Age of Adepts

Chapter 1211 - Locating Witch Formation

It was a dark and gloomy, narrow cavern.

Due to being underground, the stone walls of the cavern were covered with moss and lichen, emitting a cold, pale fluorescent light in the darkness.

At this moment, however, a graceful black figure was standing in a small clearing in the center of the cavern, squatting down and silently carving a strange witch formation on the cold, wet, hard stone floor.

A small positioning witch formation, thirty-three mysterious runes, two hundred and eighty-eight rune lines, every single stroke of every single stroke could not make the slightest mistake. Otherwise, not only would it not pick up the self-lord, it would also trigger a terrifying sorcery backlash, thus exposing the existence of this secret passage.

If you don't have the mental strength of a high ranked sorcerer, it would be difficult to complete such a difficult and tedious task.

The reason why high level sorcerers respected mental power so much was because only with super high mental power could they maintain the data calculation and mental perception abilities comparable to a 'super brain'. As for the witch formations after the higher stages, there were easily hundreds of witchcraft runes stacked densely together, and as for the witch threads that guided the flow of energy, they were as fine as silk and as dense as cow's hair....

Without a supernatural brain, something like this was impossible to play with.

And that was just the High Sorcerer Formation!

Those super-tier sorcery formations, on the other hand, were even more terrifying and directly turned into three-dimensional.

If one wanted to remember the unusually complicated rune lines and dense star-like sorcery runes inside, if one didn't have super-high mental strength, one would have to suffocate oneself with an oversized brain like a different brain in order to accomplish such a terrifying task.

It took half a day's effort before Emelia was able to successfully complete locating the witch formation.

Only then did Emelia take out a dozen or so high-grade magic crystals from her bosom and carefully placed them inside the energy centers of the witch array.

After pinching the moment, Emelia finally activated the witch array.

A faint glow of energy flowed out from the energy hubs, following the pre-drawn guiding witch lines inside the witch array. Everywhere it passed, all the sorcery symbols, all the magic nodes, and all the sorcery lines were illuminated one by one.

An almost imperceptible faint witchcraft wave began to stir within the cavern, then penetrated through the stone walls and rock layers, slowly conducting into the distance....

A moment later, it seemed to have received a response from afar, and the Witch Formation was operating more and more frequently.

And from the moment the Sorcerer Formation began to operate, the energy changes here had become impossible to conceal and shield. Across the countless layers of rock walls, a strange roar and roar came faintly, followed by the sound of rock walls collapsing and crumbling.

The rock wall crumbled layer by layer, and the sound of strange roars was getting closer....

Emelia looked down at the positioning sorcery formation, which had been operating to its fullest, and, with a bite, instantly armed herself and rushed into the darkness without looking back.

Whirling down the depths of the secret passageway was the intense roar of sorcery bursts, mixed with the angry roar of fungal giants and the strange sound of cavity ruptures.

And at this emergency moment of life and death, positioning the central position of the witchcraft formation, a humanoid light figure up to 2 meters in height suddenly emerged. There was a whistling sound of energy flowing in the air, and stars of fire elements separated from the void and fell into the humanoid shadow like moths to a flame.

For every element of fire that was incorporated, the body of the humanoid light and shadow was solidified.

Gradually, the humanoid light shadow's eyebrows and eyes became visible, showing a hint of turning from virtual to real!

Seemingly dissatisfied with the speed at which they were gathering their forms like this, Grim's crisp, clear voice was heard in the void.

"This is too slow, come here all of you!"

As a grand and vast spiritual will surfaced in the humanoid light and shadow, the entire cavern space turned dark red, and countless fire elemental particles were extracted from the void by the powerful will and gathered into its humanoid light and shadow like a hundred rivers returning to the sea.

Grim's hands, feet, shoulders, back, chest, abdomen, skull, and the flesh and blood organs in his body all began to spread and grow in an almost transparent manner, and rapidly fused into a whole.

There was a muffled sound.

Grim leaned on his Fire Coral Sorcerer's Staff and stepped out of the Positioning Sorcerer's Formation, and with a single roll of his vast spiritual energy to the four winds, he instantly understood and explored everything within a ten-mile radius.

Within his vast spiritual perception, he was able to clearly 'see' that he was currently in a narrow secret passage of a vast underground maze. And sixty meters ahead, Emelia had transformed into a 'demonic woman' with countless cane tentacles, desperately defending herself from the attacks of several tall fungus giants.

Although Emelia had the title of Magical Lady, but in essence, she was just a plant-based witch that favored tricky tactics. In terms of her tactical strangeness and versatility, she was definitely a rare and good player within a 2nd level witch.

But in terms of a hard frontal confrontation, she was clearly no match for the few fungus giants on the opposite side.

What's more, there was another one inside those fungus giants that had a strength level as high as 3rd rank advanced. If it wasn't for the fact that Gargamel had poured all his heart and soul into this daughter, equipping her with the best sorcery he could scavenge, I'm afraid she would never have survived the moment of Grim's arrival.

Emelia's slender, rope-like cane tentacles frantically surged towards the fungus giant that had broken into the wall, but were broken and shattered by the latter's thick, powerful tentacles' tendrils, and the green juice even flowed all over the floor.

Emelia's petite body lit up with four or five green clusters of light.

With so many sorcery weapons added, Emelia endured the pain and screamed in anger to spawn more and denser tentacles of vines that coiled and entangled into the madly incoming fungus giant.

To win with more, to win with quantity....

Like a magical woman with infinite regenerative powers, Emelia extended her tentacles from her body, blocking the path of several fungus giants. The tentacles were torn and smashed by the other party with a splash of green liquid, but Emelia didn't retreat one step and held on to the secret passage leading to the cavern.

A few of the giants attacked even more ferociously, sensing the increasingly strong energy fluctuations in the depths of the tunnel. The rank 3 giant at the head of the group roared even more, charging directly into the cane formation, moving forward with an almost frantic attitude.

It was futile to fight against a 3rd stage enemy with a 2nd stage body, even with the aid of many sorcery weapons.

Seeing that 3rd rank giant getting closer and closer to Emelia, the thick tentacles of indigo purple and black almost touching her body, a long-awaited gentle male voice finally echoed in her mind.

"Alright, you can rest now, I'll take over the rest of the story!"

It's the Lord of the House!

Suddenly hearing the voice, Emelia's heart relaxed, and the thousands of pains sent back from the end of her body overlapped and instantly engulfed her soul.

Emelia screamed and almost fainted on it.

All the overriding cane tentacles Ug drooped limply, losing their mental control.

The 3rd stage fungus giant that was missing the cane tentacles stalled roared, stepped forward, and smashed Emelia with his huge, thick and powerful tentacles with a whistling wind.

"Even in front of me, you dare to be rude..."

A tall figure appeared in time to grab Emelia who had fallen softly. In his other hand, he held up his wand, but he was able to block the thick tentacle that rammed down.

The fiery red witch staff and the indigo purple-black tentacle held each other in the air, and the place where they met even emitted the sound of flames frying with zzzzzzzzzz.

Ahhh....

The horrible flame burn made the 3rd stage fungus giant painful to say the least, soaring back a few steps to re-stabilize its form this was the only way to seriously look at the other side. And above its softly hanging giant tentacles, a scorching black burn mark was clearly visible.

"Step 4... you're a Step 4!"

The Level 3 Fungus Giant was somewhat insightful after all, and was able to discern his identity by virtue of the fire elemental breath that was overflowing outside of Grim's body. Immediately, its gaze fell on Emelia's body, and its green-gray ugly face suddenly revealed a hint of anger.

"Emelia... you have Emelia's soul breath on you! You're the escaped magic spore princess..."

Grim paid no heed to the other party's fuss and reached out to brush his hand across Emelia's forehead. With a hint of mental energy penetrating, Emelia's intense pain was instantly reduced by half.

"Well, how about keeping this guy or killing him?" Grim asked bluntly.

From the way he sounded, wiping out a 'little' 3rd Order seemed like a very easy and simple task!

"Uncle Elson, will you continue to follow Faunson for evil or will you rejoin me? I will only give you this one chance to choose... "Emelia lifted her beautiful face and landed on that rank 3 fungus giant with an intolerant look in her eyes.

That rank 3 Fungus Giant had a grimace on his face and raised his huge tentacles once again.

"Emelia, don't be hypocritical, when have we of the fungal giant clan ever had true freedom? You shouldn't have come back, so go to hell!"

With that said, the thick tentacles swung down, bringing up a whistling harsh wind even more fierce than the last time.

"Hmph, not knowing how to live..."

Grim grunted, and without seeing how he waved his drink, a pale red elemental boundary popped out to envelop all the fungus giants in the vicinity.

Burning Field....

Such an elemental boundary might not be enough to use against an opponent of the same level, but to be used against a large number of low-level enemies, it was a most terrifying killing weapon.

And the moment the burning field formed, huge flames soared from all the fungus giants, and their entire bodies began to burn violently.

That 3rd stage Fungus Giant was no exception!

The thick tentacles it wielded were just halfway down when it stumbled and fell out, pushed back by a sweeping aura of flame. Just as it steadied itself, the burning field came upon it and its body began to scorch and burn.
