Age of Adepts

Chapter 1204 - Provoking War

Although Grim was helping the three swamp giants fight off the ogres as an 'ally'.

But when all the Anglosh ogres disappeared, the three swamp giants didn't treat Grim in a friendly manner. Even if Grim hadn't shown the strand of whip hair that the Swamp Wise Man had left him, they were planning to charge at him as well.

The swamp creature's 'straightforwardness' and lack of flexibility was thus evident as well!

The leader of the three swamp giants leaned close to Grim and sniffed hard at the whipped hair before saying in a low, thick, huge voice, "This is the scent of the Swamp Wise, and it seems that you are indeed our ally. Tell me, little man, what are you going to do about these pesky ogres?"

"Attack...of course!" Grim's face was filled with a helpless grin, "These Anglosh ogres helped the Demonspore clan do their evil, and we certainly taught them a lesson they'll never forget. What could make them more angry and bitter than ending its nest?"

"You plan to attack Camp Stonemallet directly? There are thousands of Anglosh ogres there..." the head Swamp Giant's mossy face showed a hint of shock, but then he got excited again, "You're right to our liking. The Swamp Wise is smart, but it's too indecisive. In fact, we should have taken out our strength long ago to drive out those guys who are plaguing the wetland swamp! If you really intend to attack the ogres, then count me in... Swamp Giant Angor is willing to follow in your footsteps!"

"Swamp Giant XXX would like to follow in your footsteps..."

"Swamp Giant XXX would like to follow in your footsteps..."

Grim had never expected that his bold words of war would resonate so strongly with the other party, and that the three Swamp Giants would voluntarily become his war allies at the same time.

Moreover, the other party had already spoken to such an extent, Grim, who was already intent on stirring up a storm in the Wetland Swamp, accepted without hesitation.

Grim and Remy turned in the direction of the three swamp giants and crossed a patchwork of ponds and waterways, approaching that so-called Stone Mallet camp step by step. And in the process, the Swamp Giant Angol couldn't stop uttering various low, melodious cries.

Thus, all the way forward there were swamp giants continuously arriving from the depths of the wetlands, and by the time they arrived at the entrance of the stone mallet camp, a team of swamp giants numbering twelve had already gathered behind Grim.

Among them, the most powerful was a rank 3 Swamp Giant, Tarut, while the rest were all young giants of rank 1 or 2.

The team stopped not far from the Stone Mallet camp, examining the opposite side from afar.

By human standards, this so-called Stone Mallet Camp didn't even live up to its name.

Not to mention the tall substantial walls, there wasn't even a single piece of the crude wooden fortress wall.

The wetland swamp was nothing but mushrooms, and it was extremely difficult to find suitable wood for construction. So the Stone Mallet Camp was nothing more than a muddy highland surrounded by a patchwork of ponds and waterways.

The ogres used to encircle the camp with nothing more than a crude five-meter high, half-meter thick stone pillar. Every ten meters or so, one was erected without any stopping facilities, so it was extremely crude.

And the ogres had already gotten wind of the arrival of the swamp giant team. Black and overwhelming swathes of ogres were standing on top of the high bank, forming a thick human wall, ready to confront the invasion of the swamp giants.

In fact, with the number and quality of the Anglosh ogres, the moment they heard that the swamp giants were marching towards the Stone Mallet camp, they blew up their nests and had planned to rush out in a swarm to play with the giants. But when the ogre brass learned that there was a fearsome human high wizard in the ranks of the swamp giants, that was when they used their power to suppress the clan's riot and decided to keep the battlefield on the edge of the camp.

But from Grim's point of view, the ogre brass' concerns and worries were purely superfluous.

With such a crude urban defense facility, it made little difference whether it was a defensive counterattack or a peripheral field battle, and it was better to be proactive than that. At least there would be more room to maneuver strategically!

Although there were quite a few swamp giants present, when it came to the level of respect they had for Grim, it was that 3rd ranked Tarut who showed the most obvious. As for the other swamp giants, they only chose to follow behind Grim out of courtesy or blind obedience.

Nothing to it, just different levels of understanding of power!

The 3rd rank swamp giants had already initially touched the upper limit of their power and realized the terrifying power of rules. Therefore, when facing a 4th rank wizard from a different plane, they were able to fathom the strength of the other side with their hearts and minds.

Ordinary giants, on the other hand, still hadn't gotten rid of the habits of lower creatures, preferring to evaluate a creature's power level by its size and muscle development.

"Lord Grim, how do you think this battle should be fought? Our side seems to be a bit weaker..." the Tarut, who was also apparently a swamp giant good at thinking and learning, crouched down and communicated with Grim with a buzzing, huge voice.

Those of its companions, however, didn't seem to agree with it, and began to clamor, especially the 1st rank giants.

"Just fight casually, no need to be so serious!" Having experienced a dozen or so bloody and brutal bit wars to imbibe, Grim was really a bit down on the 'small scene' in front of him. To put it bluntly, this wasn't a war at all, and could barely be defined as a ferocious armed fight between two villages: "We are not alone. When the war starts, Moat and the others will come to support us!"

"But..." it was clear that Tarut remained a little worried.

"What, are you afraid? If you swamp giants are afraid, stay behind and I'll send my fire creatures up to fight!" Grim said coldly.

"Fear? Lord Grim, please retract your comment, we swamp giants will not fear a single moment even in the face of death. For us swamp giants, death means returning to the bosom of the swamp mother, and our souls are forever immortal." Obviously irritated by Grim's words, this Tarut slapped his chest against the ground, looking as if his reputation had been insulted.

"Then show me the bravery of your swamp giants and show me your might! Don't worry, I will send on my Flame Legion to help you..." the Grim had already been dissatisfied with the Swamp Wise Man's procrastination.

Alice was anxiously waiting for the Water of Source Life, and he didn't have much time or effort to dawdle in this foreign realm.

So, compared to the senior management of the swamp, who were more sophisticated and calculating, Grim was much more aggressive and tougher. Anyway, the Wet Swamp was not his territory, and someone else would take over even if he was beaten to a pulp, so instead, he had no worries or ties in his heart, and had the intention of immediately starting a war.

Grim looked around at the opposite side, a tall and burly body crowded together, from which it was difficult to identify that so-called 4th stage Ogre Chief Gore Firth.

Thus, Grim gave up his search and focused on starting the battle.

Waving goodbye to Talut, Grim walked step by step towards the battlefield with his wand in hand.

As he moved forward step by step, his body was also undergoing rapid changes.

Flames poured out from inside his 'thin' body, making his body expand and grow a little with each step he took. And when he strode to a hundred meters in front of the Angrosh Ogre Camp, his entire body had grown into a terrifying Flame Giant with fierce flames dazzling all over his body.

When his half-meter thick flaming legs stepped on a muddy highland, the invisible flame force field and terrifying heat began to spread out in all directions.

The mosses, lichens and colorful mushrooms growing on it began to dry and incinerate rapidly under the baking heat. Even the ponds and swamps surrounding the mud banks were gurgling with hot air, and the muddy and filthy mud inside began to boil!

Both participants looked at this terrifying Flame Giant that had suddenly emerged in awe, feeling the heart-stopping terrifying flame fluctuations in his body. Everyone's hearts couldn't help but pound wildly, for the first time feeling the fear of a human high-ranking sorcerer straight on!

"Flame Scythe, the first appearance of the contract... Flame Gate!"

As the short and deep syllables of the incantation echoed across the battlefield, a strange gate outlined purely by fire slowly emerged in front of the Flame Giant's body. Then, as the sorcerer's staff in the Flame Giant's hand established a fire path link with the Gate of Flame, raging and surging flame energy continued to pour into it.

The Gate of Flame tore through space, summoning a huge number of flame legions from the distant Fire Elemental Plane.

The Gate of Flame opened, and countless flame creatures poured out of it, both low-ranked flame creatures like Fire Spirits, Flame Giants, Flame Dogs, and Fire Bats (1st rank), and mid-ranked flame creatures like Burning Body Flame Spirits, Flame Giants, Molten Core Giants, and Infernal Essence (2nd rank).

Of course, in the dense, head-churning procession of flame creatures, Grim also saw higher-ranked flame creatures like the Immortal Bird, the Inferno, and the Flame Lord (3rd rank).

At the same time, a thick, deep voice suddenly sounded in Grim's mind.

"The quality of the flame energy you're offering is very good. In exchange for an equivalent price, I can lend you my Flame Legion for a while. Remember, I don't care if even the low and mid-tier flame creatures are all destroyed, but if one of these flame lords is lost, you must compensate with 100 units of flame energy... are you willing?"

Grim's heart moved.

He could perceive that the one who kept in touch with his soul was at least a 5th level Flame Lord. In fact, at their level, they could already be called by the name of Flame Lords.

And since the other party was willing to take the initiative to express goodwill to him, Grim naturally had to reciprocate.

The two behind-the-scenes ambassadors communicated briefly through the Flame Gate, exchanging flame seals with each other, and then disconnected.

And at the moment Grim was distracted from communicating with the other party, on the battlefield, the raging flame creatures that had emerged had fought and battled with the tightly guarded Anglosh ogres!
