Age of Adepts

Chapter 1418 - Strange Negotiations

Grim ingested the small wooden casket, opened a corner and had a look at it before closing and sealing it again with a grimace.

Due to the existence of force field protection, no one could see the contents of the casket through the distorted space around him.

Grim did not return the wooden casket to the other party, but instead casually cut open the spatial gap and placed it inside a small flame space that he had created separately. At his level, ordinary storage items could no longer be used anymore.

The storage belt and spatial ring simply couldn't withstand the power of his body's flame rules, so they could only open up some small flame spaces for storing some important items.

As long as he wasn't in some bizarre environment where space was distorted, this kind of small space that could be opened and closed at any time with its unique flame branding attached to it was instead more convenient and practical than ordinary spatial props.

"At most, this item will only allow me to stop pursuing your previous evil deeds. I can't talk about anything else... You stay here first!" Grim pondered and said in a deep voice, "I still have some trivial matters here that I haven't finished dealing with. Once we gather the Central 4th Order witches, I will naturally discuss the matter of reinforcing the Association with them..."

"Lord Grim, if you'll excuse me for fighting to hurry...the Society can't afford to wait!" That Jermaine wizard pleaded with an anxious face, "Before I left the Association to come here, the Murky Bottom Valley side... has become somewhat untenable."

"Not so much!" Andrews, who was standing by the side, couldn't help but retort, "Although the Calamity Creatures are menacing, the Association is also strong in troops over there, so there shouldn't be any problem in resisting them for a year and a half."

That Jermaine wizard smiled bitterly at the words and said, "It is true by all means, but... but..."

"Is there something else you're not telling us? I'm telling you, this is the middle of the country, not a territory under your association. We don't have any obligation or responsibility to defend you against foreign invasions. So, if there's anything you haven't explained, you'd better say it up front... "Andrews looked fierce, the situation in the middle of the continent was now most tight in his family's territory.

Once Grim really had to deploy manpower to reinforce the Association, who would be left to guard this great spatial rift?

If it was a few days ago, he would have had the confidence to compete with those otherworldly invaders with the resources and heritage his family had accumulated over the past few hundred years. But looking at the current situation, with the Abyss, Calamity and other top-level planes stirring things up at every turn, he, a small 4th rank sorcerer, really couldn't stand up to such a number of terrifying enemies.

Therefore, if he wanted to reinforce the association, he was the first to strongly oppose it!

Hearing Andrews' question, that Jermaine wizard's face was cloudy and shifty as he finally bit his teeth and explained in a low voice, "It's not that I'm trying to hide anything, but... the situation there really isn't very promising."

"If there were only those three calamity little lords, our association wouldn't be in such a mess. The point is, in the deepest part of the Murky Abyss valley, it seems that a strange monster has run over, it's not strong in combat, but it has an exceptionally terrifying 'tainted' ability... So far, 1/3 of the witch beast troops that our Sorcerer Association has sent to the battlefield have been contaminated by that monster! Having alienated the beast..."

"Contaminate your witch beasts directly on the battlefield, transforming them into alien beasts?" Grim Woods snapped inquiringly.

"Yes! It was that monster that was messing around behind the scenes that made the battlefield situation so bad. If... if we can't kill this monster in ten days, I'm afraid the association will have to abandon the Moabuchi Valley and retreat to hold on to the headquarters and a few other core territories..." the Jermaine wizard looked fearful, obviously that monster gave him a It left a very frightening memory.

"I'm afraid that those who can do this are rule creatures..." nodded Grim darkly, "Without the same rule power to resist, I'm afraid that the more ordinary creatures go up there, the easier it is for the other side to take advantage of the opportunity to taint them. Now I understand why Domnall asked you to come to me, it should be because he wants to use the rule power in me!"

"My lord's discernment, indeed!" Seeing that the other party had already guessed, the Jermain Witch no longer concealed it and nodded in acknowledgement, "Lord Domnall also said that if you, my lord, are willing to do it yourself, our association..."

At this point, Jermaine Wizard's voice stopped abruptly and changed to sorcery transmission, as if he was promising Grim some generous conditions.

A moment later, Jermaine Wizard returned alone to the Alden Family Witch Tower, leaving only Grim, who was a thousand meters tall, and the demigod witch demons, Connors and Andrews, at the edge of the Great Space Rift.

Although Kangenas was not a native creature of the Witch World, it had a basic understanding of the form of the Witch Continent after this period of bad luck.

Seeing the other party leave, it was the first to inquire in a gloomy manner, "From what I know, you didn't have a good relationship with that Sorcerer's Association in the past. What, what kind of resources did they use to get you to change your mind and help a group of enemies? Wouldn't it be better for you to just hold on to the middle of the country and sit back and watch their territory turn upside down?"

"Source prime... 2000 Sith!" Grim faded away.

"2,000 Sith of Source Material... Well, that's a heavy enough gift! But..." a look of disbelief appeared on Kangenas' crystal skull, "If you say that it was for these source qualities that you agreed to help the other side, I don't believe it to death! They are your enemies, and if their strength is greatly diminished in this calamitous invasion, I think it would be more in your central interests!"

Andrews didn't interrupt to speak beside him, but looking at his appearance it was obvious that he agreed with the Demigod Witch Demon's insight a hundred thousand times.

The Witch Association was too powerful, so powerful that it was strong enough to fight against the entire Witch Continent.

If they could really use the Calamity Invasion to make them spit blood, I'm afraid that the Silver Alliance, the Northern Witch and the newly-emerging Central would be optimistic and sit back and watch their misfortune.

Grim smiled heedlessly and said, "If there was no demonic tide and it was just a simple calamity invasion, I would naturally have to watch. But now, when the tide is raging, if the Calamity Lords really invade the Sorcerer World, I'm afraid that it will be very difficult to drive them out then. As a member of the Sorcerer's World, I naturally have to answer the call of the Bit Consciousness to expel the foreign invaders!"

Grim suddenly lifted the tone so high, naturally gagging the remaining two. But just from the Demigod Witch Demon's eerily sneering appearance, one could tell that it didn't believe a word of what Grim had just said!

Grim was not impressed, and secretly passed on a few words to the demigod witch.

"Right! That's only in line with the style of my generation... I knew there must be some kind of scheme behind you... Jie Jie Jie, now I'm relieved!" The scarlet soul fire in the hollow orbits of Congenas' eyes oohs and aahs, and he said hyperactively, "Leave the messaging to me, I promise I'll get this news to that 'lord' as quickly as possible. Jie Jie Jie..."

Andrews looked dazed, clearly unaware of what the two terrifying existences in front of him were calculating. However, he dared to assert that a fellow who could be jointly calculated by a Rule Witch and a Demigod Witch Demon would definitely be very unlucky and very... very... very unlucky!

"Andrews, don't stop here, notify all the Central 4 Steps as soon as possible and have them come here for a meeting. The time will be limited to two days, and those who don't come after that will suffer the consequences!" Grim stopped speaking even after giving the order, closed his eyes and quietly began to recuperate and recover the strength lost in the previous battle.

At a tier like his, no matter what kind of injuries he had sustained to himself, the vast majority of injuries could be recovered through energy consumption. And once a wound appeared on his body that could not be healed, it often meant that he had reached the point of exhaustion.

Compared to him, Grim's profound application of the power of rules was like that of a toddler, not on the same level at all.

If it wasn't for the chip's superior data simulation and calculation, I'm afraid Grim wouldn't have been qualified to drag it into a state of opposing consumption. After the inexplicable battle, most of the feedback that Grim had gained from expelling the Abyssal Invasion had been swallowed up by the rule system, except for a portion of it that was used for his own growth.

But while the loss was great, Grim was not entirely without gain.

At the very least, he now had a basic understanding of what was at stake in the Rules War.

If he were to encounter that Rule Sorcerer billet again, although defeating the opponent was by no means possible. But coupled with his newly-formed Star Beast bloodline, it made killing the other party that much more likely.

Now, it was up to which fellow would crash into his hands without eyes!

Arden Family Witch Tower.

Inside a sorcerous chamber, that Jermaine boy wizard was in communication with his distant headquarters through a magic water mirror.

Inside the crystal, Domnall's aged face emerged.

"How are things going? Did that Grim answer to the shot?"

"Reporting back to your lordship, the other party didn't spit, only saying that they had convened a meeting of the Central 4th Order to study it, but didn't promise that they would definitely take action..." the Jermaine Wizard looked dejected.

"Hmph, what's the disappointment... It's beyond our previous expectations for the other side to react like that. Aren't they gathering 4th rank witches? You are to contact every 4th Order before their gathering, and can make any commitments necessary. Jermaine, do it right, I have authorized the opening of hidden resource points to you, and don't skimp on resources and materials if you can bring in any of the 4th rank wizards to the war..."

"Remember, by any means necessary, by any means necessary!"
