Age of Adepts

Chapter 1241 - Overlooking the Tower

Just like several other regions, the Coven also possessed a vast expanse of land.

Only in terms of geographical size and population resources, this land was clearly not as rich and vibrant as the middle of the continent.

Flying high in the sky and looking down on the land, everything on the ground became small and blurry.

Inside the Association's territory, large tracts of primeval forest still remained, where wolves and tigers roamed, and although not as terrifying as the Black Forest, it was full of unpredictable risks.

The human settlement, on the other hand, was the size of a fingernail from such a height, and was scattered near a white tower. The towers were slender and towering, like sticks plunged straight into the earth from afar, and were still filled with a dizzying array of strange colors.

As Grim stood pinned against the side of the ship surveying the earth below him, the alchemic wizard named Horner came to his side.

"There is the Northern Collar, and the coldest area inside the entire territory of the Association..." said Horner, pointing his finger to the north and describing it in a tone filled with an air of exclamation.

Looking far to the north, Grim could clearly see the dark green forest beneath him growing darker and darker as it stretched to the north. And in the far north, snow-covered mountains and forested seas could still be seen vaguely.

"To the east, about thirteen thousand miles away, is the raging Black Reef Sea... and to the south, is the terrifying Black Forest that stretches for over a hundred thousand miles." Horner said calmly, "Tens of thousands of years ago, more than a dozen wizards came from the middle of the country and set up the first human camp here. After all these years of hard work and life-and-death struggles, this is the land that we Association Sorcerers laid down, making it the cradle and paradise for breeding the Sorcerer community. For this, every one of us Association Shamans is proud of it!"

Grim was naturally familiar with the history of the development of the Sorcerer's Association.

However, at this moment, hearing an Association Wizard recount it again in a divine and ** tone, Grim was still able to comprehend the ups and downs of the process and the hard-won results now.

"Your Excellency look into the eyes of the world! Any Sorcerer's Gauntlet is affiliated with the Sorcerer's Guild." A female voice was heard next to her, and that Olivia also stepped out of the cabin to the sides of the two men, "Witch families are not allowed to build witch towers here, and all witch towers can only be the private property of the Association. Any Witch Family that violates the rules will be expelled from the Association's territory!"

"In this respect, the Association and your Scattered Tallinn are diametrically opposed!"

At Olivia's contemptuous comment, Grim had a helpless grin on his face.

Any system and mode of existence had its reason for existence.

The middle of the continent was the first human territory opened and built in the Wizarding World.

The land there was fertile and materialistic, it also possessed a large population, and coupled with the vast territory, it was easy to give birth to a small wizard family that could support itself. In the absence of powerful sorcerers, ordinary sorcerer families were able to confront high ranking sorcerers with their witch towers, also making unification in the middle of the continent extremely difficult!

So for tens of thousands of years, the Central Scattered Tallinn Region of the continent had always been a scattered mess, and no one had ever been able to unite all the witch families into one true force.

The three major witch organizations in the west, north, and east were large forces established by some of the central wizards who had migrated out only after going through a lot of ups and downs.

Due to the difficult start, they were able to embrace the group, and with their overall strength, they were able to fight with the terrifying demons inside the Black Forest bit by bit for the land to survive.

Such hard trials and tribulations had also trained their bodies and minds.

In terms of battle power alone, the quality of the witches cultivated by the three major witch organizations was far above the witches in the middle of the continent. This was one of the main reasons why the Association Sorcerers had historically looked down on the Central Sorcerers!

In the last few thousand years, the territories of the three major wizarding organizations have expanded. The middle of the continent was the only one that remained intact, with no too obvious territorial expansion.

It could also be seen from all of these aspects that the life of the Central Continent's witches had indeed lived a *very* comfortable life, and had become so comfortable that they had become somewhat unproductive.

The territory in the middle of the continent was too huge, and it was divided into more than thirty geographical spaces with very different styles and completely different geographical locations. The Sorcerer Association's territory was only about 1/5 of the central part of the continent, which was also divided into a dozen different regions, but the actual control of these regions was still firmly in the hands of the Association.

And the Association's way of controlling the local area was a tall and majestic tower of witches!

All of the Sorcerer's Gauntlets belonged to the Association, and any Association Sorcerer or Apprentice who chose to travel through the Association's territory was free to visit each Sorcerer's Gauntlet and receive the necessary supplies and support there.

It was because of this 'impartial' learning and cultivation atmosphere that many apprentices and sorcerers had a strong sense of trust and belonging to the Association.

As they traveled across this vast expanse of land to learn, they represented the Sorcerer's Association and the will of all the Gauntlet. At this point in time, the existence of the Sorcerer Families was extremely small, and had even degraded to the point where they were compared to the human noble class.

Thus, the witches in the eastern part of the continent, their first identity was first as Association Witches, and then as members of a certain family. And what they were proud of was often just the former, with the latter only used to identify their origins.

At this moment, facing the two proud Association Sorcerers, Grim could only helplessly smile bitterly.

After all, on this point of honor and belonging, Scattered Tarin couldn't even beat a horse to the Sorcerer's Association!

...................

Seven days later.

After a long journey that spanned tens of thousands of miles of land, the floating airship finally entered the core of the Association's territory, the Province of Izar.

As the main residence of the Wizard Association, Izal Province was also the largest and most well-stocked region in the eleven territories. And with its dense population and numerous settlements, it was far from the cold and austere atmosphere of the few regions on the edges.

After the floating airship drilled out of the forest and sea, it was met by a tower of top-notch witches. These wizard towers stood in a ring shape, wrapping the main living area of humans in Izhar Province, making the place extremely safe and peaceful.

In the center of all the towns and settlements, a particularly tall Wizard Tower pierced through the clouds and stood straight up, giving every living being who witnessed its existence a special sense of insignificance.

The 'Overlook Tower' at the very core of the Sorcerer's Association!

Even if Grim had never been here himself, he had read descriptions and praises of this 'Overlook Tower' in many books on witchcraft.

It was a temple of witchcraft that gathered the wisdom and skills of all witches....

It was a mysterious tower that held the dreams and ideas of thousands of witches....

It was a wizard's spine that held up the majestic world....

Compared to the Silver Alliance's Sky City, the Overlook Tower was not only not inferior in the slightest, but was instead inspiring and motivating many of the Association's witches with a different kind of sentiment.

Many witches were rumored to have a magical light gate on the top floor of the Overlook Tower. After all the Association Shamans had surpassed the 4-step threshold, they would reluctantly step through that light gate and go to the Outland World to find their new territory and shelter.

Therefore, that light gate was also given a certain mysterious and mysterious color by many shamans.

It was as if any shaman who was fortunate enough to pass through that Gate of Light would be able to successfully cross the 4th step and become a member of the high and mighty Shaman!

Of course, such rumors couldn't be entirely trusted, but when Grim witnessed the tower with his own eyes, his eyes still couldn't help but fall through the thick clouds to the upper level of the tower, secretly trying to figure out the appearance and elegance of the light door.

The vast majority of floating airships could only land near the outer witch towers, and could not penetrate into the core area. Among the many floating airships, only a few of them were able to pass through the cordon of the outer witch tower and fly directly to the majestic tower in the central area.

In response to the questioning glance that Grim shot his way, that Horner smiled and explained, "There is a no-fly zone near the association's headquarters, where ordinary airships or flying mounts are not allowed to fly. However, the association elders have the privilege of being able to fly directly to the Overlook Tower, so we'll save ourselves some trouble in changing mounts..."

Grim nodded in understanding as he listened.

The floating airship floated leisurely through the sky, and the vast farmlands, a human town and village were left behind one by one like molds etched into the black earth.

Soon, that majestic tower would be close at hand!

The closer one got, the more one could feel the majesty and oppression of the giant tower coming towards one's face.

Finally, the floating airship slowly descended into the sky at an air port thirty miles away from the tower.

A moment later, a few people switched to a black carriage and quickly made their way to the entrance of the tower amidst the clattering noise of wheels.

Billis the Worm Wizard also rode with Grim.

Suddenly in a new region, Worm Witch Billis also seemed especially hyper and restless.

His body huddled in the seat was writhing and contorting under his black robes, quite as excited as if he had been given a new toy.

Billis turned his head to look at the pale red fluorescence clinging to the perimeter of the carriage, knowing that the area was within the envelope of the Grim Flame Boundary, before asking him reassuringly, "My lord, who won the battle between you and that witch?"

"Didn't lose or win, interrupted by someone else!" Grim said bluntly.

"Well... you should always have an estimate! Who will win... "Billis' admiration and respect for Grim had also reached an unprecedented level since he had advanced to the 3rd level. Thus also appearing particularly concerned and resolute about this question of victory or defeat.

"Let's split it in half!" Grim's attitude doesn't matter: "If it's just a matter of splitting the win or lose, we'll be at half strength. But if it's a matter of life and death, my chances of winning are a little higher, at 70%. However, the opponent must have some unused tricks in his hands as well, and I can't escape being seriously injured..."

Listening to Grim's party's comments, Billis finally licked his lips in satisfaction.
