Age of Adepts

Chapter 1454 - A Short Farewell

Honestly, Grim is really afraid to go out!

In terms of wealth, he, Grim, was now absolutely fat; but in terms of strength, he was as weak as a lamb.

This wasn't just his humble words, but the true thoughts that came from his heart.

The Crystal of Rule, the corpse of a 5th stage Calamity Little Lord, the fragments of the divine Grid... which of these things to take out would be enough to move a 5th stage strongman, not to mention those wolf-like 4th stage predators.

The current Grim relied solely on the blessings of the Bit Blessing, and within the Sorcerer's World bit, this semi-advanced state of his was almost invincible, and no one could resist his almost cheat-like indestructible flames.

But once he stepped out of the Sorcerer World, he was still only a 4th stage Sorcerer who had not yet fully advanced. With his heavy treasure on his person, he had probably become the ideal target for other planetary predators at this point.

His enemies were no longer the high-ranking sorcerers who were competing for power and profit within the plane, but the bit predators lurking in the shadows waiting for an opportunity. Therefore, Grim was not going to take a half step outside the bit plane until he actually advanced to level 5.

The Graveyard of Death... Oh, I'm afraid that Grim is now worthy enough to rival half of Death!

Those Wraiths invited him to explore the Graveyard of the Dead, and the ghosts wondered if their real target was the Grim Reaper or themselves....

Grim shrugged off this death invitation with falsehoods, and then reluctantly turned down the Serpent Woman and the Sand King's invitations to the mission, only to send them away one by one.

When Grim had finished dealing with all the guests, only then did Mary, who had endured long enough, barged straight in, grabbed him by the collar, and whispered, "How... how are you doing now?"

In fact, after transforming into his Lightman form, Grim doesn't have a collar on him for Mary to pull! But to appease Mary, whose mind was in turmoil, he could only conjure up a collar for the other man to hold onto.

Faced with Mary's questioning, Grim could only spread his hands and sigh, "As you can see, this is my current state. My body is stranded at the Flame Throne, and I'm afraid I won't be able to get out in a short time. So if I want to go out and move around, I'll have to resort to this lighted body!"

Mary lifted her nose and sniffed, frowning, "Why does this body smell like different blood, like it doesn't belong to you?"

"Because the original blood used to build this body was harvested from the Sorcerer's Guild's Geraldine, and although I've tried to debug it, it still maintains a special spiritual connection with that light elemental sorcerer." Grim smiled bitterly.

"You mean... he can sense your mental and emotional changes?"

"That's not true. Rather, if we are too close, we can detect each other's location and vague mental states through our mental senses."

"How close is too close?"

"Within 10,000 miles! But he's not as strong as me, and may only be able to sense my presence within a hundred miles."

"Wouldn't that have a serious consequence. In case the association does something in this regard, you'll be out of luck at a critical moment!"

"Haha, don't worry about that! I bet that light elemental making Geraldine suspicious at this moment, but it's hard to figure out what's going on. I don't mind swallowing him whole if he dares to come to the middle. This will also increase the strength of my lighted billet a bit more." At this point, Grim couldn't help but laugh with pride while his right hand touched Mary's waist without a sound.

Unfortunately, the hand was only half extended before Mary swept it away with a vicious claw, leaving five terrifying wounds on it that were bone deep. There was no blood in an aluminized body, only an infinite number of light elements.

After the skin was broken, no signs of flesh and blood could be seen within the revealed interior, only completely lighted translucent bones and transparent muscles that emitted a fluorescent glow. The light elemental was best at camouflage and purification, so such injuries and damage faded away as a white light rolled past.

Mary bared her teeth in a fierce, intimidating manner, "Don't even think about touching me if you smell like someone else. In bed, don't try to fool me with your billet. Hmph..."

"Ah..." said Grim, startled and horrified, "Then... then I'm afraid you'll have to wait a hundred years!"

"A hundred years is a hundred years, I'll put up with it! Anyway, before you come out of your own body, if you dare touch my mother with your billet, I'll rip you apart... If you can't hold back, you can go to Alice and see if she'll let your billet fuck you..." warned Mary in a serious manner Dao.

Mary couldn't even accept the billet, much less the ever-shy and shy Alice!

Grim was suddenly five thunderbolts, and quite desperate with a sense of all-consuming despair.

However, he quickly adjusted his mood and called out to Mary before she went out.

Once again, he took out a storage ring from his body and held it in his palm, Grim said softly, "This body still has to guard my body, so it is impossible for me to stay away from the Flame Throne. Things in the middle of the latter hundred years will be hard for you. This is something I got last time at the Association, it's of some use to you, so put it away!"

"You take back the Shadow Demon! It's still your ontological side that matters..."

"No need. No one on this side will easily dare to go there, and if anyone does, I'm afraid it's not something a Shadow Demon can stop. Instead, on your side, you are in dire need of some hard hands to hold up the scene, so let it remain by your side!"

When Mary suddenly looked back, she found that Grim had already left, and on his original spot, there was a small, delicate and beautiful ring quietly placed.

Picking up the ring and sensing the jar of 5th stage biological blood stored inside, Mary's pretty little face was suddenly filled with a hint of sadness.

Once upon a time, they had been apprentices together, struggled through dangerous situations together, became wizards together again, and trudged along step by step... Now, his steps were getting faster and faster, could she... still catch up with him?

This made the ever-proud Queen of Blood, Mary, become a bit bottomless!

As a special blood witch, her advancement was subject to the shackles of her own bloodline potential. Searching through the records of the witches, the multiverse had yet to see a vampire that crossed the 5th rank.

No vampire deity had ever appeared in a single location, and there had never been a blood witch of the 5th rank. It seemed as if vampires were a creature that was a complete bittern, and could not survive apart from the bittern at all.

This meant that as a Blood Witch, Mary's path was completely cut off, and she had no bloodline inheritance to learn from. If she wanted to go further, she could only rely on the power of her current bloodline to find an entirely new path.

And after all these years of groping, she had also discovered that the only thing that could push her to continue to grow was the bloodline rules!

Vampire shamans were originally built to build their power system around the rules of the blood system, but their bloodline talent was too unorthodox, so it was hard for them to be blessed by the surface consciousness. As a result, vampires who could start with the bloodline rules and extend their power to the rules level were even rarer.

After all, if one wanted to support a vampire who had reached the peak of the 4th rank, it was feared that the number of beings inside the plane who had been contaminated by its bloodline would belong to the millions. The amount of blood essence that needed to be absorbed in order to advance to the 5th stage was uncountable.

With a little bit of brains, one could imagine that the plane consciousness would never favor such a plane tumor.

If Mary hadn't been persuaded by Grim to seldom expand her vampire staff within the Wizarding World, and hadn't tried to build up a huge legion of Blood Slave derivatives, I'm afraid she would have been out of the reach of the Planar Consciousness.

Now that she had the blood of this 5th order creature provided by Grim, Mary wouldn't need to go and collect a little bit of the blood elixir within the bits.

In this way, she would be able to slow down the Bit Consciousness' ill will towards it, and take the opportunity to have more time to comprehend the so-called Blood Laws.

And the only reason she was so serious about it was to catch up with that fading figure!

...................

The only benefit that lightening the body brought Grim was that the speed of flight and camouflage was much stronger than before.

With a lightening flash, Grim left the Sorcerer's Tower and trudged around the sky above Ironwood City for a moment to observe before he turned into a white light and streaked off towards the Flame Throne.

With his current 4th rank strength, and the strange characteristics of his soul and body, the guy who could catch sight of him from the void simply didn't exist.

Thus, moving forward in silence, he leapt from region to region, watching the land beneath him gradually turn from brownish yellow to black, and the density of the ancient trees in the mountains and forests increase.

Finally, after flying ten thousand miles, there were no more traces of people on the ground, instead, all kinds of insects, fish, birds and beasts became numerous and active.

After flying through the Black Forest for another hundred miles, the greenery suddenly disappeared and a shockingly vast and scorched land appeared.

This piece of scorched earth was a hundred miles in area, with black and cracked earth on the outside, and the deeper you went, the denser the cracks became. When it approached within fifty miles of the core area, stars of lava pools and small flame hills appeared on the earth.

Here, a huge number of flame creatures could even be seen. They were like carefree wild creatures, frolicking, wandering, and living in this land filled with flames and sulfur, and refused to allow any non-flame creatures to enter.

It was because of such a racial trait as theirs that Grim chose not to clear it, but to allow them to roam the area in order to serve as eyes and sentinels on the outskirts of the Throne of Flame.

Flying further in, Grim did not stop until after the lava lake that was a full 5 miles square.

Above the lava lake, above the clouds, a floating giant ship with a huge Crimson Family logo on its bow was quietly hovering there, and the scent of hundreds of witches and apprentices could be faintly perceived inside.

This was the Crimson Family's permanent force stationed in the Lava Lake area, and there was a 3rd stage sorcerer stationed on it all year round. Only, with their power, how could they have detected Grim's trace!

Grim shook his head slightly and sighed, swooping down into the sky and plunging headfirst into the interior of the lava lake...
