Age of Adepts

Chapter 1238 - Meeting of the Strong

The Blueberry Manor that was still singing and dancing was now silent.

With the rise of the sorcery mask, those human servants one by one paled and hid inside the building in panic. The sorcerers who existed as guests flew up into the sky and hid within the mask to gaze at the huge lake in front of the manor.

There, a huge flame floated in mid-air, fighting against two strange black and white auras....

The two sides moved rapidly across the lake, flames and auras colliding and intermingling with each other.

Each contact could shake the void, enveloping half of the lake in a terrifying sea of fire.

However, no matter how fierce and violent the flames were, they couldn't overwhelm the existence of the black and white aura, and where the aura shone, the sea of fire crumbled and the flames crumbled. No matter what form the flames encountered the aura, they would be crushed into scattered streams of fire, causing the entire lake to pour over the terrifying flames.

As a relative or subordinate of Olivia, the sorcerers present were naturally familiar with the pair of black and white auras. However, many of them were strangers to the golden flames that gathered and dispersed invisibly.

The few rank 3 sorcerers floating in mid-air could not help but focus their attention on the strange sorcerer hiding under the thick black robe beside them, and then turned to a handsome young male sorcerer.

Towne, he was the one fellow in the group who had the most trust from Lord Olivia.

Feeling the burning gazes of the crowd, young Towne couldn't help but smile bitterly, "All I know is that the one Lord invited tonight is that legendary fire wizard Grim from the middle of the continent. There's no idea as to why they're fighting... Looking at the meaning, the two sides should just be sparring rather than actually fighting!"

"Grim? I seem to have heard that name before...it's quite famous in the middle of the country!"

"Well, I've heard that too. Haha, I've also heard that this Grim Sorcerer only took over 200 years to advance to the 4th rank... Those guys in the central part of the country even dared to create such ridiculous rumors in order to earn some face!"

"Yeah, yeah, just those wimps in the middle are worthy of being compared to Olivia-sama...huh?"

They were all elite sorcerers of the Association, and had many ways to find out about other regions. Unfortunately, they were too impressed by the weakness of the past style of Scattered Tallinn to believe the 'news' they had heard.

Listening to the snide remarks of the crowd, the lone Worm Wizard Billis raised his head and looked at the crowd through the shadows under his hood.

There were a total of seven 3rd Order Association Wizards.

Based on the scent of insignificant power emanating from their bodies, there were only one or two that could alert Billis. As for the other few, if they didn't restrict the way they fought and fought one-on-one, Billis had the confidence and certainty to devour them all.

Therefore for the arrogance and overbearing in their words and mannerisms, Billis had a heartfelt disgust and hatred. If this wasn't the enemy's territory, he would have wanted to fight at any cost, to show these ignorant Association Wizards the ferocity of the Central Wizards.

The few Association Shamans didn't care about Billis' cold attitude, and continued to talk and ridicule themselves.

Until an older middle-aged sorcerer stretched out his hand and cast a sorcery spell before exclaiming in horror, "3000 degrees... the remnants of their power have reached 3000 degrees!"

"What? It can't be...if it really was 3000 degrees, we'd have been leveled here by the aftermath of the battle..."

"Perhaps they were all able to restrain their power...you didn't see all the remnants of the attack spill out of that lake."

Several 3rd rank wizards clearly didn't believe that a central wizard could fight their own lord, and cast spells to examine the energy levels in the distance.

"Remnant edge 3116 degrees..."

"4500 degrees in the core..."

"The instant their powers collided, I detected an energy level of 5700 degrees..."

As one item of data was reported, several people in the arena couldn't help but break out in cold sweat, feeling for the first time that the sorcery mask in front of them was also a bit too thin.

Although the situation, both sides of the battle were restraining their power, not letting the after-effects of the battle spread beyond the surface of the lake. But who would be able to consistently maintain such a tense and intense battle!

In case any of the witches got into a fight or couldn't stop their momentum, with their terrifying battle strength, it would be a matter of minutes for them to wipe out this Blueberry Manor.

Coincidentally, a few 3rd ranked witches began to wind up their sorcery protection.

The Towne Sorcerer who was in charge of the Blueberry Manor also slowly turned the Snake Eye Magic Ring on his tail finger and began to order the 2nd rank Sorcerers below him, who were still watching, to immediately organize and evacuate the witches in the arena.

Seeing how nervous several 3rd rank witches had become, the rest of the witches immediately realized the danger of the situation and took refuge inside the building, opening all the protective witch formations one by one, which made them feel a little more at ease.

............

The battle on the lake was still as dangerous as ever.

Both sides of the battle had already fought a hint of real fire and had even been forced to resort to some covert means.

Grim transformed into a mass of gathering and dispersing invisible flames, always surrounding Olivia's side, attacking her original body with a scorching fireball or a pillar of fire that rose from the sky. Thousands of meters away, a powerful centaur formed by a black mist condensed into a powerful centaur was madly attacking with the looming Shadow Demon.

As for that Olivia, there was a strange aura of black and white lingering around her body, one after another. These auras could be large or small, thick or thin, and even the gravity attribute could be instantly deflected.

Under her fine and subtle control, a gravity aura could either attract or repel, and its attributes could even be reversed and transformed more than ten times within half a finger. As long as they were caught in her gravitational aura, even a metal body as solid as steel would be squeezed, stretched, or twisted into various strange shapes in the terrifying magnetic polar shifts.

Not to mention Grim's previous flesh and blood body!

So after experiencing the terrifying effects of the gravity disorder, Grim transformed himself into a body of flame, and then protected his body with the golden flames rushing out of the Heart of Rules.

As expected, with the flame law guarding him, Olivia's gravity aura could no longer act directly on his body.

The battle between the two sides soon extended to a confrontation of laws!

Olivia's Law of Gravity was clearly above Grim's Law of Flame, but Grim was clearly higher than Olivia in terms of the degree of resolution of the Law.

Flame Augmentation, Flame Strength, Flame Penetration, Flame Invisibility, Flame Blitz, Fire Ease, Fire Toughness... The seven Laws of Flame were used alternately, and each strike brought that Olivia an almost new experience of the Laws.

After the other party had become a little more comfortable with the frequency and effect of their attacks, Grim quickly paired up several of the Flame Laws again, giving the Flame Sorcery a strange power.

Honestly, for the first time in her life, Olivia found flames to be such a nasty, abhorrent element of magic!

With Flame Penetration, Olivia's self-righteous elemental resistance became a set-up; with Flame Blitz, any tiny bit of flame burn could inflict terrible damage on her; with Flame Invisibility, even Olivia had to keep an eye on every elemental change around her; with Fire Easiness, Olivia's idea of trading wounds for wounds with Grim became a joke; with Fire Toughness, any bit of flame that got on her body became so tough that it was hard to clean them up quickly....

After realizing the power of the Grim Flame Law, Olivia put away the hint of arrogance within her and began to face her opponent squarely, and swiftly took out her first card.

A centaur essence that was somewhere between a solid and a virtual body!

This 4th level Centaur Essence was able to freely switch between solid and virtual bodies, using the virtual body to dodge the enemy's physical attacks, then quickly converting to solid to stun the enemy with the terrifying 'War Trample', taking the opportunity to launch a violent and ferocious melee attack.

If Grim was unprepared, an Olivia with infinitely changing combat tactics coupled with a rampaging centaur essence might as well have knocked him out of the sky alive.

But the good news was that the other side had helpers, and so did Grim!

The Shadow Demon that dodged out of the shadow behind him was able to resist the crazy attack of the Centaur's spirit in no time, both sides dashed left and right on the lake, dodging and fleeing non-stop, fighting with each other.

Seeing that the other party used a summoned creature, Grim was no longer polite, and threw out a 4th-grade Demon Puppet crystal, quickly summoning a towering 4th-grade Molten Fire Giant that was 12 or 13 meters tall.

Although this molten fire giant only had the strength of a rank 4 beginner, but with that huge mass falling straight into the lake, it was still able to reveal a small half of its upper body, head and arms to attack Olivia. And the violent flames on its body and the lake's water crossed paths together, causing the entire lake to boil with a gurgle.

The originally huge number of aquatic creatures in the lake suffered a catastrophe this time, and one by one, they floated half-cooked and steamed above the surface of the water, and then turned into a small fireball in Grim's terrifying burning field that enveloped the sky and earth, burning wildly.

With her gravity aura, Olivia, who roamed freely around the lake and the sky, snowed and whined in pain as a series of flaming sorcery blows struck her. A gravity aura hovering around her side blocked all the attacks, but the pain caused by the crumbling flames landing on her body still made her brows clench.

Olivia's anger was so great that she stretched out her hands flat, and countless gravitational auras the size of a basin whizzed away, instantly smashing the immobile molten fire giant into a sieve. The gravitational aura passed through the body, not being able to be blocked by those molten rock shields and flaming shields at all.

Where the gravity aura flew by, the forming fire elements were strangled by the disordered gravity into scattered streamers, also leaving a huge hole in the body of the molten fire giant.

This Stage 4 Primary Molten Fire Giant debuted for no more than half a quarter of an hour before it crumbled to pieces and died in its prime!
