Age of Adepts

Chapter 1390 - Bloody Battlefield

The first group to burrow out of the great rift in space were thirty Frommons.

These were strange flying demons that resembled large bats in appearance, their bodies lean and shriveled, but with unusually wide demonic wings. Their posture as they circled the sky was like a vulture on the hunt, their attacks swift and fierce, and their killing power mainly relied on their sharp and razor-sharp hands and feet and claws.

Don't look at the devil wings on the back of the abyss demons, but most of the demons are so big and short and overweight that they can't fly with the decorative size of the wings.

The Quasar demons that resembled skinned toads and the Longhorn demons that were known for their savage attacks could only manage to float half a meter off the ground at an 'ultra low altitude' even if they flapped their wings with all their might.

Such a 'height' was better than nothing, and did not even deserve the lofty term of flight.

Among all the Abyss Demons, the one with the strongest flying ability probably belonged to these Frommons.

They were thin enough and light enough, which allowed them to spread their wings and soar above the sky. With their summoned berserk-type spells and extremely sharp claws and teeth, their threat was not to be underestimated.

Although Frommons had medium close combat strength, they managed to squeeze into the ranks of middle-ranked demons with their superior flying skills. They also served mostly as scouts and scouts under the Demon Lord.

Seeing that their big boss, Demon Lord Finus, was injured by the strange flying ship in the distance, all the Floc demons raised their heads and let out a strange cry similar to the cry of apes and monkeys, as they all spread their wings and rushed into the sky.

They circled in the sky at high speed, dodging the black hole of the silver ship's frightening muzzle and rushing towards the wide flight deck at the back of the ship.

However, before they could get close enough, rows of battle demons with black hole muzzles aloft stood out at the edge of the Vassailo's flight deck. In the next second, burning blinding glare flashed, and a magical fireball whistled into the flying ranks of the Frommons.

The majority of these Frommons were rank 2 creatures, with only a scattering of one or two chieftain-level guys barely climbing to rank 3. Faced with the stormy baptism of magical fireballs, they squealed and squealed, not even having time to change their flight direction before being engulfed by a burst of flames.

The Crimson Fleet was always followed by large groups of battle fiends wherever it went, and such information was known to almost everyone in the wizarding world. Unfortunately, this group of Frommons didn't know!

Although the Abyssal Demons had superior fire resistance due to their physique, they hadn't reached the point of fire immunity after all. Thus the huge amount of flame attacks still caused them severe magical damage.

Thirty Flurry Demons with an average level of Level 2, seven of them fell from the sky in just one shot, covered in scorching black and trailing long black smoke tails. However, from the way they were struggling as they fell, it could be seen that only two of them died directly, while the remaining five were only seriously injured.

"Damn it, these demons' fire resistance is too high, they can't fight! All combat units, switch to frost rays..." the goblin mechanics in charge of commanding the magic weapons shouted out, and amidst a clattering sound of metal changing, the next round of shots that came out in unison were no longer magic fireballs, but dense, rain-like frost rays.

In addition to the frost rays, goblin rockets with enhanced explosive power also flew out one by one with a whoosh. They were only about the thickness of an adult's arm and a meter long, with a large number of arcane crystals and metal projectiles mixed inside.

Whenever the goblin missiles rushed into the demon group with a piercing screech, the violent collision would cause the fragments of arcane crystals to burst with terrifying explosive power. The energy shockwave with an astonishing number of metal projectiles exploded in the center in a blossoming manner in the most densely populated areas of the demons, the scene, the scene, made every human who witnessed it feel hearty and painful.

The wild explosive force gave the metal projectiles far more lethal power than normal!

Pfffft....

Amidst the dense, rain-like strikes, Frommon, who was caught in the blast shockwave, tumbled wildly with the storm while his body trembled unceasingly. A blood hole the size of a finger's stomach suddenly surfaced, from which purple-black blood spurted out.

The thirty-strong Flurry Squad suffered heavy casualties after only three rounds of strikes, except for the two Level 3 Elite Flurry Demons who escaped from the enemy's striking range with their tattered bodies, the rest of them were lost to the intense and rainy attacks of the Demon Armor Squad.

The two elite Flotsam whistled miserably as they circled high in the sky, but they no longer dared to step into the enemy's line of fire!

The Demon Lord Finus, who was standing in place silently absorbing the Abyssal Breath emitted from the great rift in space to mend his body, raised his head and widened his scarlet, blood-red, hostile pupils, simply unable to believe his eyes.

That was a small squad of mid-ranked Frommons! Even in the Abyssal World, it was a pretty good aerial assault force. Surprisingly... in this Wizard World, they were killed seventy-eight times without even touching the enemy's side....

Phineus sucked in a breath of cold air, regretting for the first time his recklessness and brashness!

However, none of the Abyss Demons were worthy of being a violent fiend full of heart and mind that only knew how to kill.

Finus once again raised his head to the sky and roared, urging every newly teleported demon on his side to attack the enemy in the distance.

The bloody battlefield, the purple and black blood that coated the ground and the broken bodies of the demons, coupled with the Demon Lord's incendiary battle roar... A group of Abyssal demons had just teleported here, and they didn't even wait for their bodies to get used to the environment before shrieking and throwing themselves into the battle.

A War Witch Tower also began to make its presence felt, its body condensing into a colorful elemental glow, or transforming into a thunderbolt of lightning, or into a bone-chilling ice blade, or into a scurrying earth spear thrust... Either one could inflict terrifying damage on the gathered Abyssal Demons.

On the battlefield, even if the Abyssal Demon's single strength was strong and its magic resistance was excellent, it could not withstand the rounds of bombardment from a dozen War Witch Towers. The tall bodies were crushed, and the scattered body parts were then bombarded into a purple-black blood sauce that stirred with the black soil that splattered, making it difficult to sort out anymore.

However, amidst the stormy and raging waves of sorcery, there were also large groups of middle and high level demons that relied on precision teleportation to appear directly beside the War Witch Tower.

And every time that happened, it was the time for those witch beasts to pounce bravely and tangle with them to the death!

A simple version of the War Witch Tower is mostly only twenty to thirty meters tall, with almost no living or experimental facilities inside, only a basic attack and defense witch array and a small energy pool.

Without an elemental altar, the War Witch Tower is unable to draw free magical energy from the Void. It runs on a small pool of energy connected to the energy of the real Wizard Tower, and is therefore only an outlying sorcery facility of the Wizard Tower.

Due to its simplicity and shrinkage, it is impossible to use the same level of materials and resources as the Sorcerer's Tower. Therefore, even the War Witch Tower could not withstand the unbridled ramming and slashing of those seven to eight meters tall, several tons in weight, and strong and fierce Abyssal Demons.

Thus, the Witch Beasts guarding the perimeter of the War Witch Tower became the only cannon fodder that could stop the Abyssal Demons!

However, although the two sides were both cannon fodder, the other cannon fodder was far stronger than this cannon fodder.

Abyssal Demons were all tall, and their bodies were covered with tough demonic scales and thick blasphemous armor, coupled with instantaneous and powerful class spells... Witch beasts were like the hounds of a ferocious lion or tiger in front of a demon, and even if they fought bravely and valiantly, they would be chopped up like vegetables by the other side.

The Red Inferno Demon was a low-level demon, also known as a Flame Demon, and was the primary form of a mid-level Ash Lord. If the Ashes Lord could go further, it would become a legendary terrifying inflammatory demon capable of burning the heavens and the earth.

Therefore, the 1st stage Red Inferno Demon was also a special branch of the Abyss Demons that was best at long-range attacks.

The Longhorn Demon, Quasar Demon and Berserker Demon in front of them were frantically slaughtering the witch beasts and striking the War Witch Tower. The slightly weaker Red Inferno Demons, whose bodies were burning with clusters of fierce purple fire, gathered in groups, shouting and hurling Abyssal Flames at the War Witch Tower.

Although the War Witch Tower was made of anti-demon stone, the tower was engraved with a defensive witch array, and an energy shield was erected outside the tower... no amount of defensive measures could withstand the destruction of the war.

Under the onslaught of the Abyssal Demons, one by one the outer war witch towers were toppled and groups of witch beasts were slaughtered. The entire battlefield was bloody, and horrifying scenes of blood and wreckage could be seen everywhere.

Every time a war tower fell, it was also the moment when the Alden Family witches inside fled in disarray.

They needed to flee from the ruins to the neighboring Tower of War, or simply to the rear of the tower. This short distance of less than a hundred meters was sometimes the difference between life and death!

As soon as they saw the sorcerer's figure, the Abyssal Demons that had been decimated by the War Witch Tower immediately transiently moved over without hesitation.

Tonto.....

After a series of strange sounds unique to precision teleportation, the sides of these sorcerers fleeing from the ruins were instantly covered by a tall, hideous body. Under the swing of a sharp claw and whistling jagged sword, these human sorcerers who were only of level 1 or 2 had no way to escape and perished on the spot.

And the flesh and blood remains they left behind were eaten up by the Abyssal Demons in a split second!
