Age of Adepts

Chapter 1353 - Absolute Power

Negotiations are always difficult and lengthy.

And the outcome of the negotiations would only be equal to the absolute power gap between the two sides of the negotiations.

It had to be said that Mary's 'stunning' performance had indeed added a sufficiently significant bargaining chip to the Crimson Family. It also made those guys who thought they had found out the details of the Crimson Family once again feel confused and desperate.

Unexpected...truly unexpected!

In addition to Grim, the Crimson Family's dual artifacts in hand, the head of the family who possessed battle prowess comparable to that of superpowers, an equally stunning Queen of Blood, Mary, had emerged.

The combination of Mary + Nightmare Castle was not comparable to a true superpower, but with a strong home field advantage, it was able to exert as much power as a superpower.

Such a combination could barely be considered a defensive super powerhouse!

This also meant that a 'small' wizard family in the middle of the continent had two fearsome wizards of the 'pseudo-super-strong' level within it. This kind of crushing of absolute power, not to mention those Sorcerer Families in the central part of the country, even the three major Sorcerer Organizations would have to be cautious and seriously consider whether or not to improve their relationship with this Crimson Family.

An accumulation of numbers to a certain extent would trigger a qualitative change!

When the Crimson Family only had Grim, a 'pseudo-super strong' level wizard, due to the lone hand and due to the power holding him back, the three major witch organizations would suppress him with their strong power base.

But when the number of 'pseudo-super-strong' became two, the strong numerical advantage of the three major witch organizations would not be so obvious. It was no longer realistic to imagine sending a random superpowered person over to horrify the middle of the continent into silence like before!

The last encounter with the Cursed Sorcerer, Severus, may have been interpreted by some as an accident, but after Mary's rise to power, those who normally ignore the central part of the country will have to think about the consequences if they want to show off their power here again.

Anyway, after returning to the Sorcerer's Association, Severus went back to his lair and never showed his face again. It was said that his injuries were so severe that it was difficult to completely remove the foreign laws that had invaded his body without several years of treatment.

In contrast, Grim had only taken more than a month to regain his footing.

From this point alone, Grim had overshadowed that Severus and become a truly powerful sorcerer that could not be underestimated.

Within the entire Sorcerer World, the number of super-strong people with more than ten fingers was also scattered among the three major Sorcerer organizations. In the past, in the middle of the continent, only Monash Gaia, the head of the Gold Clan, was barely able to reach this level.

Now, the sudden emergence of Grim and Mary, two 'pseudo super strong' level witches, had undoubtedly had a tremendous impact on the power pattern of the wizard world!

It could be politely said that even if Grim and Mary had nothing now, with only their 'pseudo-superpower' level identity and strength, if they wanted to take root and develop in the middle of the continent, a land of empty power, it would be impossible for the three major witch organizations to suppress them any longer.

After all, in the Wizard World, power represented power, and absolute power represented absolute power!

Even a huge organization of witches like the Sorcerer's Association couldn't possibly crush two super-powerful people who hugged a group.

So when Mary showed her 'true power', it was far from just Tatas and Monari who were conquered, it also included Clara, Alfred and Declan who existed as bystanders.

A super-strong person was a super-strong person, even if they were pseudo, and possessed the terrifying power to crush a 4th rank wizard!

Tathas and Monali, who had come with 'good faith', immediately got up and took their leave.

The lags and errors in intelligence had made their trip not only futile, but frightening. Neither Fort Kirthlin nor the promises made in the agreement were gained, and they only brought back bad enough news for those chancellors and councilors at Alliance headquarters, news that no one wanted to hear.

As to whether they would be friend or foe in the future, whether it would be an amicable improvement or a saber-rattling, that was beyond the control of their two 'rank and file' junior councilors.

After sending off the two Alliance Councillors, the attitude of Clara and the others in the face of Grim and Mary became more humble and soft when the family closed the door to discuss their future actions once again.

In the past, Grim, as strong as he was, had that Monash Gaia to hold him back. If he really wanted to unify the central part of the country, he would certainly need the strong assistance of the several people here.

Therefore, no matter in terms of status, psychologically, Clara and the others still hadn't let go of their dignity as 4th rank wizards, and always treated themselves as the Crimson Family's 'allies'.

But now with Mary's transgression, it was clear that one Monash Gaia would not be able to suppress the two of them. As a result, the power landscape in the central part of the country was severely imbalanced, and the Crimson Family's dominance was unstoppable!

Under such circumstances, the value of the few Level 4 Sorcerers present here was not as important as they originally thought it would be. If they didn't lower themselves a bit, I'm afraid that there would be no place for them in the central part of the future.

They may also have a tinge of sadness and desolation deep inside, hating why they had to be born in the same era as these two demonic men and women. But they were more genuinely glad that they hadn't come to blows with the Crimson Family for various reasons.

Compared to them, Milva, Nicholas, and Matthew, hiding in their lair, should be more miserable! When the news of Mary's increased strength reached their ears, how desperate and uncertain their hearts should be....

This was something that the few people here could easily make out in their minds without having to witness it.

The families they belonged to were all ancient families that had existed in the middle of the continent for thousands of years, and they all had close ties with each other, either explicitly or implicitly. Now it was very likely that they would be expelled from the Scattered Earth Tower Forest because of their wrong decision and go to someone else's land to grab food to eat.

This cold reality, even just thinking about it in the back of their minds, would make Clara and the others tremble and secretly recoil.

Taking out one Freed and overthrowing an Entom family was enough of a downfall. Waiting for those 'rebels' to hear the real news and picketing together to fight to the death would never happen.

At their level, their own lives were actually seen as more important than any external objects, even above the family.

Wanting them 4th rank witches to give up their lives for the sake of their family, this was simply an impossible thing to happen!

Clara could even imagine that when the wizard families that opposed Crimson heard that there were two 'pseudo-superpowers' inside Crimson, they would definitely panic and ironically despair and be helpless.

Either flee or surrender....

There can't be a third option!

Picketing against it?

What happened to the Entom family was the bloodiest of realities.

They may still want to maintain their past glory and freedom in their hearts, but when the pursuit of both may be dangerous to their lives along the way, they will only suppress their valley of yawning hope rather than vow to fight to the death.

This... was the true nature of the 4th ranked shamans in the middle of the continent!

...................

The so-called chamber meeting should actually be more accurately described as a demonstration of Mary's power.

When the crowd personally experienced the terrifying power of the combination of the Nightmare Castle and Mary, there would be no suspense as to who would win in the middle of the future.

After briefly discussing the acceptable terms of surrender, Clara and the other three went straight away, rushing to those 4th rank forces that were still watching and hesitating respectively.

There was no need to bluff or intimidate, just put the bloody reality in front of them, they would naturally know what to choose.

All of them were Central Wizards, centuries old faces that had a deep and severed connection with each other. It was far easier to have the three of Clara as emissaries or lobbyists than it would be for the Crimson Fleet to fight their way over one family at a time.

There were hundreds or thousands of wizard families in the middle of the continent, and there were more than a dozen large 4th rank forces alone. If they really wanted to fight, it would be difficult to clear these obstacles without a dozen years of time. And trying to unite and condense their power into one force would simply not be possible without decades of effort.

Therefore, even if he had the confidence to crush these stubborn people who didn't know the time, Grim still preferred 'peaceful unification'. After all, this was the only way to preserve the advantages and essence of the central part of the continent to the greatest extent possible, so that it wouldn't be lost in vain due to civil war.

The reality was just as Clara Witch had predicted, when the 4th rank forces they visited heard that the Crimson Family's Blood Queen Mary also possessed the strength of a pseudo-superpower, they finally lowered their proud heads one by one and reached agreements with the Crimson Family one after another, putting some of their family power into that newly emerged Horton Witchcraft Academy.

The Horton Witchcraft Academy, which was notorious a few years ago, had expanded rapidly, and had become the most famous public witchcraft academy in the middle of the continent.

The powerful faculty, the constant infusion of witch resources, the distinctive faculty design, and the silently standing super-powered figures behind the academy... these were all sufficient reasons for it to succeed!

Moreover, Grim was pushing the Horton School of Witchcraft and Wizardry instead of making the Crimson the only super family in the middle of the country. From this aspect, it was still very fair and equitable to the various witch families.

After all, the Horton Witchcraft Academy was open to all witches and apprentices, and the talents trained would not be forced to flow into the Crimson Family.

This item, one item, was quite advantageous to those witch families that had their own unique characteristics and had been limited to recruiting apprentices in the past only because of their qualifications and lack of witch resources to develop and grow!

As a result, the resistance of the inherent forces in the central part of the continent to the Crimson Family faded away.
