Age of Adepts

Chapter 1299 - Mountains and Rivers

A hidden location on the east side of the gravel canyon.

A man and a woman, two sorcerers, were hiding inside a Pod-type magic plant deep underground, secretly peeking at the battlefield in the distance.

What was projected on the inner wall of the Pod was a scene of a life-and-death struggle between two tall giants.

When they saw the terrifying power of the two powerful sorcerers above the scene, they trembled slightly. It was clear that they and the others were hiding in a safe and secure dark place that could not be affected by the battlefield aftermath, yet their mouths were still dry and there was an indescribable sense of indignation and anxiety surging in their chests.

"Super-strong... I really, really never thought that this soft-ass nesting place in the middle of the continent would harbor two super-strong people..." the sorceress cursed angrily.

"They can't even be called super strong!" The male sorcerer said coldly, "The two of them, one of them reached such power by virtue of that strong bloodline power, and the other by virtue of a high-grade artifact that was in tune with their soul origins. And their ontologies... they obviously aren't up to the standards of super strong people!"

"Even if we can't reach it, I'm afraid it's not far off..." the sorceress was still full of hatred, "If we let the central part of the country go on like this, it might even break away from the association's control and coalesce into a new sorcerer force! ...Don't you forget that the Association sent the two of us here to try to corral this stray force in the central part of the country. If the central part is lost from the two of us, this guilt..."

At this point, the female witch couldn't help but shiver with excitement, clearly remembering something bad.

The male sorcerer's face was also gloomy.

The situation before them was clearly beyond their control. It involved the future of the middle of the continent, but also encompassed nearly half of the central 4th ranked witches, and two powerful witches who had emerged that were not in the least bit weaker than the super-strong....

What does that make them two 3rd class?

To put it bluntly, never mind the fact that the two of them possessed the status of inspectors of the Sorcerer's Association, they would receive a warm and sincere welcome no matter where they traveled to in the middle of the continent. However, in the eyes of those 4th rank old men, they were just the eyes and ears of the Wizard Association stationed in the middle of the continent.

Although they didn't overtly stumble, they were unavoidable to secretly defy and resist.

Moreover, with the two of them's 3rd rank strength, it was possible for them to venture into today's battlefield and be killed by those two terrifying guys with a single move.

Therefore, they would rather hide underground to let off some steam, rather than dare to approach that battlefield by any means.

"What should we do?" The sorceress looked fierce and fearful at the thought of the punishment she would face in the future.

"What else can we do... report the situation here as it is and apply for the association to send stronger witches to control the situation. Otherwise..." the male sorcerer looked resolute.

Stronger sorcerers than them...wouldn't that mean only sending out the elders of the association?

Moreover, looking at today's situation, I'm afraid an ordinary association elder wouldn't be able to calm the scene even if he came!

The sorceress licked her dry lips and was about to continue speaking when an eerie, hoarse voice suddenly sounded in this strange underground space.

"Shut up you two little ones... and watch this battle carefully and seriously! Within the Wizard World, this level of fighting is rare..."

The voice was coming from the identity authority rings worn on the hands of the male and female sorcerers, and within the Sorcerer's Association, there were not many guys who could override the identity authority of the two of them and directly carry out this kind of area wide.

Moreover, this voice was so peculiar, so unforgettable, that the male and female witches looked at each other, and the name of a super-powerful person surfaced in their minds at the same time.

Severus.....

"Meet Lord Severus!" Male and female witches spoke in unison, their faces flushed with excitement and exuberance.

Since the headquarters had sent the super-powerful Lord Serweris here, it seemed that the association was preparing to make a big move!

"Shh...you two little ones don't be so loud!" That cold voice continued, "You don't think that only our association is sending people, do you? Well, stupid..."

The faction the witch belonged to behind the sorceress seemed to have a little bit of a connection with this Severus, and thus had the temerity to ask, "My lord, did all the other organizations send people as well?"

After a moment of silence, the cold voice replied lazily, "I haven't found out who was sent by the Silver Alliance, but the one coming from the Northern Witch is definitely that bitch Krsuna... Hmph, if there's a chance, I'd really like to find her to catch up... ..."

By the grumbling tone of the other side, it was clear that a meeting to catch up would not be as calm and friendly as he had described!

After a few more moments, that cold voice suddenly said, "You two little guys get out of here! Return to the central station and wait for news, and by the way, gather back all the manpower placed around here. I've already sensed the appearance of a new scent, and if a fight starts later, you won't be able to run away then if you want to..."

Hearing the other party's warning, the faces of two male and female witches with intermediate and advanced 3rd rank strength also changed greatly.

The male and female sorcerers stomped their feet in panic and grabbed some bud-like objects poking out from the petals beneath them with both hands, causing the Pod to shrink rapidly. Only when the space had shrunk to the point where it could accommodate the two of them, did he drive the Pod-type magic strain underground to burrow away from the battlefield.

The sorceress, on the other hand, constantly fought with the authority ring in her hand, passing on a retreat order to each of her subordinates. The ones who could be sent to this battlefield were all elites that the two of them had worked hard to cultivate over the past few hundred years, and all of them had the strength of the 2nd stage. If they were to be lost here, they would have to vomit blood and cry.

While the two underground 3rd rank association sorcerers were sneaking away, some mysterious characters descended near the Gravel Canyon.

It was a strange crystal airship that resembled a devil fish in appearance.

At this moment, it was hovering five miles away in the northeast of the gravel canyon, silently observing and examining the battle between the two 'superpowers'.

The interior space of the airship was however much larger than the size outline seen from outside, and inside the spacious central hall, more than a dozen guys of various forms were all wearing the silver robes unique to the Silver Alliance, sitting busy at their posts.

Rats, tree people, snake people, night elves, black dwarves, gnomes...sweeping their eyes, their life races were so mixed that they gave one the strange feeling of entering the Biological Wannabe Garden.

"Lord Tatas, the scout sentries have been dispatched, and the battle images will be transmitted soon..." a silver-robed sorcerer with a human body but a snake's head reported respectfully.

And on a small, raised platform in the center of the hall, the 4th-ranked magician Tathas was sitting quietly with his eyes closed, slowly opening his eyes at the news.

Tatas wasn't a pure human either, but a half-breed with a manifest dwarf bloodline. His height was no more than 1 meter 3 meters, his muscles were not well developed, and his mental strength was on the lower end of the spectrum compared to an ordinary 4th rank wizard.

However, as a high-ranked Magic Doll Master of the Silver Alliance, most of his strength rested on the powerful Magic Doll that had fused with his soul into one. Thus his original body was just a little bit 'feeble'.

Tathas opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the distant battle scene projected on the huge light screen in front of him. Looking at the two powerful sorcerers who were so strong that the sky and the earth could fall apart when they raised their hands, Tatas' small green bean-like eyes immediately brightened.

"Titan bloodline... it really is the most powerful kind of bloodline power in the world!" He slurred as he examined it without turning his eyes away, "It's a pity that those Titans are too powerful, otherwise if the Alliance could capture one or two of them to study them and come up with some flesh and blood puppets, they would be much more powerful than those clumsy metal lumps. Too bad...too bad!"

Exclaiming to the end, no one knew exactly what he was referring to by pity.

But in a whirl, his eyes were drawn to another Molten Fire Giant.

"Energized body... fire elemental transformation... these elemental shamans are all that's left to strengthen! Not even a little creative... Wait, isn't this Fire Witch's attack and defense a little perverted? How could his attack power reach nearly 10,000 when his original body was only a 4th rank intermediate? How is this...how is this possible?"

The more Tathas watched, the more amazed he became, waving his hand and pulling the light screen in front of him, casually putting on a pair of multi-purpose multi-purpose engineering glasses and lying down to carefully study the three-dimensional image that took up almost the entire screen.

"The artifact...he's using the artifact! And it's a 5th rank artifact... Boy, why does he have two high energy reactions on him? Could it be... did he have two 5th rank artifacts on him? Bastard...the lucky bastard..."

Watching the Flight Supervisor cry and laugh at the crazy performance, the many silver-robed witches in the arena could only shrug their shoulders at each other and pretend to be unconcerned as they continued to do their own thing.

To be honest, they were really busy with their work!

They had to collect statistics and data from the top battles in the middle of the continent, as well as analyze the possible future directions of the situation for the Silver Alliance executives to decide... None of these tasks could be easily accomplished, no wonder their flight leader for this trip was a renowned Alliance powerhouse.

While the 4th ranked magician Tartarus was laughing and crying, in another area not more than 20 miles away from them, three witches with vastly different figures, looks, and ages were standing in an invisible boundary, also observing and surveying the battlefield.

Death Witch Chief Krsuna... If her name were placed in the North, she would be an important figure that would shake the heavens and earth. It was often rumored that she was the most powerful individual warrior among the witches of the Northlands!

Accompanying her were two executives from the Witch Council stationed in the middle of the continent, a 2nd and a 3rd level, belonging to the Dark Witch and the Pale Witch.

Although they didn't belong to the Death Witch faction, they were still under the jurisdiction of the Witch Council. Therefore, in the face of the sudden appearance of this witch leader, the two witch supervisors behaved in a fearful manner and acted as if they were bowing down to orders.
