Age of Adepts

Chapter 1270 - Tulas's Depression

The elements aren't scary, it's the rules!

For higher-ranked creatures, the powerful elemental resistance had brought them to the point where they were already immune to primary elements. Mundane flames, frosts, and hurricanes could no longer shake their bodies, and at most could only cause them a small amount of trouble.

The only thing they feared was the deep application of laws and rules that went straight to the source of power.

These were things they could never avoid, much less reach the level of immunity!

So when the two 4th rank powerhouses made up their minds to fight, the first thing that collided with them was the elemental laws they controlled.

Flame and Phantom Energy!

There was no superiority or inferiority between the two, they were both part of the vast power system of the Multiverse. Therefore, when they collide, the main competition is the degree of comprehension and control of the power laws, as well as the ability to use the power of the laws to leverage the power of the rules....

And in that regard, Grim has the overwhelming advantage of total crushing!

The psionic energy possessed by the Starling Tulas was undoubtedly an exceptionally powerful and special energy, and was very mysterious and bizarre, almost not understood or controlled by the outside world. Therefore, in terms of aggressiveness, Tulas was clearly slightly stronger than Grim.

However, in addition to comparing power itself, the assistance outside of power was also a vastly influential factor.

The high level equipment that Starling Tulas was wearing might not be that bad, but compared to Grim with the dual artifacts in his hands, he was still countless levels inferior. The dual artifacts in Grim's hands, the Fire God Pearl for attack and the Book of Filth and Darkness for defense, gave him even more help in the Battle of Laws that ordinary equipment couldn't compare to.

Therefore, as soon as the power of their Laws collided together, Starling Tulas turned pale and a bad feeling rose within him.

Flame vs. Psionic Energy!

It was the power of the violent and peerless flames that dominated, forcefully crushing the series of Pyloric energy runes that Turas had fired out in a frenzy*, and directly applied the Laws of Flame to its cloud-like body.

The pyloric shield crumbled, the pyloric runes crumbled, and the obscure and dark cloud-like body was ignited by the Law of Flame, burning up instantly. The psionic energy that had been freely controlled by Tulas was now not only unable to protect its consciousness core, but was instead forcibly transformed into fuel by the raging flame laws, causing the flames to burn incessantly, and could no longer be easily extinguished.

Most of Tulas' valiant counterattacks were defeated by the flames of the Law, and a small portion of the remaining damage was shared by the Fire God Pearl, and there were simply very few that could act on Grim's body through the layers of protection.

The strange phantom energy runes that didn't enter Grim's body also forcefully transformed some of the flame energy into a terrifying chaotic energy. However, Grim possessed the Star Beast bloodline, and his physique was naturally able to absorb this chaotic energy collar.

Therefore, the injuries and damages brought to him by the Star Spirit Counterattack were no match for the self-healing power of his strong physique. As soon as some of the injuries appeared, they were repaired intact in a split second without affecting Grim's battle strength in the slightest.

One plus and one minus, one strong and one weak, both sides took out their strongest attacks at the same time, but the damage caused was so different that they couldn't be compared to each other.

Amidst the noisy and trembling ice crystal mist, the two strange figures of Fireman and Blue Mist fought further and further away, gradually extending the battlefield to the edge of the Ice God Temple. Although their figures could not be seen anymore, but through the fiercely vibrating mist and the earth-shaking roar, one could still imagine the intensity and ferocity of their battle.

The Witch Demon Kangenas that remained in the center of the battlefield obviously didn't dare to slow down.

It could see that Starling Tulas was no match for Fireman Grim. Thus, it had to take care of this old dragon that was already severely injured before the Fireman returned.

And this was obviously a great challenge for it as well!

After all, the old dragon's base strength was there, and no one could easily gain any advantage over it.

Time was life!

For the sake of that Ancient Harsh Winter Casket, the Witch Demon Kangonas also began to fight to the death.

With an obscure, low magic spell, the space of the dead opened up once again, and a new army of elite undead frantically surged out of it, rushing towards that cold bone dragon Nax who was crawling on top of the platform without regard for life or death.

An even more ferocious and cruel battle was instantly fought....

...................

Outside the tall and majestic Temple of Ice, several members of the team met up again.

They were each based on a place, far away from each other, eyes gazing at the ice crystal mist that couldn't stop rolling and vibrating, eyes flickering, and not knowing what they were all thinking about.

The strange star spirit seemed to have lost interest in everything in the palace, and a cluster of stars lit up inside its cloud-like body, staring coldly at the relaxed-looking Grim.

"Fireman, that's a rank 5 dual attribute artifact, aren't you at all interested?" The one who spoke was the first Sand King to be banished from the scene.

Its insect body was in tatters, and fine cracks and blue frost marks could be seen everywhere on its insect armor. However, its mental state was still intact, and at least 60% of its strength remained in one piece.

"So what if it's a 5th rank artifact? Not in tune with its own origin attribute, forcibly abducted here, it will end up just as miserable as that old dragon, transformed into a human or a ghost. I'm quite fond of my human body, and I'm not about to turn into a monster with no sense of touch or taste!" Grim was indifferent, simply ignoring the Starling's angry stare.

"Of course you don't care, because you already have two Tier 5 artifacts in your hand, and they're both compatible with your origin talent. Hmph, if you're capable of not using those two artifacts, we'll have another fight!" Starling Tulas was still indignant.

After the battle just now, it had completely understood this strange fire man's cards.

Hearing the Starling's big reveal, the Sand King and the Snake Girl opened their mouths wide in shock and stared at the young wizard in awe.

They had heard that the Wizard World was a pretty powerful civilization, but they still couldn't imagine that the guy who came out of there was so perverted. Compared to the old dragon in the Ice Temple, I'm afraid that this male wizard in front of them was the most 'dirt' that should be felled!

The weakest of the few, the snake woman couldn't help but have a worried look on her pretty face, while her broken snake tail was also gently wriggling, moving noiselessly further away from this male witch.

Even that Sand King began to flip his intricate phosphorescent green compound eyes, silently surveying the unimpressive-looking Grim once more.

As the top creatures of the different planes, they judged the strength of a target creature mainly by whether it possessed a strong enough body or soul. It wasn't too much of a concern for weaponry or magic items, though.

After all, most of their worlds or bits didn't have a powerful and well-developed power-running system like the Wizard World.

They had either gone through thousands of bloody fights to evolve into what they were now, standing out from the billions of ordinary creatures. Or they live in a deformed and fertile world, with strange talents in one aspect, but still primitive and inferior in other aspects of social life.

In fact, most bit worlds are like that!

The reason all top civilizations are powerful is not that they are born that way, but that they are nurtured and developed.

So many Sorcerers in the Sorcerer World stepped out of their planes, explored the endless sea of stars, searched for rare and exotic treasures, conquered many planes, and then raided the essence of each plane to gather in the Sorcerer World.

It was their selfish actions, similar to moving ants, that accidentally created the bit consciousness of the Sorcerer World. The convergence of external resources and knowledge systems also allowed the Sorcerer World's bit consciousness to grow and expand, which in turn fed back into the bit power system.

Among the thousands of Bit Worlds, there were absolutely very few top civilizations that had a healthy and well-developed Sorcerer cultivation system, a perfect alchemy process, and huge reserves of resources like the Sorcerer World.

Like the Sand King and the Serpent Lady, who were strong 4th rankers from different different different planes, they might already be the top existence in their own planes. But in the Sorcerer World, they were only at the level of Elite Sorcerers within the 4th rank.

Even within the group of elite witches, the Sand King and the Snake Girl weren't considered the top, they could only be described as unique!

Therefore, facing this powerful Fire Witch from the Sorcerer World, both the Sand King and the Snake Maiden couldn't help but cower a bit, no longer having the brawny and arrogant attitude they had when they first met.

As for that Star Spirit Tulas, although he was not weaker than Grim, he was exceptionally scrupulous of the two origin artifacts in his hands. To be honest, it was because of a moment of inattention that it had suffered a great loss in Grim's hands just now.

Hearing Turas's angry words, Grim almost lost his laughter and couldn't help but leisurely say, "In our wizard world, equipment is considered part of a strong person's strength, and even has to be classified as a very important part."

"We human sorcerers don't have the naturally strong physiques of demons, nor do we have the natural abilities unique to your race, so if we don't rely on equipment, what do we use to fight you? You wouldn't ask that old dragon to cut off its hands and claws and wings and strip off its scales before you fight that old dragon, would you?"

The Starling Tulas were silent.

They were all top-notch powerhouses within their own plane, and after suddenly stepping out of their plane to see the power of other races, they naturally lost their balance and confidence within and became a bit hysterical.

"I've just given you quite a few promises, why don't you help me, instead of helping that witch demon?" After a few more moments, Starling Tulas finally asked the question that he most wanted to know the answer to.

"Because it has power, and you are alone!" Grim smiled lightly, "Putting aside that slight difference in personal combat power, the future benefits I'll gain by helping it are certainly much greater than helping you..."

Starling Tullus was silent again!

"It seems like the winner is split..." the Sand King who had been paying attention to the battlefield in the distance suddenly exclaimed in alarm.

Everyone in the arena raised their heads in unison and began to cast their eyes into the depths of the mist.

There, a bloody and brutal battle had just come to an end....
