Age of Adepts

Chapter 1281 - Front and Rear Attack

The insects were coming in large numbers.

Almost as soon as the Magic Colt Knights had noticed them, the jungle had become an ocean of insects.

Standing in the pestle forest, looking around, the terrifying figures of black swarms of insects could be seen in several every corner. As wormholes continued to appear, more and more terrifying insects of all kinds emerged from the ground and attacked the Dripping Blood Spear Troop in a near frenzy.

For a time, the entire interior of the woodland was filled with deafening elemental roars, the dazzling aura of flames, frosts, and poisonous rings bursting... There was also the creepy, creepy sound of insects gnawing, and the violent shouts of the Magic Colt Knights as they wielded their spear swords... ...

And all that's left are the dying cries of the land!

It's not that the Magic Colt Knights haven't experienced painful and long battles, and it's not that they haven't experienced the terrifying test of life and death. But when thousands of beetles fearlessly swarm in front of you and overwhelm you with their huge numbers, the despair, the torment of the beetles devouring your body little by little, is something no ordinary person can endure.

In just fifteen minutes after the battle began, seven Magic Colt Knights were trapped in the swarm of insects, becoming a twisted and struggling humanoid pile of insects in the midst of the ten thousand insects.

The Worm Wizard Billis didn't seem to have the slightest intention of showing himself, but he remained hidden behind the curtain, driving the insects to attack the Colt Riders. The flow of several captains and chiefs with strong individual strengths were entangled in dozens of odd exotic insects with different shapes and effects.

Among them, there was the Demonic Mantis (1st class) that was good at stealthy grass and trees, flying extremely fast, and had a huge scythe in front of its body; the Void Ravager (2nd class) that was able to travel through the space of a different surface and had spatial cutting power attached to its attacks; and the Slayer (3rd class) that had razor-sharp knobby limbs and an ultra-dense and tough insect shell....

The ones that stalked the Shattered Face Gallo were these 3rd-ranked Terrifying Slayers.

They are almost the same in appearance as the black beetles that wreak havoc in the forest, but the shape is more fluid, the shell is tougher, and the claws and teeth are sharper. What was even more frightening was that they relied on the four pairs of insect wings on their backs to have an unimaginable extreme flight speed.

The sharp claws and teeth coupled with lightning fast flight speed, which also allows them to quickly increase the power of the attack.

The crushed face of Gallo may be able to cut down the Void Predator like a vegetable, but in the face of this kind of sweeping, guillotine-like insect pincers that can cut the human waist as thick as the magical steel in two, even he has to be careful, don't dare to ignore it.

After all, the number of slayers entangled around him was as much as five!

The individual strength of a single Slayer was only at the beginner's level 3, and should not reasonably threaten Gallo, who already had peak level 3 strength. Unfortunately, the way insects fought was decidedly different from the witches, and thus posed a much higher threat.

At the very least, Sorcerers wouldn't fight with the 'nonsensical' concept of giving up their lives to give their opponent a hard time, nor would they trust their combat partners wholeheartedly.

This also led to the fact that although the peak of the 3rd stage, Crush Face Gallo was strong enough to crush any of the 3rd stage killers, he never made any gains. This was because he didn't dare to pay the price to annihilate the insects easily, and the main reason was... that terrifying Worm Wizard Billis was hiding nearby, waiting for him to fight the insects to the end!

From the beginning of the battle, Shattered Face Gallo could sense a strange spiritual fluctuation lingering over the insects, faint and mysterious. Upon closer inspection, it seemed that this spiritual fluctuation was not a complete and independent spiritual consciousness, but the consciousness of many tiny insects.

It was precisely such a strange characteristic that had prevented Shattered Face Gallo from finding the true hiding place of that Insect Witch Billis. To put it more simply, that Worm Witch Billis had most likely used some kind of secret technique to attach his spiritual consciousness to every single individual of the insects.

Thus, without the so-called original body, outsiders who wanted to cut it down would probably have to honestly clean up the entire insect swarm!

The battle between the two sides was tense and intense....

Seemingly realizing that even using the Void Ravagers and Slayers would not be able to do anything to Smashed Face Gallo, the Worm Wizard Billis immediately changed his attack method.

Nearly a hundred demonic mantises of no more than 1st rank gathered from all over the dense forest and swarmed towards the face crushing Gallo who was standing proudly in the forest on top of the ferocious magic horse. The five Killers and thirteen Void Ravagers abandoned the Shattered Face Gallo, aiming at the ordinary members of the Dripping Blood Spear Force.

A simple tactical switch brought amazing results as well!

The powerful attack power of the five-headed slayers was duly reflected on the ordinary Magic Colt Knight. Where a swift phantom like shadow and wind flashed by, there was bound to be a Magic Colt Knight with a broken shield and cracked armor falling from the Magic Colt.

And once they lost the high mobility of the Magic Colt, the Horseless Knights in black armor immediately became the target of the insects' siege. No matter how fierce they wielded their long swords, no matter how fierce the elemental sorcery they inspired, they still couldn't stop the terrifying swarm of insects that swarmed them.

Almost in a flash, their bodies were crawling with black beetles.

From afar, the area they were in was already overwhelmed by the swarm of insects, and it was almost impossible to see their tall and majestic figures anymore.

Click, click, click, click....

The strange gnawing sound that makes one's teeth weak and legs weak is constant.

The Knight Sorcerer who had been devoured by the swarm of insects had no chance to escape from the sea of insects, and could only feel the sharp pain from his body as he struggled and resisted. The elemental shields were squeezed and burst, the black armor was bitten open, and countless even smaller foreign insects burrowed into the interior of the armor, even directly into their bodies, digging everywhere between the flesh and bones, gnawing madly....

In the midst of this frightening and terrifying noise, silently experiencing their flesh, bones, tendons, and organs being eaten away by the insects... this feeling of despair was not something that everyone had the opportunity to experience either.

Most of the knight shamans who fell into the swarm of insects would be driven mad by this terrible feeling, and blew themselves up in despair with no hope of getting out of the situation themselves.

Thus after the battle became white-hot, a great roar rang out from time to time in the raging sea of insects, accompanied by countless fishy and pungent insect blood and broken insect corpses. As for the Knight Sorcerer's tattered remains, there was not even a scrap to be found.

Knight Sorcerers were no match for formal Sorcerers after all!

In a way, they were actually nothing more than a group of sorcerer apprentices who had mastered the power of the elements, relying on the sorcerer's armor on their bodies, the sorcerer's spear and sword in their hands, and a special exercise and cultivation method to possess a combat power comparable to that of a formal sorcerer.

However, the consequence of mass production was that they did not have as profound a store of knowledge as the formal sorcerers, nor did they have as numerous sorcery tricks, nor did they have all sorts of strange and bizarre means of saving their lives.

Such a sorcerer force would naturally be invincible when slaughtering ordinary bit natives, greatly compensating for the lack of formal sorcerers. However, once they encountered such a terrifying enemy, the chances of them being able to escape were infinitely close to zero.

But the good news was that they were also mass-produced, and their losses weren't as heartbreaking as those of the Formal Sorcerers!

After all, there were so many outcasts in the wizarding world who were not gifted with enough potential to advance to the rank of a formal wizard. If they voluntarily embarked on this transformed and enhanced special wizard path, they would also be able to enjoy similar treatment as official witches to a certain extent.

This was actually the most fundamental reason why witch troops were able to appear in large numbers!

This was a remote woodland only 30 miles away from the Swamp of Sorrow, and a hidden stronghold where the Blood Dripping Spear Troop led by Shattered Face Gallo had sneaked over to prepare for an attack.

Unfortunately, their whereabouts were somehow captured by the Crimson Clan, and they were unsurprisingly besieged by the Crimson Strongman, the Worm Witch Billis.

Surrounding a powerful force of Denel family witches with one man....

Such a thing could only be done by a handful of strong wizards!

After resisting for an hour, seeing that they were outnumbered, Smashed Face Gallo finally gave the order to retreat. The original number of more than three hundred Magic Colt Knight Sorcerers were able to successfully withdraw from the dense forest, but only seventy people, including the two chiefs and lieutenants, including Shattered Face Gallo and the black-armored strong man Riese, as well as more than a dozen knight captains of the 2nd rank.

Such a rate of loss was already comparable to a fiasco!

However, since the Crimson Family was aware of their presence, how could they be allowed to leave at will.

As soon as they left the dense forest, a huge shadow covered the skies above the knight squad.

The floating giant ship Vassailo had blocked their path.

Knock knock knock....

With a tremor of the earth, a battle demon of up to 3 meters in size plummeted from the sky. Only at a height of less than ten meters from the ground did they ignite the buffer rockets beneath their bodies, smashing a shallow hole in the ground as if they were steel warriors, and then crawled out with a creaking metallic sound, aiming their black hole cannons at the group of defeated soldiers.

"Those who crouch with their hands on their heads will not be killed!"

"Those who crouch with their hands on their heads will not be killed! ...the rest of those who resist will be killed without mercy!"

A loud mechanical sound echoed in the air above the battlefield, the magic energy cannons on the chest, shoulders and hands of the battle demon armament began to rapidly recharge, countless blue lights began to converge inside the cannon's mouth, the strange energy whistle was like hidden thunder, it was so captivating....

And above the sky, at the bottom of the floating giant ship, a magic energy cannon poking out also began to charge silently. The magic energy gathered inside the mouth of the cannon was compressed into a huge blue ball of light, and the intensity of the energy contained within was simply frightening.

The target of this magic energy cannon was naturally the face-smashing Gallo, who still had his full battle strength!
