Age of Adepts

Chapter 1342 - Central Unrest

As soon as the news of House Entom's demise broke, all of Scattered Tallinn was shaken!

Those central forces that had colluded with Freed to fight and suppress the Crimson Family were all on tenterhooks, fearing that they would wake up one day to find the Crimson Fleet dazzling in their sights.

However, what made them feel even more desperate was that on the second day after the destruction of the Entom family, the Fabreus family announced that they would accept the leadership of the Crimson family and voluntarily become their affiliated force, and sent a large number of family witches to join the newly established Horton Witchcraft Academy.

These witches had all dissolved their contractual service relationship with the Fabres family before their arrival and joined the Horton Witchcraft Academy as free witches. This bare-bones act was also completely indicative of the intentions of that 4th Order Alchemist Sorcerer, Fabreth!

And following the Fabreth family, Clara Witch of the Denel family issued a similar proclamation and likewise selected some of the family witches to join the Horton School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as free men.

And that wasn't all!

Immediately afterwards, a third power also came out to state its position.

And this third power was the well-known Molten Fire City.

Over the years, Melting Fire City had maintained a good personal relationship with the Crimson Family, and the resource trade agreement between the two sides had greatly benefited each other. The Crimson Family obtained irreplaceable Quillus Alloy, while Melting Fire City received a steady stream of high-grade Dragon Brand materials.

One of the two sides was willing to fight and one was willing to suffer, and the relationship was unbreakable. Even though Freed had promised numerous benefits to that Alfred City Lord, he was unable to pull it onto the chariot against the Crimson Family.

Now, with the Crimson Family's trend of unifying the central part of the country so obvious, the long-established Melting Fire City Lord Alfred naturally knew what choice he should make.

Therefore, while many wizard families were still watching and hesitating, Melting Fire City had become the third subsidiary power to officially submit to the Crimson Family.

The sky was about to change!

If placed in the past, only those high-ranking sorcerers with a keen sense of smell would be able to faintly perceive this powerful force that swiftly changed the central part of the country. And now, as long as they weren't blind or deaf, they dared to feel a powerful hurricane that was pounding at them.

The three large sorcerer families successively submitting to the Crimson Family became the most obvious directional beacon, completely indicating the future development pattern of the central continent.

Crimson....Horton....

Those two terms have also become the hottest words in the Midlands!

As long as it was a place where the witches gathered, the most debated and discussed words were these two words. They had become some sort of symbol with mysterious colors and power, representing the future direction of power in the middle of the continent.

However, there were thirty-three regions in the middle of the continent, with more than a dozen 4th rank forces, and the rest of the low and middle rank wizard families and small and medium organizations adding up to nearly a thousand forces. How easy it would be to completely unify such a vast and complex region and establish a large and effective Sorcerer organization.

Not to mention, the many small and medium sized sorcerer families were also hidden tigers inside, and if you weren't careful, you might get on the wrong side of some old monster who had been living outside of the region for thousands of years.

For example, the Sarupo Family.

The Sarupo family has its family headquarters in Ferdinand City, occupying a mundane territory of only three to four hundred miles, with less than a hundred family sorcerers. Such medium sorcerer families abounded in the middle of the continent, and there wasn't originally the slightest bit of excitement.

But once the Crimson Family wanted to crush the Sarupo Family's headquarters, it would inevitably have to offend the surviving Sarupo 6th Order Grand Sorcerer.

Although the other party was outside the domain and could not return to the Wizard World in person.

However, if the 6th ranked Grand Sorcerer started a fire, he would give Grim some trouble and calculate the Crimson Family's property outside the domain. Even if Grim is able to proudly roar in the middle of the continent, he will inevitably have to bear the risk of the out-of-area industry being destroyed.

Moreover, with Grim's development speed, it was only a matter of time before he crossed the 4th level and entered the extra-territorial area. If all of these small and medium sized sorcerer families were to be wiped out indiscriminately, then the day Grim stepped outside the domain in the future would be the moment when the many great sorcerer enemies would find their way to us!

The thought that there would be a group of great witches blocking the domain to skin and bone themselves in the future, even Grim's little heart would be pounding.

It was precisely because such a hard form annexation was not desirable that Grim had to detour forward and use the gentler approach of the Horton School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to fight for control and dominance of the central part of the country.

I also don't need the Crimson Family's big fish eating small fish method of annexing you, everyone 'fair' competition, using a variety of factors such as excellent teaching environment, abundant witch resources, strong teachers, etc. to suck away the good talents of the central part of the country.

In this way, the Horton Witchcraft Academy will only grow stronger and stronger.

The family forces left behind by those great wizards couldn't attract new blood and were unable to grow and shrink themselves. In this way, those great sorcerers could not blame Grim.

In short, the descendants of the Great Sorcerer's bloodline could perish, but they must not die at the hands of the Crimson Family.

It was for this consideration that Grim had abandoned the Crimson Family model and pushed for the Horton Witchcraft Academy!

There was nothing he could do, he didn't want to become a street rat in the future, being muffled by those great sorcerers squatting and stalking every day.

Honestly speaking, if it wasn't for scruples about that 6th ranked Sarupo Grand Sorcerer, that Sarupo family that he had had an extremely unpleasant time with would have been uprooted by it long ago.

Everything was multiplied by cause and effect as well!

These sorcerer families with the backing of the great sorcerer seem to be a big burden for the Crimson family to unify the middle, and they are all nail households that Grim doesn't dare to touch. But on the other hand, they were also a kind of human resource for Grim.

If those great sorcerers outside the domain were willing to get on good terms with Grim, Grim wouldn't mind nurturing a few more of their bloodline descendants. If the other party pushed too hard, Grim could completely extinguish the other party's bloodline and sever their last link to the Wizard World.

As for why the bloodline descendants of the great sorcerers were gradually declining... this was a curse that had been hard to break in the sorcerer world for ages!

First, the difficulty of procreation.

Those who were able to transcend to become Grand Sorcerers were already inhuman. They might still have a trace of humanoid form in their appearance, but when they opened their chests and lungs, it was almost impossible to find any life factors and flesh and blood organs that resembled humans.

The Super-Scale Shamans had already gone too far on the path of transformation and mutation... Such a group of monsters, even the life essence in their bodies had long since mutated into monstrous beings, which human woman would be able to combine with them to produce a legitimate human baby?

Ordinary women and even low-level witches simply couldn't withstand the life essence of the Great Witches, and once they were implanted with such life essence, they would be killed by it in the shortest possible time.

And the probability of a Grand Witch man and woman wanting to combine and give birth to a normal human baby was even smaller to the extreme!

Therefore, most of the bloodline descendants of the Great Sorcerers left within the Sorcerer's World were actually the blood and bones they had left behind in their early years of growth. After thousands of years of generational inheritance, the similarity between these bloodline descendants and the Great Sorcerer's bloodline had become so thin that it was difficult to identify them.

Moreover, the more powerful the magical creature, the weaker the ability to give birth to normal descendants!

Thus, while they sounded glamorous with the name of descendants of the Great Wizard Bloodline, in reality, they had mostly fallen and withered away. Even whether or not the great wizard who passed down the bloodline himself was still willing to acknowledge these lowly beings was a matter of opinion.

Secondly, the difficulty of passing on the bloodline.

Those who were able to become great sorcerers were all once proud sons of the heavens, sorcerer geniuses. And the path they walked was often not replicable.

This was also the main reason why after a great sorcerer family gave birth to a great sorcerer, the latter did not train a steady stream of replacements!

It wasn't that he didn't want to, but he just couldn't do it.

The Great Sorcerer himself might have used some almost extinct rare resources or those hard-to-find strange treasures to cross the threshold of his bloodline. For these juniors, where would he find the resources to set them on their path as well!

Each great wizard offers a possibility for the next generation to learn from, but only from. Rarely would a successor be able to follow the example of the other's success and step into the ranks of the Grand Sorcerer.

One of the main reasons for this was that all Grand Sorcerers were tight-lipped about their abilities and the way they advanced, not to mention that they would not talk about it widely.

They fear that their enemies will launch targeted attacks against them based on this information, and so they withhold those things that are truly important and valuable in their personal development journey. Without these things, the information that the great shamans release to the public is not as safe and misleading as it could be.

If someone else wanted to advance in their way, he or she would have to suffer a huge loss and lose their life for it.

Just like Grim, if he was able to advance to Level 5 in the future, then the one who would get the most credit would be the Fire God Pearl. But where would he be able to find a second Fire God Pearl for his disciple or successor!

So at the 4th order, there is only a vague direction for the future, no longer an inherent path to refer to and follow as previously!

With the destruction of the Entom Family, the situation in the middle of the continent could be completely described as treacherous and turbulent.

By this point, everyone was being forced to pick sides and take sides!

Either join the ranks of the 'Resistance' and unite to fight the Crimson, or bow down and acknowledge the Crimson's de facto rule over all of Scattered Tallinn... either of those two was a choice they didn't want to make.

Therefore, while the Crimson Fleet was still stuck on the ruins of the Entom Family, there were already a large number of family emissaries from all over the Scattered Tower Forest arriving here, desperately wanting to discuss 'cooperation' with the Crimson rulers!

And without exception, they appreciated the fall of the Entom family's territory....
