Age of Adepts

Chapter 1244 - Words Behind the Scenes

"Welcome...welcome..."

An old-faced wizard with a wisp of goatee under his jaw, his eyes slightly closed, and a strange essence shining inside was the first to welcome him.

"I am Domnall, and I welcome His Excellency Grim!"

The rest of those wizards also jawed and nodded their heads this way.

The black-mouthed, black-faced Olivia was also mixed in, but didn't react to Grim's arrival.

Grim rushed forward and bowed to the Domnall wizard, still holding the courtesy of his junior. It wasn't that Grim was too humble, but rather that he had a deeper understanding of the old sorcerer's background.

Domnall, the Vice President of the Sorcerer's Association, presided over most of the day-to-day affairs of the association. And yet, he had occupied this position for as long as 1200 years without making almost any unnecessary mistakes.

As such, there were numerous rumors about him.

The most convincing of them was that this Domnall was most likely the soul part of a certain great sorcerer of the association. He was forced to stay in the Sorcerer World for the long term development of the Sorcerer Association and became a resident Sorcerer who presided over the daily affairs.

This also freed most of the Association's witches, who were able to devote all their energy and time to sharpening and improving their personal strength. The deeper benefit was that the Sorcerer Association was always under the control of a specific group, and would not be reduced to an arena of struggle for individual 'ambitious' individuals.

Domnall was quite satisfied with the respect shown by Grim, though. Thus dragging him around the hall without stopping, he took the trouble to introduce him to the sorcerers present.

Geraldine, a 4th level elemental wizard, male.

This was a powerful fellow wearing a white robe and uniform, his entire body had transformed into a strange light element... His eyebrows, his skin, his flesh and blood, his bones were all close to transparent, and his internal organs as well as his blood circulation were all visible. Even the light elements surging within his body were clearly visible, and one could see how they interacted and coupled with the flesh and blood texture.

Since the other party had chosen such a bizarre light elemental form, they must have been greedy for that small increase in their battle power after their body was energized. However, there were pros and cons to this method of complete body energization, otherwise Grim wouldn't be so obsessed with his human form.

Ems, 4th rank Bloodline Witch, male.

This is a strange guy with blue hair and blue eyes, with a strange magical aura overflowing on the periphery of his body. Since the other party had converged his aura breath, Grim couldn't estimate the specific effect of the aura based on visual inspection alone.

However, according to the chip's speculation, it should be that the magical beast's breath that he had fused was too strong, so that it was unable to completely cover up the outward force field radiation from the party.

Nef, a 4th rank Bloodline Witch, female.

This was a strange witch with almost no hair, bald head, no eyebrows, and clean smooth skin, but inside her narrow eyes were a pair of green vertical pupils. When the pupils zoomed in, a cold, fierce and frightening atmosphere arose.

The other party must have possessed some kind of different snake bloodline, which can be tasted from her cold breath. However, there were currently thousands of known snake bloodlines, with nearly a hundred of them capable of reaching or surpassing the 4th stage. I'm afraid that it's not a simple matter to truly understand the object of the other's fusion.

........

........

With the addition of Horner and Grim, this hall easily housed eighteen 4th stage wizards inside. This was a horrifying and terrifying thing to place in the middle of the continent.

But here, it seemed so natural and casual!

And while Grim was motionlessly recording and gathering the basic information of these 4th level witches, how could these guys with the status of association elders not be silently peeking at Grim's information.

With the mental network established by Tallinn La Fartus, the Association Elders present were able to block out Grim's mental energy and communicate silently through a covert means.

"Olivia, you've just fought him. How is it, what level of strength has he reached?"

"Yeah, Olivia, that guy's been fighting you for so long that it should be considered a flag, right?"

Hearing the 'ridicule' of several of her companions, Olivia's face became darker and darker, and she couldn't help but hiss in anger.

"Schreiber, if you're as good with your hands as you are with your mouth, go pick a fight with that guy! He's a fire witch too, and you're a fire witch too, let's see which one of you has the more powerful flame... Campbell, you bastard, don't think that your double-killing technique can overpower me. If you're able, challenge that fire witch too and see what happens!"

Seeing Olivia's violent rage and near disorientation, there were more guys flooding in from the mind link as well.

"How did I hear that this Grim guy wasn't even 300 years old when he advanced to level 4, is that true?" Finally, a tinny baritone voice suddenly asked the question.

"I know that!" The bloodline wizard called Eames said loudly, "I visited the central part of the country some time ago, and by the way, I also learned about this Grim Wizard. According to the information he has made public to the public, the first time he was revealed to the public was the moment he was promoted to 1st rank wizard, and according to now it's only three hundred and eighty-seven years ago."

"Where is his birthplace? Does he have any relatives?" Someone asked coldly.

"That information is nowhere to be found! It was said that when he was promoted, the family resource point he was in had a bit of an accident, and all the apprentices, including the resident tower witch, died unexpectedly. Only he, a witch, and a worm witch managed to survive, and all of them advanced to wizard..."

"Oh, an accident... I'm afraid it's nothing less than another something related to the blood sacrifice!"

"We've already communicated with that Sarupo family on that point, and have obtained as much first-hand information as possible. Indeed, at that time, this Grim was collected by that resident tower wizard from a nearby village or town, the details of which are no longer available. That resident tower sorcerer tried to use the blood sacrifices of all his apprentices to advance to the 2nd rank, but unfortunately failed and instead made three of his apprentices whole..."

"Failed? Not necessarily! In my opinion, it should be this Grim who has played the resident tower wizard with a chess move!"

"Promoted to 1st rank three hundred and eighty-seven years ago...promoted to 2nd rank three hundred and sixteen years ago...promoted to 3rd rank two hundred and thirty-two years ago...ninety-four years ago Advancing to the 4th rank... If we were to pinpoint this time, he should be exactly three hundred years old when he advances to the 4th rank."

There was a sudden silent silence within the Heart Link, and many witches frowned deeply.

Although the speed of advancement couldn't be completely linked to one's personal battle power, the fact that the other party was able to emerge alone in the middle of the continent was a side display of his remarkable talent as a sorcerer. Moreover, judging from the other party's performance after advancing to Level 4, it seemed that this was not the end of it either, still maintaining an awe-inspiring rate of advancement.

Of course, it wasn't the first time they had encountered such a demon-like advancement guy.

More than a thousand years ago, the Sarubo Wizard who had risen in flames in the middle of the continent wasn't also so strong and so domineering. Unfortunately, despite his outstanding talent, he was unable to withstand the secret containment and obstruction of the three major sorcerer organizations, and was eventually unable to unify the Scattered Earth Tallinn, and could only leave the sorcerer world with a gloomy promotion to rank 5.

Now that guy had become a Level 6 Grand Sorcerer, and was also making a name for himself outside the domain. It was a pity that the Sarubo family he left behind inside the Sorcerer World had only been strong for 300 to 400 years before it declined again.

Of course, the biggest reason for this was that Sarupo Grand Sorcerer's excessive demand for control of the family's resources, which affected the family's subsequent development. He personally was able to successfully advance from 5th rank to 6th rank, but the family he left behind had been sucked dry of nourishment, and there was a clear fault line of high ranking sorcerers.

If he had sucked less blood and properly fed the family's descendants, it wouldn't have been the case that there wasn't even a sitting 4th rank wizard within the family, and it had become a medium family that could be bullied.

"It only took 300 years to advance to 4th rank, and then another 80 years to stabilize the spirit. Now his battle power has even reached the standard of advanced 4th rank... This Grim is not to be underestimated!" This time it was Blackhill, a powerful bloodline sorcerer with a steady strength over Olivia, who made a stand.

"Olivia, don't be disgruntled! I know you still have means hidden that you haven't shown, but this Grim is definitely hiding more than you. If it really comes down to a fight to the death, you'll have to thank God for a forty percent chance of winning!"

If the Torturing Witch Olivia was able to securely enter the top ten of the Association Elders, then this Blackhill was a super powerhouse that was definitely securely in the top five.

And naturally, no one would doubt his words anymore.

A guy who was able to successfully suppress and abuse the Witch Olivia was probably qualified for the title of super strong.

If a guy like this was allowed to stir up trouble in the middle of the continent... everyone's faces were somewhat heavy.

"Then how should we treat this Grim...should we try to pull him in or try to suppress him?" Someone asked softly.

If this Grim was just an ordinary sorcerer, they naturally wouldn't have to make a fuss over it. But if the other party was truly super strong, then the group's Scattered Earth Tallinn was definitely a cave of fortune for it.

"Over the thousand years I've been in charge of the Sorcerer's Association, I've seen countless Sorcerer geniuses or pride of the heavens. But these thousand years have passed, and the three major sorcerer organizations are still the three major sorcerer organizations, yet no fourth power has ever emerged. Why?" Seeing that the crowd had some doubts, that Domnall Vice President couldn't help but chuckle softly in a low voice.

"That's because their roots are too shallow! A 4th rank superpower wants to support the middle of the continent? Let's talk about this when he becomes an 8th rank wizard!"

I can't help but laugh loudly.
