Age of Adepts

Chapter 1268 - Fire and Ice

Temple of Ice, Mystic High Platform.

Starling Tulas was still hard at work studying the various mysterious and bizarre patterns engraved on it, but halfway through this work it had to abort temporarily.

It couldn't be helped, that old dragon was back!

The expected battle between the Fireman and the Old Dragon didn't happen, or happened so briefly that Tulas was blocked on top of the tower by the Old Dragon who rushed back before he could find the true entrance.

Seeing the cold bone dragon Nax, who had broken through the fog and reappeared before his eyes, Starling Tulas was all a bit distracted.

This old dragon was simply too miserable!

After being forcibly transformed from an Ice Dragon into an Ice Bone Dragon, Nax's body's scales and flesh had all disappeared, leaving behind only the steel bones and huge, exaggerated flag spear-like bone spurs.

In between the blue-gray dragon bones, membranes, and bone cracks, there was filled with blue bright and blinding cold freezing air. The blue cold power filled the bone dragon's chest cavity and abdomen as well as the skull, and also condensed into a piece of strange ice flower symbols that swirled up and out on the surface of the body.

A layer of transparent blue ice crystals wrapped around every inch of bone on the body of the bone dragon, want to attack the body of the bone dragon, the first needs to break through the body of the cold ice force field, the second needs to break through the layer of ice crystal protection.

Only by breaking through these two basic layers of defense would it be possible to extend the attack over the Bone Dragon's body!

And in this chilly Ice Temple, it was as if Nax possessed endless power, able to use that terrifyingly harsh cold power extravagantly.

This was its lair, and its home turf!

In this Temple of Ice, it was impossible for any rank 4 creature to defeat Nax, the cold bone dragon with the backing of the Ancient Casket of Winter.

But there were exceptions to every rule!

The only thing that could defeat a Transcendent Sacred Artifact was another Transcendent Sacred Artifact!

The old dragon that didn't dare to bring the Casket of Severe Winter with it and could only endlessly draw power from it was suddenly defeated against Grim, who had two super-ranked sorcery weapons in his hands, and naturally, he was instantly defeated.

Terrible golden flames were bursting on the old dragon's body, and no matter how much the old dragon pounced and brought together the cold Qi, it could not dispel them. The golden flames and blue cold Qi were wildly intermingling and clashing within its body, triggering a riot of almost all the energy within the old dragon's body.

The once elegant, arrogant, divine, and mighty Frostbone Dragon Nax was now half flame and half ice. The two strange forces of law used its body as a battlefield, using its energy and life as fuel, fighting against each other madly.

And every time they clashed, what they consumed was Nax's most relentless life force....

The frost-bone dragon Nax was burned by the fire and could hardly see, stumbling all the way back to the mysterious high platform.

Now, it was in dire need of the help of the Ancient Box of Harsh Winter.

Only the pure and abundant power of winter inside could quench the stubborn damn flame on its dragon body. However, it rushed back to the vicinity of the high platform and immediately saw the damned star spirit that was trying to break the amulet formation.

Nax was almost going crazy.

Although it had suffered heavy damage from the Flame Law, it still had a great divine power and a powerful and unparalleled Dragon Language magic, so how could it fear an unimpressive 'thief'!

With a large mouth, a cloud of strange dragon breath intertwined with ice and fire struck the tile-blue starlight.

Damn it, how did this old dragon come back so fast....

As he spat under his breath, Starling Tulas's pyloric energy flashed within his body, quickly condensing several pyloric shields in front of him to block the scorching icy cold dragon's breath that swept against him.

If flames and cold alone were nothing, this kind of shield constructed from psionic energy was able to perfectly defend against any elemental magic particles. But the two types of law power attached to the dragon's breath were the most terrifying.

They clung to the shield with the scorching flames and the incomparably cold dragon's breath, tangling and fighting with each other while frantically destabilizing the Pylori.

Several Pylori shields failed to hold out until the end of the dragon's breath before they exploded into brilliant fireworks with a crisp explosion.

In the next moment, the old dragon's scorched black maw opened wide, crashing through the fireflies in the sky and viciously biting down on Starling's bizarrely beautiful blue cloud-like body.

Damn it, it was the power of the dual-attribute law, still so bizarrely ice and fire....

Starling Tulas didn't even have time to curse, and with a flicker its body leveled off a hundred meters, avoiding the terrifying maw that came down on its head.

But as soon as its body emerged, the old dragon's equally charred and huge tail appeared in front of it with a whistle of fierce wind through the mist.

After all, this was Naxx's home turf, and the slightest energy change or disturbance within the Temple of Ice could not be hidden from its ears. So unwilling to leave the high platform too far away, the Turas that flashed a little closer immediately suffered a second strike from the old dragon.

This time Starling Tulas was no longer able to react.

The thick and long tail of the dragon crushed several newly emerged psionic shields and smacked Turas's strange, cloud-like body.

There was no sound of bones bursting, flesh and blood bursting, the blue mass of light condensed purely from the Void Cloud, along with the nodes of starlight within, were all broken apart by this terrifying force.

The blue cluster instantly disappeared.

When it reappeared it was already located five hundred meters away in the depths of a mist.

It was only after a difficult period of assembling and combining that the star cluster was able to coalesce and form again. However, the nodes of starlight that constructed the starling's torso had lost more than half of them, while the cloud-like phosphorescent energy that formed the body's periphery had lost nearly thirty percent.

"Dammit dammit... this is a big loss!" Tulas supported his body with great difficulty and hated it, "The psionic circuit was broken and reorganized, and the psionic energy was also lost 30%, I'm afraid such a large loss can't be made up without a hundred years! Damn you old dragon, I'll make you pay..."

As he cursed in a low voice, Tulas adjusted his psionic power.

Soon, countless strange rays of light struck in all directions, and its splendid and bizarre body disappeared into the mist once again.

Having chased away the Starling Tulas, the old dragon Nax rushed back to the high platform. As soon as its breath touched the dense lines of runes on the platform, a strange pattern of light symbols emerged and completely enveloped it.

The old dragon's soul breath interacted with the light patterned rune formation, and after a series of verifications and audits, a glow finally lit up in the center of the high platform, and a tiny opening opened in the smooth ice crystal slab, from which gushed out a frost cold freezing gas that was so thick that it was almost materialized.

As soon as the liquid frost cold freezing gas came into contact with the air outside, it immediately decomposed into a foggy, sticky mist, spreading out in all directions. The old dragon was even more eager to bring its large mouth to the hole, greedily absorbing this liquid harsh cold power.

Strangely enough, as soon as the harsh cold power entered the body, the golden flames burning all over the old dragon's torso instantly extinguished. The blue ice power once again ruled the entire body, and even the dragon bones that had leaked out after the ice crystals broke were re-covered with a layer of ice crystal armor after the cold flowed through them.

However, along with the harsh cold power, there was also an abnormally white breath of death that entered the body.

Their influx immediately caused the old dragon's originally quite exuberant breath of life to become decayed and dull. Many of the blue, delicate dragon bones began to turn black and yellow in a moment, and an undead creature's unique stench of decay immediately wrapped around Nax's soul.

As a once proud and majestic dragon, he had always had an extreme dislike for undead creatures!

But now, for the sake of greater power, it had to give up its pride and glory as a giant dragon and plunge into the embrace of an immortal creature. This was undoubtedly a tremendous shock to the soul of Nax, which had always regarded glory as life!

But worthy of this life and death moment, it couldn't continue to be ambiguous.

Old Dragon Nax fiercely lifted its nose and sniffed, the violent and ferocious force of harsh cold mixed with the shadowy and terrifying force of death frantically washing over its soul, trying to transform it into an appearance suitable for a super-ranked holy weapon.

If there was no external invasion, it could by all means stretch this transformation process out to several hundred years. This way, the pain suffered by the soul origin could be spread out over a long period of time.

But now, it didn't have that much time and could only risk its life to undergo a pre-battle transformation!

In this way, the risk of the transformation failing had increased dramatically.

Old Dragon Nax raised its neck and let out a long, painful and miserable roar, its body that was azure just a moment ago was now decaying and withering away at a rate visible to the naked eye. The power of cold and death was intertwined and entwined within its body, causing its body to turn black and brittle as quickly as if it had been brushed with ink.

This double transformation from flesh* body to soul, the shock to the soul and life source was not something an ordinary person could endure.

Even the old dragon Nax could only wail desperately, venting its unspeakably terrible pain with sonic bursts of miserable dragon roars!

The mists continued to shake.

Near the high platform, a left and a right, two strange figures slowly walked out.

They looked at the dragon that raised its neck on the high platform, and then at each other, their eyes filled with unconcealed greed and vigilance in the face of a strong enemy.

"I didn't expect Your Excellency to hide so deeply..." the Witch Demon Kanganus on the left was the first to speak up, "It seems that that Wisdom Sacrament has been completely subjugated by you, otherwise you couldn't possess such powerful power! "

Its scarlet soul fire swept over the book-shaped witchcraft held in Grim's hand, which was filled with deep regret and endless regret.

If I had known that the Holy Book of Wisdom was so powerful, I would have taken it down that time in the Morienne Plane even if I had fought the fire man to a standstill.

But it was too late to say anything now.

The other side had obviously completely surrendered to the Wisdom Sacred Canon and assimilated it into their own sorcery. It would undoubtedly be very unwise to dwell on the past at this time.
