Age of Adepts

Chapter 1214 - Strong Men Compete

Where did the attack come from?

For a moment, the Magic Pod was simply confused by this Red Flame Storm.

It had blocked all of that legendary fire witch's attacks, so where was this sudden red flame storm coming from.

The magic pod shook its body violently as it sprayed a thick, smoke-like poisonous mist from its stalks, squealing and urging its servant to attack the enemy. And its mind was more focused on finding that hidden enemy.

Faced with the many spores and swamp creatures that were rushing in, as well as that Faunson who was riding a 4th level fungus giant, Grim once again escaped from their attack range with the help of a flame jump.

And the first moment he emerged from another area, Grim once again cast a quick spell, guiding a series of crimson fireballs to wildly smash into the magic pods.

The magic pods could only wave their branches and vines ferociously to meet the baptism of fireballs. But it was exactly the same as last time, even after it had knocked away all the fireballs, a terrifying fire sorcery suddenly burst on top of its stalks, igniting half of its body.

The magic pod was not as cunning as a human, but it wasn't stupid either.

With just these two attacks, it quickly determined that the enemy must possess some sort of ability that could make spells invisible. Only the moment the spell was detonated would it know if it had been attacked.

Make the forming spell invisible?

Such an ability was unheard of, but the threat it posed to him was also extremely frightening!

The magic pod could only struggle to drive away Grim, which was only able to extinguish the flames on its body again with the poisonous mist. In just this short period of time, on top of the torso that took up almost half of the hall's space, a number of temporarily indelible black scorch marks appeared on the Magic Pod's torso.

At some of the broken stalks, glistening green fluorescent viscous sap slowly flowed out, filling the entire hall with a fishy and pungent smell.

The excruciating pain of the burning flames tortured the magic pod to death, as a thriving green vine whip and a large green mouth smacked and shattered pieces of the hall floor and stone walls. But the one that was as small in front of it as a mouse in front of a giant elephant darted around inside the hall with a haunting leap of flame, making all its pounces fall short.

As for the servants under its command, except for that Faunson who was able to withstand the aftermath of the violent flames, the rest of the guys all turned into a pile of charcoal one after another, unable to stand up anymore.

The Magic Pod's power was powerful enough, but its weaknesses were so obvious as well!

Unable to move....afraid of fire....

As a powerful demon of the 4th rank, the Demon Pod could not be as afraid of ordinary flames as other swamp creatures. Its strange body with its shimmering metallic luster had a defense as sturdy as a hundred refined steel, but it couldn't protect itself at all against the terrifying golden flames.

Spell Penetration... There was definitely a spell penetration rule within the Flame Law that that damned Legendary Fire Witch had mastered. Otherwise, how could this mere flame possibly damage its body?

By the way, that fire witch has also mastered an ability to make flame sorcery invisible...something that is quite a headache for the magic pod to rush to!

Whenever that fire witch appeared in an area, there were bound to be a number of openly incoming scorching fireballs and one or two powerful 'invisibility' spells.

This also forced the magic pod to twist as hard as it could as soon as Grim attacked, and form an impenetrable defensive net with vines and green branches next to its torso. With any luck, the haphazardly twisted vines and branches would also detonate that invisible sorcery early. That way, the fire damage that brought the main trunk would be much less.

After a few unsuccessful pounces, that Faunson was furious.

It raged as the fungal giant's legs suddenly stuck within the stone floor, and then its forward right tentacle snaked wildly forward growing like a soaring vine.

Grim ducked one time and it wrapped its legs around him.

Grim's wand was raised, and a dozen successive bursting fireballs blocked the pod's pounce, while he himself quickly transformed into a flaming giant, his entire body wrapped in a layer of bursting golden flame.

Farneson's tentacles curling around Grim was the same as curling around a thick pillar of fire that was over ten meters tall.

The two sides were also frantically hurting each other as they continued to contest the force.

As soon as the old vine tentacles scorched and turned to ashes, new vine tentacles grew wildly and entangled Grim's flaming body again. While coiling and entangling, the front ends of the vine tentacles were unceasingly digging and tearing at Grim's body, seemingly looking for a crack to burrow into its body.

Raging golden flames spewed out from Grim's body, and if Faun Sen didn't possess a powerful and incomparable regeneration ability, its right arm would have been reduced to a pile of ashes.

While Grim was attacking Faun Sen with flames, his own body was infested with multiple green spots. This was the result of the enemy's terrible toxin working!

A 4th rank creature worthy of being a 4th rank creature, the toxins it drove could infect even elemental flames... If Grim's physiology and elemental composition weren't already completely different from humans at this point, I'm afraid he wouldn't be able to escape the inevitable end of dying of a poisonous attack!

However, at this moment, the two sides were entangled, the flame power and poison power constantly impacting each other, devouring and annihilating... The resulting elemental damage brought to both sides was also very terrifying.

If it were any other 4th rank, it would never be easy to engage in this kind of lose-lose magic attack with the enemy.

However, Faun Sen, as a senior servant of the Magic Pod, had clearly put the other party's life above his own safety!

Take the opportunity to Grim was entangled in Farneson difficult to get out of the opportunity, the magic pod shake body, a few times green branches condensed into a terrifying hand palm, but all the Grim knew the opportunity to barely dodge.

In the end, there was no way to dodge, Grim could only explode his body, leaving the part of the flaming body that was entangled by Farneson behind, while the rest flew out and re-condensed his body in another area.

Although this got rid of Farneson's entanglement, Grim had lost nearly 7% of his flame body.

This 7% would have taken Grim only half a quarter of an hour to make up for it with the assistance of the Heart of Rule. But now, in the middle of a fierce and dangerous battle, where would Grim be able to find a way to make up for this 7% loss of power!

There was a muffled thud.

The magic pod's giant palm slapped down, slapping the part of Grim's body that was left behind, along with Farneson's right arm, into a puddle of pattering, sticky blood sauce. Under the sweep of its mighty power, the 7% of the flame power was instantly annihilated, never to be seen again.

After Grim once again emerged from somewhere else and re-condensed its body, it could be clearly seen that a thin layer of the thickness of the golden flames around its body was missing.

With Farneson's efforts being able to achieve such a result, the magic pod was undoubtedly one of the happiest.

But where did it know that at the moment Grim had just broken his tail and escaped, the small mass of his back projected on the floor did not disappear with it, but quietly merged into the shadows beneath Farneson's body.

The violent power of the three parties stirred and gyrated in that small area, and also initially affected Faunson's mental perception. Otherwise, with the mental power of a 4th ranked strongman, it would be impossible for all the tiny energy changes occurring within a hundred meters of his body to be hidden from his all-seeing mental perception.

And after all, Faun Sen was only a 3rd stage Demonic Spore, yet he forcefully took control of a 4th stage fungus giant.

Such a parasitic combination, although it was endowed with powerful flesh* body regeneration and terrifying racial abilities, it was clearly not comparable to a genuine 4th ranked powerhouse.

At the very least, Faun Sen was undoubtedly only at a 3rd-rank level in terms of spiritual senses!

Grim, who had lost some of his strength, obviously couldn't attack as brazenly as before.

Grim swam desperately to avoid both the full-field attacks of the magic pods and Farneson's bizarre vine twine. Thus each time he showed himself, there was very little time left for him to attack.

The slightest hesitation or pause could be left in place by the madly rushing Faun Sen, thus inviting a terrifying strike from the magic pod.

In addition to this physical* attack, the magic pod was actually constantly trying to isolate and spread parasitic spores that were difficult to identify with the naked eye. Unfortunately, such an attack method obviously couldn't conceal itself from the chip's perception and scanning, and just a small flame protection blocked all the parasitic spores out of its body.

All spores were afraid of fire... As long as they came close to Grim's side, they would be incinerated by the invisible flame shield, not touching his body in the slightest.

It was precisely because this kind of invincible parasitic attack was completely ineffective that the magic pods could only gnash their teeth and fight Grim in such a clumsy manner.

The two sides fought in the 'tiny' hall, not even caring about how terrifying the damage their attacks would cause to the surrounding area. Such unscrupulous behavior also ended up bringing a terrible calamity to this Demonic Spore Sanctuary that was unimaginable to outsiders!

The earth is trembling, the rocks are crumbling....

Layer after layer of the dungeon crumbled and toppled in the violent shaking, a stone beam collapsed, a tunnel and a secret room were swallowed up by the collapsed boulders... The entire Magic Spore Sanctuary gradually turned into a ruin in the fierce battle, incidentally swallowing up hundreds of thousands of lives of the Magic Spore clan.

However, unconcerned with all the changes outside, the three 4th rank still fought in the Hall of Magic Spores, trying their best to inflict as much damage as possible on the enemy.

Finally, taking advantage of a delay in dodging a falling boulder, Grim's flaming body was once again imprisoned in place by Farneson's wildly growing cane tentacles.

Seeing such a great opportunity to attack, the magic pod couldn't care less about whether or not it would accidentally injure that Faunson, and immediately swung its thick torso, swirling with a whistling, fierce wind, and attacked Grim wildly.

And Grim, who was coiled and entangled above the ground, raised his head and looked at the huge palm that was whistling at him, and a wry smile suddenly appeared on his face....
