Age of Adepts

Chapter 1410 - Death Trap.

When I was weak, I'm afraid that every moment I looked forward to being able to be strong.

But when Grim was really strong, that was when he realized that being strong also had its painful aspects.

Now, he didn't dare to act rashly at all!

The transformation of the Body of Rules had only just begun, far from reaching maturity. But from this moment on, he had lost the power to do as he wished.

The tighter the union with the rules, the more clearly he could perceive the existence of the world rule system and the concerns of the bit consciousness. Now, it was as if he was in a house filled with fine porcelain and glassware. The slightest stirring of the wind could bring about a devastating catastrophe to the area he was in.

After all, his short battle with that Abyssal Demon still had a hint of an anti-invasion gimmick to it. Even if it had brought great harm to the bitspace around the Great Space Rift, all the blame had fallen on that Abyssal Alchemy Demon, and he only needed to feel at ease to enjoy the bitspace feedback to the fullest.

But now that the enemy was gone, then his every move had triggered unprecedented attention from the bit surface consciousness.

Although the surface world wasn't as fragile as outsiders thought, but when faced with a powerful individual who had mastered the rules of the world and was able to penetrate his will to the level of the rules, thus affecting the entire surface space, the surface consciousness also monitored him as closely as if he were a prisoner.

The current Grim was clearly still in a honeymoon reconciliation period with the bit surface consciousness. Having just repulsed the Abyss's attack, the Bit Consciousness was not stingy, and straightaway passed over a considerable amount of bitonal feedback.

These bits of feedback could either be considered as rewards from the bit surface consciousness to him, or as some sort of intimacy. As long as the bitface feedback wasn't consumed, Grim would always be able to receive the bitface consciousness' 'favor' and 'other eyes'.

But once Grim does something detrimental to the Wizarding World, it is these intimacies that are first consumed. If the intimacy wasn't depleted, the bit consciousness would be tolerant of him and try to appease him as much as possible. But once the intimacy is depleted, it is feared that the plane of consciousness will turn against him and try to push him out of the world by any means possible.

The functioning of the world needs the support of the rule system, and with a big rat like Grim who can influence the rule power in the way, it will naturally cause the displeasure of the surface consciousness.

If the rat is aware of the opportunity and restrains itself, then the surface consciousness may still tolerate its survival within certain limits. But if the rat is unbridled in its influence on the surface, then that is the moment when the surface consciousness will tear its face off and vow to expel the rat from the surface system.

The reasoning is as simple as that!

Since ancient times, so many Superior Sorcerers had been forced to leave the world because of this reason, looking for a new place to settle down outside the Sorcerer World.

And now, when Grim had truly mastered the flame rule, the Immortal Flame, he was immediately faced with the same problem.

His existence was already too ungodly for this world!

"It seems that from now on, I'll have to restrain my every move... "Grim couldn't help but sigh lightly under his breath as he began to work on sealing the great spatial rift.

As he chanted loudly with a ringing voice, a huge flame symbol was born into the void, and then continued to merge into the great spatial rift. Under the stimulation and restraint of the flame runes, the rift space became smaller and smaller, eventually shrinking into a dense light door no more than a hundred meters in diameter.

Grim was not a specialized sealer after all, and being able to compress and limit such a large spatial rift to the size of a hundred meters was already invaluable. It was already difficult for such a small light gate to pass through a high magical creature of rank 4 or higher.

If the ones who got into the Wizard World were all 'little guys' below 4th level, the High Magician alone with the Wizard Tower would be able to handle it.

With Grim, the great god, sitting here, the Alden family's witches became unprecedentedly active.

They rode on flying witch beasts around the hundred-meter light gate, testing and measuring without stopping, and beneath the light gate, more witches gathered and began to build war witch towers and various witchcraft facilities.

In between their busy moments, they would all look up to this powerful sorcerer who was a thousand meters tall, like an ancient giant. Such mighty power was already the limit of what the surface could hold!

In front of such a powerful sorcerer, they were afraid that these 2nd and 3rd stage middle stage sorcerers were as fragile as ants and couldn't withstand a slap from the other side. And the closer they got to each other, the more they could appreciate the disparity in power between the two sides.

The more you get close to the opponent, the more you'll be able to appreciate the disparity in power between them. Whereas a 3rd rank or higher sorcerer would struggle a little longer, but would not be able to escape the radiation area alive.

And within Grim's Burning Field, there were terrifying flame rules imbued within it. Even if some sorcerers were able to use sorcery means to borrow their body weight or soul transfer in other regions, they would not be able to escape the extended burning of the flame rules.

Unless they were able to alter all of their soul fluctuations, or flee to a different location in time to use the spatial barrier to isolate themselves from the recourse of the Grim Flame Rules. Otherwise, any means would be ineffective against the rule's power, and they were doomed to die.

The only thing that could fight against the rules was another rule!

After sealing the Great Rift in Space, Grim left the rest of the work to the tiny, ant-like sorcerers beneath him, while he himself stood quietly in place, silently transforming the body with the flame rule radiation imbued in the Heart of Rules.

One day passed by so quickly.

As I watched a War Witch Tower rise up once again and completely regulate the only remaining light door in the Great Rift in Space, the rule transformation in Grim's body was only 26% complete!

On this day, just as he had finished his day of meditation and was about to think about what to do today, a strange mental fluctuation gently touched his perception.

"Drip, received a remote communication request from the Wraith Kanganus, please indicate whether the subject is connected?"

Congenas?

Grim's eyebrows moved and he chose to agree.

In the next second, a cold, icy mental awareness linked to his sense of thought.

"Your Excellency Grim, you've screwed us over badly!"

As soon as the Thinking Sense was linked, Kangenas sputtered and complained wildly.

"As a fair trade, you have unilaterally concealed the true state of that graveyard of the dead, causing great damage to our side. On behalf of the Pan-Universe Wraith Alliance, I would like to issue the gravest warning and protest to you... Hey, why are you in such a weird mental state?"

"Stop, stop, stop... "Grim interrupted the Witch Kanganus with no good grace and said coldly, "Kanganus, we made it clear when we made the deal, and I only traded out a spatial waymark from the Graveyard of the Dead, As for the real situation there, I don't know much about it. So, I need to ask you now, according to the spatial waymark I gave you, did you find your target?"

"I found it, but..."

"Is the target a cemetery of the dead?" Grim interrupted it again.

"Yes though, but..." the Wraith had obviously just come back from hitting a big nail in the head there and was trying to vent its anger with a full belly.

"Nothing but buts. The main part of our deal is that you help me out in battle once, and I trade you a spatial waymark from the Graveyard of the Dead. It's all that simple! As for whether you can gain something there, or whether there are traps inside, it is not part of our dealings at all. Then I'm afraid it's a bit unreasonable for Your Excellency to raise questions about this, isn't it?"

"Uh..."

The Witch Demon Kangonas was directly stuck.

As a qualified Witch Demon, he naturally yearned for the Death God Cemetery.

If one could successfully excavate a death cemetery, one wouldn't even want to think about divine crystals, but the remains of a death god and the possible existence of a death god's divine frame could definitely make a witch demon instantly prosperous.

Even with a few tricks, a Witch Demon might even be able to take control of the remains of the God of Death and regain control of the remaining believers and beliefs of the opponent.

But exploring a Death God's cemetery was undoubtedly a huge adventure as well!

Some Death Gods full of malevolent tastes would even fake a Death God's graveyard and place a billet of themselves on it, waiting for those otherworldly powerhouses to come to their doorstep to die. Or perhaps that God of Death had not yet exhausted the power of faith, and had only temporarily fallen into a long sleep.

In this way, the so-called Death God's Graveyard would become a death trap, and whoever stepped into it would be unlucky. Don't get to the point where the gravediggers don't gain anything, but instead even lose themselves to the tomb owner.

So, after getting Grim's vague message and the set of spatial dowsers, Witch Kangonas also knew that he was unable to swallow it all by himself, so he gathered a few volunteers from within the Witch Demon Alliance to explore the Graveyard of Death together with himself.

With a total of five 4th rank Wraiths, and the endless army of undead they commanded, it was a terrifying force capable of overturning the seas and oceans when placed on any surface.

Unfortunately, it was such a mighty force that it still overturned and fell at that necropolis!

The exact circumstances of the exploration and battle, which Congenas is tight-lipped and refuses to divulge at all. But just based on the results, one could also deduce the horror of that unprecedented battle.

Five rank 4 Wraiths broke into the Graveyard of the Dead, and only three escaped alive.

The remaining two had their bodies blown apart by the enemy, and one of them was lucky enough to escape with his soul in time to return to the Demon Life Box. The unluckiest one was the one whose soul was harvested by the despicable God of Death and became the nourishment for the other's death power.

Such a terrifying event naturally shook the Witch and Demon Alliance.

Several of the oldest and most qualified Top Wraiths had come out in force, vowing to hunt down that vile Reaper to the end. In contrast, Kangenas, the young witch demon who had provided the 'wrong' information, naturally received criticism from everyone.

Thus, having just stabilized the rear, Connors couldn't wait to come and trouble Grim!
