Age of Adepts

Chapter 1293 - Cleaning Up Cannon Fodder

Thousands of ghouls had been strangled in an instant, but the wizard leader in charge of controlling and managing the War Witch Tower was not the least bit happy, instead he was thunderstruck.

"Pass the order... Pass the order! Get those idiots to stop...ghouls are just the least valuable thing in the opposing force. Tell them to conserve their sorcery energy, prepare to deal with the mid to high level undead, and leave the ghouls to the witch beasts to deal with..."

With this swift order, the thirty War Witch Towers ceased their offensive actions and instead hoarded up their sorcerous energy and began to wait in silence.

The ghouls and skeletal legions that had lost the war witch towers finally collided with the long-awaited witch beast troops.

Almost instantly, a huge wave of blood soared up from the front line. In the middle of the blood wave was an uncountable number of bone fragments and broken limbs.

The witch beasts were originally created by the sorcerers to serve as cannon fodder for war, and the biological materials used to create them were the jungle beasts captured in the Black Forest. The rest are crude creatures that are made by using sorcery to stimulate their fighting spirit and become twisted monsters that only know how to fight and kill.

They also come in a wide variety of shapes, many of which look like a simple amalgamation of multiple beasts. But without exception, they possess a strong and fierce physique, a bloody and cruel killing nature, and a variety of attack methods....

In terms of a single body quality, a witch beast's battle prowess was far superior to that of a ghoul or skeletal warrior, and a 3-meter tall and short wild witch beast was enough to overturn a dozen skeletal warriors with slow and stiff movements. However, on the battlefield, there was a lack of enough space to fight, and all the creatures were densely clustered together, using their primitive body instincts to fight.

In such a situation, the combat play of the witch beasts was compressed, and the numerical advantage of the skeleton legions was reflected.

As far as the naked eye could see, two equally large numbers of teams were constantly clashing and fighting.

The Skeleton Legion and the Witch Beast troops were like being thrown into a blender, with one side being crushed into pieces of bones and the other into pieces of flesh and blood.

Both sides were advancing, and the front part of the battle was disappearing a little as they advanced, the entire first half of the flesh and blood battlefield was literally soaked in blood, and the earth was filled with a hodgepodge of blood and bone fragments mixed and blended together to form a hodgepodge.

The two sides just trampled on such filth and continued to fight and die, continuously adding materials to this flesh and blood furnace.

Seeing that the undead army was already fighting with the witch beast troops, the hundred or so goblin chariots that had been pressing on the rear also began to slowly move forward, bringing the witch beast troops into the range of the magic cannons' attack.

The huge number of metal magic weapons and goblin organoids were following close behind, acting as heavy infantry. As for the Flame Legion, they did not move a muscle, silently waiting for the moment when the Witch Beast troops would be scattered by the undead army.

The War Witch Towers finally fired once again.

This time, they did not unleash those ranged attack sorceries, but instead used targeted killing to bombard the middle and high level undead mixed inside the undead army. After all, these undead with special fighting methods were too powerful for the Witch Beast Troops, and their size and number had to be limited. Otherwise, the depletion rate of the Witch Beast Troops would be too fast!

The goblin chariots that had advanced near the frontier also began to make their presence felt. A glowing fireball of energy cut through the long sky, dragging the long tail of black smoke as it crashed down into the group of witch beasts, blasting one of the more striking performers, along with everything else around it, into pieces of flesh and blood.

It's not a bad idea to come!

Both sides were purposefully and systematically clearing the core supporters inside the other's battle system. Without these guys who acted as the backbone of the war, the opposing team's combat performance dropped significantly.

Every now and then, the War Witch Tower and the Goblin Chariot would also greet each other from a distance of thousands of meters. Sporadic energy fireballs exploded on the outer shield of the tower, not damaging it in the slightest. The attack sorcery inspired by the War Witch Tower was also beaten into brilliant fireworks by the scurrying energy rays, raining a beautiful rain of fluorescent fire over the chariot.

The goblin organists who had shown a small display of skill waved their arms and shouted loudly, and goblin slang with all sorts of strange dialects instantly resounded across this battlefield.

"This damned Grim, how dare he collude with a witch outside the realm..." the Clara witch slapped the table hard with a hateful look on her face.

She had visited multiple friends in one breath before she could barely put together the formation in front of her, but who would have thought that the Witch Beast troops that had planned to deplete the opponent's magic armament reserves would be fighting with a bunch of mindless, undead creatures.

Moreover, judging from the battle before us, it was most likely that it was the undead that would win in the end.

After all, there were three 4th rank Wraiths supporting the Undead Canopy behind them, and the constant undead army pouring out from the Skeleton Plane was simply an extremely heavy pressure on Denel's side.

For other biological groups, dying in battle by tens of thousands was tantamount to breaking tendons and bones, never to be strong again. For the undead, it was a shame that they didn't die by the hundreds of thousands every time they fought.

Other groups want to gain some men, but they still need to search for them one by one, capture them one by one, and then train them one by one. Evil creatures like Wraiths, on the other hand, invaded a small bitplane directly and then used their special magical means to contaminate and corrupt the bitplane origin.

Once the bit source gets out of control, the entire environment of the bit is transformed into a place of extinction for the witch demon's needs. And after planting the seeds, they can easily harvest the undead creatures of one plane after a few hundred years and then come back for another turn.

While others were capturing their men one by one, the Wraiths were harvesting one face at a time, and the difference in efficiency between the two was more than a million!

So, every Wraith marked for listing in the Multiverse is the most fearsome of the bit killers. They were in control of multiple skeletal planes that could no longer find half a living thing under their hands, and these skeletal planes were formerly a once vibrant and ordinary material plane.

With such an ample base, it was only because of this that several Wraiths didn't care at all about the loss of these low-level undead. If necessary, they were even able to drive a few skeletal bits and fill up this gravel canyon and its surroundings with a wild sea of undead.

Unfazed by the foul weather ahead, the Witch Kangonas was also silently talking to Grim.

"I've already pulled the men for you, and I can take care of clearing those fodder from the enemy. However, we're not going to fight witches who are directly involved with each other, it will trigger the Witch Alliance to question them."

"Understood, the battle between the witches is done by us, Your Excellency just needs to clean up the battlefield!" Grim's calm and steady voice came in sync as well, and all three Wraiths heard it very clearly.

"Then... it's about time you handed over the graveyard of death you promised us! We only need the spatial waymark there, and as for the validation work, your Excellency will not be bothered!"

"Since we've become allies, how could I possibly deceive Your Excellency. Here... this is the spatial waymark there..." a series of hundreds of spatial waymarks were transmitted like water, and the three Wraiths immediately remembered them firmly in the depths of their souls.

The Graveyard of Death was actually the self-imposed banishment of a certain bit goddess from the Death Department after the defeat of a certain bit. Losing the support of their bit faith, these death gods could only choose to sleep eternally to avoid depleting their few remaining reserves of divine power.

Such a Bit God Kingdom was drifting in the depths of the Endless Star Sea, and if there was no spatial waymark trying to find it out, it would be like looking for a particular piece of fine sand on a vast beach, it was simply impossible to do so.

So, after hearing about the Graveyard of Death from Grim, the witch demon Kangonas did not hesitate to call in two of his witch partners, intending to team up to swallow and digest the target.

Death, God of Death, which meant that it still had the Death Grimoire on it.

This extremely rare item was a great tonic even for a Witch Demon.

If a Witch Demon was tired of living this bloodless, fleshless life with no physical perception, and chose to fuse the Death God Grid, there was still a good chance that it would inherit the other party's priesthood and the power of faith, thus gaining a chance for a 'new life'.

Thus, plundering the graveyard of a Death Goddess was definitely a great achievement for the Wraiths to show off.

As for whether or not this news was fake... hehe, the entire Multiverse that dared to cheat the Wraiths had yet to be born!

Grim was out with the news, the Witch Beasts were out with the cannon fodder, and the two sides were on the same page, which presented the absurdly bizarre scene in front of them.

Nearly a million undead troops continued to attack, finally consuming the tens of thousands of Witch Beast troops on the Denel family's side. Seeing this, the three Witch Beasts interrupted the energy supply of the Skeleton Gate, and the terrifying black light curtain finally slowly converged.

As for the hundreds of thousands of undead still remaining on the battlefield, the witch demons didn't bother to teleport back, directly ordering them to launch a mortal charge at the enemy, and then a few 'people' turned around and disappeared on the battlefield.

With all the cannon fodder cleared away, the following was a bloody assault by the elite troops of both sides.

The long-awaited Flame Legion, led by that Flame Lord, roared and launched a swift attack from the flanks in conjunction with the advancing army of magic weapons against the Witch Tower's forested Denel family position.

The war witch towers that had been harboring energy and were sternly waiting lit up.

A thunder and lightning storm, a jungle of ice spears, an earth pillar spike, a berserk fireball... It was as if the elemental world had been opened, and violent and incomparable elemental sorcery descended from the sky, enveloping the entire battlefield in an elemental frenzy like an apocalyptic natural disaster.

The war beat that had just dropped back down somewhat instantly came to its highest pitch again!
