Age of Adepts

Chapter 1196 - Crossing the Spirit Realm

The Spirit Realm.

The jungle was silent at night.

Tall, upright trees can be seen everywhere.

Beneath them, lush green shrubs grew haphazardly and mushrooms of various colors held up their tops like small umbrellas.

Thick vines snake their way up the trunks of the old trees, cascading upwards into the tall, wide canopy. Standing in the forest and looking upwards, the air was filled with twisted and criss-crossed vines, like a three-dimensional net that connected the ancient trees together.

The forest is not dark.

In addition to the bright moonlight casting a light blue beam through the treetops, the glowing mosses and glowing mushrooms were also emitting colorful fluorescence, turning the jungle into a strange and bizarre world of light.

And yet, in this corner of the world that outsiders could not easily step foot in, three strange visitors shattered the peace and seclusion of the place and strangely appeared.

On a patch of green grass, a strange spatial singularity slowly opened, from which a dense and horrifying red fog so dense that one could not see one's fingers reached out, almost instantly occupying a large space of nearly 10 meters square.

The red fog was dense and vibrating, as if some strange beast was roaring and struggling inside.

A moment later, the red fog dissipated, revealing three strange and bizarre human figures.

The first one was clearly a woman.

She was still in her human female form above the waist, with breasts, an ass, a slender body, and an exquisitely beautiful face. But what was strange was that the area below her waist had a completely different structure from that of a human.

Even more amazing, however, was the almost translucent nature of her skin, which swarmed with a strange green and sticky sap.

As the leader, Emelia was the first member of the group to wake up from the bit of teleportation.

She moved her body, silently surveying the surroundings as she adjusted to the bitplane environment here.

The range of space within the Spirit Realm was also tremendous, and after being away for so long, she couldn't guarantee that the bit teleportation she had hosted wouldn't stray too far from its intended target.

Most of the red mist had dissipated, but some of it had still gathered and coalesced into an ancient and oddly shaped flame figure, and it was still struggling to adjust.

"My lord, it's the spirit realm! I can sense that special bit of air here." Emelia finished her detection and respectfully reported to the flame humanoid.

"The laws of the bits here seem to be completely different from other bits, somewhat similar to the elemental realm. Also, what's wrong with my body, why is the form so strange?" Grim's voice was heard from the flaming humanoid.

He seemed to have not yet shaken off the dizziness of the bit-transportation.

"My lord, the Spirit Realm is a strange world completely different from the other planes, and a non-native creature would not be able to cross over with a flesh* body. Therefore, what you teleported over was only a cloud of spiritual consciousness. If you still manipulate it according to your past habits and experiences, you will naturally experience a slight discomfort!"

"Spiritual awareness?" Grim was shocked, "You mean to tell me that my body still remains in the Tower of Destiny, and that all that crossed over with you was a cloud of mental consciousness?"

"Yes!"

"And what is this little group of people?" Grim said as he casually grabbed a green glowing ball of light from the side.

"Master, it's me! I'm Remy..." the voice of Remy the Plague Poison Spirit was heard from the cluster of light.

"Remy, why did you cross over with me?"

"My lord, this is not surprising. Lord Remy is your deeded spirit and has a soul tie with you, so when you came to the Spirit Realm, it was naturally rolled over with you. Because what appears in the Spirit Realm is actually the true form of your soul origin!"

"So that's it!"

Grim communicated with Emelia while silently calling out to the chip in the depths of his mental consciousness.

A full dozen or so flexes passed before Chip's distorted, hissing, strange voice surfaced deep within his consciousness.

"Hissing...perceiving severe mental interference...hissing...not under the same surface velocity as the main body ...hissing...there is a significant delay in conscious communication..."

"Chip, are you going to be able to continue to give me help when you lose your body?"

"Hissing...working on removing the delay...Hissing...Estimated time: 28 hours, 37 minutes, 21 seconds ......."

In the past, the chip was embedded directly into Grim's genes, with his body responsible for providing the basic energy to function, while his spirit acted as the subject of action.

Now that the spirit consciousness was separated from the body, the chip that had followed Grim through was only a part of it. To maintain contact with the subject left in the Wizard World's Tower of Fate, it would inevitably be affected by the different time and space flow rates of the two dimensional worlds.

Therefore, it was clear that the chip would not be able to continue to provide him with assistance during the 28 hours.

Grim sighed inwardly, knowing that he could only rely on himself now.

He slowly stood up, recalling his original appearance over and over again in his mind.

Strangely enough, as he was recalling over and over again, the flaming humanoid that was originally like a child's random creation began to twist and distort strangely. The original blurred face began to cave in, and obvious eyes, ears, mouth and nose appeared.

A moment later, a bright red fire rolled past, and the flames on Grim's body retreated, revealing his young and handsome face and upright and strong body.

After all, a 4th rank wizard was a 4th rank wizard, and with just a few flexes of his fingers, he had mastered the basic application of energy shaping. It was obviously just a mass of spiritual consciousness without a substantial form, but he had created a perfect body for himself that was nearly substantial.

Just as a breeze blew by, Grim felt the slightest hint of coolness on his body.

Damn it, just shaping up but not solidifying a suit for himself!

Not caring about the little girl beside him who blushed pretty red and tried to turn her face to the side, Grim's mind turned, and with the passing of some of his mental energy, a fitted witch robe appeared out of nowhere, covering his strong and perfect body.

Energy materialization... such a small tactic was no problem for 4th rank witches.

After all, it was extremely difficult to get supplies for many of the occasions that 4th rank witches were able to go to, so it was convenient to use the law of energy transformation to condense some uncomplicated household items. But those enchanted items or witchcraft that had a strange energy system were not something that could be created by simply condensing consciousness.

Having clothes wasn't enough.

Grim stretched his left hand into the void, and a strange and beautifully shaped Fire Coral Sorcerer's Staff appeared in his hand. And with a light lift of his right hand, white light dazzled on his tail finger, and a beautiful ring made of a twisted rose branch emerged.

The Fire Coral Witch Staff and the Soden Holy Ring....

They were worthy of being rank 4 items, and all of them were able to use energy projection to project a portion of their power. This also saved Grim from using the portion of mental energy used to support their existence, and also kept his base combat power from falling too far.

As for the Flame Set, since the body was all composed of 2nd stage witches, it was only 3rd stage after forming the effect of the set. Therefore, it couldn't even project energy on its own, and wouldn't be able to help Grim in the Spirit Realm in the slightest.

Of course, if Grim was willing to spend a lot of mental energy to animate the power that projected them, these low-ranked items would be able to appear. It was just that every second of their existence was a constant drain on Grim's spiritual energy.

Only at this point did Grim fully understand.

Why did so many high ranked sorcerers prefer to have their five fingers empty rather than wear those low ranked sorcery items? The real reason was that low-grade sorcery weapons were simply not effective in most situations. Rather than keeping them to indiscriminately use them as a substitute, it was better to lighten some of the mental burden and save the energy for those truly useful sorceries.

Grim had just advanced less than a hundred years and had two Tier 4 equipment in his hands, such an extravagant and large family was also rare among Tier 4 witches.

Therefore, Emelia's eyes were filled with unconcealed envy and admiration as she looked at Grim.

Of course, it was impossible for Emelia to know that this guy Grim had two 5th rank artifacts hidden within his witch tower. Otherwise, she would have cursed that severely eccentric bit-consciousness fiercely.

"Master Master, I also want a body... "Remy was only 3rd rank and wasn't good at mind control, so after several failed 'morphing' attempts, he could only howl and ask for Grim's help! .

Grim rubbed the green ball of light that Remy's spiritual consciousness had created in his hand, and a moment later, a lifelike Q-version of Piglet was revealed.

"No no no... I don't want to be a pig!" After condensing a water mirror and seeing what he looked like after 'morphing', Remy almost collapsed, howling with a desperate effort.

Unfortunately here, it was incapable of shaping a near-real body for itself. Therefore, after some arguing to no avail, it could only accept this new body of its own in disgrace.

Although Remy wasn't happy with his new body, but from the hot eyes of Emelia staring at it intently, and the little stars that kept floating out, it could be seen that the Q-like Piggy was quite deadly to girls!

After a lot of stirring, the three of them had finally completed the adaptation stage of their travels and could officially explore in this Spirit Realm. As for the original body that remained in the Tower of Fate, with Shadow Demon in charge of protecting it, there was no danger.

Thus, after packing everything up, Grim paid attention to Emelia.

"This was once your home, so you will lead the way. Say, heading to the Spore Forest, which direction should we head in?"

Emelia closed her eyes for a moment, finally pointing a finger in a direction.

"There!"
