Age of Adepts

Chapter 1452 - The Association's Meet and Greet

"A very clever design!" Mary slurred.

The crowd watched as the puppet pieces on the chessboard grid moved forward or backward under the control of the Society's wizards, and every time the two pieces met a fierce battle would break out.

Every time the two pieces meet, a fierce battle will break out. Each piece is pre-programmed with different fighting styles and strange techniques, and winning depends on the subtlety of the sorcerer's spirit in addition to his basic fighting strength.

If a certain side's sorcerer's spirit was strong enough, even the most ordinary shield and sword guards in control of their battle strength would be able to slay the opponent's magic palace and pull that magic emperor down.

So, this was clearly a sorcery battle chess game developed to train the sorcerer's mental strength. It was just that the pieces were given strange life force by the arcane sorcerers, which gave them distinctive fighting abilities.

What's more, when creating these puppet chess pieces, the Upanishadic Shamans mixed a Mandas alloy into them. This was also a Herculean memory metal, and even if the puppet pieces were damaged, as long as enough magical energy was infused into the board grid witches, everything would slowly be restored to its original state.

Mary smiled, and after thanking Melony, she ordered the gift to be put away.

Although the gift was ingenious, it didn't play any special role for the Horton Witchcraft Academy. This might be the Silver Alliance's intent as well!

After all, there was still a competing interest between the two sides, and they would never give Horton Witchcraft Academy a strategic resource as a gift.

After the Silver Alliance was the Northland witches.

The one they sent this time was actually that fraudulent witch leader, Angelina, and the congratulatory gifts she brought were two small resource bits. The gifts were not heavy, but they were much more practical than the Silver Alliance's.

Mary once again expressed her gratitude, and ordered the people to accept the crystal runes that hid the Resource Plane's spatial signposts, before she and everyone else raised their glasses and drank at the same time.

However, before all the congratulations from everyone had dispersed, a commotion suddenly came from outside the Witch Tower.

Mary frowned slightly and looked sideways at Emelia, who was sitting on her left hand side of the stage. The latter was sitting with a halo of green light between her hands, seemingly communicating with something from afar.

Within a few words, Emelia's face changed slightly, looked up at Mary and whispered, "It's someone from the Sorcerer's Association, coming all the way this way!"

Although Emelia spoke easily, Mary could taste the situation inside.

If those Wizards' Association people had teleported in according to protocol and were received by the wizards from the Academy side, it was impossible for them to cause a sudden panic outside. Therefore, nine times out of ten, those bastards had forced their way in....

"Meryl, you're going to greet them!" Marisenson snickered a few times, "Save these far-flung guys from calling us rude again..."

"Yes!"

Meryl promised to stand up openly, and the wide red dragon wings behind her spread out in an instant and flew out of the Witchcraft Hall with a strong wind in its wake.

Over the years under the adequate nourishment of the red dragon bloodline, Meryl's strength had also progressed by leaps and bounds, and there was a strong tendency for her to hit the 4th rank within a hundred years. Eventually, her lineage had become stronger and more active.

Everyone also put down their wine glasses, exchanging silently while waiting for the arrival of the emissary from the Wizard Association's side.

The one who came was not good, the one who came was not good!

Although nominally congratulatory, there was still open or covert competition between the several major witch organizations. Thus, whether the arrival of the Sorcerer's Association was a mere congratulations, or whether they wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to come down on their heels.

It was all undetermined!

Soon, the emissaries from the association's side flew directly into the venue, accompanied by Meryl.

There were a total of seven visitors, led by two of them was a strange witch wearing purple soft armor, bald head, eyebrowless, with purple eye pupils. The other was a short male witch with a bowed back and hawkish nose, green eyes, yellow teeth, thin and messy hair, and a black witch's robe decorated with all kinds of gems.

Seeing the visitor, all the guests present made a sudden jolt in unison, feeling the overwhelming aura of power.

Super-strong... the two headed by this were both at the peak of the 4th stage!

Behind them, three men, two women, and five witches had breath fluctuations of only 3rd stage, but they were also extremely fierce in their temperament, with a fierce smell that had experienced bloodshed and fought and crawled out of the pile of dead.

And they, the least powerful one had a 3rd rank advanced level.

Mary was slightly shocked in her heart, but her face didn't move, and she stood up with a fleshly smile and coldly said, "Who did I think it was, but it was Lord Gloria and Lord Severus! On behalf of Grim, I would like to welcome all of you as the two lords have come a long way to be here. Please..."

However, the two superpowers of the association didn't seem to be buying it, as they just hovered in the middle of the hall, slowly looking around at the crowd.

Beneath their awe-inspiring pressure, all of the attendees turned slightly pale and looked unnatural.

The Super Powerful would always be the top force within the Bit World!

Perhaps it was because of the spurt of 'pseudo-super-strong' appearing in the central part of the country over this period of time, which also made the super-strong seem less valuable. But today, having felt the terrifying spiritual pressure of a true superpower up close, everyone present felt heartfelt trembling and dread from the bottom of their own hearts.

The 4th stage sorcerers were fine, still able to sit firmly in the face of such pressure, but those below 4th stage were a bit restless and frightened.

If the other party was allowed to overpower the guests with such recklessness, just one of the middle-ranked witches or otherworldly creatures present would have a mental breakdown and cry out, which would be tantamount to slapping the central witches hard in the face.

Something like this must not be allowed to happen!

Mary's body trembled, suppressing the anger in her heart, her scarlet pupils overflowed with a ripple of blood, distantly resisting the incoming pressure. But unfortunately, she hadn't really reached the peak of the 4th rank after all, and the Nightmare Castle was still ten thousand miles away.

These two points also meant that it was impossible for her to resist the malevolent spiritual pressure of the two superpowers!

Seeing that the situation was not good, Gold One Clan Chief Monash Gaia also took advantage of the situation to stand up and lightly snapped, "Since Lord Mary has invited several distinguished guests to take their seats, it would be better for you all to sit down!"

As he raised his hand to gesture, Gaia cut into this 'secret battle' with his spirit.

Although the Golden Giant was strong, it only used its physique and electrical abilities, and was still not as strong as the two superpowers in front of it when it came to mental strength.

Gaia Ug hummed, and his entire body began to emit a hazy layer of golden light.

That cursed wizard, Severus, snorted with a smile, "The two of us are here today to congratulate you on behalf of the entire Sorcerer's Association. What, that Grim has such a big frame that he doesn't even want to meet one face?"

The other Gloria Witch, on the other hand, looked cold and silent, apparently also condoning this Severus's nonsense.

The many central witches present stood up in unison, all gnashing their teeth at the rude and barbaric bullying of the Sorcerer's Association. However, the other party didn't really make a move, and was only oppressing everyone with the spiritual pressure they were 'unintentionally' emitting.

If the Central Sorcerer made a move like this, it would turn out that the party had become the murderer who started the war and destroyed the peace!

That's the real reason Mary and Gaia can't transform or deal with each other!

The other Witchcraft Association had easily sent two super-powerful people to force Central to transform against them without even blinking an eye. If such a reputation spread out, I'm afraid that the entire central part of the country would be disgraced by it, and even the newly established Horton Witchcraft Academy would be looked down upon.

It couldn't be helped, who let Mary and Gaia can only be considered 'pseudo-super-strong'. And with the inability to transform, they actually couldn't even reach the level of 'pseudo-super strong'.

The guests from each region had no desire to participate in this, and were waiting for the outcome of this secret fight with their arms folded and sneering. Startled at the sight of the snake woman, Silkena, and the Sand King, they turned their gazes towards the Witch Demon, Kanganus, but saw that the latter looked as if he would never interfere.

The two looked at each other, and although bewildered, they kept in line with the Witch Demon, while making a wall.

Among the crowd present, the 4th stage Thunder Lord Ames, on the other hand, also sat steadily as if he was unaware. Letting Aretina on its side try to quietly pinch it, it didn't care, as if it was also waiting to see Mary's joke.

At the moment when the atmosphere in the arena was turning more and more stagnant, and Mary and Gaia could not help but turn against each other, an unusually clear and crisp voice rang out in the main hall.

"Hey, there are quite a few guests here today! Mary, why don't you greet your guests and sit them down, and let them be punished here?"

The voice was not loud, but it was exceptionally trembling.

And yet, the crowd present at the hearing of it all turned pale and trembled within their hearts.

It was because they did not hear this voice with their ears, but by an inexplicable force that was directly etched into their minds.

And that's what they were most horrified about!

If the owner of this voice etched into their brains wasn't a piece of sound, but a sorcery... the crowd present couldn't help but sweat coldly just thinking about it.

The crowd couldn't help but widen their eyes and quickly darted around the arena, as if to find the owner of this voice. Unfortunately, with their power, how could they actually find that rightful owner if they couldn't even find out what means the other party was using!

But the arena wasn't all rookie broilers, and all the strongmen who had taken control of the power of the Laws and thus ventured into the realm of rules turned their heads to look at the high platform.

There, with a shake of light and shadow, Grim quietly appeared in front of the high-backed chair in the center and was sitting down in a slow and deliberate manner.

And his body was emitting a soft and pure aura of light from inside to outside, from top to bottom.

Hmm? Light? ........

When did that Grim change to light?
