even if it was just an indigenous god... a totem god... it wasn't that simple!

Any little bit of wind and grass could trigger the other party's divine power.

This place was, at any rate, its divine space, and possessed the characteristics of a space that was best suited for the other party to exert their powerful power. If one really wanted to give the opponent ample time to arm themselves, the Divine Space was as important to the Feathered Serpent God as the Witch Tower was to the Sorcerer.

Therefore, under Grim's guidance, the Shadow Demon did not rush to attack, but instead cloaked in the shadows and began to unleash the power of the Shadow Jewel inside his body a little.

The Feather Serpent God was now only a 4th rank, while the Shadow Jewel was a 5th rank Dark Sacred Artifact.

In terms of power level alone, the Shadow Jewel's power was much higher than the Feather Serpent God's Lightning Power.

Thus, taking advantage of the other party's full care of the Dome, the Shadow Demon began to slowly and firmly invade the space with its shadow power. This encroachment was slow and slight, and any slight change would not be enough to arouse the vigilance and attention of the outside world.

However, as this change became constant and continuous, the shadow power in the area where this open-air temple was located was also invariably enhanced by 'a hint'.

Darkness was everywhere, and dark matter was most intrusive!

The moment when all things become accustomed to the presence of darkness, the moment when the forces of darkness slowly invade the minds of all things!

The Shadow Demon is like a hunting spider that is extremely adept at weaving a web of darkness, silently and quietly spreading the power of darkness . And it hides in the deepest depths of darkness, silently and quietly spying on its prey....

It waited...for an opportunity...a chance for the Feathered Serpent God's distraction....

And that opportunity will come soon, because...Mary's attack is about to begin!

The passage of time was unpredictable within the divine space.

Three days were quickly approaching.

Since the Divine Space was isolated from the outside world, how exactly the outside world was developing was unknown to Grim and Shadow Demon. However, they were able to make some guesses through the Feathered Serpent God's reactions.

At a certain moment on the third day, the Feathered Serpent God, who was lying next to the Dome with his eyes closed and resting, suddenly opened his eyes, raised his neck and let out a sharp whistle that shook the entire Divine Territory space.

This whistle was filled with rage, hatred, and even more extreme fury as its dignity was repeatedly humiliated!

The Feathered Serpent God perceived very clearly that in its already not dense faith network, a large number of faith nodes were extinguishing one by one. The painful howls of anguish from the hearts of the troll believers and the despair of failing to pray for asylum flooded into the Feather Serpent God's mind, making its mood even more tyrannical to a certain extreme.

It wanted to kill...it wanted to tear apart those invaders...it wanted....

Amidst the furious screeching of the Feathered Serpent God, a large number of Feathered Serpent Guards began to quickly assemble, ready to go out to battle with him. As for those jungle beasts in the Divine Space, one by one, they trembled in fear and hid back in their lairs, never daring to show their faces again.

However, without waiting for the Feathered Serpent God to vent all this anger, this open-air temple Woodlands became dim, and then a shocking storm of dark shadows hit it....
